Sourdough, (aka weirdCat) it amazes me how good food can be.

I am going to go make some apple cinnamon streussel muffins with some bits of extra apple pie filling I had leftover.

We have a new friend. He's from Dallas, TX. His name if Ray, midtwenties & an amazing musician! Thought perhaps Jenn might know him? He just moved here. He also said the midwest is way more laid back than the part of Tx he's from. I would have never guessed that.

I can believe it.  Around the Dallas/Ft. Worth area it can get hectic and people can get uptight.

JennJenn's in heat, pass it on.... :chatter:

:P

Went to town did a couple egg drops, and a bunch of stupid errands picking church supplies up, mainly.....I feel like I accomplished nothing.

And no stinking place in this town has stinking ceiling fan lightbulbs like I wanted. Sheesh.

Well, no one really knows what's going on with me..so I'll let you know..I have been sick for a couple months. I thought it was stress, then I had a really bad case of salmonella, but that's gone and I'm still really pretty sick. So my dr is sending me to a specialist for an upper and lower GI...*sigh*

OH and all the milkers broke at work this morning..so we were three hours behind! >:(

God knows Lacey. Praying for u.

Jenn... Thompson. He's connected to us on FB.  I don't actually know how to pronounce your last name or where/what church u go to.  He thought u sounded familiar but I didn't have much to offer in description.  God's got something big for him for sure.

Some from our church went out & did a prayer walk. Last time they did that, the church grew 15%! We divided in 4 groups & went in all directions. It was awsome! KC has 1 buddist temple. We prayed against it! Can't wait to see what happens!

Went to work, came home.  Smooth night on my end, but the generator was going out on the furnace all night, driving the people on the other end nuts.  Easy night for me but I felt sorry for them.  Not a thing anyone could do about it though.

Ah... life is good. Couldn't get on here last night, I was a bit busy. While browsing Craigslist yesterday, I ran across an ad for a Corvette. Being bored with nothing to do, I clicked on it. It gave a description which said-"might trade for a Miata".  :o
A few texts later, a few pics later, myself and the 'vette owner  met and traded. I now have no PAPM, just a little red Corvette.  :teeth:
Oh and the 'vette owner told me the overdrive didn't work. He was wrong. Apparently he was turning the o/d off instead of on. It functions flawlessly.
Gonna be a great day today. Oh, and of course the red 'vette came to work with me today.
Have a GREAT day, y'all.

Just for Isaac- the only pic I have of the Little Red Corvette. And Chel, I'm sorry- the 'vette is MUCH cooler than the Miata. One of the guys at work said I could have my "man card" back now. He sid I had forfeited it by driving the Miata. :laughhard:

He traded you that for  a Miata?!  You didn't have to pay anything in addition, everything on the Corvette still works, nothing is about to fall off?

Does he have a brain tumor or something that causes him to make irrational trades?

Whatever, I think you came out ahead on the deal.

Actually, Fuzzy, you'd be surprised. The last 'vette I had got 28 to 30 mpg consistantly. This one's got a sensor that will have to be replaced and it's already getting 23mpg. It'll probably get 25+ mpgs- not quite as good as the Miata's 28 to 30mpg, but infinately more manly.... :laughhard:
And in keeping with my tradition of keeping an eye on my profit should I try to sell it, I' should be able to turn it for a bigger profit. :thumbsup2:

Well I'm up.  For the last two weeks, during the last hour or so of sleep I have been having some really vivid, bizarre dreams.  Nothing that means anything, just weird.

In the meantime... I have no reason to complain of boredom.  I stopped by a thrift store last week sometime and wiped them out of christian cds and cassettes.  Most of them I didn't recognize the singers/groups but I figured at that price if I found one good one out of ten I'd be coming out ahead.  So now I have 9 really good christian CDs to copy to computer and label all the songs, 8 really good cassettes to play and record to computer, edit, etc, and one really good music DVD to rip the music out and save it as separate songs.  Then there are the records I'm running off to CD for my piano teacher, and I want to get started on a soundtrack for "Blessings" by Laura Story (already have the chords worked out and it sounds beautiful) as well as a soundtrack for "I'm not cool" (but you knew that already :P ) and "Jesus got a hold of my life."

If anyone happens to be bored today, come on over and help out.  :D It's a lot more fun than cleaning house.

Been in bed sick all day. Needed to be doing school work, but it will have to wait.

Roscoe, isn't that the same model corvette the Barbie dream car was based on?

Your new application for a man card will be accepted, however knowing that you actually owned a Miata requires us to place you on MANdatory probation for 5 years. lol

:laughhard:

P.S. A 63 Stingray may have got you your man card back without probation. lol  :laughhard:

Shoot, Taco, with a '63 StingRay, I wouldn't need a mancard. When you got that kinda muscle, ain't nobody brave enough to ask to see it....

And Mel, you would be pleased to know I thought of you yesterday. We had an employee benefits fair and one of the booths had a three foot tall stuffed duck for a mascot. I took a pic to send you, then remembered 1) You're without a phone currently, and 2)I don't have your number anyway. I did the second best thing- I sent it to your Sethie-Poo today and figured it'd get to you somehow.... :laughhard:

And my day is starting off less than great. I was thirty miles from home when I discovered that I had left my electronic leash at home. :o AT&T will doubtless be concerned, as I will go from 50 or more texts today to zero. On the other hand, Mini will probably appreciate the break.
On the bright side, it is my friday. This, I count as a GREAT thing. :thumbsup2: Have a terrific day, everyone- even you Seth. :laughhard:

ROFLOL

A little backstory about that...me and chelleebelle were going round and round...I figured since she was the 80's music expert in the family (she grew up outside of church, her sister was a 80's music fan), she had heard Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal."  She was convinced she had never heard it.

Roscoe texted me right in the middle of this and got pulled into the discussion.  LOL

Did you know Roscoe knows how to moonwalk?

My stinking exotic quail have almost all killed themselves....the Valleys, Blue Scale, Gambel.....  Ugh...  They're so wild they jump up and hit the roof and break their necks....  A couple random ones had done that over the course of time....yesterday there were like 3 of them...this morning 4 more!!!!  OH MY WORD.....  Insanity.....  I only have 5 left...a Valley male and 3 females, and a Gambel male...  I moved them to a little short cage in hopes that with less room they won't break their necks....

Cripes.

For those of you curious. I'm just going to copy and paste what I sent in an email...

I went to see a specialist today to figure out why I've been sick still or again or whatever. He looked at the tests that have been done the last two times I was in the ER and came in to talk to me pressed on a couple places on my abdomen and said that there was a mass on at one of the bends in my colon that is most likely the cause of the pain. They scheduled an endoscope and a colonoscopy on Oct. 12th and they will do a biopsy of the mass as well that day. I'm unable to work until they figure out for sure what's wrong because of the lifting restrictions do to the possibility of the mass weakening the wall of my colon. I'm on some really powerful pain meds and something to help settle my stomach. I'd like prayer that my job is understanding and if they aren't that I find something I'm able to do with the restrictions. Also for a complete healing!

Praying for you ISG. We know a God that is able to heal.... we have a lady in our church that was diagnoised with breast cancer and underwent surgey that was supposed to have chemo following. They did the surgery, sent her to the chemo doctor, which she really didn't want to do....Doctor came in looking confused and said he saw now reason for chemo, it didn't look like she'd ever had anything wrong with her. He kept telling her he didn't understand how this happened, but we know. :thumbsup2:

And y'all showed real restraint- I only had 17 missed texts.... :laughhard: I've managed to get Rusty repaired and grab some items from my mother in laws' yard sale...Tomorrow, I gotta take Chey to school, then I've got the day to search for tires and do honey dos....  :waving:

Well, Lord.....

Went to church, came home....

My neck and other parts are getting sore again from climbing and crawling around under pews dusting and such....

We saw a UFO on the way home from church.....seriously...an Unidentified Falling Object....  Couldn't tell if it was something close or if it was farther away, but it was a blue light of some sort that fell downward....  Don't know what in the blue blazes, no pun intended, that it was.... :freaky:

Another piece of news....regarding my favorite land lawyer....

So I called back this evening and talked to the secretary......  To ask if the reason it was taking so long was that he was doing it for free as a favor, and if so, could we pay to hasten things up!?  lol  She didn't think that was the reason....  He's just too busy to do his job.... :-?  I expressed my concern that I want to get it done before my aging poor health uncle dies.  And I said, look, I know a notary I think I can get to notarize it, can I just get the papers and take care of it myself?  So she said she'd find out and remind him and all that...

Well, a little later he calls back and was pretty eager to let me do it myself if I wanted to....  So, I'm going to just pick up the paperwork from him (which has been done and prepared for weeks now and he just can't get time to have it signed) and take care of it myself....  He closed his office in town and is operating out of his home, so I'm gonna go by there and pick it up tomorrow....  I will get ahold of my cousin and get it to her to get them to sign it... And my other cousin, which happens to be related to these same cousins.....lol (if you may recall, the uncle next door was married to my dad's sister...so his daughter is my cousin, that's the one that handles his business and such....and she is married to my mom's cousin....well, the notary of which I speak, is the the niece of my mom's cousin just mentioned...it's his sister's daughter [his sister obviously being my mom's cousin as well]....they go to our church)....is the notary, and I'm gonna see about getting her to bring her stamp so she can notarize the crud then I can have it recorded and be DONE with it...with this part anyways....  (Then I am going to have to contact the US Department of Agriculture and hash out the issue with the error/discrepancy between their overlap on us, but that's a separate issue, and I'll do it myself rather than fool with the stinking land lawyer guy, because Jesus will come before he gets it done I think....)

Anyways....I want to get this stupid crud DONEEEEEEEE....loooooooordddddddd have mercyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

Went to work, came home.

The rework/inspect/pack area is right next to my end of the furnace and sometimes there are two or three guys there.  It's a good thing there was nobody there tonight because I was listening to the albums I got from these CDs I got from the thrift store, to see if they all copied to computer cleanly.  If the guys at work object to old gospel they'd certainly object to Mozart and Vivaldi.   :smirk2:

Classical wasn't all I got from ye olde thrifte shoppe, but classical is what most people find objectionable these days for some reason.  A truck driver came through though to pick up a shipment and stopped to listen to Mozart for a while.

In other news, I finally got Jamstix!

JenN - then you are obviously not part of the aforementioned country *only* group.  Or classic rock only, or hard rock only, or gangsta rap only, or...

I never have understood why so many people narrow their focus to one or two styles and ignore so much good music because it falls outside their style.

Roscoe's been busy as a bee. It seems like when the great mechanic- me- "fixed" Rusty by replacing the leaking o rings on the fuel injector, he missed one. I found out the hard way that when three o rings are specified, two won't do.  I finally got him fixed though, and have been moving furniture.
Lou has replaced my surplus school/teacher's desk with a much more attractive and smaller desk, so I had to move the old one out- quite the chore. It is now a worktable in my shop, which I've been needing. :thumbsup2:
Welp, gotta go! :waving:

Well, if you're ready, go ahead.  :smirk2:

Eating a RBB.

I've got the stupid quit claim deed now....  I coulda typed the dumb thing up a few months ago myself.   My notary cousin didn't work today, I had sent her an email last night be hadn't heard from her this morning, and when I went to town her mom was in Sam's Club and I asked her if she was at work today or not, and she was off today....  Trying calling her while ago but didn't get anybody.  I want to verify when and how she wants to proceed before I call the other cousin to get it signed so I know what/when will work.

Oh, and Melodya, I forgot to answer your question from earlier about disposing of the dead....  Sometimes I'll bury something, if it's just a little chick of some sort, then just a quick scoop with the shovel is sufficient....yadda yadda...  Most things though I just haul off and throw out in the woods.

And dud/unhatched/dead eggs, I haul off and toss too....often just throwing them from the sunroof or window as I zoom down the road somewhere.  lol

Despite the thread title (the title *I* chose) tomorrow I will be making sourdough bread.  We've been working a few Saturdays in a row and I'm running very low on bread.

Gotta go to dollar tree and get a few gifts for my kiddos! Yay! Can't wait to see them!

Been at the church....  Hung a couple new missions plaques, rehung a bulletin board, then hung another new bulletin board....did a random thing or two other, and dusted the right row of pews....

I jigged just a bit when my music played today.  :P

And I listened to a couple other different CDs too, some black gospel...  Now I'm on a black kick...need the Lord to send us some black folks that can saaaaang.  And these CD's are not really all that souped up as far as black gospel goes, even....

Anyhoozers....

Mercy. I survived the night alone- now I remember why I hated being single. (I *think* I shared last night that Lou and Punkin were staying the night at the mother in law's house for a yardsale). The yard sale, incidently, was good to Lou- she sold over $100 worth of clothing, shoes, ect that were too small for Chey now. We also made out like bandits from Mom n laws sale in that we scarfed up some items we liked, but would never have spent the money for elsewhere. Things like a wall clock, the desk my computer is sitting on, two Home Interiro style pictures, ect.
I managed to use my day alone organizing the shop and taking the side emblems off of Rusty, preparing him for paint.  That is, after I took him for a ride to get breakfast. I tormented Mini via text by sending him updates of what I was doing (driving Rusty when I know he can't drive Sam) and pics from a small local car show. All in all,I consider it a fruitful weekend, with beautiful weather. Unfortunatly, it's back to the grind tomorrow. :waving:

Well I've had a busy day...

I got up, went to the store for flour, mixed up the sourdough and set it to rise the first time, ran off a few records to computer, labeled some albums I had previously ripped from CD, played with the cat and dog, (washed my hands,) kneaded the dough the second time and put it in pans, vacuumed the whole church, typed the bulletin, came home and right now the bread is baking.

I feel like a juggler trying to keep multiple balls in the air.  But I got a lot done today and I'm happy with things so far.  :)

If anyone is hungry come on over.  Got 5 loaves fresh from the oven, 5 more baking and 4 (and two sourdough hamburger buns) waiting their turn.

Today has been a mixed bag. I got to see my cousin who came in from Baltimore but in that I was tormented by my family. I can't kill them but I'll have no problem sticking everyone of them in a nursing home!! (Especially my Mamaw who essentially said she understood why I was only eating a little bit as I'm getting fat. Sorry I'm not anorexic anymore there Mamaw. Sorry to dissapoint.)

But.....drumroll please......my car is fixed!!!!! Also the dealer allowede to make a partial payment til I can pay in full on my next payday! But (as there is always a but) my battery is dead :( upside is I'm hauling it to work at the AZ tomorrow and charging it while I'm on the hub run.

Also as they've cut me to 7 hrs a week, I'm giving my 2 week notice. I'd rather be at church anyway....

Well I'm up and off to work for possibly the last time as APG. They are notorious for just dropping people off the schedule if you give your 2 week notice. And as I apparently only work 1 day a week and I asked off for that day next week. This could the end. Lol

Gonna try to go to church this evening and make it through the whole service. I went last week and make it through music before I talked myself into leaving. And from what I hear it was a great service. At least I'm trying I guess is all I can say.....

Finally, after 85 years of blood and guts, or what seems like it anyways, I have in my hot little hand...(well, actually it's just laying out in my front car seat), the signed stinking blasted Quit Claim Deed!

Post by: Lynx on October 02, 2011, 07:24:01 PM
Glad to hear it.  But now you have the quit claim, will everyone quit griping?  Or do you have a few more years of your father complaining about how wrong it is?
Title: Re: Eat thy bread without leaven... in SHARING 447
Post by: Chseeads on October 02, 2011, 07:40:38 PM
Oh, he's still not happy (he doesn't even know the status of the quit claim thing, I've just taken it upon myself to get the process completed), but the main thing is, now this description and this parcel is up to date and legally ours without room for dispute from anybody else.....

I still need to address the government overlap issue now...but that's not as big of a deal....no "personalities" are involved....

Now when my cousin has the uncle's deed description redrawn to new legal specs and stuff, supposedly that will require a quit claim signed back to them from us....  God only knows how that lead balloon will fly with my dad....I know that'd send him into a gripe fit I imagine......oh well....  I'm exceedingly pleased to have this part under control now though.

