In local news, I woke up with a jump when I realized I didn't have any clean work clothes. Fortunately I have just enough time to get some washed and dried.
Lands. Throw one little rock in a pack of dogs, and look at 'em yip... :laughhard:
I'm not a dog, I'm a lynx. Get it right.
And when I went to wash a load of work clothes, I found out we were out of Borax and just a little bit of laundry detergent left. So I had to get creative, fast. I used the scant half-handful of laundry detergent that was left, a little bleach, a little Purple Power degreaser and some dawn dishwashing liquid. It worked, didn't foam up too bad and got all the factory grime out of my clothes.

Jenn, I heard Isaac is black..... And I noticed you didn't omit guys that live with their G'ma. :hypocrite:
I do believe Tia and Isaac have a lot in common. Just sayin'
He can't live with anyone. He needs to be self-sufficient. I live on my own. I am independent, and self-sufficient. It's intensley unattractive for a man to not be self-supporting. Education increases his chances. A nice job increases his chances. Ministry minded increases his chances.
Also not attractive to have a fear of social media. Not saying that's bad, but seriously? You don't want to share stuff via a place you call safe? Social media is increasingly rising. I'm a very private person, so I do limit what I share as well...but really. There is a balance.
And I didn't say black - I said less white. lol
1. I am NOT burning my skin and courting skin cancer for anyone.
2. Fear does not factor into it. I have no use for social media. If I had a use for it, I would use it - but I probably would use something better than Facebook.
3. I am in fact a minister. Don't get any ideas though.
4. I have lived on my own and did well. Currently my place is here. If I moved out the whole family would be really worried and have to call Grandma umpteen times a day just to be sure she was okay.
5. I think I'm going to go buy a can of mellow yellow, poke holes in it and let it drain. Kind of like a voodoo doll, y'know.
Baaaahahahahaha!! This is so hilarious. :laughhard:

And MelodyB, I never said never about that. I just said such is impossible. "Is" does not mean "will always be." Get your verb tenses straight. ;)
Just for the record... there's a HUGE difference between boys who live with their mamas, and mamas who live with their boys. Also grandmas who live with their grandsons, as opposed to grandsons living with their grandmas. Just sayin'.... :P

Coming up with a song set list for Fuel 2013 (Young Adult retreat Texas has every year).
Can't shake the songs about the name of Jesus.
Thankful for his guiding hand. Just want to minister to my peers.
Coincidentally, the theme for 2013 General Conference was The Name.
What style of music does this retreat usually do?
Offhand the best one I know is the Wilbanks "In Your name"

Little more youthy. While it's not a Youth function or youth themed, the music is more like Jesus Culture, CNFI, Tasha Cobbs, Hillsong, etc.
Last year we did both days of the music. This year another church is doing Friday night, we're doing Saturday.
Here is the set list we did last year.
More Love More Power
I Worship You (Deitrick Haddon)
I Exalt Thee (Jesus Culture)
Better Is One Day Medley
We Praise Your Name
Fall In This Place
Nothing But the Blood (Jesus Culture)
I Will Bless the Lord (Mary Alessi)
Jesus be the Center
I'm actually going a little old school for one of the songs...
Thinking of doing "There's Just Something About that Name" (CNFI version) and going straight into Break Every Chain (Tasha Cobbs).
My mind immediately went to the old hymn "Take The Name Of Jesus With You" ,but I doubt most Apostolic youth would know that one. I love the message in that old hymn.
We've "youthed" up some of those old songs. Nothing But the Blood, I Exalt Thee. Jesus Culture has youthed some of them up. I love that they did that!
Here's one of the few jazzed up Pentecostal renditions of the hymn I've heard
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3D-5ff_DpA8 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3D-5ff_DpA8)
I'm used to hearing it acapella since that's how we do it in my church.
Weirdos.
My two favorite acappella albums talk a lot about Jesus and his name. Never get tired of songs that remind me of my savior and his love for me.
First one is the album "Before The Throne" by Rescue

Morning all. Am back at work on my friday- thank God. I need a weekend. Had an unusual service last night- lots of music, five different ministers spoke briefly and the power of God moved. I spoke briefly on our heritage. And that's sharing a la Roscoe. :P

Yall pray I get a job and QUICK!!! We need money so I can get out of here.
:frustrated:
Car is semi-fixed. Found the root of the problem finally that messed everything else up. Part should be here Tuesday. [Ebay was cheaper than AZ even with Brandon's discount].
I have been in a horrible spunk all week. I work. I come home. I cry. I sleep. That's about it....
Why are you crying? You're engaged! You should be floating on air!
Finally got to talk to my neighbor lady that I want to win. In Jesus name!
Praying Mel and Sandra.
Pretty sure i would be crying if I was engaged too. Haha
Huh. I think I did more crying while I was engaged than in the rest of my life put together. Being engaged stinks. People should just get married and get on with life. ;)
:beret:
PREACH SISTER!!!
Im not OFFICIALLY engaged, but we know we are getting married and he asks me to marry him 100 times a day...literally. And I say yes every time, but 20 mins later, he asks again. lol
Boys. SMH.
As for the crying...I havent really cried much since Allan came into my life. A few times, but it was just a brief tearing up. However...I cried a few times this week cause of the things Dad said to me, but most of those crying times, I was laying on the floor in the prayer room with just me and Jesus...so that doesnt really count...Prayer crying is different than emotional girl crying.
To me anyway.
For some reason every time I read the title of this thread a song drifts through my head...
"All my rowdy friends have settled down" :sing:
I'm not an expert. We weren't in church, were pregnant and were 18. And we eloped. Lol We needed Jesus! We would not be on our 16th yr if it wasn't for both of us choosing Jesus. Oh His mercy!! I am the LEAST of these.
It warms my heart hearing your love journey, Mel.
We are having a Youth party fellowship thing tonight and as usual, Im in charge of all the food. So I gotta go get started on it.
Cooking the hamburger meat first, adding the mamwich sauce and slow simmering it all day in the crockpot. Then I have two boxes of cupcakes to make and decorate. And get the fellowship hall set up. Gonna be a great day!
After Allan gets paid and his check cashed today, I gotta go up there and get the money to go pay our phone bill. Thats also very important. lol
Y'all should just pack up and move to the town where Chel is. I'm sure you could find a job there. ;)

Seriously though. Besides saving money to actually move...
You have the whole world to go adventure with your love. You could live anywhere!
I like Sipper's perspective. I asked Lou sometime in July- I think- she said yes, and we got married the fifth of September. Didn't want her to change her mind, which she nearly did anyway. :ugly: And if y'all move, ya gotta at least come see what WE have to offer and not go off of preconcieved notions. Just sayin'. :P
And in sharing- I woke up this morning in a horrid state of mind. Felt like every sin I'd ever committed was staring me down, and making me realize how sorry an individual I truely am. Feeling like a total failure, I dropped Chey off at school, and headed to the one place I knew I'd find peace. The church. After an hour of bawling and resting in Jesus' arms, a true peace came in and swept me away. Spent a bit of time praying for all my friends too. SO GLAD God cares enough to just be there for us in those hard times. I bet the devil doesn't try that tactic again on me for a while. It had the reverse effect- it drove me to shelter, which I needed.
And then, walking out the door of the church, I met a sister who'd dropped by to pray today too. Apparently, I wasn't the only one that needed that place of refuge. Then, I picked my phone out of the console of the truck to find two messages from a dear friend who had no idea what was going on, and who hadn't talked to me in a week. They stated that 1) Whatever was heavy on my heart God had heard my prayers. and 2) he'd felt a need to talk to me. I called him blubbering, and he tells me he'd had nearly the same experience this morning..Wow. Just wow.... definately a God thing.
Now I'm at home fixing to cook some Yardbird for dinner. :fork:
What in the world is "yardbird?" I know you have said your yard had gotten out of control a few times this summer. Does the long grass attract some kind of AR rodent?
Or is this something that you hit on the road that ran from someone's yard?
:P
Almost cold cloudy day here. Potato soup is on. Fall is in full swing!
There is a YouTube video of a girl explaining Minnesotans. I know I'm from IA but it makes me want to move north. If global warming would cut out the snow, I'd be there.
:pound: It's chicken, ya unedjucated Yankee. :P And it ain't cold enough for tater soup yet.., here it ain't anyways.
It was 47* one morning taking Andrew to school, don't ya know! That's cool enough for me. Grant it, it's almost 70 right now with a chilly breeze but a storm is rolling in.
It's 82 here, but supposed to be a bit cooler this weekend.
Argh! I HATE computers. I've chased a rare ham station around for the better part of a week trying to make contact. He's on an island I need to have a contact with for an award. I FINALLY make contact with the joker, type the info into my logging program- and before I can hit "save" the battery on the 'puter dies, with no warning. Wipes out every trace- time, frequency, everything. I had to do a systems restore to get the comuter to even boot back up. :pound:
Now it's like I've never talked to him. My own fault, I shoulda watch the battery level closer, but I swear this diabolical computer timed it like that on purpose. :pound: :pound:
I have a horrible tendency to just stop doing anything when I get too much going on. Currently I have bible college, kitchen remodeling, constant car issues, wedding planning/crafting, health issues, and not to mention how I'm paying for any of the above especially with my [insert all sorts of banned words] job issues. So instead of taking care of any of these things I just go soak in the bathtub and cry. Thankfully an amazing friend of mine stepped in yesterday with some very encouraging words and prayer. Also in my church stress Brandon stepped up and said we are going to my church sunday. Thank ya Jesus!
Just to share a little something....the other night I went to the cemetary where my daddy is, and some of his flowers were missing. Couldn't get back there for a couple of days to replace them, so when I finally got the chance, as I'm driving there, it starts raining----really hard. I will admit I don't pray as I should, but the only thi ng I could think was to say a little prayer. So, I ask if He could please make it stop, or at least slack up just long enough for me to get those flowers put on my daddy. To my suprise, about a half mile from the cemetary---IT QUITS RAINING!!! As I pull in, it starts misting. I jump out of my car and run across the cemetary. There were four vases I needed to repair. Put the first one in...the second one...the third one...then just as I got the fourth one in, a clap of thunder hit, and the bottom fell out! I got soak and wet before I got back to my car, but was laughing because I did ask for just enough time to replace the flowers. Guess I got what I ask for. Hmmmm...maybe He does still listen to me!

What gets me is that diabetes isn't chronic 99% of the time. It's preventable, and to a certain point, which your dad has passed, reversible. It angers me what commercialism is teaching people. There are more and more each day though, coming out with their story that they are no longer diabetic. Irrelevant for your dad
but I hope NONE of the rest of us go through that! We can eat correctly now or be told what to eat to salvage our lives later.
Night #1 at my parents is over. I ended up cuddling with my dad's CDL manual on the couch. They are gone to Charlotte so i'm pet sitting. I've started to do crazy stuff in my sleep again. I was the worlds worst when I was younger to sleep walk. My parents had to put a chain on the front door waaay up where I couldn't reach it. Brandon says I'm getting up and pacing the house at night. I don't remember any of it when I get up.
o.O A guy at our church was talking about how he was bad to sleepwalk. He got kind of nervous about it because he has a handgun, and no telling what he might do in his sleep. He finally had his wife hide it and not tell him where it is.

He's been in the hospital for the past couple of weeks. Unexplained migrain symptoms that mimic a stroke for one thing...
Awesome service this morning. We went to my home church. Brandon said this week he can tell a difference in me between the two churches. During praise and worship God just dropped into my spirit to go up front and have Bro Ketron pray for us as a couple. Of course in my mind i'm like 'really God. the guy who takes 5 smoke breaks during service?' And God's answer was 'well yeah...' So I turned to Brandon and asked if he'd go up front with me to let Bro Ketron pray over us. He just looked at me and said ok. He never goes up to the altar for anything. Praise and worship. Altar call. Anything. But Bro Ketron prayed for us and a couple seconds into it I though he was gonna squeeze my hand off!!! It may not seem like much to anyone else but it's a chip out of that wall he has up about God. A dear lady in the church who I absolutely adore came up to Brandon after service and told him she understood how Pentecostal churches can be different and bit scary but if he'd hold on God has amazing things planned for his life. He seemed flabbergasted by it. We went to eat with friends of ours after service and on the way back to my parents he asked if it would be ok to come back to my church all the time. :hyper:  That although he likes his church it wasn't family like it is at my church. I just feel like shouting now.....
That's great!

It's just me, water, and the Lord. He's gonna have to really work with me, cause it ain't looking good from my side of things. :pound:
In local sharing, I finally, FINALLY got a chance to make a batch of sourdough. The General Conference trip wiped out the last two loaves I had, I didn't have time to make more before this weekend and I'm NOT using that spongy, floppy, gummy store bread, so I've been without bread for a bit.
There is nothing like a garden-ripe tomato, sliced thick, on whole wheat sourdough bread. Very good lunch.
In other sharing news, our church is trying to do Hezekiah Walker's "Celebrate." Unfortunately our church has trouble with songs that are supposed to be sung mostly on the half-beat, so it's a bit of a mess right now. Also unfortunately, they told me "you're Hezekiah Walker." In other words, I'm doing the descant. Does anyone have any tips for how to get a group of people who were raised on southern gospel to learn how to sing black choir?

Heather! That's fabulous!
:beret:
Contrary to Mini-ster, I was NOT leading a parade, especially not in a pink squad car. :pound: I was *working*, something that clown knows nothing about. :hypocrite:
And yes, Taco is out...talked to him for nearly an hour on the way home yesterday. Still having some pain, still in need of prayers, but much better than he was, praise God.
And in sharing- I is up. I has Dr,. Pepper. And I is ready to return to the house. Not sick, not really tired, just don't wanna be here. :P

Since when?
Well. I got the results from my sleep study today. The doctor told me that optimal oxygen levels are "upper 90's"...mine dips into the low 70's at night. If you stop breathing more than 5 times an hour at night you are considered a candidate for a CPAP machine- being an overachiever, I quit breathing 25 times an hour at night....no wonder Lou says I wake up gasping.
So, I get to go back to the Frankinstine sleep lab monday to get "fitted" for my machine. Maybe I will have energy to DO something after this... And the doctor says it will be much easier on my heart too, which probably needs all the help it can get- it's kinda like the Grinch's heart sometimes, and I don't help it with my 40 extra pounds..:sadbounce:

Well he IS kinda big... not fat, just big. I have a couple of friends at church that are built to the same scale. I tease them that they take up more space than they are worth. :P

Hey taco, remember to share.
Sorry, that's the best I can do for reminding you. If I wait any longer I'll forget. :-/

Some peoples Pastors!! lol
Short summary:
Got very sick.
Got Admitted to Hospital.
Got to try the legal version of heroin and really really hated it. I cannot figure out why anyone would want to take it all the time.
Had at least half a dozen doctors who apparently never met or spoke to each other.
Had a nurse try to kill me twice Saturday night.
Got poked, prodded, probed, and tortured in numerous other ways.
Finally got released and started recovering.
I am still very weak in pain and recovering but GOD is my strength. They now believe that it all started from a severe sinus infection which spread inward. Don't know all the lingo but it was bad and could have been much worse. I had a total of 4 seizures from it and the absolute worst pain I ever thought possible.
Still can't go back to work praying for provision and trusting. Planning to preach 2 times this Sunday though so pray for my strength.
GOD got me through this and I have no doubt had a reason for this. I have seen the miraculous more than once in the last 3 weeks and am believing for more!!
Thanks for the prayers!!
P.S. I don't want you to think I am down on nurses. Several were literally my heroes while I was in the hospital and went above and beyond to take care not only of me but also my wife. So I am looking for a My heroes are Nurses cap. lol One of the Hero nurses was a thousand miles away in Texas and another in Jackson MS and they do not know how thankful I was for them and their constant communicating with Elona. Y'all helped her get through some very terrifying moments. Thanks Chel!

I've been home in bed all day. I can't decide if the headache or the backache is worse right now. So it's an unexpected 'vacation' day for me.
I got an email today that everything but my dress came in the store. So I'll be hopefully making a trip to Knoxville monday to pick things up. Also we have an appointment to go by my friend Timmy's bakery and try cake monday afternoon.
Interesting service. Had a boy come in during worship service- tattered clothes, unshaven, tattos all over- and sit down on the back pew. In just a bit he had his head down sobbing. One of the brothers went back and began to pray with him....long story short, backslider of 14 years. Very intoxicated, very convicted. We will see what God does......

Said it once and I will say it again, Revival is coming to that church. I feel it every time I come there. Expect it!
I've been sidetracked for several days and forgot to check the board... just getting caught up on the last 3 pages of sharing.
Had a blast tonight a Bible study. Our former preacher and his family was there. Before we got started on the study our current preacher Scott was giving the former preacher a hard time about for the past 2 or so years he's used and abused Scott as a sermon example so now its payback time.
Stayed home today. Stomachs upset.
Had such a bad headache all day yesterday.
Was bordering migraine by time I went to bed.
Think I'm just headache sick today. :smirk2:
Bah. Back at work. Thank God it is my friday.... Im tired today. But the next two days I am off. It's "County Cleanup" week with free trips to the dump so I am gonna try to haul off some junk..

Three broken T.V's and maybe a very dead laptop that I dropped a few years back. Broke the screen and damaged the hard drive- I got it to work for a while with another screen, but it finally fried totally. Might keep it for parts though..
didn't sleep well last night due to headache, stomach ache, and sweating horribly badly. drug myself to urgent care this morning. they gave me 3 shots in the bum. slept most of the day. only a tad bit of a headache left thankfully. hopefully i can make it to work tomorrow. I am feeling alot better.

We decided to run to our favorite hole in the wall resteraunt and discovered that not only were they closed for the night, but they are closing for good November 3rd. :cry2: I am not pleased....
And now tomorrow I have to haul off the truckload in Rusty, so Saturday I can haul off the trailer load behind the Canyon. Bah. I'm tired already. At this rate, I will never get time to fix the Corvette again. :-(
Doctors appointment in am. Still having issues. Please pray for wisdom about returning to work. Also please help us pray about some other needs God knows!

In local news, I woke up freezing. I hate when I go to bed on a nice night for an air conditioner and wake up to a morning far too cool for an air conditioner.
I havent slept for three nights. Nightmares, and just general wakefulness. :smirk2:
Got meatballs and spaghetti sauce in the crockpot. Allans request for supper. Im very tired, but Allan is off today so we are both going job hunting. They cut his hours back to 30 a week and with everything we need to be saving for, (car, apartment, WEDDING) 30 hours a week just will not do. So I need a job BADLY, and he needs a new job with better hours and more hourly pay.
God knows and will provide.
We may go fishing this afternoon. All we need is bait...got the poles and gear in the van already ready to go. We keep it in there in case the opportunity arises and we can fish. Be prepared!
It's nice and cool here this morning, too, Isaac.
52* at the moment.
45 here. And rain on the way.
I love rainy weather.
It was raining here the last two days. Good weather for taking long naps. Unfortunately I still can't get the boss at work to see it that way.

back at work today. volunteered to cover another girls shift tomorrow that way my paycheck isn't too sad on Monday. it looks like it's gonna be a good weekend though. corn maze tomorrow evening with the church. I'm running my first 5K Sunday afternoon. Brandon requested Monday off and we are going to try cake for the wedding cupcakes.
Well. I hauled the tires in Rusty off, and discovered that the morons have the gate locked to the electronic bins....have to wait until tuesday to haul the tvs and moniters off. Went and grocery shopped, getting fixings for apple stuffed porkchops...my lord groceries, especially meat, is high.
And while I was unloading Rusty, I received a call from an unfamiliar number. Not being able to answer right then, I called back.
Remember the intoxicated, backslidden lad from Wednesday night? The one that I have called several of my friends-didn't forget you Isaac, but you were working and didn't wanna bother you- and requested prayer specifically for? The one that has been on my heart every since that service because I saw myself in him? That one. He was calling. Crying, to tell me that God was working. He'd came to church after he and his longtime girlfriend who he has two kids with had fought and she kicked him out...He tells me that when he got home, not only had she changed her mind and wanted him to stay, she has agreed to come to church with him Sunday. He told me she knows nothing about pentecost, but they would be there sunday with their kids...
He thanked me, and repeated several times that he didn't understand what was going on...I told him he didn't have too, just run to God and watch things get fixed. I shared my testimony with him, and encouraged him to call me anytime. I was amazed that he called me- and overjoyed. I would've staked the farm that he would never call. I am so excited about what God is doing... This young man and his family are ours, I am claiming them....
Bobby: I was just picking last time. I don't feel left out.
If she doesn't know anything about Pentecost, try not to scare her too badly... ;)

But all kidding aside- true statement.
And in sharing I'm up, it's overcast and time for a run to the landfill...last night was awesome. We had the pastor and his wife over for dinner- big, inch and a half thick chops, stuffed with an apple dressing mixture- pretty tasty if I do say so, although the "dressing" was a little mushier than I wanted- mashed tators, corn, and an apple pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert. :fork:
Most of all was the couple of hours of company that we got to enjoy....time spent with them is unequaled!
Now- you nutcases have a good day, and post something.....
I'm home for work. For now. It was bananas in there today!!! People getting all sorts of upset having to wait 45 minutes on the 1 doctor we have working because your cat has been sick for weeks and you chose to come in on a Saturday..... Maybe you could have come in any of the other 5 DAYS we are open throughout the week and we have 2 if not 3 doctors present...... ::end rant::
Anywho I'm getting ready to get off my keister, fold laundry, eat apple sauce, go to the gym, come home and do more laundry, then head to the corn maze with peeps from church. There may or may not be a nap in there somewhere.....
They said I can't work they didn't mention preaching so I will be twice tomorrow. Pray for me!
Uh... actually scientists did a calorie consumption measurement, or whatever they use to gauge how much work you are doing, and they say a preacher burns up as much calories in a sermon (if you preach it right of course) as a normal person does in an 8 hour work day. Or something like that... don't quote me on it.
add cooking lunch and dinner into that previous post and that was my yesterday. oh and I ended up being the adult with 2 preteen girls all evening. but i wouldn't have done it any other way. also got to bond with Elizabeth and talk with her more. [she's my ex-husbands wife]. we are eerily similar and kinda quirky. we get along great once the awkwardness gets over with. Brandon had a great time and was chatting it up with some of the guys. Luckily the church has quite a few 20-30 year old couples.
Today was not the day to wake up with a headache. I think it's a combo of hanging out on a farm yesterday and the subsequent allergies. I coulda done alot to prevent it when I got home but I was exhausted. So here's to caffeine, ibuprofen, prayer, and onto church and the 5K!!
:hi: Back at work. Slept poorly, as usual, now I'm tired, majorly. Oh well...'tis life. Church tonight, and I am thanking the Man Upstairs that I don't have to preach....
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
:smirk2:
Headache was kicked thankfully. Church was good. We had an evangelist from Kentucky who also happens to be related to a few family's in my church. 5K went awesome!! I finished much quicker than I thought I would. I think the gym's distance reader is wrong....Now I'm home and exhausted. Gonna make pasta bake and soak in a hot bath tub. I hope everyone [Seth included] has had an awesome day and an awesome evening!
:hi:
it's already getting dark too fast for my taste.
:hi: The young man and his family DID show up tonight- him, his wife/girlfriend-not sure which- and two of the cutest little boys you've ever saw, ages 2 and 4....Brother Wilson preached an awesome message about slaying the giants in your life, which ended with the young man in the altar, crying his eyes out. And he was totally sober tonight. His woman teared up when she saw him head to the altar, even though she has no pentecostal experience at all. They stood around and talked after church like they'd been members for years. God is moving...if you can spare a prayer, say one for them. He hasn't got a job right now, and he told me he is really battling his past.
And in other sharing, I'm fixing to eat a pizza- probably the whole pizza- and go to bed.:fork:

Fuel always makes me think of the friendships I have. And how much people label friendship, that is soooo not even close. I guess I have a very specific and defined definition of friendship, and I can count on one hand I consider true friends.
Heart is heavy today in several different areas of my life.
Feeling discouraged.
God has both precious things for you in the future and in the here and now. He alone has the final say. The devil is just plain lying.

Unfortunately no. No one on the board falls in my heart-friend category. Seems harsh, but we don't know one another in person. I have very defined expectations of what true friendship is. Maybe too specific but, that's how I roll. :afro:

Not really no. I am heavily involved in my church, plus I work a full-time job, plus I go to school.
I barely have time for my own stuff, let alone any other extracurricular activities.
Nor do I have the money. At all. Any time I spend not at work, it's for some form of church function.
That's usually where my vacation and money go.

Went by the university to tell them I couldn't attend in the Spring because I couldn't be a full-time student. Was told by admissions that I could actually go part-time under the program I'll be in but I'll have to pay out of pocket. Meeting my academic advisor next Tuesday.

And in sharing- I didn't get a chance to check in this a.m.... The CPAP machine is a miracle from heaven. I am ready to get one of my own. Got a few hours of the best sleep I've had in years, only interrupted by the tech twice..Only thing is, the mask I used last night I'm not fond of. I will have to try on a few different ones when I get mine...
And now I am enjoying a fall afternoon. Cool, breezy- and I am doing NOTHING productive like I should be. Discovered that Lou's scheduled day off is today, and since I'm using a sick day today, we are home alone. No Chey, she's at school.....if we had more cash a raid of the local flea markets would be in order.
I went to some of your local flea markets on my own time, including the one you said was the biggest one around. It wasn't very big. You should come up here and see a real flea market. They have everything from ax handles to chickens to pickled asparagus to pickled okra to razor blades to car parts to...

Frustrated!! I am going crazy with this headache, no sleep, and nothing productive to do. Everything I find productive to do no one will let me do and the few things they will I just want to tear apart and start from scratch to take out some frustration. I need to go back to work like NOW!!!
I just gotta say, I love Sonic and their free drinks.
I really would like to try sleeping with a CPAP machine. I bet it would make a big difference in my sleep.
What free drinks? Sonic gives out free drinks?
Last time I went to a Sonic, they were having a special on corn dogs, 50 cents a piece. I got six on lunch break. Brought them back to work and started eating them, and regretted the purchase. Even for 50 cents they weren't worth it. Bleh!
I love Sonic corndogs! I want in on these free drinks too..lol I miss their blackberry mango tea
We have blackberry mango tea here. And when you order drinks and food, they give you a code to do an online surveyand when you take the receipt back with the code you get a free rt 44. But they RARELY ever take my receipt away, so I use it every day and collect more. LOL
And I LOVE LOVE their corndogs. they are the best in town.
I'm with the consensus - I love their corn dogs. Yum!!!

Really, really need some prayers for my sister. She's facing some serious persecution (so to speak) at her job.
Basically she's about to get fired, because she told her boss(s) that she wasn't doing anyone else's work anymore. She does more than one persons job, and got tired of it. She went to her boss. That boss told her to go to HR. So she did. And now she's the one about to get fired. They called her in today to fire her, but decided not to because her work history is good. She's on a 90-notice. Any wrong step, and they'll fire her w/out notice. Which basically means they're gonna fire her anyway, because they don't like her.
SO ridiculous.
I love dealing with multiple doctors... NOT
One came in and basically told me Diet Dr Pepper was worse than the nuclear bomb and just might end all man kind. Another said cut out ALL caffeine. Now, the second doctor in a row has just told me to try drinking MORE caffeine.
I am thankful for this new doctor though God lead me to her I have no doubt. She has helped not only by cutting her rates drastically but, she calls every single day to see how I am doing and to adjust my meds. I have never had a doctor do that.
My neighbor gave us two packages of freshly killed and butchered Bambi....my lovely wife is currently frying it, and I am eating it as fast as it comes outta the skillet....This stuff is delish!! :fork:
So which side won? The pro- or anti-caffeine side? Personally I don't have a dog in the fight, because I don't drink sodas... but don't you dare say anything against my dark chocolate! :noo:

For now pro-caffiene.
Mentioned to my boss about going back to ETSU today and was essentially told it may be a good idea because he's probably gonna cut my hours so his stepdaughter [who hates me] can have more hours. Cutting my hours anymore than they already are bumps me to part-time and cuts my health insurance. I'm just gonna have to stay as healthy as I can until we get married in June. And frankly I'm ready to get back into school. I do not want to do this job the rest of my life.
Wow. Lots going on with our GP friends this week. I will be praying.
Passing the Mantle Conference starts this Friday and there is something heavy ready to be released in it. You can feel it almost in the air it feels so powerful. I'm praise singing all but 1 service and could not be more pumped. This is a service for ministers/ministry both in the organic sense and/or in the governmental sense. I'm encouraging my uncle to come up from Tulsa for the Saturday service (10am teaching, 6pm service).
Our church is embarking on a whole 'nother, I don't even know the word for it. We are intensely setting out to not just "win souls" but disciple people, especially the ones that call this church their home but are still on the out skirts. It's a level that I believe my grandparent's generation barely scratched the surface of but is coming into fruition. I'm excited!
Heather: Yeah, nepotism makes the world go 'round. Too bad you're not evil - you could have fun tweaking people. :D Of course we're not evil, and we would never do all those things we could do... but that doesn't stop the brain from turning up possibilities.
Shut up Isaac, she doesn't need the temptation...

If you have the time, could I ask a prayer request?
Andrew has a big day tomorrow. He's going to speak to his music teachers about not participating in the new song they just introduced.
It's a song prayer to the Hindu/Buddhist? god-Vishnu asking for protection and beauty for eternity.
He's drawing a line, publicly. Regardless of the consequence. He is respectful and kind, somehow picked up tactfulness somewhere... Lol. So it's the boldness and articulation he wants.
I'll pray for him. :) I'm proud of him for his decision. :)
:beret:
Boss "demanded" I call him today, then never answered or called back. Just sent an email to him explaining my health situation. Please pray for favor and compassion. Trusting God!
I HATE feeling useless!!!
Praying for you, Bro. Jason and Andrew!
Lady JennJenn, that was him!
Lady Melodya, aside from the prayer situation, if y'all feel the situation is well beyond the line, and want some media exposure, I might be able to come up with a contact number in KC.
I was away from the site for nearly a week: how is Seth's father?
Thanks guys.
And thank you, John. I can't imagine it'll come to that. Andrew is willing to recieve a lower grade if that's what it takes. It's not in English but it put his HG on edge yesterday so he came home and looked up its meaning. He decided really before he even had the info that he was going to opt out of participation if it involved any sort of praise worship idolitry. Makes a mama's heart full.
I'm praying against this song. The last thing we need in our schools is children chanting or singing songs to false gods. Music invites one kind of presence or another, they don't need to fight anymore demons.
A few wks ago, Andrew and his youth group went and prayed around the school. Tuesday night they had a special speaker and a prayer mtg for boldness to stand for truth. And then this comes up.
I'm so very thankful for a youth group to support him.
Praying for the situations.
I'm still hyped after last night. We baptized a teenager in the pond behind the church building before service - even with the temp outside being 45 degrees.

In this society it would be good to go look up anything the school system presents that's not in English to make sure we're not unknowingly participating in something ungodly. Proud of his courage to say "I won't participate in this".
Happy United Nations Day!
Andrew's music teacher said he completely respected his decision but he'd like him to give it more consideration because it's in the name of cultural diversity, not religion. :/
Proud of Andrew.
If any of you can spare a prayer, I could use it tonight. Incredibly heavy sadness tonight.. Without too many details, it is heartwrenching to get a call from a backslider asking for help, then hearing them tell you they are going to hell and you can't do anything about it.
I just spent several minutes with a young man that was raised Pentecostal, had been Holy Ghost filled, and walked away from God.
In the ensuing years, he's been, by his account, in prison for many crimes, some quite violent. He was quite intoxicated, and I don't know that I have ever felt such a darkness... I tried to reach him. But this feeling of darkness and a lost cause pervades tonight.. The hug he gave me before walking away broke my heart. It was like I was the last link to God he would ever know. Very heavy heart...
Roscoe, you can break that in Jesus name. Bear one another's burdens. Don't let it discourage you! A restored backslider is a force to be reckoned with and could be the catalyst for revival in that city!
Hosting a family of 9 for the conference. 3 of which have celiac disease. I'm so excited. Remnds me of when people would come in from all over for council when I was a kid. The adults would stay up talking at the table laughing.
Praying, Bobby, and proud of Andrew!
Finally heard from boss... Email felt kind of weird just kept saying "don't worry" and "get better" (Um been trying!). Not sure if he is just sick of doing my job or what.
Doctor at 3 today not much change to report. Good news is if her 8 week prediction is right I am over half way there!
P.S. Help us pray she had us apply to somethings which may help with all these accumulating bills. God is able!
It's already been a crazy day and work. *whew

Andrew should tell him in that case pick a song with cultural significance instead of religious significance.
My pastors wife found out I love Hazelnut creamer and coffee, so now I have enough to last me 2 months. lol
I love my Pastor and his Wife!!
I hate feeling trapped in my own house.
Gonna make some easy Mac and throw some meatballs in it just cause.
Tonight is date night with Allan, fair is in town, we may go there. :)
Got up and took Chey to school....didn't make it to school before the backslider from last night called, sober this time. Wanting advice about how to get outta the situation he'd gotten into last night. :smirk: I gave him advice, didn't say I told you so, and went to Bro Wilson's after dropping AngelFluff off at school.
He had me help him take down a t.v. antenna that was on his new house when he bought it, then blessed me by giving me the mast, which is a 40' collapsable pole worth a couple hundred bucks. I am pleased.
Then, the backslider called me again- I wound up getting the chance to talk to him a bit and take him to apply for a job..I really pray things get through to him...
Now I am at home with a ton of things to do, but no motivation to do them. Bah.

Exactly! They've had diversity training as teachers, they actually know better. Hard to not think they are being purposely reviling but the deceived really are ignorant, willfully or not so...
Feels like I'm cooking for an army. Precooked 5lbs of bacon, a mess of pancakes, and am gonna start the blueberry cobbler and GF bread in a min. Then half of Cajun Chicken Pasta for tonight. Then chili for chili dogs, tomorrow's lunch.

"Goofy friends" bread....she's making bread for you and several others here.. :P
I've given bread to many goofy friends. Every year when we do the church Christmas play, afterward they hand out presents to the kids, and I hand out sourdough bread to a list of friends who have made it known that they like sourdough. So far I'm up to about 20 loaves or so that I need to bring. Most of the 20 families have more than their share of goofiness.
Update: Saw Dr. today and the report wasn't great. I still have the infection that triggered this craziness in my head. She refereed to it as "active in my head" and said it did show up in the spinal tap they did slightly masked by over a week of antibiotics. Infection and stress combined triggered migraine which caused stroke like weakness on right side She added more meds to "knock me out" because stress and lack of sleep are my 2 biggest enemies right now. She said she would be happy if I slept the next 10 days straight as long as I woke up long enough to take my meds. I will be back to normal but it's a waiting game. Hearing at least 10 more days off work didn't help the stress issue. God knows and is in control. Prayers still appreciated!
Morning, all. :hi: Just got up a few ago...not gonna do much today, it's cool outside.
And I just saw on facebook where our own dear Newsman tried making the news himself this morning. Per his facebook status, he was involved in a one vehicle accident this morning near one a.m., totalling his truck and was trapped in the wreckage until being cut out. Claims he's okay with just scrapes and bruises, but might be good to call/text and check on the dude.....At any rate, I'm praying for him.
Oh, wow. Thanks for passing that on. I've been garage saling & haven't been on FB.
I've been out hauling wood since 7am and haven't been on FB. There used to be two trees out behind the church that were dead, but after a few guys from the church got together this morning they ain't there no more. Lot of sawdust and wood chips there though, and there's a lot of wood stacked in Sis. Dorothy's garage now.
And for the record, our pastor is a stronger man than I. He had a 25 pound splitting maul and was making short work of those tree slices. I tried twice (two separate occasions, multiple attempts each time) and couldn't get it to do anything better than bounce off.

Lol
Howdee! Thanks for the concern and prayers!
I want to talk to the officers and get a look at what is left of my truck first-hand before using the 'miracle' word, but I fully realize it is solely by the Grace of God I'm ble to be worried about the insurance and finding another truck.
Yes, the ruling was I fell asleep, almost home from an out of town work trip. I recall seeing the truck going just off/partially off the side of the highway. I tried to straighten it out,. but it overcorrected, left the roadway, went thru some ground while turning a 180, slamming into an embankment and turning over onto the driver's side, pinning me at a 90 degree angle.
I was calm and alert throughout it, praying and hearing from God. I turned my still-running engine off, and activated the emergency flashers. I was there with just God for a time, pinned, but some folks saw the flashers and called emergency folks. Since I know/am known by a bunch of local emergency responders, I'm not sure how many there were, but I talked to a fair number .
I think they wound up pulling and cutting numerous parts of the truck away to get me out. I have yet to see it, as they had put a neck collar on me and loaded me on the back brace They mentioned needing to make my truck a convertible so I'm assuming it is totaled. They put a blanket over my head so that none of the glass from peeling/cutting the windshield would get in my eyes.
The ER visit was a little aggravating but uneventful. A woman there turned critical while I was there and they were having to lifeflight her. I hope I remembered to pray for her then. I may have.
I have a few scrapes on one knee, my ribs and the right side of my face. I'm not even as sore as they said I would be.
I would appreciate your prayer that my insurance/bank issues go well, and I'm in another vehicle soon.
I'm thankful to God!
Dude, if you try to argue with an embankment you WILL lose! It was there first, it knows it was there first and it just ain't gonna move out of your way. :nono:
Seriously, glad you're alright. Sorry to hear about it though - it ain't no fun when the insurance company sees a reason to raise the price.
Speaking of which, if you need a different insurance company you should try Progressive. Not so much for the price, as because they ante up if something does happen. Sister Jackson, a good friend of our family, was here for lunch just a while ago and I backed into her car. I reported it to Progressive and they said they'd take care of it. Later Sister Jackson kept going on and on about how well they took care of it - they got her mechanic's name, set up the repair, met her at the mechanic with a rental car and everything.
Oh yeah... and their prices are reasonable too. :)
Thanks! I was close to going ahead and doing my Sun day dutues, but went home and rested. I had to come back into the pharmacy. That is done. I'm about to go back and rest more.
It's nice & cool today... 65-68. I have windows open.

You too, Lady Babs! Try to check in occasionally with us!
Southwest Tennessee is right on the way... just saying.
Morning, all. Roscoe today is brought to you courtesy of a half gallon of cappuccino. "The breakfast of champions- we'll wire you awake." Lands, I SO would rather be working around the house today. But no, I have to come in here and pretend to be gainfully employed. Bah.
Im trying not to get sick. Allan however has full blown flu like symptoms, AND a kidney infection. As much as we are together all the time, I have avoided getting anything worse than a stuffy nose thus far.
Other than that, life is good. This week is our church anniversary weeklong celebration! We have had the same pastor for 25 years. Thursday we have my cousin Jason preaching, and then Friday night is our BIG shindig with a guest preacher and a catered dinner afterward for Ministers and Pastors family. Then Sunday we have my other cousin Randy preaching, and a potluck after church.
I cant wait to see everyone! So many people expected to be here...so much family its gonna be like a reunion!
*Isaac perks up.
Did somebody say potluck?
Im making two cakes, and some sausage and dirty rice stuff...and baking some broccoli casserole for Sister Ramsey.
Sounds yummy, Mel :fork:

You guys are sluffing off and not posting near enough....I'm at the point of making up things out of whole cloth and throwing bits of truth in...for instance, did you know Newsman's wreck was actually caused because he was looking at an attractive Asian lady on the side of the road? :o

And Isaac's "sweets" or "desserts" are actually of the female human kind.... :thumbsup2:
And Jenn's "bible study" isn't on Proverbs at all, but the Song of Solomon and how it could be adapted by her male friends and read to her over a warm fire, under starlit skies..... :freaky2:
And Babs is actually running off to New York with a wealthy businessman... :nono:

School is looking like it's a go. Met my advisor today. She is super awesome.
With school on the horizon [and also after I had to head of a bridesmaids rebellion], Brandon and I are still having our wedding sometime next summer. However, due to insurance [and my ailing kidney(s)] we are going to go ahead and get legally married in the next few weeks. After Dr Allen dropped the bomb on me that I would no longer be full-time in January we decided to go ahead and get me covered under his insurance. Also with AutoZone you can only make changes to your insurance at the beginning of the year. Plus we already live together, what will really change? Other than the pain in the hindquarters of legally changing my name.....
The issues I had were domain renewal issues... Fixed now.
Rough day. Feeling down. Wish I knew when this all will end.
Nerves are shot and sleep wont seem to come tonight even with the meds.
Here. It is morning. Hearing we may be in for a spot of bad weather today. We shall see. :hi:

Someone should start posting.
I'm here. Do not have a whole lot to say at the moment.
Looking for ways to be productive...
It was a dark and stormy day and suddenly a _____ rang out...
My aunt that pretty much raised me is in the hospital. My sister was talking to her and left her to run in the restroom and while she was in there she heard something fall. When she got out she found my aunt on the floor. She wasn't breathing at all and turned gray. Carla did CPR until the ambulance got there. They are trying to figure out what happened. Sounds like her heart just stopped beating. They are doing a cardiac cath today. If Carla had not been there with her, we would have lost her. My nephew was pretty upset... I think he's about 8 or 10.
Praying, Ratz Nest.....
And I don't have much to say now either...

The Shunammite Woman... What a story of faithfulness and trust!
"It shall be well"
blah blah blah
So it's Halloween and I still can't figure what to go as. I'm not doing what I did last year though. I dressed up as Waldo, the guy from those Where's Waldo? books. Nobody would talk to me all night. It was like I was invisible or something.
Morning, all. Like my brother Isaac, I too, am celebrating the pagan ritual of Halloween. I'm dressed as a cop. :P Now, where did I leave those donuts?
Supposed to keep raining all day here but it's ok cause at least it's going to get to 50*!
I gotta get the world missions insert done for the bulletin, and make some kind of sweets for my Sweets. :)
Missions Sunday is coming up in a few weeks. Bro. Nowaki from France will be here. The morning service wil be on world missions and then we have a church dinner. Then the afternoon service is about local missions. It's going to be good!
I'm off to have coffee or tea, haven't decided yet. Have a Great day everyone! Try not to scare the children, Roscoe. A gnome cop sounds like one of those clown scary movies.
Just don't stand still in anyone's yard. :P
It rained like crazy all night. Our electricity went out a couple hrs during the night. Thankfully came back on before I had to get ready for work.
I had a cup of Earl Grey. Actually it was probably more like two cups.
And I don't partake in All Hallows Eve.
I don't desire to dress up as someone I'm not.
I'm happy being who I am. There are enough masks in the world as it is.
"Tea, Earl Grey, hot." Captain Picard was the one who started me on Earl Grey tea.
And no, I'm not really participating in Halloween. You can relax Jennnn.
Who is Captain Picard?
I'm already done with this day.
Soooo sleepy.
If I buy chocolate, I'M eating it.... Lol
There's a lady in this area on the news for not giving candy to overweight children. But a note of Why, instead! LOL It's not nice but the more ridiculous this day gets, the less people will be interested in it. Look what drama does to Valentines day, Black Friday does to Thanksgiving, and commercialism does to Christmas. Let Halloween be the most lusterless of all.
EXCEPT! That it's John's birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY NEWSMAN!

Haaha. You are such a good sport. :)
Makes me want to load up the family and come visit. If we ever really do, I want to bring a bunch of "interesting" foods for you. Like different kinds of sugars, flours, etc.. For you to have fun with.
Sorry to post so much but while in thinking on it... I'm not doing Chrismas cards for everyone locally this year but I'll still do a CCX with GP if others are. I gotta start now though or I'll not be able to.
Which reminds me... Because of all the music DVDs I've been sending out, I have a lot of people's addresses now. Maybe it's time to do something I haven't done in a while - sourdough cinnamon rolls.
Still have my addy dont ya? :freaky2:
Hello.
Ive been sick the past few days. Just feverish and coughing, and the nights include going from hot to cold to hot to cold and back again all night. Soaking the bed with sweat and then freezing to death. Its lovely. I toss the covers off and then have to find them 10 minutes later. UGH.
I cannot be sick anymore!! We have a big weekend and I have to be well for it! So much to do starting in just a couple of hours.

Ohhhhh gotcha - guess I never knew his name from Star Trek lol
I used to see that show every once in a while when I was a kid at my Grandma's.

Actually, you don't even need a Justice of the Peace in TN... when we picked our license up they told us the county clerk can sign it right then at no extra cost and boom you are legally married. No I do's or nothing. TN sure has some weird laws when it comes to getting hitched.
I will keep that in mind if I ever find The One For Me.
In local news, the church ladies bazaar is tomorrow and I found out last Sunday that though nobody mentioned sourdough bread this year, they are anticipating it. Quote: "Oh we just expect it." :P Unfortunately sourdough bread takes at least eight hours (3 hours to rise times 2 risings, plus kneading, baking, etc) so they aren't gonna get that this year. Fortunately, mostly because I mentioned it on the forum earlier this week, I thought about sourdough cinnamon rolls which I DO have time to make... mostly because they only take one rising.

I've stayed away from the computer today so I could get something done. After dropping Chey off for school, I went and got a few things, then started for the nearby community of Centerville to look at a '66 Chevy pickup a guy is wanting to trade me for my Corvette. Before I could get there, he texted me that he was going to go to town and wouldn't be around for a while, so I wound up going to Lowe's and pricing concrete dye/ polyurethane for the bedroom we are fixing to remodel. The stain, when properly applied and covered in polyurethane, looks kinda like marble floors...and it is cheap. And lasts for ever with minimal maintnance.
Then I priced paint and countertops, as well as new gutters. If we aren't gonna take a vacation and put the money into the house, I'm gonna do everything I wanted to do to it..
Then I came home, mowed the yard, took a chainsaw to some stray limbs- not mine fortunantly- and cooked dinner. Now I'm waiting on my double batch of cinnamon rolls to rise for baking. :fork:

It's a short bed, with the six cylinder, three speed on the column. absolutly perfect old man truck. It needs bedwood and a paint job, a small hole in the floor board repaired, and a battery. I could have in on the road in a matter of hours, and as straight as it appears, in a decent driver quality paint job in a weekend. Baby blue of course. It's even a true Custom Cab with the big back glass....

I've actually been to a Marie Callendars in California!
I've never even met Miss Marie, but I hear she makes a great calendar.
Our local wacko is back. Yesterday morning they found concrete planters we have sitting around the property stacked up blocking the front door of the church. He had to do it in the middle of the night at some point after 11pm. I would love to catch him and scare the lily liver out of him!!
Maxwell House Coffee and Almond Joy Creamer! This is surely of God!

You'd think that would be the case...but it's most def not. Sad really.
A lot of preachers won't if you A: Don't faithfully attend their church, B: don't pay tithes, C: are in conflict in ANY way of something he preaches.
My best friends sis just got engaged. Her fiance? Attends church faithfully (almost more than some of our leaders), but he has facial hair, wears a necklace. But more than likely, they won't get to get married in our church. Nor will our Pastor marry them.
It's a sticky situation - one I'm not sure I much agree with. But I guess that's why I'm not a Pastor (PTL),
Don't get me started. I could go on for days. But...this was my :twocents:
It's been a crazy few weeks for us. First my step dad fell and broke his hip and had hip replacement, then my aunt's heart just stopped beating and she dropped in the floor, thankfully my sister was there to do cpr, then today we got a call the my husband's step mom is in ICU with congestive heart failure. Plus my mom's health and back is bad and she's having a hard time taking care of her husband. Prayers appreciated. Thanks.
There are so many variables. I sure wish we had premarital classes before... anything. If it's a church wedding by a man of God, which is his blessing whether the engaged view it that way or not, the pastor needs to feel Better about it than just it ceasing to be fornication. Lust doesn't magically go away simply bc people get married.
What's worse than marrying people who just want the look of Christianity? That's what unsubmissive (to that particular pastors views) people look like, whether it's accurate or not. Watching it end in divorce. I'm not envious of pastors, what a burden.
Andrew's youth group is starting an awesome video series about dating vs. courting by Barbara Willoughby. It's on YouTube as well. I WISH I'd had half that teaching as a teen. She's kind of quirky but it's the substance of what she says and ALL respect for her and her husband's ministry that lends credence.
Link to part 1, and links to the rest are on the sidebar.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y77b9mUxpVA&list=PL774F085B02053D47
Never heard of this kinda program, but from what I hear of it, I like it. I feel that too often we throw our teens out into the "dating game" and expect them to just do what's right, without truely preparing them for the challenges they will face, and the opportunities they will have to do the wrong thing...
Pls pray: important meeting tomorrow at 8 am.
Head hurting with rage again. Feel like beating it with a hammer just to pass out.

It is raining. And rain and darkness jacks with my eyesight. Bah. And to make matters worse, during my clean-a-thon this weekend, I ripped some ugly vines off of my house and shop. That's the only stuff I'm allergic to, Roscoe! Poison ivy, oak and sumac. You'd think I could identify all 3 but apparently they still occasionally illude me.

Morning, all. I used to not be allergic to poison ivy when I was young. I didn't even know what it looked like but a friend told me I was picking it when we were looking for plants for a science project...
But ever since I got some in a scratch, it'll get me now.
Meeting went well! Thank GOD! Will be able to see the doctors and specialist I need at no charge. Have to say though this program is an example of our government being to big and ruining a good thing. It was started by doctors donating their time to treat people who are working but can't afford or like me aren't offered insurance. Christian doctor saw the need and started it. Now, the government has stepped in and added hoops, red tape, and an Obamacare lecture to the process. Today, I learned it makes insurance "affordable through everyone getting a subsidy"... now I ain't great at math but even I can figure out "everyone getting a subsidy" will bankrupt America real fast.
Yep. The rich will still afford it as always and the ones on Welfare will still get it free. It's just ripping everyone that's paying their own bills off more. To the point that some won't be able to pay their bills and end up on welfare too. Totally ridiculous.
But don't anyone stop obsessively eating the junk that debilitates their immune system or anything. Smh
Even if we could afford insurance, we then most certainly could not afford the co pay and prescriptions bc it went to insurance payments. The subsidy doesn't make it more affordable whatsoever.
My friend that works at ORileys Auto Parts just lost her insurance because of this fiasco.
Well last night our guy who has been leaving and moving stuff all around the church property came to prayer meeting. He said nothing except he huffed and puffed like a spoiled child who doesn't get their way and left after 5 minutes. Then I hear screaming outside. He was standing in front of the door yelling at someone walking down the road who looked scared and was trucking it to get away. When I opened the door he shut-up and left.
Then today I am at the church hear a knock on a door. (Mind you it's a Tuesday morning at a church with an empty parking lot.) I go out to find 2 guys loading stuff into a truck, including the portable basketball goal our youth sometimes use. I confronted them and asked what they were doing. They responded with "taking this stuff cause we knocked and no one said no". I made them put back everything I knew they got here then leave. I think they purposely broke the basketball goal though. Just glad I was here!
our new furnace was struck by lightening apparently. It fried a connector and although parts are covered under warrantly we still have a hefty bill.
Anyway....apple crisp is in the oven. The house is clean and everyone is at school/work so I get a few more hours of peace and quiet. A rarity in this house lately.
That stinks Sarba!
Taco, that is so WEIRD. Why were they not arrested for attempted theft?! Where do you all live again?
A few yrs back there were a couple of thefts of copper from he AC units. They had the church men take shifts at the church until we got a video camera.

Salem Virginia... It was less hassle the way I felt just to make them put it back and leave.
There were various reasons from a few different pastors why they wouldn't marry us. Granted none of them could give me a good reason why they would accept my tithe and offereing checks for years in some cases but wouldn't marry us. It was a mess. A UPC pastor, a charismatic pastor, and non-denominational preacher. All were a stinkin no. Who's gonna marry us? A baptist pastor. Essentially the UPC pastor would only marry us if I were to move out [apparently into my car as I have no where else to go] until the ceremony, we BOTH showed up to all services [impossible for Brandon due to work and school], and/or I were pregnant. Oh and the fact that I was divorced. I however should have known better than to ask him as he's the same man who stood beside and supported my ex-husband through the divorce. The other 2 came down to saying they didn't have the time and we didn't have the money.
Work is terrible. Today as I was day dreaming of ways to kill my coemployees I realized that #1 I need to stop watching so much Criminal Minds and #2 I have to find a different job.

Took some Benadryl. I'd forgot how it affects me. I'm as goofy/ drunk as I can be....weird, I'm sure. I don't like this stuff...
Uh oh. No telling what Chey will talk him into now.

So my husband is a good man. A lot can be said for a truly GOOD man. It's nearly 10:30 and we are finally home, kids in bed and Nathan is about to be done for the night. After working late for days and days, and still making it to church, my car wouldn't start after church, actually after choir practice. So in the dark, the pouring rain, the cold, without a jacket, my exhausted husband works on the battery. Had to take it out, charge it and put it back in. I think if it were possible, he became a little handsomer tonight. I'm down right spoilt.

Morning, all. Made it through the first night with the cpap machine. It'll take some getting used too, but all in all- not bad. Dozed off around !0 ish, woke up at 3:30 ish feeling recharged. Made myself go back to sleep until 4:45.. Now I'm at work, on my friday, thank the Lord.
And if you think of it- the young man I spoke of the other day that came to my church, Chad, could use your prayers. After the initial meeting of Chad at church, then the call a few days later where he was intoxicated and wanted to talk, I honestly thought we would never see him again. He's stayed in contact with me, though, and I've been able to speak frankly to him.
He and his family are going through some very tough times, and just when things were looking up for him- he'd gotten a job- it all came crashing down. Their lights were cut off, and he was diagnosed with double pneumonia and put in the hospital. I've gone by numerous times, as has the pastor and another minister..
He looked at me Tuesday and told me "I never would've thought I'd have a friend that was a cop, but you have proved yourself to me." When I left, he hugged me in a bear hug, and thanked me over and over. He told my pastor that we, as in our church, were his family, and that he wanted his life changed.
There's already changes happening in his family, changes that are dramatic. His girlfriend/wife, who told him after their first visit that she wanted nothing to do with Pentecost, came with him for potluck Sunday, brought a dish, and was dressed as any holiness woman would be...
I may get disappointed, but guys, I feel good about this one. God's giving us that revival!
How exciting! It's no accident that you all are in his life right before all this. God is reaching for this man. What a Divine season.
Heather, do you have to get those often or just when in contact with an infected animal?
In other news, I've been having a bit of fun with Nathan. Yesterday I put a carrot stick in his sandwich. He is not crazy about fresh veggies. It gave him a good chuckle that I "snuck" it in there in an attempt to keep him healthy. Well, I made rolls yesterday and I always have 2 rolls worth of dough more than I can fit in my pan of 15 so I make Nathan a hamburger bun or two. I made a good size one yesterday and this morning took a tsp worth of bread out of the inside top bun and put a fresh Brussel sprout in there. He may or may not eat it, just because. Lol. It'll make him laugh though! And doesn't ruin the rest of his sandwich.
What's wrong with Brussels sprouts? They're good.
Your hamburger buns sounds like what I do with leftover sourdough that is too little to make another bread loaf.
In local news, does everybody know what time it is? That's right... It's eggnog season! It's the little things that make me happy. I'm always excited when the stores start carrying it again.
Yuck! Brussels sprouts are like little cabbages. :P
But cabbage doesn't have that unique brussels sprout flavor. :D
Made it through my Friday...I was pleasantly surprised that the antenna I bought on ebay that was suppposed to get here next Tuesday came in today. Now I get to put it up tomorrow  Life is grand, my friends.

If he is at least a "general" class holder, all he has to do is let me know the time and frequency....Probably have the best luck on 40 meters. Do you happen to know his callsign? Mine is KF5TIE...
And morning, all. All I can say today is God Bless the inventor of the CPAP machine. I've slept better in the last two days than I have in the past ten years.....
Hello.
I'm sleepy. My bed feels so lovely right now, but I must get up and get ready for my day.
Morning, all. I'm at work.
Coffee's on. Chris is job hunting via computer. Baby is down for a nap. And me.... well, I'm rambling around GP and FB while I have a few minutes to myself. ;)
:beret:
Well. I've had a decent,if somewhat boring, day. Went and got a haircut, had breakfast with a few old friends- old as in aged- and listened to some of their war stories, (literally, as two of the five fought in the Vietnam war, one had an uncle who was a Medal of Honor WWII winner, and one was a former "spook"- intelligence- and the other two were cops of over twenty years). It was enlightining to say the least, and I felt honored to be included in their conversation.
Then I had lunch with another group of friends, ham radio friends this time, and had my lunch bought for me. Came home and fought my new antenna to a draw. It evidently was afraid of heights, but after a bee sting, numerous trips up and down a ladder, and a few whacks with a hammer, It is around thirty five feet up, and I talked to Buenas Aires the first time I keyed the mic. So. I'm calling it a good day, even though the stupid bee/yellow jacket/ infernal demon left a mark that is still throbbing an hour later. Stupid beast. And I didn't even react fast enough to kill it.
And that's sharing/whining ala Roscoe. :P
Hello I've been running on caffeine (dark chocolate) all day today because I didn't get enough sleep last night because I was up too late cooking eleven pans of cinnamon rolls for my aunt diane's bazaar this morning but I made it through the day and now I'm probably about to crash but it doesn't matter because I got everything I wanted to accomplish accomplished today. :hyper:
I started this day with a lot more money than I am ending it with, but I got a few bills paid early. As in, I didn't HAVE to pay them this paycheck, but I had the money so why not? Light bill, Roth IRA installment, gophone's next month on my phone, ministerial dues, plus a few cans of salmon I found at the salvage grocery for cheap.
I also picked up a CD at Wal-Mart. That is against my religion, paying full price for a CD, but it was a Duck Dynasty christmas album. I've never seen the show but my uncle Fred loves it so I'm guessing he'll like the CD.

I won't take Benadryl anymore because it makes me feel like my body is shutting down.
When I was a kid I was on bubble gum medicine and benadryl alllll the stinking time for sore throats and ear aches and all that stuff....
I don't recall anything ill about it then....
But Benadryl makes me tired, but I could take one today, go to sleep tonight and wake up feeling like poop, I don't sleep it off when I sleep it makes me feel bleh later..... But it's worse than tired, it makes me feel like I'm just slowly dying. Like my body systems are shutting down and my heart's going to just stop beating or something.
I dunno.
Anyhow.

Heather, do you have to get those often or just when in contact with an infected animal?
They are not required but highly recommended in my line of work. Especially since we've had a rabies problem in the area recently. I've had 2 shots and they will do some bloodwork in a couple weeks to see how much of the vaccine is in my system. They will do that test every year and as long as I have the correct amount of vaccine then I'm good. If it dips I have to get a booster. But most people do not boosters.
Today is engagement picture day and dinner with friends. Also we this week we booked the church and date for our ceremony this summer. If anyone is interested it will be May 31 in Johnson City, TN.
Better to Not get it!
I'm slightly amused that the leaves have changed, are falling quickly, it's supposed to get down to. 19* on Wednesday... And the grass is still green as ever. Lol.
HeatherB: Have your rehearsal dinner at Fatz. Best roast beef sandwich I've ever had was there, it tasted like it came from a real roast they had cooking in a crock pot. For all I know that might be how they cooked it.
Supposed to get below freezing for the first time this winter next week.
4 hours in the car [2 each way] and 2 hours at the funeral. My back is killing me.

Throw me another one! :fork:
*tosses more grapes at PF!*
Hey, that one had seeds! *splutters*
Oops! They said seedless! I demand a refund!!!!
If they're muscadines or scupperdines, give me the seeds! :D We had a scupperdine bush right next door in Grandma's yard when I was a kid. It grew up from the center, out and down to form a thick arbor screen all the way around that we kids could hide in and eat scupperdines to our little hearts content. I've often thought I should plant a muscadine or scupperdine bush somewhere around here.
I want a muscadine plant.
post!

:hi:
:D
Yawn
My contribution to the "Post!" drive:
I paid some bills early this month because I had the money to do so. One bill I sent a check in the mail, and I sent a letter along with it. The letter read as follows:
Since at Christmas cash flows so fast
And soon there's none at hand
I'm paying this bill NOW
While I have cash and while I can!
Should at least get a smile at the TN district headquarters.

Since you have extra want to pay my district dues? lol
Perhaps this thread will not close until it has filled it's stated purpose.
:freaky2:
I had a bit extra THEN. I don't now because I paid all my bills ahead of time, and I won't have extra in the foreseeable future because Christmas is a-coming. ;)
Well Seth and some girl named Angela are planning to elope. It's all over facebook. lol
I hope Angela isn't a bird.....

Want us to put you a FB page up? We will call it JennJenn Challenge. Apostolic guys can fight for your attention. Or you could just take Seth from Angela.
I don't understand that post.

Yes. lol
No mudslinging in this campaign. We are not senators here. :nono:
Isaac has obviously not been around for very many POTY campaigns.....
Then I'm definitely staying out of the running this year. We have more than enough mud as it is with all the rain we've gotten lately.
I've got 4wd. I ain't skeered.

I fixed it just for you.
I have the excuse of pain and sleep deprivation. I haven't understood some peoples post well...ever. What's their excuse? lol
Anyone helping to push this thread past 20 pages is obviously MUCH too immature to be POTY. *sniffs smugly*

I think I heard that Seth's Angela is quite a turkey... or perhaps it was that he was clearly hen-pecked.
:hypocrite:
I heard she was a little dove. :2love:

Because none of the former POTY would EVER do anything like that.....
Right :hypocrite:
Besides we candidates can't control what the government (mods) do. If they chose not to lock it, we are just trying to win the peoples vote by believing in what the believe in (aka sharing thread).
HI HEATHER!!
and yes, Mel and I had lunch together... at a sandwich shop because she refused to eat at edds... which is basically the best place ever! But no, that poor child would rather have chinese... It's so sad...
Edds is NASTY. It's a local thing...I have only known the local people who grew up here to like it. All us transplanted people don't like it much...although they do have some amazing milkshakes!
You like cake shrimp... that is the furthest thing from normal... and you claim a chili dog stand is nasty?!
We have some places around here like that. We even have a Ed's. But ours is pizza. I love the owners! But frankly the pizza is too greasy for my liking.
This place has chilli cheeseburgers and dogs and fries and shakes and malts. The shakes are the only thing Ive ever gotten worth a repeat trip. Its too greasy, and the flavor just isnt there.
That's how Ed's Pizza is here. I can't taste the pizza from all the grease!
Ah, the enshrined local hangout. Loved by locals because it has been there forever and they are so used to it that they really, honestly don't see why visitors don't like it.
We have a few. One that is moderately popular though just because it was the last place Hank Williams stopped before he died. I've never actually eaten at that one. It's called Burger Bar.
LOL. I would purposely NOT eat at the last place someone ate before they died if I knew about it. People are hilarious.
He actually didn't eat there. His driver did. He stayed in the backseat of the car passed out from the drugs and alcohol.
:hi: hello all!
