Howdy howdy - not much to report here. Car is still in the shop.
They called yesterday asking if I could bring the loaner in and swap it for another loaner.

The new loaner I got is a 2021 BMW x3 SUV. I actually kinda like it. And that's saying a lot cus I dont like SUV's lol.
Alas I would still rather have my car back. Sigh.

We looked at a beautiful Lincoln the other day- one owner, low miles. The age kept me from financing it as long as I wanted -it was an '18. They had a '23 BMW, probably BMW's entry level that was very attractively priced, but I really wonder what church folks would think if the pastor pulls up in a BMW.
Some folks are weird that way....
And Lou kinda wants a car, not an SUV any longer. Sadly, Most American companies- I personally have never had a Japanese car other than Miatas- have gone straight SUV. Not everyone needs a giant people mover.

Dental bills...

I let my teeth go for so long, ignoring my mother, that by now I am just pulling them as they go bad. I'm down to 12. When I get down to few enough to not be effective at all, I'll pull the last few and get dentures.

Kids, brush your teeth. Your mama wasn't kidding.

Yeah... I heard a comedian talking about people who are quick to tell you what a great deal they got on something, as though it's a contest to see who can save the most money. What I wanted to tell the comedian, through the YouTube screen, is that sometimes that is a matter of self-defense against criticism.

Won't be much to see. I found a big triangle bag, and if the online measurements and my tape measure are accurate it will just exactly fit in the triangle in my touring bike. I'm going to stuff all the parts in there. Waterproof too.

Funny thing is husband and I do Walmart delivery (Spark) and he was like people are prob wondering why this person in a beemer is rolling up delivering their groceries LOL.

I also don't understand why they've gone the way of SUV's too and arent making as many cars. It's weird.

I heard on the radio the other morning that many of the vehicle companies are going to lower budget vehicles because the demand for the 'luxury' size/styles are decreasing - I'm assuming inflation etc.

Well, even your base models have what used to be considered luxury options. CarPlay, leather, cruise, power everything...
Kinda hard to justify paying an extra 20k for cooled seats and a sunroof most never open, especially when the base vehicles cost so much.

Fall sickness has caught me. Started off with the sinus pressure yesterday. Now it's congestion, stuffy runny nose, ears backed up, and chills just started tonight.

Roscoe

Urgh. Hate that you are sick Tia.
Back at work at the office where everything is blocked.
Absolutly hate this office. Depressing spirit here and a coworker that I suspect is the cause of that.
I cant wait until  this afternoon when i can escape.

Been a miserable day. I'm at work but still sick.

I'm trying to bring back an old tradition.

In certain parts of Britain it used to be customary to serve eggs benedict on a hubcap.

Because, as everybody knows, there's no place like Chrome for the hollandaise.

Speech to text is NOT a friend of my accent. It has caused me to say, lo, many things, I have not said. :laughhard:
It and autocorrect are the bane of my existence. I have a group chat I am in with a couple of ministers, and I'm pleased to note it doesn't like them either.
Morning all. Back at work. Couldn't get coffee this morning because I was out of coffee filters. I didn't think anyone ever ran out of them. I'm not sure I've bought more than one package in our marriage, so I guess they had the right to be used up, but it was majorly annoying when I wanted coffee this morning.

You must either not drink coffee very often or perhaps you bought a trailer truck load last time. Uncle Fred goes through those things like toilet paper. Of course he also goes through coffee at the rate of a big Folgers container every three or four days.

:o  It's November 22nd. Where did this year go?!

At the same time... I'm anxiously excitedly waiting for next week to arrive so I can be off work AND in Arkansas with my mom and dad. I know I'll at least get TWO whole days of veggie status with no care in the world other than eating my weight in food and sleeping and what to watch on the television with my parents (probably Dad will choose football which will mean me reading a book, goofing off on my phone, playing a game or puzzle with my mom). Pajama day for two days straight! WOOHOO.

I've had caramel cappuccino already this morning instead of my normal OJ (which I should probably drink now instead of a second cappuccino).. We start at 7 on Fridays, so I've had time to get super hyper caffeinated. I don't get a lot of caffeine anymore, so it REALLY affects me now.

Got to church at 8. Home at 9. Only problem was the 8 was AM and the 9 was PM. But we've made progress...about 3/4 the sanctuary done..

I'm pleased. I was worried it would be too dark.

Nice carpet. Goes better with the wall, and better for hiding stains too. Somebody with a good eye for matching colors picked that carpet.

I shall take that as a compliment, since I was the one that picked it out. :laughhard:  Finished the sanctuary and had church in it tonight. A few people determined to break it in and had a bit of a shout fest.  Tomorrow, my friend Bro Wheatley, who drove in from Kentucky to help put it down, and myself will redo the platform and some trim pieces. Looking forward to calling it done...

You don't have a ladies committee?

Every church needs a ladies committee comprised of the wives, who will handle matters like the color of the carpet in the sanctuary. They will get samples, get more samples, get more samples, hold them against the wall, argue a lot, and eventually come to a decision that half the group is ecstatic about while the other half grumbles a lot about it for the rest of time.

Even now, 23 years after our new sanctuary was finished, occasionally you will hear a random woman comment about how atrocious the carpet is or how it is a perfect choice. "Well I thought we should have gone with..."

Nope. I generally seek advice from several of the ladies. I was talking with the church secretary though and she said " You know Papa (Bro Wilson) would just do it and people could deal with it. " I thought about it, decided she was right and I was nearly 100% guaranteed I would not please everyone. And thought " I like it. It matches. It's better than what we had.  I want it". I called and ordered it and that was that. No one else saw it until I opened the boxes and we went to work installing it.
Surprisingly- everyone, men and women alike, have raved over it and genuinely like it. I will agree with one sister who said- "It makes the whole church look bigger and more inviting". I don't care to lay another strip for a long time though. Myself and one other brother the last three days, and a few others from Saturday have laid in the neighborhood of 2200 sq feet. My knees ain't happy and I didn't spend as much time on them as my brother did on his. I don't know how he will function. :biglaugh:

Speaking as a church treasurer/secretary.. I 100% agree with yours, haha. Our pastor (and wife) pick out our decor and I'd back them all the way against anyone about it LOL. Thankfully I know they aren't crazy eccentric. :)

@Work for a half day. I was able to wrangle our bosses into letting us have half day off PAID today since they're out of town on a "business trip" looking at equipment for the company. I'm thrilled because this means I can get an earlier start for Arkansas after work. :)

Roscoe

I'm stuck until 6pm tonight..then over to church. I made a mistake I guess- I announced " I know Thursday is Thanksgiving and some will be out of town, some cooking, etc- but I am NOT canceling service. I will be there, and we will either have a prayer meeting of the like, but the doors will be open"
Somehow, it is apparent through interactions on the church family chat page that I observe, but rarely participate in, that they HEARD- "Pastor Moses said no church since everyone is cooking".
I get concerned...they hear what I say not, and totally miss others. I posted on the church fb page pictures, and a message that in the SECOND sentence stated that there was trim to be completed and the stairs to our upstairs fellowship hall have NOT been completed yet, but we would next week.
The second comment-" Are the stairs finished?" Really? I despair of humanity. :laughhard:
