I don't remember who said it - if I was to say anything it would probably been to wonder who the architect was 'cause they had to have thought it out in the planning how inviting the empty space behind the pillars would be to those wanting to get out of the elements - also there were some pillars that didn't have anything they were holding up on top so they were serving no function that I could tell except the auxiliary function of being a place to lay a weary head
and hang a shower curtain... REG

Okay, okay, people. Have some pity on the gal who just read the last 3 or 4 pages straight though. I nearly exploded!... several times!
Memo to self: DO NOT read that much of the scruff thread all at one time, unless prepared to deal with side effects. Side effects may include: bouncing up and down, so many grins that my face could hurt, sudden explosions of laughter which could result in my sides hurting. (See there? Literal 'side effects'.) *grin*

Maybe you should just buy him a blue shirt!
A blue shirt won't help him get hotter unless it's blue flannel, and that won't get him hot enough to win the contest. Nope. He needs a heater. That's my final answer.

When? Lately?
you know, the other day i was people watching in the cafeteria.. and i was worrying about how off my face is with one side of my smile being so much bigger than the other half (not something i do all the time, not sure why i did that day, but was glad of what i learned). As more people walked by, i noticed first one person, and then another... and then i noticed that the longer i looked, the more people i saw that had little quirks, a droopy eye here, a slight lift on the left here, a dimple on the right here- but not on the left....
I started looking at everybody there, and what did i notice? Not a single person i looked at had a symmetrical face... one side (what i noticed most was the eyes... and i saw a lot more than i had ever realized) was always a little if not a lot of difference in between their 2 eyes. It literally suprised me. I knew there was a difference in the right and left side of most peoples face, but i didnt realize how well everyone really blends in with everyone else.
yeah, so about that scruff :freaky2:
I've noticed that before, too, Chel. :-) It's pretty rare that someone has a totally symmetrically balanced face.

It's a widely known fact that the 'Noles can't grow scruff. Now, the Gators, mind you, can and do sport some lovely scruff... It's not GP scruff, but perfection isn't easily replicated...
Whos team are you on? I am a die hard 'Nole myself.
And I dont think I knew you lived in Florida...what part?
No worries, Sis. There's still hope. You don't have to stick with those icky ol' 'Noles forever, you know, as there's power in prayer!
I'm about fifty-five miles or so east of Tallahassee. Good ol' Madison County... How many Florida people do we have here?
Wow...Im in Bay county, about 100 miles west of Tallahassee, in Panama City.
As for Fl PPL, we had quite a few, but they hopped states. And a few frequent another board, but they pop up here sometimes. Right now we have Me, Just_in, Jonathan, and Giggles.
Giggles will be moving to NC soon. Sister Mom was born and raised here, but she moved to NC a couple of months ago, Justin is in South Florida right now on an internship, he goes to IBC during the school year, but he was also raised here in Panama City. Jonathan lives here too, and him and I are not leaving Florida anytime soon.
DQPcola is here sometimes, she lives in Pensacola, and ACJMom is also there too. And...I think thats it. We did have a bunch of kids from our church that used to post, but they all have forsaken us.
And all of us that are named above, met IRL before we ever found GP. I found GP first, and I brought the rest of em' LOL
And BTW....I have been a Seminole my entire life, and dont plan on changing anytime soon. Nasty swampy Gators.

Wanted to knock a few peoples screws loose tonight. Like that army dude who yelled at me tonight. blah! My manager told me to tell him that this wasn't the military, it was walmart and not to yell at me. lol
*disclaimer* I am not making fun of the military. I am very appreciative of them, but this man had no right to yell at me.
:offtopic: This thread really got pinkwinked, didn't it. :biglaugh:
lol That's okay. This is one of the FEW threads on GP that ALWAYS comes back around to the original topic.
yup... even if some of them are just in time to start the next one... lol
They preached against scruff at camp tonight. lol
*cough*

Honestly, it was just a lot of hype and fluff for the most part.
Not terribly surprising.
I'll have to call Valerie and say that I'm upset that she supports a camp that preaches against one of my fave things on a guy!
Nai
I bet the preacher never had an ingrown hair. lol
Do you wear skirts up to your thigh, Aaron? Cause that's what he said would happen...if you allowed the 3-day growth thing, next thing you'd have was skirts up to the thigh.
I can't see that happening. Most of the people who allow the three day growth thing want LONGER skirts :D
Awww, come on Chris. Show it off. :hypocrite:

HUH? He been lookin' at the bearded lady at the circus? I think men do it to look more manly or just cuz they're tired of shaving and want a break!
Both, sis. I'm allergic to androgyny, I like to look like a guy.
I'm about to challenge one of those dudes to a beard debate.
If you allowed the 3 day growth thing, the next thing you'll have...is a beard.
Unless...he means that guys wearing beards encouraged shorter skirts, in which case I'd like to see the math. :hypocrite:

The math..the MATH! lol
1+1=2
1x1=1
1-1=0
1divided by 1=1
uh huh. The math. 2 legs - skirt =
Still I say :nono:
:P
Well, the point was that if you allow or let one thing go, something else will follow right along behind.

That is tempting to misquote, but I guess I better not...
Serth, seriously here,
Was the preacher basically saying that, if you allowed guys to wear scruff, the next thing that would happen is that women would want to wear skirts slit to their hip?
What camp meeting was it? Independent, some district or organization's camp meeting? And, just making certain, it was an Apostolic one?
John :waving:
I think he was saying allow guys to not shave and the ladies will follow suit. BOL!
oh!
John :waving:
or in a suit one...
He was saying that if you allow one thing, then something else will soon follow....scruff and short skirts just happened to be the first two examples....lol
It is a small localized org camp meeting, but the preacher preaching used to be (I've heard that church pulled out of the UPC...being of a more conservative ilk in some ways....I guess it's true, I don't know if they dropped out or not) UPC.

Oh dear...what in the world did yall do today!?!
at an Iowa Camp one year a preacher lectured the campers that they're sideburns be no longer than a certain length, of which I don't remember what his measurement was. He was very fired up about it.
It was junior camp mind you. 8-12 year olds.
And his other quote I'll never forget,
"If your mama didn't make your coulottes, they aint good enough"
(holds in BOL)
I wore coulottes...UGH. I cannot believe I did that. So gross!
p'shaw

Why fight it? I may just do the mountain man thing for a while. lol
Bad time of the year for that. It's only almost 100 degrees.
Maybe Aaron could find someone that would cool him off........
