I would really like to make my son a leg of lamb this year, either for Thanksgiving or Christmas. It was a common food over in Turkey (They eat lamb in Turkey.... how ironic  ) and he loved it, so if anyone knows anything about cooking lamb and would like to share your knowlegde on cooking it and/or recipes, I sure would appreciate it.  :grin:

got to visit a historic hotel in Stillwater, MN which is just a bit away from here on the MN side of the St. Croix River.  here's a couple pics.

Kris, Stillwater is a fantastic place for antiques. DId ya go down there?

You should go to Vitorio's Grotto Bleu. The bathroom is in a cave. LOL They have great food, too.

i only drove through town on my way to the hotel.  i had a meeting friday night and all day saturday.  by the time i was done on saturday .. . i was done.  time to go home.

but i saw enough to make me want to go back.

i was at a hotel that was a place where the lumber barons stayed in the 1800s.  the rooms had vaults and fireplaces and parlors.  very, very cool and a fabulous view of the river.  we ate at the restaurant in the hotel which was full of antiques and pretty stuff.

very nice idea.

Yeah, Stillwater is really only a skip, hop, and a jump from the cities. When we go home, which isn't often, we stop in the cities and Stillwater is one of the stops.

What was the name of the hotel?

Stillwater has an antiquarian book seller on main street. When someone can't get something from Amazon, he gets it for them if needed.
