My day was long and great! Had a wonderful day with my favorite people. I'm tired, but still running WIDE OPEN. I guess that energy drink at 5:30 was a bad idea...then I drank tea at taco bell. Lol caffeine overload! Wheeee! :chairspinud:

Gonna go see if mom put away the leftovers, then Jammie time and perhaps a little NCIS before crashing. ;)

Hopefully going to church in the am. Brandon promised I'd have the car, now just to pray it works!!

Today was a fabulously lazy day!! So needed after this crazy week.....

Ok.  To EVERYONE:  Are you ready?  I'm about to change your life. I didn't believe it when I read that either, but um.. it was true.

They are pretty much amazing.  I think they did changed my life.  They are FUDGY.  They don't taste like nuts and they don't taste like dates.  They did take a whole 5 min. to make, so if you can stand to wait that long, you can make these. 




The Raw Brownie

2 cups whole walnuts
2 ½ cups dates, pitted
1 cup raw cacao
1 cup raw unsalted almonds, roughly chopped (optional)
¼ tsp. sea salt

Directions:
1. Place walnuts in food processor and blend on high until the nuts are finely ground.
2. Add the cacao and salt. Pulse to combine.
3. Add the dates one at a time through the feed tube of the food processor while it is running. What you should end up with is a mix that appears rather like pie crust crumbs, but that when pressed, will easily stick together (if the mixture does not hold together well, add more dates).
4. In a large bowl (or the pan you plan on putting the brownies in), combine the walnut-cacao mix with the chopped almonds. Press into a lined cake pan or mold. Place in freezer or fridge until ready to serve (it is also easier to cut these when they are very cold). Store in an airtight container.

So that's it. I just changed your life. Go and make The Raw Brownie and maybe get back to me to let me know how it turned out.

If you know of another nut that has lots of natural oil, you can sub it for the walnuts.  I couldn't find raw cocoa, so I just used regular, natural, unsweetened cocoa powder.  You know what consistancy you're looking for so you can tweek the measurements accordingly.

I FOUND IT!!! It looks amazing! And tomorrow I can get something at the church that I don't have here at home, and make it to see how it turns out!! Haha

I'm gonna have tater soup for lunch. I was torn between that and a rbb, but I think I'll wait till dinner to get the rbb...after it gets dark so I can slide down the hallway and spill it again. :smirk2:
