True story.

I just learned a cool trick to making a bigger harvest of my tomato weed.  I just need to pluck the flowers off until it is about knee high.  That allows the actual plant to get bigger/stronger before it's efforts go towards tomatoes. Cool huh?  Or you all probably knew that, I'm usually the last to know.

Nancy Hanks Lincoln (February 5, 1784 – October 5, 1818) was the mother of Abraham Lincoln (the 16th President of the United States) and of Sarah Lincoln after her marriage to Thomas Lincoln. After the family moved from Kentucky to Spencer County, Indiana, Nancy Lincoln died of milk sickness at the Little Pigeon Creek settlement. That fall several people died of the condition at the village, including her maternal aunt and uncle Elizabeth (Hanks) and Thomas Sparrow, with whom Nancy had spent years as a child.

I hope I'm not too late on saying hello to TeaBag. We HAVE missed you! :)

At work, but leaving now. Woo! I worked 45 min over because our truck was so big today. It's ridiculously hot in our backroom! Ahhh!

I'm about to head up to the church to do some paperwork..probably be there for hours again. Gotta get our project done ASAP! Please keep us in your prayers still. Things are slightly improved but there's still too much up in the air. Ya know, humans get involved and the feathers and tar are blown by the fan, haha.

Did anyone else read the story about the guy riding his bike to work in Panama City FL and a 300 pound black bear ran out of the woods and knocked him off his bike and then ran back into the woods?

My question is exactly how do you make that sound believable when explaining to your boss why you were late for work? lol

I'm not sure you could make that sound believeable.  I didn't know they even HAD bears there.

Chseeads

The article said milk sickness was from eating meat or drinking milk from a cow that'd ate white snakeroot, I think it called it.  Some sort of plant with a certain toxin in it that carried through to the milk and would kill ya.  :freaky:

It's the Florida Black Bear they are all over Fl and AL. A few years ago one "scientist" was running around saying they were extinct or almost extinct. I guess the bear was just trying to set the record straight. lol

John, how is your mom?  Are YOU feeling any better?  Saying a prayer for you.

Newsman

She did much better over the weekend, not as well Monday, but better than part of the ast 10 days. I don't know if that makes sense. Its' been a topsy-turvy past 10-12 days.

She is in a hospital in a town about 30 miles from where I work, 40 from where I live. After talking to one of my two sisters who live closer two or three times yesterday before I went over, they called me as I was getting a bite to eat before going over.

After some preliminaries, they told me they had signed a DNR for my mother. They told me after the fact. While I had previously said I would not fight them over it (as in court) and they were apparently pushed by the doctor/hospital for it, I received no advance word. I told one of them last night that they are my sisters and I love them, but I would never forget it..

Unless Mom makes major improvemets, I'll be looking for something to do around the holidays, unless I just want to work. Speakingh of work, the general manager has been great. They arranged a two week rental for me after my truck partially burned, and they keep urging me to take some time off if I need to, and get some of the others to help me.

The Lord has blessed me, and I finally did get the insurance check yesterday on the truck.

Thanks for asking, and for the prayer. I still attempt to encourage others, and continue to smile at the children who seem
to like me despite not knowing me from VP Biden :)

I'm looking at taking off once or twice before starting 'fall' sports coverage next month. Looking at possibilities. One would be to go back to Pennsylvania next month. The other would be get a cabin, stock it with groceries, turn up the A/C and the phone off, and not come out. :)

I'm still feeling strangely odd, but surely it should not be odd that I feel strange! :)
