I meet the new he boss for the first time Thursday.

I haven't met mine yet. I don't think.
He's in our same region - but different district. He got promoted to ours. =/

Our she boss is taking a position in Chicago.  The new he boss sent an email out yesterday introducing himself.  Kinda sounds like he's not been with the card company long.  He's new to Indianapolis (where our territory bases out of).

Just for the record. I don't like Christmas. I mean I am all for celebrating the Birth of our Lord, but I hate the cost of all the gifts and decorations and just the junk. We never have much in the way of gifts, and for years growing up, the boys and I would take bets on WHEN dad would have his screaming fit, before or after the meal, we would walk on eggshells all day and then after it happened, the day was ruined. So I actually hate the whole thing.

Just my thoughts for today.

Bah humbug. :smirk2:
Have you slapped that one dude from Indiana with a pie in the face today?

Well.... I don't know what august has to do with Christmas-  :P  But let me in on the "humbug" thing. Christmas quit being fun for me when my Mama quit being able to cook and make it special. Since she has been in the nursing home, holidays just aren't the same.
Lou's parents have a big Christmas and I am always invited, but as I've posted before, I am weird and don't handle that type of gathering well. therefore, I am probably the only person that hopes I HAVE to work on that holiday.

I used to LOVE working holidays. Double pay, always a S L O W day, and missing all the holiday drama. Win win situation. Lol

The food is the best part of any holiday. Lol

I HAVE found a small drawback since Chey has gotten older, and that is being with her on that day.....But- I can't keep a gift for her or her Mama over a couple days max and they get it early anyway. I always try, but get to thinking about how much they would love it and give in. I'm a push-over... :laughhard:

Wow Mel, was that random or did I miss a major part of a conversation?

I think your experience growing up definately can form how ya feel about it.  I hope that you eventually see the lightheartedly kindly spirit of the holiday to the point that it makes you super warm and fuzzy inside.

We are having a slight cool streak of weather.  It is in the 70s today and cloudy as all get out but no rain.  It does make me feel like fall and the holidays.  Hannah does an awesome 1940s Christmas singing impression. We have drank hot carmel apple tea today and I'm making a variation of chicken noodle soup.  I'm almost cold.  I'm also exhausted.

Every once in awhile I get to feeling really insecure.  Like that nobody sees my heart, just my flaws.  It means the world when someone believes in you besides Jesus, cause well, sometimes I think I missed the boat on being something great for God and that He and people around me are just hoping I'll make it to heaven... lol

MelodyB

It was random. Random in the sense that mom was talking about how close Christmas is and how she wants the house decorated and a big family deal and blah blah blah, but that just means more work for ME, and she is never happy anyway with what I do, and that even if I did do everything she wanted, it would flop and she would be unhappy anyway, so I have developed a LOATHESOME feeling towards it. It's not the holiday, it's the cost and the mess that surrounds it. For me. Not for anyone else exactly.

That's just me. I'm random like that.

That's just me. I'm random like that.

That's why I love you!!!

For the record, the older I get while continuing to be single the more I hate Christmas as well. This year will be the first year with my brother being married.
It's already a very hard, emotional time for me him being married. Holiday's are just going to intensify it.

:sadbounce:

I miss my brother. Sigh.

I ate some toast for a snack earlier and thought of you, Jenn.

Cinnamon toast. :fork:

Welcome to the canning factory....  Been up to my hooty hoo in tomatoes all day.  :smirk2:

The last batch of juice is in the canner now.

Speaking of Christmas, I had a Christmas flashback deal earlier today myself while I was canning, cause I smelled the smell of a struck match, and that reminded me of some candles we always had at Christmas that generally we never burned but that I always wanted to and occasionally would get to.  So then I sung Silver Bells to myself a little bit, and that was that.

:smirk2:

:P

I have a dentist appointment tomorrow late afternoon...  Gonna go into town and drop off eggs and green beans and work some before the dentist.

I'm overwhelmed.  I can't keep up with the beans that need picked.  And the corn pretty much ready to pick.

Along with everything else.....not enough hours in the day... :reaction:

MelodyB

I was having flashbacks earlier. I ended up looking up NKOTB videos on YouTube. Took me WAYY back. I loved those guys.

Yikes! I would SO take some tomatoes off your hands if I lived closer, Cheese. And I would happily trade you free labor in your garden for free tomatoes. *grin*

Melodya - That is so sad about your neighbor.  Some stuff really shakes you up - regardless of whether it was a close friend or not. I would imagine this one will be difficult to deal with for a while for you.  :-(

Fingerprint - Sounds like you need a Christmas with my family. :) Now then... about that trip to Oregon....... :)

Yes, you are a pushover  :biglaugh: As rare as this may be, though, I'll say something in your defense: you have a couple of extra special females in your life that it would be hard for even a firearms instructin' 40's truck drivin' Arkansas Capital Trooper to keep secrets from. Even the Grumpyest of the Grumpye was impressed.

I must counteract having said somethng halfway decent: one of my co-workers noticed my *ahem* newest truck tire is apparently rubbing off some of the black. I'll swing it by the tyre shoppe soon :)

I may be in Ft. Smith Saturday for a fightig demo. I'll let you know when I'm sure, in case there is a chance to re-drain the local Golden Corral's food supply and profit margin!  :fork:

Rubes, YES. I think I would appreciate Christmas the way it was intended if I could spend it in OR with your family. THAT would be lovely. :D

Oh lord. I.am. hurting. I feel like Mini has been jumping on my back. Couldn't hardly walk this morning. But- God is good, I'm somewhat alive, and I will make it. Maybe. I hope.  :teeth:

Apparently Roscoe did not find my "text of sympathy" as humorous as I found it to be.

You (or anyone on the forum for that matter) could come spend it up here with our family.  I have a cool family and we love getting together.

In other news, I now have a $300 doorstop.  This TASCAM audio interface fried itself because it didn't like XLR inputs from a compressor.  For the record, it is SUPPOSED to take XLR inputs, that's what those XLR jacks are for.

I looked online and found others who had the same problem.  Unfortunately they posted comments about this problem AFTER I bought this thing.   :frustrated:  I can't get a refund or exchange because it's out of warranty, and I don't remember where I bought it anyway.

Oh yeah... in other, other news, last night was a total hash at work.  The furnace generator went down... when they investigated they found out it was because the building air compressor went down... that failed because it overheated, because the building's intercooler (the thing that runs water to cool off the machines in the building) had no water in it.  So everyone was standing around for a while with no air pressure to run any tools, furnace 1 was shut down more than half the night and the last 12 parts out of the furnace line were scrap.

And all this happened on the one night that Evon, the furnace 2nd shift leader, was out.   :-\

Mind you, all this is good news for me.  I had a slow night last night and I'll get overtime as we try to catch back up with the parts we need to be getting out.  But I feel bad for the boss.  With Evon gone he had no idea what to do with the furnace.

My supervisor had to make a trip home to China to renew his visa and everything has been going wrong since he's out.  Stuff that NEVER goes wrong has and no one really knew how to fix it... so it's been trial and error.  More error, I think.
