If I didn't have sign team, and didn't have to get this free food for the homeless this morning, I would be still in bed and not even care.

I'm hurting and sick. *sigh*
Have you slapped that one dude from Indiana with a pie in the face today?

HeatherB:  Sounds like the old "Divide and conquer" trick.  Which is one of satan's favorite tricks, I've seen it work many times.
"Do you sing at church?"
"Yes I sing at church, I sing at home, at work, in the car, at the supermarket, at Wal-Mart..."

Heather, I'm your friend. Regardless of whether or not we ever get to do coffee together. :) *hugs*

Nothing much to share, but I wanted to swing by GP and say howdy to everyone. :hi:

Whew. Long day. But it's over and I can rest.

Just got home, turned on the hose to finish filling the pool, may finally get a swim later.

Now the air conditioning in the house is acting up. :smirk2: it's set on 73, and the inside temp says its 85...UMMM...thats a problem...considering that the radio said it got up to 100 here today.

I'm fixing to go tear it apart and see what the deal is.

Yep. Coils are froze up. Which means we have to turn it off all the way and let it thaw and dry out. Maybe all night. Oy. Or I could plug in the space heater in the hallway.

I think that's what I'll do. Then go get in my pool! Yay.

Well, I consider Gp regulars as friends so I it throws me when you're get but clearly saying you don't have church/apostolic friends.  I talk to you on here, read your posts, even pray for needs you share.

MelodyB

I finally got to spend some much needed relaxation time in my pool! Yay!

Stopping in to say hi. My Internet is down at home.

Still hot. The air prolly won't be thawed till tomorrow. Going to bed now.

Tomorrow we won't have to go to the hospital till after 6 in the evening. Dad has therapy all morning, then dialysis in the afternoon and won't be done and able to have visitors till after 5:30.

Gonna sleep in, rest, do some laundry and some cleaning before I go up there.

Yippee!  Now you can hit Craigslist!

What?  Not everyone keeps tabs on Craigslist postings all the time?   ???

Howdy yourself.

What is everyone doing with this wonderful day off?

Me, I'm tinkering with a friend's computer that was doing things it ought not do.

Man....quiet as a church mouse in here.

I'm at work. Had to make a mad dash to move my car- I'd parked in the Governor's spot since it's a holiday and he never comes in on them....then I hear the radio advising me he's on the way.  :-\
I got the car moved just in time to see the Guv drive up in his personal ride- a '06 Cadillac XLR-V- basically a Corvette in Caddy clothing.

Of course I had to ask about it, and had quite a nice chat with the governor, who is alot cooler to talk to when he's in blue jeans and a polo shirt than when he's in suit and tie. He found out I had a Corvette, and told me he's been a Corvette enthusiast for years, having owned a '76,'77, and a '79. He said his wife made him get rid of his '79 when he campaigned for Senate years ago. Seems she didn't like a two seater corvette with four kids.....  :laughhard:
He said he got even by buying the Supercharged Caddy, and said it would spank the 'vette. I told him I'd not be able to do his job and own that car, because I'd leave security behind and be plastered on the front page of the papaer for speeding, whereupon he said, with a sly grin "Well, it'll do 200..."  That might explain why the security guy with him was kinda pale....  :o
Days like today, I realize- this is actually a pretty cool job.. :thumbsup2:

That's life in the fast lane kiddo.

So if you're at work (on Memorial Day?) I guess you won't be using this national holiday to come up here and visit.  Rats.

Yay for pools and internet!

Roscoe, that sounds like a pretty cool moment.  Makes me wonder the influence you have for God in those circles few of us breach.  Awesome.

Isaac, I bet you are the go to guy in church for all things computers.  It feels good to be needed.

We went to the Memorial Day symphony concert yesterday afternoon with a bunch of friends.  The weather was absolutely wonderful, full out nice breeze the whole time.  They said there was 50k there but it didn't feel that crowded.  The fireworks were awesome too, better than any 4th of July's we've found for the last couple of years.  And these were to symphony music!

I still feel bad today, and the air is still broke. It was 86 degrees last night...finally got to 84, and right now it's 81 inside the house.

I need to go clean the kitchen and clean out the fridge but it's too HOT! I may put something in the crock pot for dinner. Don't know yet.

It's a good day though...I dont mean to be complaining so much lately. I'll try not to do that so much anymore.

Don't know about the influence...I'm sure the Governor and others here don't know my name, I'm just one of the minions that service them.. :biglaugh: It IS cool to be able to speak to people who are greater successes, and of higher positions of life, as far as the world goes, than I'll ever be though. Maybe, sometime, they'll see something different in me and realize it's not just too many donuts.  :laughhard:

I hate that, Mel. And complaining-wise, well, we ALL have days of that.........Here, I don't consider it complaining as much as a statement of fact and a plea for prayers... :thumbsup2:  :P

Well the computer is fixed, taken back to the friend and it no longer does the things it ought not do.  For now.  I found out after the default Norton junk expired, they have been online without an antivirus for months, so that might explain it.  Antiviruses are free though - Microsoft's own Security Essentials is pretty good, just by itself.

Now I have chili brewing on low heat for tonight, and I have settled in with a glass of homemade whipped topping blended with cranberry juice.  :D

Think I'll go tinker with a soundtrack now.

Church is clean, praise God... lol  I put dinner in the crockpot this morning.  Chicken apple stew.  It's a new recipe.  It doesn't really taste of apple.  It called for caraway seeds, which smell like pumpernickle bread and makes me want some.

I was talking to my sister today and she said she can get things like diapers and other stuff cheaper at Target than Wal-mart but that it's better quality.  I was shocked.  Seems Target is always more pricey, though I do like their stuff more.

If any of you guys shop at Target, here's some savers' tips: http://www.mommysavers.com/2011/01/deals-at-target-clearance/

I bought bicycling gloves for $2 cheaper at Target. Same brand. Was glad I stopped in there.
