Nothing can taste better than pumpkin pie. :shakeno:
LOL! Have you ever eaten sweet potato pie? It's like pumpkin but tastier.
I don't like sweet potato's. I've tried them...just don't like it. I LOVE sweet tator fries though. Weird I know.
I don't like sweet potatoes either... just the pie.
Sweet tater pie does sound mighty fine right about now...
Sweet potato pie sounds nasty. About as nasty as pumpkin pie. :teeth:

I am currently on the bottom bunk in my Nephews room, with both sleeping kiddos on the top bunk! And I am LOVING LOVING LOVING every minute of it!
As an added bonus, WiFi is a great thing to have! ;)
Tomorrow I get to see my other Niece who will be celebrating her 16th Birthday.
And I am also happy to report that I have now caught up on all my threads in my "show replies to posts" area. I haven't been able to say that for WEEKS!

Still waiting for a recipe for a certain kind of bread...
Speaking of bread, tomorrow is going to be a big baking day. Making some whole wheat sourdough bread for me, white sourdough bread for my sister and a whole lot of sourdough cinnamon rolls for a church dinner, mom, sister, my family's Thanksgiving dinner and a couple of other things.

Wowser. Just got back from church...seemed like a "who's who in pentecost" was there. Bro Kenny Godair, Bro. Lumpkin, Bro Gary Howard, Bro Jack Still, just to name a few. Bro. Floyd Odom was the featured speaker, and after hearing him, I'm convinced that the man could read the phone book aloud and be annointed and have a move of God from it. Unbelievable.
After I get done eating, I am going to bed so I can meet Bro. Papa in the morning and ride back to tomorrow's service with him... :waving:
Everyone sleeping in today?
Here's the salmon chowder my family loves, Isaac: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/salmon-chowder/detail.aspx
The only two changes I make are...
1) I use half the amount of salmon. (Costco is great, and their cans of salmon are tuna-sized. Yay for budgeting.)
2) I only put 1/4 tsp pepper
This chowder is one of their all-time fav dinners. And if I'm lucky enough to have any leftovers, it reheats nicely for somebody's lunch the next day.
:beret:
This kid has been in my bed since 6:15! Talking non-stop! Someone please tell her it is Saturday and you are supposed to SLEEP IN!

how goes it party people?
Who's partying? I'm baking.
:hi:
Tended the neighbors nasty fowl. They should be back to do it theirselves tomorrow.
I learned something today. I learned that if you double the amount of cinnamon sugar in sourdough cinnamon rolls, the excess leaks out and makes a big cinnamon sugar ocean in the pan. :-\
I need some volunteers.... Form an orderly line here to my left, please....
My Brother has chickens...just so you know.
If anyone prayed about my unwelcomed lump awhile back, I thank you & so does Nathan.
There is now no lump or pain. My God is a healer! He is full of tender mercies & loving kindness.
Today we had a ladies tea. Vani Marshall preached. Had a prayer mtg at the altar in the middle of her sermon.
We had a prayer mtg last night for our city. Tomorrow is our all nations Sunday. Wonder if we will top 21 this year! One preacher in our church is working toward starting a Bible study/cell group with some Liberians that have been coming. Jamaicans perhaps too.

Lord I'm going to be glad when we have water again....ugh..... Depending on somebody else to fix this plumbing was not necessarily the wisest of ideas I think...I might as well have done it myself and I could've been done already. *sigh*
Yes. He treated them to some feed while I was there.
Birthday party was ok. For THAT kind of party.
My Brother has recently started going back to church, but his wife and Daughter still are not very Godly, and the last few years Brittany wanted a party with a DJ and dancing and such. This year, lots of adults had liquor and Brittany's other aunt brought jello shots for the adults.
UGH.
We went early so we could visit before the party, and left after it got started good...now I'm back in Panama city at my other brothers house, sleeping in the bunk bed with my little churched-kiddos.
I am glad to have seen my brother and his family though.
Well my cinnamon rolls just came out of the oven... again. When I cooked them I had two big pans and they would not both fit on the same oven rack, so one went on the bottom rack. The pan on the bottom rack got severely hard on the bottom. So I pried them up, poured water under them, put them in the oven... and cooked them until they got soggy again. :-\ So after a bit longer in the oven, they're back to where they were supposed to be all along, at least as far as I can tell. We'll know more when they cool enough to cut.
At least the bread turned out great. I need the whole wheat bread to take with me and I need the white bread for my sister.
Quote from: MelodyB on November 20, 2011, 03:21:11 AMThis year, lots of adults had liquor and Brittany's other aunt brought jello shots for the adults.

APB came over and made me pancakes! We haven't really been able to see each other between both working, my rehearsals, and him trying to fix his mums car.
Church tomorrow. I'm pretty pumped.
SHARING: Bleh.
Bleh.
Bleh.
Major bleh.
Grandma is downstairs watching a Christmas video. Well... an X-mas video anyway, they never mention Christ. The moral is always "You should believe in Santa" or "Family is what is important at Christmas." Not even so much as a church in the background, unless it's a Christmastime setting for a romantic comedy.
They start these things earlier and earlier every year. I fully expect Christmas season to start before Christmas of the previous year is over, by the year 2035.
Bleh.
If I counted correctly, I shipped 99 shipments of hatching eggs out this season, everywhere from Alaska to Puerto Rico and everywhere between. Sent what was probably the last one of the season this week.
What determines when the season begins and ends? Do birds not lay eggs in winter?
That's an honest question by the way, not joking. I really don't know. The closest I ever came to having experience with that stuff is when my parents kept chickens for a (mercifully) short time, and the only thing I really remember about them is they leave a little pellet on the ground that looks like a small grape and is really yucky when a little kid is trying to play in the front yard barefoot and steps on one.
Isaac, aren't you partying when you are baking, playing with music files or working on computer elements?
Lady Melodya, yay!
Seth :-p
Hmmm..need to leave town this week for a couple of days. My first 'holiday' since Mom died, not that I didn't work most holidays before. I think I need tio take a few days off, maybe go to a cabin.
Hmmm
John :waving:
Argh. Ugh. Did I even have a weekend? ??? Back at work. Had a wonderful time at Gravel Ridge yesterday, and got to see alot of men I haven't saw in a while and got to hang around some giants for God. Everytime I go to that church I am amazed by their music department. They really got it going on....And God moved in an awesome way, even though it was planned to be more of a celebration of Bro Sorrells' ministry that a church service. He had other plans.
Up and at em....
Me no likey being a bachelor this weekend...Im use to having my wife close and my kiddos tearing through the house...even the dog acts like shes lost!

The good sweet Lord above determines that.... :P
Different species of birds have different laying seasons. Chickens will lay year round, but when they molt and when the days get shorter, they naturally slow down and/or stop at times.
Well folks this could get interesting!!
I never said you couldn't come, SmoopsiePoo. I'm sure there was plenty. You couldve had my share.
Well...the kids didn't wake me up this morning. And Honor made a huge breakfast and I'm waiting to go to church now.

So, my mom said something that made me about die laughing. We are actually going to try and have a family Thanksgiving. BUT that's not the funny part, she asked if I wanted to bring the boyfriend....Yeah mom, I want to introduce this guy who actually likes me to our really dysfunctional family when we have only been together about a month. She asked when everyone was going to meet him, I said "our wedding" and she said but that's not for a few years at least. I said yeppers...:-D

Tomorrow evening they're supposed to get the stupid pump hooked up finally....it's already plumbed, but the wiring needed hooked up....gotta do crud to it so the splice won't be under water, yadda yadda....
I'm over ready to have water, real, true, functioning water again, water that is not just a pencil lead trickle from the faucet. I'm gonna flush the stool and run the sink and have a high old time, God willing....please Lord, let it be......
Church was great this am. About to head into rehearsal. Should be out in time for church tonight. Hope my friend Jess shows up again. She randomly popped up this morning.

Well...it's been a great weekend, but now back to the land of no Internet!
I'm going to jump off a cliff.
Make sure to have someone video that.
Wow!! Great day!! Horse and worn out, and fixin to start packing. I have 3 days to get everything condensed and ready to go.
Bleh.
We had a great service this morning. We did not have church tonight because all the churches in town were meeting at one church for a community Thanksgiving service. All show, no Spirit... I could have used the time to burn some mp3 data DVDs I need.
They had snacks after the service. Then I came home and found Grandma had made cheese biscuits and fried up some deer sausage. She ate better than we did.
:hypocrite:
Double Bleh. It's pouring raining, and has rained so much that I had to park a good distance from the door this morning because my parking spot was flooded with nearly 6 inches of water. :o And yes, before Taco, Seth or Mini can run in here- if I'd tried to park there, I'd probably have drowned since I can't swim. :laughhard:
Just two more days til a three day weekend! Of course, Lou has to work Thanksgiving Day, so I'll cook up a ham, make some real dressing (not that Stovetop junk), potato salad and rolls, and maybe end it with one of my Caramel Apple cheesecakes I've became addicted to. My aunt, who helps us with Chey and has no one else in the area, will come over and we'll have a pleasant little dinner when Lou's off work.
But now I have to get through the rest of the work week. Bleh.
Roscoe, if you were up for a road trip, I could warp your mind real well by introducing you to moms side of the family...lol

Lord. I don't know if I could handle that.... :biglaugh:
Roscoe, I have tried so many homemade stuffings & not one had been as savory as stovetop. What do you do that prevents yours tasting like soggy bitter herbed bread?
Hey Meller! Are you guys still coming to the Tulsa area for Thanksgiving?
Morning. :hi:
Ros.coe about those caramel apple cheesecakes - now you realize the curse I have to live with. I like to make sourdough stuff and I like to eat it. If I liked to make it but didn't care that much about eating it I'd be okay. If I liked to eat it but hated making the stuff I'd be fine. But the current combination poses a danger to my waistline.
In other SHARING news: I have decided today is the day for getting ready for Youth Retreat. I'll have to leave as soon as I get up Wednesday so if I get everything lined out today that'll leave Tuesday for things I might have missed.
For a four day trip, there is an unconscionable amount of stuff I have to remember to bring... one would think I was planning to be gone a month.
Sitting here packing and realized as of today I am officially "between churches". I know where I came form and I know where I am going, but in some strange way it feels weird. Like if someone asked who my pastor was what could I tell them?
Got to get back to packing I feel buried under all this junk.
Make up a good story then....tell them it's TD Jakes or Joel Osteen or something.... :P
I am crippled.... Right side of my back under my shoulder blade area hurts...don't know if it's a rib out of whack or what....kinda seems like something of that nature....I need a massage or a chiropractic treatment...ouch.

mellow yellow-that may be what mine tastes like. :biglaugh: I don't know. I just make it like my mama made it, with a pinch of this and a dash of that. Its what I grew up with, so that's the way it has to be around my house. Stovetop is just like instant potatoes to my tastebuds- bleh.

But, it'd kill me if I'm not careful. :smirk2:
Cheesy,my friend, it is appointed to man once to die.......that means you got an appointment. Until then, enjoy life! :laughhard: Come pig out with me. I've given up being slim and trim. Now I just want to be a burden on my pallbearers. :thumbsup2:

Bro. Eddie Devenport. lol Was thinking about it, and he is a man of God I will always consider my pastor no matter where I go or what I am doing. So I will use him for now. I wouldn't tell folks Jakes or Ole Smiley was my pastor as long as I am in my right mind and living for God.
You're in your right mind!?!
:hypocrite:
I knew that one was coming. I could smell the Se.th brain smoke from here.
Mmm I would love the recipe to that Caramel Apple Cheescake! Have you posted it somewhere?
I was wanting something different to make for Thanksgiving. I had decided on Snickers Cheesecake and my hubby's Keylime Cheesecake but I'm bored w/ both and that Caramel Apple sounds devine! :)
We don't the to put the dots between Seth and Roscoe anymore.
I figured that out last week.
I am in a McDs parking lot on WiFi. Back in Mississippi. We had lunch at the funeral home today, and now dad is at a drs appointment getting ready for dialysis.
*sigh*
Aren't you all envious of Mel-Mel? Lunching at the funeral home..... Oo la la....
You can't have anything fit to be had... This trailer that I bought to haul water.....one of the boards was cockeyed at the rear end when I bought it, hadn't been put under the rail good when it was made.... I pointed it out, there wasn't much to do about it without just taking the whole thing off and putting it back on...so just left it be... Well, it's rained on it, the wood swelled, buckled upwards, and pulled the screws out of it. I got it beat back down now under the rail though since it was bent up enough to do so...lol But, it needs fixed, but they should repair that as a warranty repair...I'll just have to call them and take it over there, blah blah blah blah blah....
And these daggone roof people are about to kill me....always saying they're going to call, and then it gets pushed ahead, and they don't call to tell you that.... :pound:
I'm eating some blasted chicken nuggets and then I'm gonna go get a load of water and take to the church cause they're supposed to be getting the blasted pump wired up and it'll be ready to go and we can put some water in it and make sure it's not leaking at the pipe joints, and then we'll be ready to rumble.
And I'm still crippled and hurt.
Yeah on the flyer, it was saying to come on over and bring the family, and that just to bring a side dish...the funeral home will provide the meat.
I kid you not.
Makes me kinda wonder...
:fork:
Ok. I'm caught up on everything online.
Headed back to find some SHADE to park in at the Drs office...and maybe take a nap while I wait.
Shade? What's that? Not a hint of the sun here today.

"A certain GPer." Does that mean "Cheryl" is coming home for supper? :eyebrow:

So I hauled a tank of water over there.... They came and looked at the pump...and called a well driller to ask how they hook theirs up..... And they're coming back tomorrow to hook it up.... Gooooooooood laaaaaaaaaaaannnnndddddssssssss..... So I left the trailer over there...and hope the floor doesn't fall through with a 3,000 pound tank of water sitting on it for a day....
And the dumb roof place never called to say what day it looks like they're planning to come now.... My goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooodddddddddddddddddnnnnnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssss................. People are KILLING ME.

And go, Fuzzy Wuzzy. Enjoy tormenting Jeremy while enjoying the company of his better half....
Oh, and Isaac- You know anyone from the Camden, TN church? We've got a friend that was evangelizing from Canada who moved there fairly recently- Bro MacDonald. He's around my age, and is good people.
I have friends in the Camden area but I don't remember which church they go to.
I got a fridge today!! Hooray!! 3-4 year old Kenmore for only 250! And it's exactly what me AND my landlady wanted. My uncle and APB are helping me load it up and into my house tomorrow
The food smells amazing. :fork:
So who is the visitor? Did I miss that somewhere?
I haven't been able to get on GP during work...stupid work internet keeps blocking me. It's never blocked me in the 4 years I've worked here. And now...
Jeremy's wife. ;)
So...I got approved for my work permit! So I can now legally drive to and from work! :-D
now for the bad news. A midnight ER visit and not to the ER that is always wrong. My left arm had went numb and I had a horrible headache and I was vomiting. Roomie thought I was having a stroke. So off to the ER we go. Turns out it's a pinched nerve in my neck causing vertigo and the migraine. They gave me two shots that HURT and then I got a ct scan. I'm not dying...but it sure felt like it. Two days off work and plenty of rest...so all I've done all afternoon is sleep!

Ugh. Today and tomorrow, then three days off. So ready for it! It has rained so much the last couple of days we are having flooding issues. I came through my usual route at 5:20 am and didn't get a tire wet, thirty minutes later, Lou calls and tells me the road is under water. :o And it's supposed to rain more today.
Ugh.... Can somebody check and see if there's a knife in my back?

Goooooood morning! :hi:
Today gonna be one busy day. Gotta pack all the stuff I'll need for the trip.
Two cast-iron skillets for my niece who loves to cook;
Two copies of "Charlie ain't been by..." for my mother and sister;
Two loaves of sliced sourdough, mayo and two pounds each of turkey and ham... I am NOT paying the prices those restaurants in
the Opryland Hotel charge;
Phone and charger;
Computer and charger;
Some letters (with surprises in them) for a few online friends, to mail at a random town along the way - it's not too early to send
Christmas cards is it?
Gotta wash some dress clothes and make sure my black socks are in there.

Put up my Christmas tree and my animals stockings. Yes, I am one of THOSE people. Lol
Going to get my fridge this afternoon!! I've never been so excited for an appliance in my life! I guess this is what almost 30 feels like. Lol :)

Grandma and I both don't want to mess with it until well into December. So we don't.

I have friends who've had their trees/decor up for almost 3 weeks now. We put ours up usually on Thanksgiving day, or that weekend.
Lord.
Went to town. Got a tire checked out on the TB that had a slow leak...had a rock poke a hole in it. Plugged that.
Banked.
Got little stuff at Tractor Supply, didn't get part of what I started too cause I erroneously thought it was a tad cheaper at Rural King where I was going to go....but it wasn't...bah.....so I only got one bag at RK to tide me over till later....
Went to Martinsville to RK, got a bunch of layer crumbles, stocked up some while they're on sale.... Total of 1,580 pounds of feed in the TB... :smirk2:
Got a piece of rope to tie on the pump in the cistern too....
Went to the church....of course I lollygagged around too much to be there when they were they wiring the pump up....and I would have had him attach the rope while he was down in there.... But, since he wasn't, I aimed to do it myself... Not the best idea...
I assumed since the other two short people that had been in there could get out, I could too....bad assumption.....
I got in there, and could not get out. I struggled to get out a couple times, couldn't do it.... Prayed to God to give me a cell phone signal (Thank God I took it with me into the hole because I was going to use the flash on it as a flashlight.) and called home...busy signal.... Prayed to God for more signal and called my sister, and she came and brought be a bucket to stand on...and I still couldn't get out....lol We were trying and trying to think of everything.... Finally I just hauled off and jumped straight up (from standing on the bucket) and that got me high enough to get out.....broke the bucket, but I was free. LOL
I felt like "Baby Jessica." lol
Then finally scrounged around and got that tank of water dumped in there, turned it on, and eureka, thank God, it works.... I was just going to crawl back in there and die if it didn't. lol But I think it's alright. BUT, there's always a black cloud in front of every silver lining you know....the men's toilet is not working right for some reason, water not coming in properly...so I'll have to investigate that further.... Otherwise, I think we're back in business. Just gotta haul more water and fill the cistern the rest of the way up tomorrow.
Lord what an evening...

This was me awaiting rescue. :smirk2:
:headrub: SmoopsiePoo. :(
Thanks.
Now go tend the fowl for me....I'm getting tired and haven't done it yet.....
And while you're at it, unload the feed out of the TB.
Hiyas.
Cold rainy wonderful day today. Cleaned the church. Then decided an older couple who I talked with on Sunday that wasn't really going to have much of a Thanksgiving, needed one. I think it musta been God, seriously, cause I never knew I could make an entire turkey dinner in one afternoon. Complete with 2 pies. It was a suprise & the response text I got when they received it made this birthday possibly the best ever. Not really cause they responded but because it truly is better to give than receive. God is so good! Good way to start being 32. :)
I tried a new recipe tonight. Red curry paste mixed with brown sugar & just a bit of brown sugar & coconut milk makes an awesome coating on chicken, baked. Served with roasted veggies. Nathan isa working 12hr days so his check isn't too short. He worked in the cold rain. I have the best husband. Had some fresh cookies when he walked in but some day I really want to bless him.
Tomorrow, we get to sleep in. No school!
:hi:
Becca!!
That post kind of all ran together, sorry.

AND yes, I did get a CHEL hug or two!
I never thought of Saddam.... I did think of Baby Jessica....Loretta Lynn and coal mining.....the Chilean miners that were trapped....lol.....
Lord...
I gotta get in gear and go fill the thing up.
Wouldn't it of been nice if someone came a long and started feeling it up for you while you were in there? You would have got a nice bath, and you could have floated to freedom like a Cuban refugee. lol

Filled the cistern up....now we can poop and pee and wash our hands and have a good time.... :smirk2:
It seems like the outside fittings coming from the cistern to the water line may still be leaking though....if it is, "they'll" have to fix that before it gets cold and freezes em and busts em, so we can finish backfilling it....argh....
Cleaned out the doojymawhop in the men's toilet tank and it's functioning.
The ladies' room sink needs the hot water faucet fixed...it's leaked forever and has just been turned off all the time mostly....
Lord.
The roofing place finally did call today to say they're coming Friday afternoon....thank God.
I've got a phone interview Monday for this part time jobby deal. I've been applying for some part time stuff, cause I'm gonna run out of money, sooner than later......but I've got so much to do I don't have time to work full time....lol
Lord. :smirk2:
You're on a roll John!
Is it a fresh yeast roll, Martha?
By the way we're at the Opryland Hotel. It's still as pretty as ever. Especially after about 11pm when almost everyone else is asleep and the only people you're likely to see are workers, and that only rarely. It's a beautiful place then, to just walk through and look at everything and listen to the sound of the place without the sound of a crowd covering it up.
Are you there for NYC?
Believe it or not, I dreamed about you last night....(yes, you, Weird Cat...).... :freaky:
And it was about you being at Opryland, and I had also went there, and I was walking through the huge place, which was like an amusement park inside (which turned out to be a "King's Island", and seeing various people that were there for NYC, and I had a board or something that I was going to put in your "car" and I was searching for your car, and came upon what was a dilapidated chicken with a dent in one side and gold paint splatters on it, and somehow this was supposed to be your "car." I thought it probably was and suddenly you appeared confirming that fact. You were working at the King's Island there. And you weren't black. :smirk2:
Thanks, Lady Melodya!
Though in the interest of pickin...err, accuracy, I should have left the loophole in the statement that if Isaac winds up marrying Lady Chel, he would be permitted 'non-single' hugs from her.

Seth... um... yeah, my vehicle is a dark green Ford Windstar. And though NYC is here, that is an ALJC function. I'm UPCI, we're here for a (statewide) Youth Retreat. We have it here once a year, while ALJC's NYC is here once every two years.
And since NYC is here, Pentecostal Publishing is also here and I already bought five CDs. :D

To get coffee or nap, that is the question.
I hope this pumpkin layer cake holds up all the way there.
I thought TN had a UPC district thing there in the past at the same time too. I see.
God forbid you attend an ALJC function. :P

I respect his desire in remaining somewhat anonymus online. I should probably guard myself a little more, but I've saw enough in my line of work to know if someone wants to know more about me, it can be found out, with or without my precautions. About the only way to be perfectly private and safe is to use only cash, have no online interaction at all, no computer, live up in the country and live off the land. Then someone could stalk you and kill you because you'd be that weird old guy with tons of cash buried in a mason jar in the back yard. :P
I'll just be cautious, trust my instincts, and my .45...........I'm thinking anyone that sought to do me harm would soon regret it, I enjoy shooting and I'm not terrible at it.... :laughhard:

Actually their preacher is usually hitting his stride just as our service is over. And on the second night here a person has already seen the whole hotel, the main areas are all crowded and there's nothing else to do really unless you want to spend a lot of money.
Turkey, green beans & carrots, and cottage cheese. Happy Thanksgiving to me.

Nothing special- cover it in brown sugar, throw some pineapple rings and some marschino cherries, pour juice from both fruits over it and let it bake. Simple- I don't know much about glazes and all that, I'm gonna have to learn a bit on that.

Nonono! Don't bother with glazes, your way of doing a ham is juuuuust fine. When do we eat?
Pssh. Whatever.
I totaled a green windstar one time. My mom was PEEVED!!!
Went to church....quite the ordeal....
Went to get grandma, when she went to get in the car, she hit her shin on the corner of the door and tore a big piece of hide loose. She normally gets in the backseat, and the door is shaped different without the pointy corner at the bottom...but mom didn't go cause my nephew and them had come later in the day and were still here.... By the time she said she hit it and thought she cut it, she already had blood running down to her shoe.
So we went in and cleaned up blood, held paper towels on it, yadda yadda yadda...
She called my cousin to have her stop the bleeding. That kind of creeps me out and I don't know what I think of it....her other grandma, my dad's sister, used to do that do and passed it on to her.... (For those not familiar with that, that means they don't have to be present, it's just something that they do wherever they're at, and can do it for people or animals.)
Anyways, it was slowing down and I bandaged it over with Neosporin on it and papertowels and tape... We went on to church, were late and I called church on the way and let them know I was coming so they wouldn't all wonder what happened or turn around and go home. lol
When we came home I took the bandage off and my aunt (that lives next door to grandma) came over and we debated if she needed to go have it seen to or not.... The skin was just gaped open was the main thing.... We ended up deciding to just bandage it up for the night, and my aunt brought over some gauze and more tape and I doctored it up better than it had been, pulling the wound closed better than it was. Which I think is pretty much what they would've done at the ER....they'd have taped it or glued it
Anyways....that was my excitement for the day.
Seth Eads, M.D.
Everybody get trampled to death in a Black Friday sale? :eyebrow:
Went to Wal-Mart at around 4:30 yesterday and people where already in there with buggies full of stuff that went on sale sometime this morning. I ain't that crazy, and Wal-Mart ain't got nothing I want that bad unless they gonna give me some of the money they make.
Had a wonderful Thanksgiving with my beautiful fiancee'!!
I'm here....Poor Lou had to work this morning in that madhouse they call Walmart. She wants me to go by and pick up a few of their sale specials, the ones that people didnt trample the doors for, but are still a good deal. Sadly, I just don't want to deal with people today. I might later.....
Got up this morning and washed up the remainder of the pots and pans from dinner last night. I was a bit of a slug last night and figured they could wait. I also swept and mopped the living room/dining roon/kitchen area as well, so Lou should be happy.
Now I'm veggin'.... :teeth:
Gonna go to the church and put out the Christmas decor I suppose and clean a bit, waiting on the roofing guys to get there at around 3:30.
Wait, what?!? She can stop the bleeding without BEING there? No wonder you're creeped out. :o Aside from the obvious answer of praying for someone... which you apparently do not mean... uhhh... wow. :o Now you've got me creeped out. Thanks, Cheese. :pound:
Belated Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! :hi:
:beret:
Yeah, I don't know if it's anything more than an old wive's tale sort of thing, or if there's really something to it, and if there is something to it, is it of the devil or of God or what...lol :freaky:
Part of the whole thing is they can't talk about how they do it. I think it's more of a regional thing, so some no doubt, such as yourself have never heard tell of such a thing. lol And it's also an "old timey" thing.
I remember one time when I was a kid they were dehorning cows at my uncle's across the road here, and they cut one of them's horn off, and that thing squirted blood like a water sprinkler, I mean absolute literally squirting a stream of blood out of its head up in the air. I remember them saying they needed to call my aunt and have her stop it, but I can't remember if they did and she did or what.... I know it eventually stopped, cause I don't recall it bleeding to death, but I don't remember how long it took to quit or how it did. LOL
And it seems like I recall one of my other aunts talking about my cousin's dog I think it was, having it's toenail cut in the quick and wouldn't quit bleeding and they had my aunt stop it. :smirk2:
If you Google "Blood stopping" there are a few things that talk about it, not a lot... I saw some stuff that said there are more than one way that people have been reported to have done it, but one of the more common ones involves reading Ezekiel 16:6, possibly replacing the word "thee" with the bleeding person's name, and doing this while walking toward the east.... There's variations of it.
I don't know what it is my aunt and cousin did/do, cause of the whole can't talk about it thing.... When grandma called my cousin last night she said "Okay, I'll work on it." And then in a few minutes called back to see if it was still bleeding and it still was a little bit and she said, "Okay, I'll work on it some more."
I did "Black and White" Friday...but that's nothing special just another day with my Holstein friends.
Got to see my Nan (my mom's mom) yesterday and my uncle who is also my boss was at my mom's for Thanksgiving. It was actually great to see everyone try and get alone. I had a pretty good time other than trying to get to sleep last night...

Well...went to the church and did as I said.... Stupid roofers came....I stood out there while they were working on it....just replacing about 12 single shingles on a ridge/hip of the roof.... With shingles I provided them, we have a stash of some extras. I wasn't standing where I could see exactly what they were doing, I assumed they had sense enough to do what they were supposed to.
After they left I went over to where I could see, and they put the stupid shingles on backwards....the part that is supposed to be covered up is what they put showing....that is not the same color as the rest of the shingles on the whole entire roof....I don't know why in the world they did not put them on with the ride end facing out....You'd think roofers would be able to tell the top from the bottom of a shingle....Ugh. Dummies. So I may call the roofing place and complain. Morons. Shoot.
EVERYTHING I TYPE TONIGHT I MAKE SOME KIND OF STUPID TYPO IN IT!!!!!! Right end...bah....
I am tired, and mad, and mean.
I'm still alive, just busy. Drove a few hours to get myself and my brother back to mom's house. Tomorrow I'll drive even more hours to get back home.
In other news, Thanksgiving dinner was held here today. I thought it was going to be a family dinner. Well it was... a few families. Mom, me, bro, sis, my niece, mom's boyfriend and three other couples, two of them with kids of their own. Too many people. The cat went nuts. He's cranky by nature so he was mega-stressed tonight. If he had been a friendly cat by nature I'd have felt sorry for him.
Youth Retreat was great by the way. You all missed out big-time. When a room full of more than 2,000 pentecostals experiences one of "those" services where God takes over and the preacher doesn't even get to preach, it's awesome!
And I bought 7 CDs at the PPH booth. :D

:-?
I'm voting for caves. My freight cave at the bookstore years ago was quite lovely. And provided a lovely welcome relief from horrid customers. ;)
So I ended up going Black Friday shopping after all. *lol* Mom called yesterday morning and said she was coming to "kidnap" me and the boys (Chris was at work) to go shopping, and have lunch with them. So I ended up getting some warm shirts for my honey (he's been wearing summer t-shirts and saying he's fine, but then keep telling me how cold he is *lol*). Texas boys apparently think they can dress like Texas boys in the rest of the country. ;) Anyhow. So I bought him some long-sleeved warm shirts for this winter.
The boys and I haven't been getting out a whole lot. Sharing one car when dad works 30 minutes away definitely has its drawbacks. *shrug* But we're attempting to make up for it by causing trouble at home. ;) I'm thinking we should decorate our tree on Monday or so. :bigcheese: That would be a lovely surprise for Scrooge when he gets home from work! :bigcheese: (Seriously, it cracks me up to watch the interchanges between Chris and the boys. His Scrooge stuff is quite hilarious when it's accompanied by a big twinkle in his eye, and the boys are hopping around calling him all sorts of names from Puddleglum and Scrooge to Eeyore. *grin* It's all for effect, and they all love it.)

John...what about Katie Futch? Did you meet her? She is a really sweet gal. And a good friend of mine.

My back/hips and other things hurt. Ooch.
Grandma kept saying next week she would rake those leaves up in the yard...Lord.....if it did this to me, (this is not the only factor in my aches and pains, but I think it's a contributor), then what in the world would it do to a little old 96 year old woman?! lol

One of the worst gallbladder attacks I've ever had. Probably #2 on the scale of the worst. Thank God Brandon was here.
Glad you're ok Heather!
Seth, you don't have early arthritis in your back/hips do you?
Everybody's in bed. I am having a hard time leaving my warm spot in front of the fireplace when it's still burning. Can't stand the thought of wasting the wood.
Gonna make some turkey tettrazini tomorrow out if some leftover turkey. You guys make any favorite dishes out of leftovers? Maybe I should start another thread...
I don't know what I have, Martha.
Heather: OUCH! Sorry to hear that, I know those are a world of pain.
MellowYellow: Just send the leftovers my way. I'm a scavenger at heart and leftovers don't usually last long with me, especially leftover turkey. But we usually don't have leftover turkey, just leftover lots-of-other-stuff. Unfortunately we don't have much of anything leftover this year, just a bucket of turkey and dressing... which is going to disappear soon enough. :D
In other news: Went to Youth Retreat, went to visit Mom in east TN, came home. I'd relate some details but I gotta take a shower and get ready for church.
Morning all. I'm at work. Fretting about tonight.... Bro Wilson's sick, so I get to afflict the local assembly. :P

We had practice. They were just late.
Isaac-You came to East Tennessee and didn't tell me? I see how it is.
After my gallbladder attack last night I WAY overslept and woke up with an atrocious back twinge with morning. I have rehearsal later so I'll miss church this evening too. I'm getting really disenheartened with this play and how things are being ran. The music director changes multiple things EVER rehearsal then gets upset when we don't know the part she thinks she gave us. When in actuality she gave us a different part.
You need to ban (or is the word band? Neither way looks right to me now that I've typed it.... :-? ) together as the cast and slap her. :smirk2:
Maybe it's just bind. Shoot, who knows.
And who cares. :smirk2:

I have gas...or something....achey lower belly off and on the last few days.... Along with the hips/back ache from other stuff... And I'm sure strained muscles from my cistern entrapment and other lifting, bending, etc. that I've done lately doesn't help any of the above matters. :smirk2: :-?
I need to catch a goose and get it ready for somebody to pick up. And I guess I may go to an afternoon service at Handy here in a bit.... Bro. Hardin from Pine Grove called and invited me to a dinner after their morning service today (which I didn't go on up there for that) and then to the service over at Handy. His caregiver (Bro. Hardin is in a wheelchair due to an auto accident 8 years ago) that was with him that last time he came down to our church back in October is getting baptized today, they're going to do that at the service at Handy. (The actual name of the church now is Souls Matter Apostolic Church, but originally it was Handy Pentecostal Church for years, when the building was just down the road around the corner, and then they built the new building 15 years ago and named it Truth Apostolic Tabernacle, and then in the past year or so the pastor resigned and the new pastor changed it to the current name....but to anybody that's been around here forever, you always just think of it as "Handy." [Handy is the name of the community there, and the road that the old church was on.]
How's that for lots of useless trivia? :P
I was actually the first person baptized in the new building there 15 years ago yesterday, as I mentioned in part last eve. We went over there to use their baptistry as we didn't have one at the time. We had always just baptized in the creek, or wherever (another church's baptistry, or wherever there was water :P ), and that just happened to be the place I kinda picked to go at the time.
Anyways.

I made no secret of the matter. I mentioned it multiple times in the sharing threads alone.
In other matters, I just got the recipe for an egg custard pie. I'm going to try it out for tonight's after-church meet-and-eat, but with a couple of changes. I usually try a recipe the way it is written the first time through - then I know what I want to tweak the second time - but this time I'm trying it for the first time, but adding cocoa to make a chocolate egg custard pie. Then I'll put cream cheese icing on it.
While it's cooking I'll get tonight's Children's Church lesson together and maybe post my thoughts about all my travels last week.
Fair enough. I don't live on the board so if it gets pages away from keeping up I tend to skip them. No need to get snippy. Plus you would have seen me, know the make and model of my vehicle, and my tag number and therefore my address. And we all know how you feel about that
No snippy, just replying and explaining.
If you live in TN/VA (wait, your house straddles the state line?) have you ever been to the Barter Theater?
Here's a mini version of what's happened in the last few days, some of you have background on some of this some of you don't.
*My boyfriend told me he loves me for the first time.
*We had a small dinner get together here Friday night. It was a lot more fun than I thought it would be.
*My Thanksgiving was surprisingly pleasant. I gave myself ample prayer time before I dove into being with "the fam". My Nan (my mom's mom) gave me a Christmas Cactus. It made me cry, but that's a whole nother post.
*Roomie's son's dad and I and Roomie had a long heart to heart about what she's going to do if I ever do move out. Hopefully it changes some things.
*Roomie went up for alter call again this morning. She's seriously considering getting baptized.
*It's been one year (Sunday after Thanksgiving 2010) since I was baptized.
Oh and Roomie's cat is sick still. I have been giving him the meds the vet told me too...but he just doesn't seem to want to get better..poor Beefers.
Some thoughts from my travels:
WEDNESDAY:
***Man I hate driving. I want to be THERE already! Driving is a waste of time I could use doing other things. If anyone wants to invent a teleporter, I'm waiting impatiently for it.
***If you're on the road and you're hungry, it can be fun to take a random exit from the freeway and try one of the restaurants there. I don't mean a McDonald's or Arby's, I mean one of the local restaurants. Just be sure to remember which exit it was so you can hit the really good restaurants again next trip.
***If your brother was 16 when you saw him last time and he's 19 now, you have to expect him to look a bit different. I knew this, but it was still a shock.
***The Opryland Hotel is still just as pretty and just as expensive. A nice place to vi$it, but I $ure am glad we're only $taying two day$. And I sure am glad I brought provisions and Shoney's is right across the street.
***The Opryland Hotel covers a lot of ground and a lot of that ground is straight-line hallways, good for racing. There is also an area called the Conservatory that has very winding paths, good for broken-field racing. Unfortunately my brother is physically very fast. Also unfortunately, I overdid it and I think I pulled a muscle or three in my lower calf. (cue cow/calf jokes from Seth here)
***More than 2,000 young apostolic people in one room, in one accord, is an awesome thing.
THURSDAY
***Ow. When you do stupid things to strain a leg muscle the day before, Opryland Hotel is not the place to be. It takes a good ten minutes to walk from one end to the other, and that's for a healthy guy who knows where he's going. For a gimpy guy it takes a good bit longer. At least I knew where I was going. I don't know what I'd have done if I had to walk around the whole place trying to figure out where everything was.
***Shoney's still has those really good peaches on the breakfast bar. A smiling waitress who acts as if she's happy to see you even if she's having to work on Thanksgiving day is a great person who deserves a bigger tip.
***More than 1,500 young apostolic people in one room, in one accord, is an... wait, 1,500? Hmm, must have been a lot of people staying up late to talk. Odd, it seemed more guys than girls were up and at church Thursday morning. Yup, staying up late talking is definitely the problem here.
***The kids in our youth group had a great idea - Hide-and-seek in the Opryland Hotel. It's such a big place you could sit in a hallway for an hour and the person who's "it" wouldn't find you unless he knew which hallway you were in. Unfortunately they kept putting it off... We have things to see, we'll do it tomorrow... The girls who slept in instead of joining us for breakfast at Shoney's are now hungry and want to get lunch... We have shopping to do, we'll do it after church tonight... They never did get it done, and this is our last year at Opryland Hotel. Pity, it was such a good idea for that place. Especially at night - even with all the walkway lights, it's harder to identify people by sight at night.
***More than 2,000 young apostolic people in one room, in one accord is sufficiently awesome to cause a service where God moves in and the preacher never even gets to preach.
FRIDAY
***I still hate driving. Whomever is inventing that teleporter, hurry up.
***My mother has a boyfriend named Randall who lives in Pennsylvania. He has been her guy for more than four years now, but I just met him for the first time last Friday. He is one neat dude. Not the most outgoing guy in the world but friendly in a quiet way. He has the quick wit to keep up with Mom's wit, the sense of humor to appreciate jokes and make them, and the intelligence and education to get jokes that lesser intellects wouldn't get.
***16 people around one table is just too many people. The food and conversation were good though. Mom, Randall and Jessica (my sister) analyzed it afterward for a long time though, speculating who might not have enjoyed it and why, we shouldn't have invited him AND her to the same dinner, we should have tried to keep conversation going in this corner, etc. Oh well, I guess it's better to dissect your own possible mistakes than dissect the people who came to your dinner.
***Happiness is a cat purring beside you as you go to sleep.
SATURDAY
***A niece who passes out at around 9pm will get up at a downright unconscionable hour the next day. To compound the problem, in winter you don't have an air conditioner running, so all sounds are much easier to hear from anywhere in the house. I gave up and got up.
***My niece really likes to cook but modern non-stick skillets are very unhealthy for you, so I got her an old-fashioned answer - two cast-iron skillets which I had already seasoned for a few hours. She made a pan of cornbread on the spot. Wait... whole wheat cornbread? Eh, why not? And it actually was fairly good, especially with a bit of onion.
***Caffeine is an ever-present help in time of lack of sleep. Especially when you have to do a lot of driving.
***Have I mentioned how much I hate long periods of driving? Well I do, but the one thing I hate worse is being stuck in traffic, usually at a dead stop, moving just often enough so I can't put it in park and take a nap. They had a big car wreck that shut down all three lanes on I-40 and backed up traffic for more than 15 miles. Thank God for three things: I was not in any particular rush, I had plenty of gas and most importantly that I was one of the people stuck in traffic instead of in one of the cars that caused the problem.
***The Waffle House just west of Nashville is a great place. I stopped in to get something I could eat on the road. After deliberating I asked them to make me an omelette, but put it between the slices of toast that it was supposed to come with - an omelette sandwich - and slice it in four. The cook took it in stride, and even tweaked it a bit further by putting the cheese on the bread instead of in the omelette, thus effectively gluing the whole thing together so it wouldn't fall apart when I was eating it on the road.
***After a long trip, coming home and finding leftover duck dressing in the fridge is a great thing. :D
IowaSkirtGirl: Glad to hear so many good things. Congratulations on the guy telling you he loves you. :great:
So I got a phone call during rehearsal this evening and apparently one of my old drivers from AZ is giving me a car :eek!: :eek!: :eek!: :eek!:
Shocked does not cover it.....
You're still a bunch of weirdos.
Went to church at Handy.
It was a bit after 4 when that was over, so I went on to the south side Kroger and got gas, and got something to eat. And then went to church at Sanders at 5. Some people from Sanders, among other places, had been there at Handy. I hadn't been to Sanders for a long while and they missed me. At least some of them anyways. More do than don't maybe, so I'm still ahead..lol
Came home. Eating a RBB.
Need to tend fowl...ugh...wet and dark....blah.
Oh, and furthermore, I'm going to have to get some new pants, mine will not stay up, I'm constantly having to pull them up everytime I move, and I look like I'm wearing a tent.
I couldn't shout if I wanted to, my britches would fall off. :freaky:

Goodwill is a good idea though....might find some cheap deals there...maybe...if I could find something in my size....which I'm not exactly sure what size will be best at this point...
Have to try them on and get crabs or something.... :o

I know the feeling. It's been a long time since a minister in the church walked up to me one Sunday night and said "God told me three times this week that I should give you this car" but part of me still can't quite believe it.

I wasn't suggesting one for me, I was suggesting one for you.
I don't need one...at least not until after I try on people's dirty pants at Goodwill.
Nighty-night, y'all.. I's a tired Roscoe and mawning comes early 'roud heah..... :waving:
I'm going to attempt to pray myself up and go tend the fowl.
:eyebrow:
:ugly:
Did an abbreviated fowl tending.
I'm not up to par.
 I just caught up on the last 10 pages of this thread... BOL! So many things to comment about, and not enough memory in my brain to remember what they were... so I will just say, I laughed out loud more than once! and some of you guys are crazy, and I am really glad to know most of you in person, and I agree that there are a whole lot of really awesome people on this forum, and Ike, would you know what to do with a real Chel hug if you got one?

Yes. It is. Man I feel like....ugh. Not good.
Have some Dutch Chocolate Milk. I hear it does wonders in the morning.
Balmy 25° out this morning. I forgot to put the car in the garage. Somebody help me remember tonight. Lol
A cup of darjeeling tea & I'm off to clean the church. I wish it would get in style to wear fleece leggings under a skirt. I'm cold.
It was 32* here. Pretty chilly when it's been nearly 80.

Shhhh! Don't tell them that, then they won't contribute!
So... when ya stopping by?
Oh we'll still help. If we can't mail you pipebombs, we'll just send you a Killer Chel Hug.
I needed to go to town, but I'm too lazy to go today.....nothing that won't wait till tomorrow I guess. :smirk2:
I would like to call the roofing place and chew them out, but I hate to.... :-?
Gotta call in for that phone interview later.
What are you interviewing for?
if i told you i'd have to kill you.
Howdy. I'm at church and was caught talking to myself a bit ago.
Actually, I was talking to my email. I was sitting here in the foyer and I got yet ANOTHER email about a party for the ladies, of which I really don't care to attend, but I will cause I'm supposed to, and this is the THIRD email in two days PLUS we had a flyer about it yesterday, so when I got the email, I mumbled something horrid about it under my breath, and then the email wouldn't even open correctly! So I said out loud "HELLO!?" and a voice from the dark end of the foyer said calmly "hello."
:o
I was caught! But it was just James, he's cool, but he sure did scare me!
I'm gonna work on SS stuff, and go upstairs to take inventory and re stock the snack bar again.
I already went to the post office and mailed out something today. And I was upset cause the postman put one of the postal stickers over my Duckie I put on the box. :sadbounce:
Oh well.
Just propose to her already Isaac. I'm so impatient.

Amen! Can't beat the real thing.
Wait, what am I saying? I don't usually drink either. But when I do need a moderate amount of caffeine, coke is preferable. There's just something indefinably icky about pepsi's flavor.
And MellowYellow um... not quite sure how to take that. And I'm not sure I want to know.

Pepsi is the best!
About Dr. Pepper, it seems to be the drink of choice for young people in pentecostal churches. At any church where I've ever helped in the kitchen, we can go through three bottles of Dr. Pepper before we go through one of Coke, Mt. Dew, Pepsi or anything else. I have no idea why, but it seems endemic to our church youth groups because I've worked in other places that sell sodas and the dynamic is not there.
I grew up on Pepsi in the glass bottle. Lovely, makes my eyes water... Lol Coke tastes like syrup, a bit too sweet for me.
Gp is entertaining. :)
I found a Christmas radio station. But it's country. :/
Load all your christmas music in an mp3 player, set it to shuffle, connect it to speakers and let 'er rip. Or find a christmas music station online, there are tons of them to listen to for free.
Lord.
I say Coke is best, but right now, I would have rather not seen any Coke. OY. Two of them exploded in the fridge upstairs. The whole back of it is COVERED in ice about two inches thick, and Coke spewed everywhere.
I took the remaining drinks out, washed them off, unplugged the fridge and now have a portable heater helping to speed the defrosting. I need a blow dryer but of course don't have one here.
Looks like today will be spent cleaning this mess up, and I'll have to Restock another time. Before Saturdays Youth service though.
Sweet niblets.

And yes, which of the many things was I right about?
Phone interviewed....wow, I thought it might be better on the phone, but boy once the questions started, I was just as dumb on the phone as I would be in person. Doggone.... But she said she's going to set up a face to face interview though for later this week. So.... I guess maybe it wasn't so completely dumb. Or maybe she just needs another good laugh.
ROFL.
I always try to greet them with faux confidence, but then when they ask the first question, my brain stem breaks off and it's all down hill from there.... Um...yeah....like what do you mean exactly? Um, like what do you want me to tell you? Uh, yeah I like that, I can do that, I'm open to either way, uh yeah....
I'm so concise with the things I say.
And she started off with, "Tell me about yourself..."
So I'm like.... :o
I don't know what to tell...I don't want to tell the wrong kind of stuff, I don't want to tell stupid stuff, I just don't want to talk about it, frankly. LOL
Well, I'm a 33 year old single white male, 6 ft tall, dark brown hair, what's left of it, hazel eyes, and my right foot turns to the side kind of oddly and always wears my shoes out before their time on that foot. I live with my parents and 350 birds and I hate people.
Thats a real selling point. Lol
Especially the point about hating people.
That should win over anyone.

So where is Chel going that she will pass through Issac's town?
My soda choices are Dr Pepper (with or without cherry flavor), Coke (with or without cherry flavor), Food Club Root Beer, then Mello Yello.
Anyone want a 7 month old neutered, front declawed bobtail orange and white cat? Hes driving me NUTS!!!!!
Oi this rain is making me sleepy......

That should win over anyone.
And this job is a part time merchandising job for American Greetings. You service and stock the card, and other items, displays in stores - this particular position would take care of Target, Macy's, Dollar Tree, and O'Malia's Market here on the east side of town.
ahaha this whole image of you "stocking" cards makes me crack up. All of the card stockers I've seen are little old ladies....rofl

I wouldn't know. Who is Issac?
Wherever it is, she has apparently been there at least two or three times already. I'm afraid to ask because she might reevaluate the necessity of going wherever it is... and then she wouldn't come by here! :o
Argh. Back at work. New day, new beginning. And I'm still ready for the weekend- which is going to be shortened for me, since we have that stupid lighting ceremony.....gonna have to stand out in the cold for a few hours Saturday. I ain't looking forward to that.

No wonder ISG fits in so well here! InSaneGirl is her real name, and IowaSkirtGirl is just her alias. :bigcheese. Now I know why we like her so much. :bigcheese:
Seth, that mini bio you gave made me laugh. And btw, jobs like that are generally pretty good. 'Specially for people for like you that don't like people. :) No, I'm being serious! I've done a bit of that work myself, and had a couple friends doing similar stuff, and it's pretty decent work. Slightly boring, but sometimes that's not bad. Not when compared to co-worker or customer drama.
Good thing my sis just called me - I'd forgotten ladies' Bible study was tonight. Oops! Better get busy on the homework...
:beret:
But the important question is can you listen to your music player in one ear while you work?
Singing along with it would be optional, but highly appreciated... :sing:

Hurt in my back, side, and abdomen worse last night...off and on....wondered if it was kidney stone....this morning hurt, wondered if it was my appendix...so I went to the doctor.... Regular doctor wasn't in of course, so went to the walk-in clinic. Did labwork, doctor thinks it's a bacterial infection in the bowels of one sort or another, got antibiotics.
Side is hurting worse again now. Ooch.
Oh, and Shrewby, it's snowing like the dickens, you hateful old biddy.
Snot Snowing here....sunny and COLD!
*sigh*
Made cinnamon rolls for breakfast.
It's so cold I wish it would just go ahead and snow here!
Brandon and I went to check out my 'new' car. Needs some love and care. It's been sitting in a driveway since 1999. It's a gray 1983 Chevy Cavalier. It was purchased brand new 12 days after I was born :) Getiing the title squared away next week and hopefully finding a way to haul it to my house this weekend.

I took my driver's test in an '86 model.....four door, blue and a five speed. Was a good little car as I remember. Mama decided she wanted a station wagon and traded it in on a Dodge Colt.
And in other news- twas an interesting day. We've been kinda lucky with the whole "Occupy" movement in that they have coexisted with the city pretty well. The city did NOT play their games and arrest them and give them attention, just gave them a place to camp and wave their signs. Kinda deflated their little balloon.
That is until today. One of the nutcases that apparently had not bathed or shaved since his "movement" began a few weeks ago handcuffed himself to the bronze railing on the front steps of the Capitol. Needless to say we had to remove his cuffs, and none of our keys worked. And he'd lost or thrown his away. A call to the Maitnance shop, a set of bolt cutters later, and he was no longer attached to my Capitol. In the meantime, the local television station and press arrived. I managed to avoid the camera, I think. My buddy was not so fortunant. He was posted online before he got the report done. :biglaugh: And after my first personal encounter with this movement, I have came to the conclusion that these idiots don't know what they're protesting against, they just don't want to have to work. :smirk2:

Tended fowl while it was yet day and I wasn't hurting much. All done excepting for shutting everybody up that's not in bed yet here just in a little bit when they finish going to roost.

Actually the :hippy: is somewhat apt. Anyone who was around in the late 60's/early 70's will recognize in the recent "occupy" movement the same general attitude the hippy generation had... at least the hippies who marched in protests against big corporations and the government.
Shew, Lord.
Back at work. And I wasn't as fortunant as I thought in avoiding the cameras. On the back page of the "Arkansas" section of the state paper, there I am in living color. And the camera added, oh, fifty pounds or so. :laughhard:

Did it subtract from your hight too?

Howdy y'all!
For the record, a three-pound box of Russel Stover's seconds is a lot of chocolate candy. Three boxes of the same is entirely too much. What'n'th'world was I thinking? Was I thinking?
In the meantime, it's time to start plowing through all these records my piano teacher loaned me. :D
I feel like el poopo.
Somebody go tend the fowl for me....
At home on lunch eatin left over chicken Alfredo pasta.
Today has been a hard one at work. Quite a few pets either being euthanized or found deceased and the owners calling to demand why. And I think the old weather has everyone in a funk. Cranky cranky people....

I am thankful today for MelMel, Seth, and the little bit of my sanity I have left. I am also going to attack hug those two...and huggggggggg the rest of you because I realize how precious life really is after last night...
I loves you all from the bottom of my crazy little heart :)
MellowYellow, did you ever make a thread about how to use leftover turkey?
No.. I got sidetracked. If you haven't started one, I'm starting one now...
Mmmm... now I'm hungry. ☺
Okay, I was wondering if anyone had heard of "Muck" boots? and if you tried them did they have good arch support....
I am trying to decide if I want to invest in good "chore" boots...or just buy another pair of track shoes and get rubber over shoes...hmmmm
*HUGS* to all who need a few.
Mainly cause I need them. :smirk2:
Dad goes in at 7:30am to get his port put in for dialysis, he wasn't supposed to have it till next week, but the Dr said today his kidneys are at 10% functioning level now and he needs to start the process immediately!
UGH.
Im at church. That's all.
/me hugs MelMel tight
I'm so sorry Mel. He will feel much better I think afterwards though I think is the common effect.
Oh you guys. Life can be so complex no matter how simple I'd like to make it. I'm a black and white person most of the time but wow, some situations are hard. Thank goodness there IS a God who is a good God. I wish some situations could just be absolved immediately instead of draaaagggggiiiinnng out, peaking it's head and throwing a temper tantrum randomly. I wish all parties involved would just get Jesus and it'd be on the mend. Blech. I'd put it to yas for input but I don't know that that will really help. I'd think the prayer vial is full already... lol Must be room for more.
I'm so ready to be over this crud.
Dad actually turned the furnace on this evening finally.
My mom had a surgery on her nose today to remove a skin cancer or whatever.
I'm sposed to meet that lady for an interview Friday morning.
LORD, help me be healed..... Like asap. My world is falling apart around me when I don't feel like doing anything. Oy.....
Praying for you, Seth.
I've heard of muck boots. Arch support depends on what brand you buy probably. I'd say just get some galoshes to put over your regular shoes - cheaper, easier to clean and you'd have your shoes' arch support.
In other news: Went to work, came home.

Five-oh: Some city folks don't know the difference. To them all evergreens smell vaguely the same.

Did I not go through all this already? :eyebrow:

You probably did, I just didn't remember. Hope you feel better soon.
It's actually real and medically documented...THIS time. :hypocrite:
Dad is out. In recovery. Everything went well, and we should be going home soon.
And just so y'all know, the WiFi in this hospital is terrible. Keeps going in and out and frustrating me. If people have to be here, at least they could have decent WiFi so we can keep my mind off of the worries. Ugh.
Isn't that what they call those giant worms that eat all your food & just keep growing? What are you feeding that amoeba, Seth?
To your house... are you scared? :hyper: You should text me.
Who's house, Heather's? If you don't clarify I bet you're gonna get a whole lot of texts. Hope you have the unlimited plan.
hmm, I thought I quoted. and yes, I do have unlimited texting.
Nope, ya di'n't. I was confused but since I have nothing better to do while I wait for some records to run, I backtracked and found Heather's post (three pages ago) as the most probable target of your response.
did someone say mystery chocolate? sounds like my kinda deal....
i had a big fat cow step on my foot....n i called her a heifer....i don't think she was too offended....
Yeah, mystery chocolate. You get whatever they were running when they had a few that were bent out of shape and they tossed them down the "rejected because they weren't perfect" chute. With experimentation I have determined that the dark chocolate rectangles with white stripes are a really chewy caramel, the oblong milk chocolates are either raspberry or orange cream, the round milk chocolate is either vanilla cream, coconut or some kind of custard creme, the milk chocolate rectangles are roman nougat (score!) and the round milk chocolates with chocolate sprinkles are chocolate truffles.
That's in this box. Who knows what the other two boxes have...
And where can i buy these mystery chocolates?
I'd imagine at any Russel Stover's factory outlet. Big box, 3 pounds, labeled either "Seconds" or "Bloopers."
I just wonder if the guy in charge of filling them and weighing them to 3 pounds ever samples what is coming down the chute. Hmmm... I wonder if Russel Stover's is hiring right now.
Chel never DID say who was supposed to be sending her a text. Everyone text her, just in case you're the one she was talking to.

Tried to nap a while...it was partially successful and partially not, for both internal and external reasons.
Gonna trudge to church in a while.... Getting healed would be just great.
I was gonna see if I could get the Stangers to come and help with the service, but when I called Bro. Stanger (found out when I did that my dad had called him last night to have him pray for me and mom etc.), I found out that Sis. Stanger is laid up with cancer! Ugh.... That is no good, no good at all.
So I'm just gonna go on and wing it....If I'm sick, I'll be sick here as much as I am there, so what's the diff. And maybe I will get a touch, I hope and pray. lol

Lord, everything goes to Hades when I don't feel well enough to do things....that's when everything falls apart.... I have a PILE of dead birds from the last couple days due to various things that have happened. :sob:
Ugh.
Lord help me, Please, really.
Meller....if you're connected to Mary on Facebook she posted a whole slew of photos from her Asia trip today!
Well, I survived. I think. lol It didn't feel very good, but I endured.... Played the piano instead of the organ so I wouldn't have to use my feet so much, thought that might be less intensive.... All the singing and talking was kind of a strain though anyways. Feels weird playing the piano and leading. I play other places and it's not so weird, but felt wacky at home being so used the organ all the time.
Anyways....Lord, go on and heal me up....I'm READY to be OVER this.....Oy!
Lord, heal his mind while you're at it, please.

:hi: Morning.
Shew.
Went to the doc again this morning.
Sposed to go get a CT scan in a while.... I hope that's not just a big hassle and waste.... It'll just rule out an abscess or etc. If it doesn't find anything out of the way, then I'll just have to get over it anyways. She's going to add another antibiotic prescription too.
Morning y'all!
Seth: Whoa, never though about an abscess... Sure hope it's not that.
Gone to take my grandma to the nursing home. No, not that way!... she's a volunteer there.
Work has been a total nightmare the last couple days. I'm ready for another vacation please!
This afternoon is just dragging...
And I post for the first time today.... went to visit an old friend today. He's a retired cop and don't get out of the house much, so I went a got him. We wound up going to Ihop, where he bought me breakfast, then cruised around the countryside in his '46 Mercury. Absolutley smashing day. :thumbsup2:
And Cheese texted me a bit ago. I'd normally not post this as it's his business, but he's posted on here most of his sickness, so..... say another prayer for him, he was headed for the hospital earlier. I jokingly said I hoped they'd keep him and he replied that they were......If he was serious, which I believe he was, it may be a bit before he gets back on here.
Oh dear. Just when I tease him it turns out serious. :-\
Let them find any and everything that could possibly be causing him distress & fix it so when he comes home, he'll have no complaints. ☺
Andrew's heading to his section Christmas youth party with his white elephant gift... Poor sap that gets that. He wrapped it in bright sparkly wrapping paper to 1.not be assumed associated with it & 2. to make it look appealing to someone else.

*is worried about Cheese*
David decided to stay an extra night with us, so we'll take him back home when we head to town for the Christmas parade tomorrow. Hurray for Christmas and snow! :D
*suddenly realized Cheese isn't here to fuss about the snow comment and is sad* :sadbounce:

asking for prayer for our dear friend Seth Eads. As far as the doctors can tell his appendix has ruptured and he has been admitted to Bloomington hospital. Looks like he will be in there the next week trying to clear up infection and in about six weeks they will remove what is left of his appendix. Thanks for the prayers"
Oh, wow. Poor Seth.

i'm eating steak at APB's.
i somehow survived today......so thankful for the next 2 days off.
Whoops! That ain't good, nohow!
Well at least they know what it is now and are moving to fix it. (It ain't my business but) I wonder if he has any health insurance.
In other news: Went to work, came home. My ankle is giving me trouble. I think I overdid it last night.
In other, other news: Tomorrow I'm gonna try something in the kitchen. Chocolate egg custard pie like I made last Sunday (that went so well) but this time instead of milk I'll use mostly heavy table cream. And real butter instead of margarine. And dutch cocoa.
Yeah my dear SmoopsiePoo is sick and in the hosp.
:sadbounce:
His sister is supposed to be bringing him a laptop so he can get online, but he doesn't seem hopeful that that will happen.
We should also fill up two or three sharing threads so he has a lot to catch up on when he gets home! ;)
(I am also quite happy that he is being forced to sleep in a BED and not draped over various pieces of furniture. And the fact that he has to chill out and slow down...if it wasn't so painful, he MIGHT could relax.)
Seth was the main one to lock these threads down and unlock the new ones. With him gone, this thread might go on as long as the "Last person to post wins" threads.
sounds good to me... with him gone the natives and birds can run amok!!!!! :up2:
:sadbounce: I hope he's back soon
Hello. What's left of me is still alive. My sister brought me a laptop.
Back on da field!
Howdy Seth. Though I am glad to see you back online, I should probably say log off and rest.
Good thing you picked this century to have a ruptured appendix though. That used to be fatal.
Pooh heads....
Well, yes, I'm in the hospital. Nope, I don't have insurance. I'll be selling my ruptured appendix on Ebay. I hope it looks like the image of some famous person. :smirk2:
I'll post some more useless trivia in a bit. I don't feel as poopy as I did. Though I about joked to death on milk while ago due to something my sister said about something in the paper.
Laundry Day...here again...under things...tumbling....
[sorry I'm a theatre kid :biglaugh: ]
Did you know Dolph Lundgren [the 'Russian' in Rocky IV] has an IQ of 160 and helped develop the water filtration system in NASA shuttles? I find that fascinating.
I have an ally in APB's dad. His mom is essentially living Brandon's 20s for him while he's busy being the adult. His dad's told him he needs to stop being the person to always bow to her every whim. This all came about because due to work and rehearsal my only free time is friday evenings and saturdays. B's mom decided she needed 50 million things done yesterday and today and I finally just exploded. [reminder it had been a bad week so i was on edge anyway]. I told B I was mad having to make plans for my life determined by the whims and decisions of his mother. They are supposed to have a 'talk' about it soon. To be continued.....

Though I about joked to death ...
I LOVE that typo. Haha!
I thought it was an intentional typo as a pun.
Lets hope your appendix looks like the virgin Mary. More money in it.
Hail Mary.....
:bustamove:
:waving:
