In the words of the great Confuse-Us:  When you have nothing to say, say nothing.  I have had nothing even remotely interesting or of any value to say this morning, so I kept my big mouth shut.

Of course I could just start spouting random inanities for the sake of having something to say... but I'm fairly certain you don't want that.
"Do you sing at church?"
"Yes I sing at church, I sing at home, at work, in the car, at the supermarket, at Wal-Mart..."

Having a Seth moment.  Some people are down right stupid.  Black people's hair doe not grow or is manageable the same as white people's and to expect them to perm their hair non stop to "fit in" is completely well, I'll say Unchristian and shallow, instead of what I'm thinking.

Makes me pert near fed up.  Let's see these same bigots tight perm their hair non stop, especially their small children and see how sensible it seems to them. They wouldn't last a month.

*end rant*

MsJennJenn

So you're mad at the white people for perming? Or at the black people for perming?
Or at the white people for expecting the black to perm? Or the other way around?  ???

As usual, I am confused and in left field.
**WARNING*** LONG POST AHEAD ** WARNING**

It's been a weird day. It started perfectly normal..then a good friend who works with me who USED to be my supervisor at another job- I helped him get on our present job- began talking to me. A little background-  He is a staunch Baptist, and we've had many talks about God. This man has saw me in my worst state and has been one of my biggest supporters after I straightened up and began to preach, even though he has never been in a Pentecostal church service to my knowledge.
A few years back he was going through a bad time in his life, and while he is Baptist, he hasn't found a church that he likes, so he doesn't have a pastor. He approached me, and I, who was about as far away from God as I could get, told him he needed to go talk to my pastor. He did. He and Bro Wilson became good friends, and he thanked me for introducing him to a real man of God. While he enjoyed Bible discussions, he wanted nothing to do with coming to church. I haven't pressed..

A few months back, he joked with me abound me baptizing him, "just to be safe"...Again, the joking manner taken into consideration, I made it clear that I would talk to Bro Wilson and would love to baptize him IN JESUS' NAME, but didn't press. Sunday he informs me he wants to be baptized for sure. Trying to follow God, I told him I wanted him to read Acts the 2nd chapter to be sure he understand why he needs the baptism and why we baptize the way we do.
He assured me he would read it, but said "Bobby, we've talked about this, I'm with you on the Jesus name stuff". :o I thought he hadn't been listening all those times... He then told me, "I don't want no doctrine, stuff, just dunk me". I opened my mouth to say something and blurted out "I don't teach doctrine, I teach the Word. Doctrine is man's invention. Everything I tell you I will show you in that Book." So not what I meant to say....he looked at me for a moment shocked, then said "I believe that."
Today he apologized for not having read the chapter yet, but said he would do so this weekend...
PLEASE pray that this leads to him being saved. He is one of the most pigheaded, stubborn men I've ever met, but is one of the best friends a person could ever have. I love him like a brother- he was even one of my groomsmen when Lou and I had our church wedding.  When he gets something, he has it locked in...college educated and an awesome speaker too... And there is no telling how many times he's saved my life when we've worked the streets together. I've worked everything from murder scenes to mobs with 300 people against me and him, to taking down a man with a gun ....heard shots fired by him as a guy nearly ran over us one night,...you get the picture.
I'm taking it easy, trusting God that He is working. When I called Bro Wilson and told him, he nearly began crying. He told me that less than a week ago, he was thinking of Brad and had decided that we'd lost him, because he hadn't been around in some time...
God is working....
And then after all that, I came home, mowed the yard, and decided I would "fix" the ham antenna that wasn't broken, and improve it..I did- I dropped it and it shattered into a thousand tiny fiberglass pieces. Not what I wanted.  :-(
Oh and I paid the Infernal Revenue Service the pound of flesh they decided they needed, the fat crooks. If every building they had collapsed without harming anyone, I'd not be unhappy.

I can't really fault your friend for being pig headed and making sure about things that he locks in once he is certain of it. I'm kind of the same way myself. I spent three years in church before I finally got baptized... But when I did, I was very sure about what I was doing and I knew exactly why I was doing it.

For people expecting specifically children, to have constant hair that meets what I can only think to phrase as a retarded ignorant standard.  There was a Tulsa news report on it today.  A little girl was repremanded for having what was deemed "fad hair do" like "afro puffs and tiny braids."   You know cause her 7yr old self is just so disruptive with her one inch twists.  I wonder if there are peopke that seriously ok to think it's ok for kids to have non stop perms at all, let alone to be accepted.

I don't care about perms themselves, I have one. But the idea of black people not having acceptance to wear their hair the way God makes it grow irks my bubble.  For what? People who can't handle diversity?  Keep it neat, keep it clean.  I see so many that dont have a clue how to take of their hair if they went natural from a life of constant perms.  Or how long it would actually grow.

Ack, it's hard to edit on this nook.  And I do so get stirred up about what can seem like racism.  Good grief, people need to grow up and get some sense.  We don't all expect Roscoe to slam dunk basketballs.

THAT is so exciting, Roscoe Picadelly!!!

I have a good feeling about today. Im looking forward to getting started.

I slept in a bit...a luxury I can only afford while dad is occupied in the hospital, Im about to go shower, then get all the garbage gathered up and taken out. After that I am gonna clean out the truck, (Allan and I are gonna detail it tomorrow as a surprise for dad, its kinda nasty cause we seem to live in it and it gets bad.) Then Im gonna cook some rice and chicken for Allan and take it to his job for him, cause its payday and he doesnt have any lunch. lol He just told me this, if he had told me earlier, I would have sent it this morning with him when he left prayer. Then I have to go to the Post office and see if my book has arrived yet cause I havent checked in a few days, and then I need to go to the store and buy a small cabbage and some tomato sauce so I can make unstuffed cabbage rolls, a new pinterest recipe I want to try. Then after that, Allan and I will drop Mom off at the hospital, and go out by ourselves for awhile then come back and visit dad and pick mom up.

Im looking forward to it. :)
