Here be the start of another epic adventure. I have a few photos I'll add over the next few days, but I have to get them in order.

I have seen this several times. Right on I-40 is this huge cross, on top of this hill. Beautiful sight when you are driving down the road.
After getting to Morrilton, I went up to the mountain to meet Roscoe. This is a mile away from the start of the swap meet, cars are piled up EVERYWHERE!
On the car pictures, I will have to defer to Roscoe to give us the info/price/amount of drool I had hanging out of my mouth....

I loved the looks of this car.
I am not a newer stepside guy as much as I thought I would be (sams stepside is great)...but this was a nice truck.

This was a beautiful 54(?) Chevy. I think it had a 350 in it, but looked bone stock.

I was going to take you to task for first post promising pictures and the second post with the first picture being almost an hour and a half apart. Then I went to check the sharing thread, came back and you had posted four more posts. Went to check an online webcomic and you had posted five more.
Objection withdrawn.

Dead on, 1954.... small block Chevy did NOT come in this bodystyle, but if it had, this is what it wouldv'e looked like....kinda pricey, I beleive they were asking $18,500. BUT- I'd rather pay that for this over $28k+ for a new chevy. This'n is much better looking ,IMHO.

My all time favorite Ford Truck body style. This 1940 Ford was also a driver- for all its good looks, there were some stone chips that proved it was driven. At $25k, it was WAY outta my budget, but well worth the price...

Another view of the Shay:
Brief backstory on the Shay. In 1979 or so, a man named Harry Shay managed to get Ford to license him the right to make a replica Model A to celebrate the model A's 50th birthday. They were fiberglass, sold through Ford dealers, with pinto drivetrains....this is one of em

I don't know if you noticed it, Mini, but in the extreme left of this pic, you see the back of a red camaro. This'n was kinda unusual. 1967 model, but what was unusual, it was a six cylinder car that still had its original 250 six banger. Most of those have had a v8 swap done. I honestly believe that this was the first one I have ever saw in person that retained its six cylinder.
I have another picture of that car somewhere. Im sure I will post it later.
While Uncle Ron was wheeling and dealing, Roscoe and I wandered around for a bit. This car was puuuurty!

Roscoe reminds me a lot of my uncle Fred, for looks at least. I'd have to check with Chel on if he sounds like him.

Because he lives about 3 and a half hours away and had his truck that he had driven to the show with him. Not enough drivers. Jeremy and I offered to drive it, but he decided by the time he paid for gas for the Shay, his truck and Rusty, he'd be better off just renting a trailer...

Not a hundred percent sure- it appears to me to be a '27 or so, T Model Roadster pickup- but it has been heavily modified, with the body channelled and the top chopped. It also looks to be running a Model "A" grille of 1929.... It is running a Flat Head engine, probably what is known as a 53B. Very big in traditional hot rodding circles. Quite probably very close to what you would've saw on the road around the late 50's as a hot rod for a kid- only now the "kid" has money and finished it to a much greater detail. The wheels on it are known as "Artillery Wheels" and bring a pretty penny by themselves, and that pair of Offenhauser heads probably cost the owner a couple grand. Flatheads ain't cheap. I DO know that the man stated it had a 5 speed in it, which would enable it to be driven distances. I was very much in like with this little jewel. Oh, for deeper pockets.....full of money, of course.

One of the FEW bodystyles of Ford trucks Bro Papa hates. Perversly enough, one of the FEW bodystyles of Ford trucks that I like. :laughhard: This'n was done EXACTLY to my taste....I love the color, the wheels, the stance, and it is running a fuel injected 5.0 out of a mustang, complete with overdrive transmission. No wild body mods, so anyone can tell what it originally looked like...I tell you , it is truely one of few Ford trucks I'd be proud to own. Stunning.

1966 Mustang. A V8/auto car, I was surprised to find it somewhat reasonably priced at $8500. These little cars are very popular for collectors, but as they made a ton of 'em, they're not super expensive. A mint show example might be, but nice drivers, like this one, can be picked up under $10k anytime. There is a HUGE aftermarket for them as well, so any part needed is available. One of the cars I would strongly recommend for anyone wanting to get into the collector car hobby. You almost can't lose money on them, as there is always someone wanting them. :thumbsup2:

The base model '57 four door. A humble little family car in '57, powered by a 235 straight six like Sam's, they purr along the highway lookin'. Being a four door, it'll never bring the skyhigh prices its two door BelAire brethren will, but it still has that striking design that has made a '57 Chevy THE collector car for years. I'd have driven this little jewel home in a heartbeat, only stopping to remove the fender skirts. Owner was begging for someone to take it home, pricing it at a reasonable $6800 or best offer.

