Well it's good that Rusty can keep a cool head now.

Also good that at least your members call instead of just not showing up.

Yesterday was my first day back on the job after a week of pretending the world does not exist. Today is a corporate inspection. Oh well. At least I had a day to get ready for it.

I'm with you Bobby - Bring back the summer please. Spring and Summer are my favs. I'm a July baby so true summer girl here.

Hold on to your mittens. My phone says it's about to get much, much colder.

Morning. Yeah, they are calling for bone chilling cold here too, maybe Saturday. On the plus side- they are now saying it MAY be a dry air so no precipitation. Not sure whether to be happy about that as no church postponements should be necessary, or to mourn for the lack of inclement weather days. It's like getting everything I hate about winter (cold) and none of what I enjoy (free days off).
In sharing, Chey is going to college for the first day of the new semester this morning.
Bless her heart she had been adamant that she was taking a semester off, while I begged her not to, because I was afraid she would not go back. She simply wasn't having it so I didn't budget appropriately. Thursday "Dad, I'm going to talk to the Counselor/advisor for next semester. Cool. Thirty minutes late- "Dad, can you come to the college and pay? I've decided to go this semester too." Dad scrambled and liquidated some savings...sheesh.
And, bless her heart- was coming to church last night in my nice truck...my modern truck I try to keep spotless...and she backed into her S10. The S10 now has a slightly more bent front bumper- which we were going to replace anyway. And my spotless truck- now has a harelipped back bumper. She was sobbing about ruining Daddy's nice truck and I had to clam her down and tell her it was ok, it could have been much worse.
Hid the fact I wanted to cry looking at my bumper.
And I'm back at work. Bah.

My vehicles would probably make you cry. I have an extremely cavalier attitude about how the outer shell looks. As long as it doesn't break anything I want to use or impair gas mileage, I don't really care if you hit my car. Don't even bother reporting it to your insurance.

Morning all. Thank God it is Friday. Got some home visits to do. Then the weekend. Ahhhh.....

I'm not ready for more freezing weather. :-(

New vocabulary term: Quaintify. To pinpoint exactly how obsolete something is.

Looks like the snow all hit south of us... which is fine with me.

Nelle

I'm so done with cold weather. We've had the ice, the power outages, the snow.. and it's snowing (not gonna amount to anything) again this morning. It's so way below freezing. I need it to move along. That doesn't mean I'm ready for Spring and its tornado weather, but I just want to not be freezing cold IN my house.

Roscoe

I am with Nelle on this. The novelty passed with the ten inches of snow a couple weeks ago. The cold is completely ridiculous and I'm over it. Twenty degrees now....and that's AFTER it has warmed up.
Bring Spring. Bring Summer. Bring it all. Just keep the precipitation and cold. :pound:  :pound:

My phone says a low of 8° tonight. Then it starts getting warmer. Not warm, but relatively warmer than 8°.

My dog has refused to leave his dog house for a long, long time.

Me also. Man, I am tired. And slightly sick. Tired- I went to bed at 1130pm last night, not unusual. At 1250am a water alarm went off at the church- new deal from church mutual, we have three sensors through the building and they are supposed to detect water, and freezing conditions. I'd made sure the water was left running, all doors open and heat on. However given our recent history with water damages, I got up and drove to church to check. We were good and then I didn't know whether to be happy- or angry the sensor woke me up for nothing.
As a result I got home at 230 and had to get up at 530. Needless to say I am wore out and grumpy. And I have to teach bible study while feeling like total crud.

Sad news. I just saw on fb that Melody Bush passed.

Same McDonald's I've been working at. Same reason I started working there. It doesn't pay much but it's an easy job. And I am indolent.

The news about mel crushes me. I literally used her TONIGHT in my teaching, without calling names...was teaching on recovery and how she had said that she learned it wasnt just for addictions. Then I came home and got the call from taco and elona...
I so wish we had made it to Chattanooga to see her like we talked about.

Reminds me how precious life is...and chel, ike, all of us...we have to  get together sometime. I use the excuse Im too busy but man. :sadbounce:

So sorry to hear about Mel. She had asked a question on facebook the other day, I responded and she never responded back.  She posted several times after that, so I figured she was busy.

I've been telling my husband, it's like folks are worshiping certain politicians.
