Good morning everyone.

We accomplished absolutely nothing yesterday.  Didn't even go anywhere to watch fireworks.

Yeah the only thing I did was go pick Chey up and go get dinner. I did NOTHING constructive yesterday and today is not looking much better. I was late to work because I could not find my work keys. I have THREE keychains all with different, necessary keys. Of course, the one I needed this morning would be hiding. Finally found it in Lou's car.

Quick nerd question: Why don't you just use your phone to hotspot? I don't even have a "home internet" any more. I just use my phone for everything.

idk the answer to this except i have too many things that connect to the internet. lol amazon alexas. smart plugs. tvs. phones. work computer. i work from home too so the hotspot isn't always the best. if i use the phone or the battery gets low it will interrupt the hotspot.

I didn't watch any fireworks either. Hubbs was at work.
I have narrowed down my boxes to about 13 left. From approximately 65. lol I was rocking and rolling yesterday.

Cell phone tower internet is super slow compared to my fiber optic home internet.  Nor can I get unlimited on a hotspot plan like I can with home internet. Really important when you're a YouTube addict.

We have a hurricane coming through Texas. It'll be a tropical storm by the time it gets up here. Texans aren't really scared of the hurricane as much as losing power in 90 something degree weather.

Roscoe

Part of your hurricane escaped and has lost its water at my house this morning. Either that, or it sent out advance friends. For about three hours it dumped a ton of water on us. Still overcast but not raining right now.

Back @work today. It was SO nice having four days off in a row. Hubby was with me Thurs & Friday at home. I didn't get anything done except a couple loads of laundry and got stuff ready for Sunday morning church/class.

The Purple Fuzzy

We got rain last night but nothing like this. We've had multiple tornado warnings and flash flood warnings.

Lynx

The lady who sells me goat milk is VERY disappointed in that hurricane. We were supposed to get some good rain out of it, but then it changed its mind.

Personally I don't mind at all. The less it rains here, the less I have to mow.

Lord, it rained here last night. A lot. And there are some limbs down. I haven't had time to look and see the extent yet.
I had to cancel this week's bible study because of Covid. I am so tired of that stuff. Almost half the church has it- and they haven't been around each other. Started with one couple, in the middle of the week calling and saying they had it and would be out. It's been none stop since... I took a member without transportation to town yesterday and by Walmart, and picked up a couple of covid tests since Lou had been exposed and wanted to make sure she was good. My saint got one too, because "Well, I HAVE been feeling poorly". He has other health issues though so he had not thought anything of it. Got home- yep, positive. And he'd been tooling around with me all day.  :pound:
My hypochondriac self immediately took the test. Nope, negative.

Today's supposed to be our bad storms possibly from good ole Beryl. Of course Athena is with me today, so I'm sure she'll be moaning and groaning most of the afternoon, haha. I am going to be working on "sprucing up" our area of the basement where we are supposed to go in case of a tornado. It won't be ready for this evening, but I'm hoping it'll be ready for our next threat. Pallets on the floor in case of water leaking in (our basement is somehow  keeping itself together in some spots), hopefully a thick industrial rug on top of that, then our camping chairs or something similar that can be comfier. I'm going to keep the chairs and our emergency supplies in a big plastic tub so nothing gets into things throughout the year.

Just got my shipment in from ModLW yesterday. I LOVE their athletic skirts. I love that the shorts are hidden underneath in the ones I bought. I might end up buying some with the leggings for the fall/winter though. I've tried the Snoga in the past and they just were such heavy material that I guess I had the wrong size and it was hard to feel like they were staying up, haha. These ModLW ones have drawstring waist so you can tighten it as well.

I did order an athletic top and a pencil skirt from Snoga to try that product out since they were having a sale last week. That arrives today. I ordered some dresses from Dainty Jewells as well.. they're usually hit and miss for me. I don't know where everyone wears all those dresses to, because they're mostly all fancier than my church is for service. I did get a few winners tho! I'm excited about one dress b/c the theme for SS classes in the fall is Royal Court/Castle, so we are going to do a "dress up" day where they can wear a dress that makes them feel like a princess (or a prince for our one boy lol). My dress fits that bill for sure.. not sure when I'll wear it otherwise tho.

I've been trying to find a good athletic skirt for riding my bicycle.  Everything I'm finding so far in mid calf skirts is polyester and super hot.  :sadbounce:  The only thing I've been able to find in cotton is 20 inch skorts that are knee length when standing but blow up in the wind showing half my upper leg making me feel naked.

The moving company came today and hauled off all the boxes and paper. I am officially box free.
Well almost, I have like 5 boxes of books left to do for my big bookshelf. But 5 out of approximately 65+ is pretty good I'd say! lol
SO HAPPY to have all of that hauled out.

We got the Beryl rain yesterday/Sunday. Wasn't too bad though and it blew in a "cool" front. LOL
It was so nice outside this morning. Alas, it never lasts very long.

T-minus 6 days until Mom and Dad come down for the week! EEK!! They're gonna spend our vacation with us since we originally were meeting them at a beach in Mississippi before our big move happened. Then after they leave here they're gonna visit two of Daddy's sisters who also live in OK.

Beryl is dumping on Indiana today and tonight. Had to join ALJC Indiana camp via livestream because the rain is too heavy to safely drive in.

Lynx

I don't know what y'all are doing with Beryl down there, but we had a spinoff storm come through here like it was late for an appointment in Georgia. It was going so fast I expected to see a state trooper pull it over.

LOL. He's all boy.. drives me crazy in Sunday school sometimes but he's a sweetheart before you pull your hair out completely. He's only like 5 haha.

https://modlw.com/  <==== MOD Lifewear. They have free shipping for $100 and up.

They have several length options. They have styles with shorts that are hidden underneath or a legging that goes past your knee. So far I really like these.

I'm doing the kids class this Wednesday and next and then the 31st. Tonight's class I just found out last night that I was doing. I'll have to scramble at lunch to organize that.

That 4 day weekend last week really messed up how I feel about working this week. LOL.

Roscoe

Morning. Back at work... ready for the weekend..

:hi: It's sunny and nice this morning, upper 70s. I'm sure it'll be in upper 90s by this afternoon.

I'm trying to avoid people for multiple reasons. I've developed a cough....this combined with general "blah" and know exposure make me think Covid. But if I take a test, it's going to trigger all kinds of issues if it's positive, as I have a ton scheduled next week...

But think of all the good quality recliner napping you will get in!

I don't want Covid back in its 2020-2021 vibes again because of the tragic amount of loss that was happening. BUT - I do really miss the freedom it gave me from everyone's plans for me. I was free to just go home and rest after work. I wasn't being asked to do a zillion things and go to so many places. I'm a hermit.. I like being in my zone of comfort. I do like people, but I only like being around them on my terms. LOL. Other than the fear of getting sick and the sadness of loss, there was an element of peace within that timeframe. I feel so selfish for even saying that when our own family was rocked with loss from it. I would never wish those losses on anyone else for sure. I feel like I have to defend my feeling that way and saying those things tho. It was the only time in my entire life that I didn't have to feel guilty for not wanting to go somewhere or do something.

Lynx

Yeah... It WAS pretty sweet.

I'm not an introvert. I'm just incredibly indolent. It was awfully nice to not have any plans at all.