Proof that 1) there is no accounting for taste, 2) Some Corvette owners are idiots and 3) there's a butt for every seat, this poor 1968 Corvette WOULD have been high on my desirability list, if it were stock. Sadly, it wasn't, but I believe it found a new owner, judging by conversations I overheard while walking by. NOTE- while it was claimed to be a '68, the rear bumper appears to be a '74 or newer, as does the front. Real '68's had pretty chrome bumpers on each end...

A good cheap little Fairlane collector car, probably a '63 or so. I don't remember exactly and don't know enough about them to accurately identify. I do remember it had a 260 V8 and appeared to be a solid little car....

Very good taste, my friend. 1967 Mustang. Not quite as popular as the '64-66 Mustangs they resemble, they are, if I recall correctly, a little larger overall. Still good parts availability and they are becoming more popular. A car you could buy, drive and maintain for ten years, and sell for the same money you paid, without losing a penny.

   I've yet to own this bodystyle 'vette. Quite truthfully, they are fairly low powered, rough as a buckboard, and not well finished, as a rule. And that was when they were new..... still, to me, it is one of the prettiest bodystyles Corvette produced. This one is a 1974-1977 model.

I THINK this is a '32 Ford truck. I like it, but it is chopped a little much for my taste, and is a little TOO low. Reason I say that, the seats in it were made into the floor of the truck, kinda "scooped" down below the floor. If they hit a piece of steel in the roadway just right, the driver and passenger will be singing tenor and probably will never have kids. :biglaugh: They butt ain't 8 inches from the roadway when they ridin' in this..... :o

This '66 Chevy was built by a good friend of mine who has money and a fascination with all vehicles Chevrolet made in '66. At one time, he owned every bodystyle Chevrolet made that year except the Corvette. I think he still does, and is looking for the 'vette.
This truck was frame off restored and upgraded. Runs a 454/auto, has air, disc brakes, all the bells and whistles. You could eat off of the frame, it is that clean. He was willing to sell it for $18.5. Sounds high, until you realize it is basically a brand new truck for half the price of a new one, and if cared for, it WON'T depreciate..

Actually- I agree. Maybe not what I'd choose if I were given a choice of anything there- that would be a '30's Packard, Duesenberg, ect- but a cool little car. I'd lose the granny hubcaps and put some chrome reverse wheels on it, and enjoy it. Not bad priced either.

It was even better in person. The paint job was one that changed ever so slightly when you looked at it from different angles. Had a very faint glitter to it. That was his pride and joy. But after Katrina, he came here to help rebuild, so he sold that, and the house it's sitting in front of.

This was owned by the friend that owned the '66 Chevy truck I commented on early. Beautifull done car, but the first time I saw it, I asked Gene, "What possessed you to paint neon lime green stripes on it?!?! Why not a nice white or red?" His answer- "I wanted to be different." :laughhard: Mission accomplished, bud. Mission accomplished. The car actually appears more black in person, even though it has a green sheen here.

While I agree somewhat with your thinking, and the fact that the Bel Air is more expensive, the fact is, ANY two door '57 Chevy is big bucks. Especially if they are as nice as this one was. While miles out of my price range- at that pri Tce, it was out of my DREAM range- it probably wasn't badly priced, as I know of a similar genuine Bel-Air that is on the market at around $70,000. If you want '57 Chevy looks, you nearly have to be 1) Wealthy or 2) settle for a four door.

I quite agree. Folks, this is a 1946 Hudson pickup, that I've heard referred to as a "BigBoy". These trucks were somwhat more car like, sitting lower to the ground, having better ride quality and comfort than your average pickup of the '40's. Rarely will you find one in any condition, much less running. Way ahead of their time. I think this is the first I have saw in person and it was reasonably solid. I'd love to know what the owner wanted for it, but I don't recall seeing a price. Also- look at the rear fender. See that "well" in it? It is for the spare tire to fit into when mounted on the bed side. It didn't come that way. Some former owner, probably years ago, carefully hammered that dent into that fender. You could still see the hammer marks....

First of all- the cop who was threatening me with a taser is a wuss, and one of my close friends. Only thing caused me worry about him is, he used to work for me and I might've denied him vacation in the past... :P
The steaks came from the local Butcher shop, John's Meat Market. I watched them cut them. Absolutly fabulous, and a treat I rarely indulge in. Mini was fortunant and timed his visit just right- when I was hankerin' fer a slab o' beef....
The pic of Lou and Chey- the reason I get up every morning, and the GREATEST thing to ever happen to me. Without them, I'd be nothing. Period.
And the singing- Lou loves to sing and has a voice of an angel. If she has a piano, she will lose herself for hours. Me, I just sit and enjoy. Unless it is ten o'clock and I have to work the next day... :biglaugh:

Ah, yes, the Graham. If I'm not mistaken- going off of memory only here- these were made by a company originally known as "Graham-Paige". I would consider them more as competition for Cadillac and Lincoln, they were more of an upper end car. I want to say this one is probably around a 1929 model. What I've read indicates Graham introduced it's first models in 1927, restyling them in 1932..... The fenders are more curved than the early '20's models would have been. The wood wheels were pretty much a thing of the past by 1928 in most cars, with just a few companies soldiering on with them...
This car would make a sweet "gangster ride". If I had it, I'd redo it, get a coupla fake tommy guns and Mini, along with his british car driver hat- I'm being nice, I normally would call it a gay french artist hat- and terrorize the public. :freaky2:

These 'stangs have never been hugely popular, but they are starting to come into their own. You'll probably never see the day when they are as popular as the original, though.

Two beautiful examples of one of my favorite cars- a '55 Chevy four door and a two door. I've always lovedc "tri-fives", the '55- '57 Chevys. They are one of the high marks of car styling....

All of these photos are resized on photobucket. But for whatever reason, they are not showing up smaller on here. Hopefully that will correct itself soon.
I don't have a problem seeing them and I'm using a phone even.

This is the most striking feature of a 1956 Ford Crown Victoria "Glasstop". Very beautiful, but sadly heated up the interior something awful, and as a result was not as resounding a success as Ford wanted...

One of the most beautiful pickup designs of all time in my opinion.... Dodge trucks of the early thirties were gorgeous. A few short years later, they lost their way. '39 through the post war trucks were not nearly as pretty...

Big pictures.
All pictures are resized. Photobucket is driving me crazy. On mobile, all of them are small... *sigh*
Still big pictures. Maybe photobucket just hasn't updated its links yet.
You mention mobile. Are you posting these pics from your phone?
If you put them on your computer, there's a freeware picture editor/media player that has a neat trick. You can point it at a folder full of pics and it will resize all the pics in that folder to whatever ratio you set. Also save all the pics as whatever you want, jpg, gif, bmp, etc. No more resizing pics one at a time.
Photobucket isnt updating their links. Its on their end for whatever reason.
The dash was absolutely beautiful....

This car was awesome. His grandfather bought it, sold it to a daughters boyfriend, years later, the son found it, took 10 years to talk the guy out of it, bought it, then the son and grandson restored it. All that had been done with it since restoration (in the 70's) was the fenders had been painted. Absolutely flawless.

I made several instant friends right there.

I was snapping photos when this kid walked up. His mom and grandma started hollering at him to pose, and you could tell he didnt want to do it. They were harping on him, and finally he gave in and grinned the stupidest grin he could muster, just to spite them. Any other time, I would have thought he deserved a swat, but in that situation, and the way they were carrying on, they deserved this. LOL

I love the detail of this truck. And I love the wonder it produces...it makes you want to order some fresh peanuts, a hot dog, and...well...you get the picture.
This truck is really rare...a 1913 Creators body mounted on a model T chassis, I think, although the front end looks more like a Mack or something.......someone told me once that there are only a handful still in existance. This one supposedly is completely functional, although I've never saw it in action.

Nope. 1924 (I think) "RedBug". These little cars were available with a "fifthwheel" single cylinder motor or electric, which is what this one is.
They were advertised as "everybody's car" with a top speed of twelve miles an hour, with no fuss, no gears, just get in and go... They were also advertised as a young boy's wheels.... The cost? $150.

Supposedly they rolled one of these down a cliff, then started it up and drove off at the bottom- as a promotional stunt proving how durable and safe they were. As unusual as it is to see an Airflow, it'd be a crying shame to replicate that advertisment..

Marmon, I believe. Marmon was built originally in Indianapolis, starting around 1902. They were a premimium brand, which led to their downfall. They went under in 1933- the Depression and their facsination with V16, V12, ect were too much.. highly prized by collectors now.
