Get to miss 2 hours of work tomorrow and still get paid for it. Unfortunately it's to get another rabies vaccination.

Found out a friends father passed away last night. Trip to Knoxville sometime this weekend.

I'm about to tell 2 of my bridesmaids to take a hike and quit trying to run my wedding. They've already had theirs they don't need to control mine.

I could recommend some good hiking trails in that area.   :hypocrite:

:hi:
Morning, all. Made it through the first night with the cpap machine. It'll take some getting used too, but all in all- not bad. Dozed off around !0 ish, woke up at 3:30 ish feeling recharged. Made myself go back to sleep until 4:45.. Now I'm at work, on my friday, thank the Lord.

And if you think of it- the young man I spoke of the other day that came to my church, Chad, could use your prayers. After the initial meeting of Chad at church, then the call a few days later where he was intoxicated and wanted to talk, I honestly thought we would never see him again. He's stayed in contact with me, though, and I've been able to speak frankly to him.
He and his family are going through some very tough times, and just when things were looking up for him- he'd gotten a job- it all came crashing down. Their lights were cut off, and he was diagnosed with double pneumonia and put in the hospital. I've gone by numerous times, as has the pastor and another minister..
He looked at me Tuesday and told me "I never would've thought I'd have a friend that was a cop, but you have proved yourself to me." When I left, he hugged me in a bear hug, and thanked me over and over. He told my pastor that we, as in our church, were his family, and that he wanted his life changed.
There's already changes happening in his family, changes that are dramatic. His girlfriend/wife, who told him after their first visit that she wanted nothing to do with Pentecost, came with him for potluck Sunday, brought a dish, and was dressed as any holiness woman would be...
I may get disappointed, but guys, I feel good about this one. God's giving us that revival!

How exciting!  It's no accident that you all are in his life right before all this. God is reaching for this man.  What a Divine season.

Heather, do you have to get those often or just when in contact with an infected animal?

In other news, I've been having a bit of fun with Nathan. Yesterday I put a carrot stick in his sandwich. He is not crazy about fresh veggies.  It gave him a good chuckle that I "snuck" it in there in an attempt to keep him healthy.  Well, I made rolls yesterday and I always have 2 rolls worth of dough more than I can fit in my pan of 15 so I make Nathan a hamburger bun or two. I made a good size one yesterday and this morning took a tsp worth of bread out of the inside top bun and put a fresh Brussel sprout in there. He may or may not eat it, just because.  Lol. It'll make him laugh though!  And doesn't ruin the rest of his sandwich.

Lynx

What's wrong with Brussels sprouts? They're good.

Your hamburger buns sounds like what I do with leftover sourdough that is too little to make another bread loaf.

In local news, does everybody know what time it is? That's right... It's eggnog season! It's the little things that make me happy. I'm always excited when the stores start carrying it again.

Bro. Bobby I have a friend who tinkers a bit with ham radio up here.  He's Bryan and he's a rather neat guy, one of my best friends.  How do ham radio guys arrange to "meet" on some frequency at some time?

If he is at least a "general" class holder, all he has to do is let me know the time and frequency....Probably have the best luck on 40 meters. Do you happen to know his callsign? Mine is KF5TIE...

And morning, all. All I can say today is God Bless the inventor of the CPAP machine. I've slept better in the last two days than I have in the past ten years.....

Hello.

I'm sleepy. My bed feels so lovely right now, but I must get up and get ready for my day.
Have you slapped that one dude from Indiana with a pie in the face today?

Well. I've had a decent,if somewhat boring, day. Went and got a haircut, had breakfast with a few old friends- old as in aged- and listened to some of their war stories, (literally, as two of the five fought in the Vietnam war, one had an uncle who was a Medal of Honor WWII winner, and one was a former "spook"- intelligence- and the other two were cops of over twenty years). It was enlightining to say the least, and I felt honored to be included in their conversation.
Then I had lunch with another group of friends, ham radio friends this time, and had my lunch bought for me. Came home and fought my new antenna to a draw. It evidently was afraid of heights, but after a bee sting, numerous trips up and down a ladder, and a few whacks with a hammer, It is around thirty five feet up, and I talked to Buenas Aires the first time I keyed the mic. So. I'm calling it a good day, even though the stupid bee/yellow jacket/ infernal demon left a mark that is still throbbing an hour later. Stupid beast. And I didn't even react fast enough to kill it.
And that's sharing/whining ala Roscoe.  :P

Hello I've been running on caffeine (dark chocolate) all day today because I didn't get enough sleep last night because I was up too late cooking eleven pans of cinnamon rolls for my aunt diane's bazaar this morning but I made it through the day and now I'm probably about to crash but it doesn't matter because I got everything I wanted to accomplish accomplished today.  :hyper:

I started this day with a lot more money than I am ending it with, but I got a few bills paid early.  As in, I didn't HAVE to pay them this paycheck, but I had the money so why not?  Light bill, Roth IRA installment, gophone's next month on my phone, ministerial dues, plus a few cans of salmon I found at the salvage grocery for cheap.

I also picked up a CD at Wal-Mart.  That is against my religion, paying full price for a CD, but it was a Duck Dynasty christmas album.  I've never seen the show but my uncle Fred loves it so I'm guessing he'll like the CD.

Jason - that's insane!

Roscoe - Benadryl makes me go to sleep. No, it doesn't make me drowsy. It makes me SLEEEEEEP. As in, I'm not staying awake no matter WHAT. It's kind creepy, actually. :o

:beret:

I won't take Benadryl anymore because it makes me feel like my body is shutting down.

When I was a kid I was on bubble gum medicine and benadryl alllll the stinking time for sore throats and ear aches and all that stuff....

I don't recall anything ill about it then....

But Benadryl makes me tired, but I could take one today, go to sleep tonight and wake up feeling like poop, I don't sleep it off when I sleep it makes me feel bleh later.....  But it's worse than tired, it makes me feel like I'm just slowly dying.  Like my body systems are shutting down and my heart's going to just stop beating or something.

I dunno.

Anyhow.

Heather, do you have to get those often or just when in contact with an infected animal?

They are not required  but highly recommended in my line of work. Especially since we've had a rabies problem in the area recently. I've had 2 shots and they will do some bloodwork in a couple weeks to see how much of the vaccine is in my system. They will do that test every year and as long as I have the correct amount of vaccine then I'm good. If it dips I have to get a booster. But most people do not boosters.

Today is engagement picture day and dinner with friends. Also we this week we booked the church and date for our ceremony this summer. If anyone is interested it will be May 31 in Johnson City, TN.
