Let me put it this way:

I am 5'3" TALL.
I am NOT short!   :P

Draw whatever conclusions you like from this information.

How about 4' 11", is that short?

RainbowJingles

Dear Mr. Grump:

Please define "short."

Couldn't that be considers a hobbit on stilts?   :laughhard:  Boy my sense of humor is kicking in....Got to be really tired...We have had a long revival so far at church!

Just remember short people have a good shot at punching out a knee cap to bring you down a notch or two...but then again I am just barely above being short myself, being 5 ft. 6 1/2 in. tall

The Grump is a bit off this morning, so will content himself with what his memory tells him of the average height of a soldier in Napoleonic times (Emperor of France, about the turn of the 19th century, i.e., 1800ish) the average soldier was only 5'4" tall.

Another observation I'm thinking of in at least one case of one of the Ladies listing themselves as 5'3" or 4'11": Dynamite comes in small packages!

And, I will leave thee to decipher of who and what I mean!  :thumbsup2:

About to go home; I bid the adieu!  :waving: :waving: :waving:

Have you slapped that one dude from Indiana with a pie in the face today?

RainbowJingles

Hmmm...  Are you calling one of us explosive, Mr. Grump?

amanda16

IS bacon not healthy? I could eat it everyday for every meal!! BACON IS SO STINKEN DELISHIOUS!!!

Newsman

Well, Lady Amanda,

In bad news for both of us, I don't think bacon makes the Top 10 Most Healthy Foods List. However, I really like the stuff also. There's a place about 40 miles from here that has a breakfast buffet of bacon and real scrambled eggs, ham steaks, sausage links, potatoes, biscuits and gravy and whatever those 40 or 50 other items are that I ignore!   :fork:

When are you going to post a new Thoughts in the Overnight?

My ideas have run out for now.

Perhaps tonight or tomorrow night, depending on whether/how much I travel and am inspired.. :)

It's HOT in Oklahoma..I've lost more weight, and don't feel the heat like I used to..may have almost let it sneak up on me today.

John  :waving:

RainbowJingles

Ummm...  what did you almost let sneak up on you?  The heat?

Newsman

Yes, just about got too hot before I realized it..hadn't been drinking water, and all the rest of the stuff like that...

Wow, slow night for posting!

Back near the start of the thread, Lady SiipinTea asked me a few questions about my career as a broadcaster (hopefully not boredcaster.)  :P

Started work on a new resume, haven't done one in several years. Just thought again of what was probably the most bizarre broadcast that I ever did....

I did live on-air narration from the funeral of a former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.....

SippinTea

Hmmm.... interesting bit of trivia there. *smile*

Mr. Grumpye,

What is your favorite kind of potato chip?
What was the last book you read just for fun? And was it a good read?

Lady SippinTea,

Chip by itself, fave would be Dorito's nacho cheese..with my choice of dip, a Ruffld straight potato chip.

Other than readigs from the Bible, my book-reading has contained sections from "Zulu Dawn," and "Lincoln and His Generals" online, I've re-read up on the death of a scientist via radiation poisoning in 1945, and looking at Galvesto and it's seawall, related to hurricanes (the latter was church sunday school lesson-related.)

Zulu Dawn is a highly readable fictional work of the 1879 Battle fo Isandhlwana, between the British and the Zulu. Lincoln and his Generals was informative, but not opvberly interesting to me.

Dahlgren (if I recall the name of the scientist correctly,) was interesting, but very very grim reading I would not recommend it under any circumstances to someone with less than an iron stomach for such things. Galveston's seawall, it's people and their resolve was interesting from a number of facets.

I actually have done some online research on this week's football opponent and their coach (I am the radio voice for the McAlester high school sports teams,) and found some neat stuff.

RainbowJingles

Hmmm...  Are you implying that the GOB GREW UP?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

SippinTea

His words.... not mine. ;)

Truly, I hope he never grows up. He wouldn't be nearly so much fun as he is now. :)

Coolness. Now we can pinkwink the thread about the dangers and perils of growing up. :pwink:
