What subject(s) in school did you get all A's in?
:beret:
I barely remember school, how am I supposed to remember my grades? :laughhard:
Unfortunately, the classes I had all As in were very limited so I can remember those. :smirk2: Looking back I realize that it was more laziness than anything. When I did my work and studied, I did well. I just didn't realize the importance of school at the time and didn't always make it a priority. It's one of those things I wish I could go back and do over.
One of my best subjects was math, but once I got my required math out of the way in high school I decided not to put any unnecessary burden on myself and take the more advanced classes. Most of my friends were taking Calc and Trig as electives. I was taking the "easy A" classes as my electives keeping my GPA at a decent average and sailing through.
Another subject I did well in was Psychology. Once the teacher went around the room and asked each person certain questions to prove a point that he could guess what type of work our parents did and what type of thing we most wanted to do when we graduated. He got every person in the room 100% correct on both parts except for me and he couldn't have been farther off.
Our English classes were divided by having grammar one semester and literature the other semester. In grammar we had to write an essay every week. That's the only thing that got me through the grammar part. Our essays were due every Friday and on Friday morning I would get to school about 30 minutes early and go in the lunchroom and write mine and spend the rest of the time hanging out with friends. Always Aced those but did lousy in the rest of the classwork. Literature - no comment.

Sounds good
sis mom, what is your favorite bible story and why?
Jonah and the "great fish".
It shows me that God doesn't just see us as we are but where we can be. He knows our potential and our ability. It also shows me that God never gives up and He'll go to extreme measures to get through to even the most stubborn people to draw us to Himself and to fulfill His purpose in our lives. The Bible doesn't record Jonah's every thought while he was in the fish, but I think I have a pretty good guess myself. ;)
There are so many things I can get from this story, and sometimes it depends on where I am in my walk with God as to what I get from it, but I always see God's love, mercy, compassion, even though it may not "look" that way.
Jon 2:1-9
Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly,
And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.
For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.
Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.
The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.
I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.
When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.
They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.
But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.

dear Lord forgive her, her trespasses :P
I only eat pizza when I feel like I have to in order to be polite, or when I get in a very strange mood and have an unusual craving for it. Pizza is not on the list of my favorite foods, but when feeling forced and if I can stomach it at the time I'll eat it. Otherwise...... :tantrum:
Kade, do you think the Lord will forgive me for that?
now I am hungry for pizza
i cant say

well that too lol, but not just yet sis mom, i just wrote something and thought i would share, so please bear with me. ahem.
it was a really dark and bleak night
i was so lost and so cold
lost in the twilight zone
and i was searching for some warmth
some kind of meaning in life
then all of a sudden there appeared before me
the holy zippo
and it said to me
my child you are a called one
you are to spread my fire through out the world
so from that moment on
i carried that fire
and i burned as many things as i could
for the sake of my zippo.
then one day the holy zippo returned unto me
and said so sweetly in my ear
i have called another
she will share in your burden
you both have carried my fire all alone
but now you can share the fire together
and never more will you be mocked or scorned
for they will see that you hold
the holy zippo.
---the end.

If you could be any animal, which animal would you want to be, and why?
Animal? Don't you want to know something easy to answer, like if I ever spent my summer in a Turkish prison? ???
I need to think about this one. I'll try not to hurt myself. :P
I'm still waiting for an answer before I ask another question.
Good! That way I won't strain my brain too hard. :kermit:
Why do you have a penguin as your av?
because that's what I chose to use until I can change it to something else at a later time.

I'll see if I can get away with a partial answer, or the answer I'm leaning towards.
Keeping in mind that you asked whcih animal I would "want" to be, not which animal I think I'm like, I'm thinking lion. They're fearless, strong, their only known natural enemy is humans (that's as far as I can see from what I've read so far), they're very family/community oriented. One thing that makes me hesitant to say the lion is the fact that they prey on the weak, but if I think of that as design and survival and not character flaw, then I can live with it. :thumbsup2:

Thanks for praying.
We started getting things on the 3rd floor organized to prepare to start decorating for the employee kids Christmas party.
You're welcome. :thumbsup2:
Ahhh...got it.
I woke up around one, and decided to go back to sleep, I felt lots better...my heart was back to normal, so I went back to sleep till 3. Been up ever since. I need to go get some stamps, but I dont wanna get up and get dressed. You are not planning a trip to WM are you? If you are over this side, I could meet you and get my jacket. But no biggie.
Scare? What scare? :scared:
I was not feeling very well last night and this morning, and my pulse was real low for several hours...I was scared. So I called Mom when I got home, and asked her to pray for me. I was scared to go to sleep, but I was so tired, I could not keep my eyes open. When I got up, I felt normal again. So the prayers that went up for me worked. :D
I was very thankful.

What is the fondest memory you have of something in your past?
Times spent with my maternal grandmother. I remember always feeling so happy and loved when she was around. Everyone felt that way around her because she respected and loved everyone no matter their skin color, background, what they had done, social status. The only preferences she showed was to children, all children. I never once heard her say an unkind word to or about anyone. She showed me what unconditional love means.
I didn't fully appreciate this until I was older and learned more about the way she grew up. Her Mother was native american and her Dad, a white man who was the only doctor around who would go on the reservation to give them medical treatment. During the time my grandmother was growing up, the natives were still treated very poorly and were social outcast. Many people still believed they were nothing more than savages. So, growing up as a native american would have been difficult enough, but as a mixed indian and white was even worse. Many people who grow up being mistreated due to their skin color tend to harbor hatred and mistrust. She was the opposite. She went out of her way to treat all people with respect, love and compassion.

They're both just beautiful and if I saw these at a time when I could get a bear and had to choose only one I would choose the one on the left because I like her style better. Graphic Artist.
I work for a bank that has 34 branches in the state of Florida, and is scheduled to open 2 more in the near future. I am a guardian of the banks image. This includes anything and everything that is produced with the bank logo, whether advertising in magazines, newspaper or any type of print, flyers, brochures, postcards, billboards, displays, t-shirts, hats, or any of the more than 100 various items in our marketing department..... and more, but I couldn't possibly list them all here. I am one of two graphic designers for the bank. I'm not really sure if there is a way to describe everything I do. For example: part of my job is keeping our employee photos updated on our intranet compliance site... all employees at all branches and corporate. Once I was asked to position a clock on our main branch in various positions to show the president and CEO how it would look so he could decide where he wanted the clock placed. We're getting ready for our children's Christmas party and have been working on cleaning the areas that will be used, digging things out of storage, etc. I'd say our biggest challenge is our loan officers. We have some very creative loan officers who have some really interesting ideas on how to promote the different types of loans. There is a running joke in the office that we're waiting for one of them to get the idea of asking one of us to jump out of an airplane with a parachute printed with some sort of advertising. If they only knew how much I'd love to do that . . . . . .

Quote from: Mz. Ethyl on December 30, 2007, 10:53:37 PM
If you could eliminate one emotion from your life, which would it be?
I wouldn't eliminate any of them. Not one. They all serve a purpose. Without loneliess, we would be celf-centered, without anger, we would have a hard time defining where we draw our lines and what our limits are, sadness is the most amazing of all the negative emotions - it's sometimes the result of our heart's desire going beyond ourselves and see's the needs of another, sometimes it's the result of our own pain that another has caused and when we get to the point where we can acknowledge and express it, we then open ourselves up to many wonderful and good things happening - being ministered to by others, being ministered to by God, growing, learning..... etc.
Not that I enjoy negative emotions at all and don't like being in a place of being in need, but without every single emotion we can experience we would be less than what we are. If we allowed ourselves to not feel one emotion, I believe it would be the first step to our heart becoming as a stone. As much as it can hurt, I want a soft heart.

Why do we sometimes write not what we thought we did only to later read what we wrote and only then discover that we didn't write what we meant to?
The same reasons when we don't write what we meant to is sometimes the right thing to write instead of what we thought to write, what we actually wrote is exactly what someone needed to read, instead of what was in our head.
Hey! That rhymes....... well, kinda. :P

Oooooo I never thought of that...Im not answering, but I will ask my Daddy...he works in a funeral home. Did yall know that when you die, and they dress you, they wont put your own socks or underwere on you? They throw those away that the family brings in, and they put on brand new stuff.
Thats just stupid. Dad says cause they are stained and stuff, but who cares? You are dead! Who is gonna know? If they are good enough to wear while you are alive, why not when you are dead?
Ok...Ill leave now. :pwink:
