Have you slapped that one dude from Indiana with a pie in the face today?

Based upon the above the conversations, we could start to amuse ourselves by thinking that there are some ladies planning to spend some "quality" time with the old grumpye newscaster.....

Hmmm...just doing my part to stir up some info for the overnight thread!!...Okay back to lurking and observing...

??? What? I must have missed something.  ???
God determines who walks into your life....it's up to you to decide who you let walk away, who you let stay, and who you refuse to let go.

SippinTea

Last I observed, it's not necessary to spend any time with someone in order to start a rumor. Who needs fact when you've got an imagination? *grin*

Ah he is all talk. He doesn't want cha to know he's a nice guy!   :laughhard:

SippinTea

Mr. Grumpye,

Do you wear a watch?
If so, do you prefer leather wristbands, or metal wristbands?
Numbers, or no numbers?

Newsman

None of the above, except for the Grumpye part!

I may have worn a watch, combined, maybe a year of my life..I have an innate knack for being able to tell time pretty closely, even without a watch. I also observe most time-pieces as I pass by, and can calculate a quick approximation of how long it has been since then.

I also find the time-marker on my newest radio station cell phone useful.

I don't use an alarm clock, either.

Hmmppphhhh!!!!!

He really can tell time, very rarely is he ever more than 10 mins off....I have seen him off about 20 mins a couple times, over 10 years or more that I have known newsman.
And he doesn't use an alarm clock because he never sleeps..... :laughhard:

MelodyB

I cant stand it when people dont need an alarm....that is just WRONG!

I have to have an alarm. I wish I had one on my phone, cause I would use it everywhere. I take my alarm with me when I travel, cause I dont trust the alarms at the hotel, or at other peoples houses, I have to have my own.

I know, this is the "Ask a Grump" thread, and not "Mel-Mel give your two cents" thread, but I had to throw that in there. LOL ;) @ Mom.

SO....MR Grump Sir.....

Were you raised in Truth?
How old were you when you first recived the Holy Ghost?
What are you most looking forward to when you get to heaven?

And What did you eat for your last meal? (You may get in trouble on that one ;) )
Have you slapped that one dude from Indiana with a pie in the face today?

Newsman

I was not raised in the Truth.

I started attending a Oneness church when I was 25..was blessed to received the gift of the Holy Ghost within a matter of weeks.

I've got to make it there first.

What was the situation that influenced your decision to attend the Oneness church (other than divine intervention)?

Lady Mel-Mel, I actually was not trying to avoid that one, juts pointing out the fact that I am still strugglng just to make it there. If Paul still felt he had not yet aprehended and desired to avoid being a castaway, then I still have a ways to go. I don't find anything wrong at all with people thinking/saying what the first thing they want to when they reach heaven is, it is just not a thought that occurs much, if any, to me.

Sister Mom, other than God's intervention, I had a co-worker at a pair of radio stations I was working at at the tiime. She and her husband were both in the truth, and she invited me to church.

The first time I went, I think was a youth night. They said they were going to have a 'sword drill.' Sister Pam reached over and grabbed my wrist, and said "it's not what you think it is!"  :laughhard: I'm sure I had at least a crossbow in the trunk of my car, maybe more :) She was probably concerned just how realistic I was prepared to be in a natural 'sword drill.'

John  :waving:

MelodyB

Ummmm I was refurring to the food question as the last question that you avoided, in my original post...not your response, I was satisified with the Heaven answer.

We all face these struggles daily that make us wonder sometimes. We just have to keep our head up and remember that we have a hope!

SippinTea

What she said. *smile*

Mr. Grump

Do you ever get tired.  How do you keep going and going without being exhausted all the time?

I am tired much of the time..exhausted part of the time..to some extent, I just keep going.

I would point out two things about it, though. One is that God gives me strength, though He probably wants me to rest more than I do. The second point would be that I don't have a wife or kids, resposibilities that take a lot of time..I'm able to concentrate on what it takes to get the things done I try and accomplish.

Dear Grump,
I have to work Wednesday, 6 am to 6 pm.  Do you have any advice for me?
The name of the Lord is a strong tower.

Newsman

Well,

You can think of it as working 12 hours = 720 minutes = 43,200 seconds.. if that doesn't depress you (hey, this is Ask a  Grump,) think of all the overtime pay you should be getting!

Dear Olde Mr. Grump,

How do I keep my Bruscetta from getting soggy?

Newsman

Fair Lady,

By your question do I correctly gather that you consider your bruscetta more than just a fancy way of putting cheese on toast? If so, do you use garlic to give it that extra zest?

What type of cheese do you use? A bruscetta needs to have a sharp, strong cheese: if your northern palate has not tried it before, may I suggest you use a sharp longhorn cheese melted with a little pepperjack?

To further 'southwesternize' your fare, you could put some salsa in with the sun-dried tomato that you puree.

As to moisture, have you tried leaving your baking tray in the oven an extra two to three minutes after it's cooked and the oven off, but before you remove it?

John  :waving:

Sister_Mom

That sounds delicious!!