Tomorrow I'll plan to take it to the Recorder's office and have it all recorded and crud.  Yay........

Did I ever mention being a nerd comes in handy?  Well it does.

This morning, before Sunday School even started, the sound system went berserk.  More than half the channel input lights lit up and it started emitting a buzzing, sputtering sound.  It took us about two minutes of testing stuff (while poor Bro. Robert tried to do announcements) to figure out it wasn't the amp, EQ, any certain mic channel... the whole board is shot.

Being a nerd, I ran to my office and grabbed my spare mini-mixer, patched in the wireless mic, piano, piano vocal and wireless lapel mic and that was enough to get by.  One output to main speakers, one output to computer for recording.  No stage monitors.  No stage mics.  No anything else.  Bleh.  But it'll do in a pinch.

Maybe I'll patch in the CD player and sing with one of my soundtracks tonight.  Or maybe Sis. Shelia will be asked to sing a solo.  No groups though, unless they want to all hover around the piano mic or bellow without a mic.

Being a nerd is great though.  I'm the only person I know who has a spare mixer under the desk in his office.

It's been a really blessed wknd.

I got some chickens on sale for 69¢\lb. So I decided to roast them  stuffedwith lemon wedges, onions, garlic, fresh rosemary.  Since it was the Jewish new yr this week &i was looking for something a bit different to eat, I made matzo ball soup, which is a twist on chicken dumpling soup. (leeks, shallots, parsnips, chicken broth, fresh dill, if anyone was curious) with rolls & zuccini.

The lady that I teach a Bible study to was having a trying day Thursday, got down on her knees @ home, praying. She got the HG right there! Ptl

Then this 1guy came to church today from a google search.  Our friend who often comes over on Sunday afternoons connected w/ him so we said bring him along with the 6 other people that come over.  He's been un KC for 2 mo. for college.  Last week was Ray who has been here also for a few mo.

People need a church family.   I'm so thankful God gives us life more abundantly.

Then we went  to the park w/ a whole different group of ppl. Beautiful weather.  Gets dark at 7:20 now though. :(

I love people!  Sorry Sethers.

So last night..I didn't get much sleep..then when I finally could sleep..I couldn't. Then promptly at 755 this Am my mom calls to ask if I'm awake..now if she was smart she would have saw my facebook status at 130 in the Am and would have let her daughter sleep...

But I have blessed news! As you all know I've been praying for something in the job range that I can do after surgery...I talked to my assistant pastor last night about working for the company he is involved with...it's sales..but I'm very good at phone sales and getting to see him every day would be such a blessing! I was beside myself after I talked to him at church. And we had a guest pastor from Sierra Leone, he had an amazing accent and an AWESOME message...so I don't know why I couldn't sleep...but today is a new day..and it's going to be a great day...

Later today I'm going to my Mom's to pick apples and tomatoes...then tomorrow I am bagging them to freeze...So that's my week in a nutshell :)

This morning has started with a bang.  My supervisor is in China for his Chinese wedding.  He takes care of all of the IT issues.  Anyway, a few months ago my email along with the president of the company and the main sales guy got deleted.  We never got an explanation on how that happened.  Well, three months later, it stopped working.  Seems the guy that set them up forgot to uncheck the change password every three months option.  Now today it's happened again.  Not what I wanted to deal with on a Monday morning.  I decided to walk over to the other company that handles our email and just strangle him myself.  Y'all come bail me out if you don't hear anything soon.

Went to the auditor's and recorder's offices and got this stuff recorded.  Yay.....fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy..............

While I was there, I stopped in the county attorney's office to see about the piece of land the county says the church owns but we don't.....didn't find out anything else about it, but just checking up....

Checked up with the surveyor on the government overlap situation and he got back ahold of the govt. guy and the govt. guy is supposed to check back into the issue from where it went to the higher up level and the surveyor know something....

Annnd he's taking me to Pier 1 & Hobby Lobby & Goodwill up there to take a looksie! I'm excited. :) his grandpa danced a little jig when he found out I was coming. I've missed his family too! I was seeing everyone every couple of weeks..now it's been two months since I saw them all last!
Is that Larry Carter,  the guy that plays guitar? His playing is AWESOME! And if so, I wish it were in Arkansas, so I could go.

Hi Heather.  :hi:

Hope your back feels better.

So my dad who lives in WA state is a major loner. He goes hunting, boating, ect.. Often. He would prefer going into the woods & dying rather than grow old a in a nursing home. He has had a hard orphaned life & I have only had a few chances to talk with him about Jesus.

Well, though I know God can & will reach out to the farthest people, I have prayed some creative prayers. That God would send someone to minister to him, even     angels.  He called me today  to say he was off to jail in a few weeks for 80 days. Eighty days! Over a car accident. But 80 days! Eighty days where he is around people. Eighty days for a converted convict our a chaplain or person visiting another inmate to witness to him! Here we go. That prison doesn't know what's about to hit it.

If you think of it or would like to, please help me pray for my Dad's salvation.   Could be the best opportunity yet... In my finite mind anyway.

This is my appearance...

So Chel and Mel-Mel have encouraged me to get back on. I know I have not been on and to some of you I am dead now  :cry2:
I need to try to keep my friends close, but lately I have had to try and keep my enemies closer lest I should surely be Stabbed to death by a blunt object. :surrender:... Mel I wanted to tell you this the other night but I could not bring myself to ruin our awesome time together so sadly you will have to
find out with the rest of the group ( also I've had to hold this in for going on a month so lets keep this spill in GP shall we? ).. Forgive me in advance for the surge of anger that may come forth. If your screen melts please contact Roscoe via text message for a new one.

Not so long ago my mom and I were talking about the life I use to lead, I was showing her how to hack into someones email or facebook, don't worry I was using hers as the example and I would NOT do such to anyone again. Come to find out this new bit of info must have really got to her because I discovered she was using the methods I had showed her to get into her own Fathers accounts... Turns out she catches my grandpa (who we will now call Buddy from here on out) Buddy cheating on my grandma (Joyce).. Apparently mom wanted to make sure she was correct with the new information and watched his messages for some time. She was absolutely right and she found out more about him than she ever imagined. It began to eat at her (it is to late to undo what I taught her but I have totally yelled at her plenty for going down the paths I use to be on). But anyways, I thought we had settled the matter and not to worry with it any more.. MAN was I ever wrong about that..

Roscoe please don't arrest me! God delivered me and it was so dumb to even show mom my past....

I am in a deep grievance state, possibly close to depression while home. church and work are my only escape right now and work is not going so hot lately which makes me feel worse and It seems like I miss all the youth stuff now so I feel seperated from church... IM DRIFTING! I know this is what it is and I know what I must do but that makes it no easier!

What a lousy GP come back pity party this is..

SO my mom catches Buddy Cheating on Joyce and decides recently like around my!!!birthday!!! that she would take action finally.. She finds out that he is to meet this woman at a local park.  My cousin is there unknowingly doing a photo shoot for some of her friends and gets to see this whole scene take place from an outside view.. as she takes pictures of her friends she captures everything on her camera over their shoulders!! I find this one part hilarious.. Only GOD could of found a way to provide this proof HEHE.. so what she sees is this

Buddy shows up and sits on a park bence, then the lady who deserves him comes up and sits with him, they do things illegal for children to see(this is my opinion).
My aunt (my mom called her and told her to ride by the park) anyway my aunt shows up, sees them and starts yelling to them how worthless they are and that she will tell Joyce. Now lets keep in mind that my aunt has bad knees so she could not walk down the hill seperating them.. so buddy yells that she will burn and she tells him he's already in that place.. and then tells the woman some more stuff.... Aunt calls Joyce and tells her all.. Aunt goes to joyce house and tries to talk since to her.. Joyce takes Buddy back same exact night..

So... this is only night one!! I am getting upset.. I think I will take a break and come back tomorrow... Because if you guys don't want to hear the rest of whats going on I understand and don't want to burden anyone.. It felt good to at least get this much out... I'm going to go cry now..

If you guys are okay with me proceeding with this story I will say that I am drug into it later and thats why all this is hitting so close to home and there is a point for all the background I just gave..

Praying for everyone! Even if you didn't ask! I'm praying!

Today wasn't as bad as some have been...so I thought since I was feeling a bit better that I could go pick apples at my mommy's house. She has three or five apple trees in her yard that produce decent size apples that are good for cooking and baking. So I picked 5 or 6 plastic bags full with the help of Lil Roomie. He had fun filling his little bucket then dumping it in the big ones. Such a good kid sometimes. So then we picked a peck of peppers that I'm going to pickle. Also an ice cream bucket of tomatoes that I am going to stew to freeze. So that all being said..I came home and was in worse pain than I have been in a while..and I realize I hadn't had any pain meds ALL DAY! So I took one..and ate an egg sandwich. Now, I CAN'T SLEEP! It's been like this for a few nights now...this not sleeping thing...Oh well I can nap between cooking apples..:) All is well...or as well as it can be...

PRAYING!

Well at least the preceding posts put my day in perspective...

I drove to a town 45 minutes away for piano lesson.  When I got there my minivan decided it wanted to break its right front strut.  Fortunately I was able to drive it to a local mechanic my piano teacher recommended.  When they jacked the front end up the right front wheel was wobbling.  The mechanic said "wow" more often than I felt comfortable with... >.>

So Grandma picked me up and took me home, and I rode my bike to work and back.  I'm just glad the strut didn't give out BETWEEN towns.

My word.  :smirk2:

What a pitiful mess we all are.

Well, last night I dreamed that Michelle Obama tore up our organ at church.  :eek!:  :getangry:   :-?

She was supposed to be singing a song at whatever this doings was that was going on, and I was going to play for her, and when I get to the organ, she has moved the pedal board and tore it to pieces....has pedals pulled out and all kinds of crud.  So I sit there trying to put it back together as she's supposed to be singing her stupid song.

Stupid democrats.

You get to know new preachers because you hear them preach or meet them at some other service you go to.

The main exception to the general rule in the prior post is missionaries.

Some people are complete weirdos and couldn't preach their way out of a wet paper sack, so it's not always wise to have new preachers sight unseen.

Wowser! Where to start? First of all- John, hope your blood pressure's back down. ISG, praying for you. And as far as the officer's suicide- that's terrible. Sadly, I understand what could have driven him to that. But for the grace of God, there goes I. HeatherB/ BG/APG/- praying for you as well.

Lady Kimber- Wow. I won't arrest you, I promise. I totally understand the drama you are going through. While different situations to be sure, I've had to deal with family drama recently. It ain't no picnic, that's for sure. Whatever you do, get in tight with someone from your church and stay hooked up with them and pray! I've saw alot of people that went through drama and wound up letting their walk with God slip away. There's nothing worth that, girl. All of Gp is praying for you too, I'm sure.

And as far as my day- I had range today and was one of two range masters. I've come to the conclusion some people who have badges really shouldn't carry a gun. :o Out of 19 officers though, I only had one have issues. Not a bad record I guess. I shot great- but was so busy I didn't get a chance to eat a bite. Now it's nearly six p.m. and all I've had all day is one stinkin' Dr. Pepper. I'm fixin' to tear down the fridge..... :waving:

Everyone else- even you Miniskirt-  Love ya! Thanks for being my friends....

Well, I slept and eat and slept and eat.. Then I decided to text Mel for a bit. My day has been better so I feel up to sharing day two of issues that I was not able to share last night.

As you know we left off on catching Buddy in the park and then Joyce took him back. Please go to my previous post to be filled in on who and what.

The next morning after my aunt caught buddy, My mother decided to go check on Joyce.

(for those of you who wonder English was my best subject  :read: but I use mulitipe periods to seperate random thoughts).

Joyce only sat on the sofa not saying anything at all and then buddy comes out of his room and tells my mother off screaming and threatening her. What makes me mad is that he pulls this stunt while she is alone with my BROTHER!!
So to keep buddy from my brother, mom gets up and walks out side but buddy follows them, she tells buddy to go back inside that she does not want to hear it. He tells mom not to come back on his land..

Now up until now my grandmother has kept quite but she finally speaks and all she says is " It's MY land ".. well that shut him up for a second. Until mom let buddy know that she was aware he was going to meet the lady again and they had pictures.

So we have
Day 1: Old man caught being unfaithful on film.
Day 2: Old man tells off his daughter.

Ready for day three??

*Edited some spelling*

Day three of Insane family on the hill. (yes they really live on a hill)

So mom finds out that Buddy is at  :cow:'s house.
Mom tells two of my aunts and they decide to go investigate. (I am at work and they kept this a secret from me or I'd of been there)
They show up and take pictures of buddy's truck in  :cow:'s yard.
Mom gets out stands at her hood and calls buddy's cell and tells him she knows where he is.

Buddy slips out of the house and sneaks up the other side of the car where no one can see him.
He yanks open the door with my aunt who is in the front seat (the same aunt with bad knees who yelled at him at the park)
After yanking the door open he grabs her hair and drags her out of the truck punching her knocking her to her knees.
He pulls out hand fulls of her hair and shes trying to fight back.
He attempts to take the camera but aunt2 jumps out of the truck and grabs it from him
When she gets the camera he attacks her and throws her to the ground after slamming her against the car.
My mom flys out of no where slugging his head off!! He runs back around to his truck and makes a get away.

NOW let me say that AGAIN my brother was in the truck while all this takes place!! Mom got the tongue lashing of a lifetime when I found out.. Luckily he was asleep and locked in the truck..

Yes I understand they did not know he would attack. I am also aware that they never went on  :cow:;s property only took photos from the road.
But this is starting to go too far in my opinion..

anywho, the ladies call the police and press charges because they all have bruises, scrapes, and broken nails.

Imagine the shock from the husbands and rest of the family after this info! The crazy old turd attacked them!!

Actually, John, that's quite a bit to my north, and there's probably more direct ways to get there than I-40, so probably not. If you are coming on a weekend -fridays and saturdays are my days off- I would probably be able to drive  and meet you somewhere. Unlike Texas, I can get anywhere in my state in two hours or less.... :thumbsup2:

KIMBER! I'm glad to finally know the drama mess that you have hinted around to...and I am even MORE glad that you didn't tell me on Sunday. If you had of told me Sunday, you would have been animated, upset, and talking about it all evening, and it wouldn't have been such a good day for YOU. As it was, we had an amazing day, and I heard you laugh more than I have heard in a long time. :D  We MUST do days like Sunday at least once a month to keep us BOTH sane! ;) I personally can't WAIT till Fampout! I have nearly convinced Jolene to come over and bring Juliette to the Fampout...but don't tell anyone yet, I want it to be a surprise!

S. E. T. H. You and your dreams. SMH. Crazy.

Ruby! *HUG* MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I'm babysitting Parker today! I haven't been over here in awhile. I can't wait till he wakes up! I miss my boy!

Plus, the neighbors have Wifi! I can be online today. :D

Hey Kimber...I love you! *HUG* Hope to see you at class tonight!

Everyone else...hey! I miss being here 24-7.

Today is also the day I get my van back.  And while we're up in that town we plan to stop by a really big yard sale put on by the local university.  Not that I'll have a lot of money to spend there after paying to get a van fixed...

Oh Melody!! I am so glad you're on!! I saved the worst most crazy bit of story just for you.

So after crazy old man beats up on ladies, the husbands think about it all night and all day!
Mel while we were at lunch on Sunday do you know what happen? My Uncle went to buddy's house.
You now which uncle and aunt.. the ones at our church.. YEP.. Uncle Billy tackled Him to the ground and
they beat each other up pretty good. Not sure how they both come out of it alive BUT Buddy will never throw
Aunt Linda EVER again. Buddy actually ended up stealing some drugs later that evening and packing clothes and
leaving to stay with  :cow:.. So we have not seen him for a few days. But we have been at Joyce house every day
making sure she has food and anything she needs. We let her know if she leaves him her life would be better.
Hope he got slugged so hard he forgets where joyce lives..

So mom asked me my opinion the other morning about everything. Well I told her I did not agree with all the actions that were being taken
and that I regret what I showed her and too many people were getting hurt. She almost punched me until my sister stepped in the way and stopped
her and told me to walk away. She is mad because she thinks im not on her side.. Well im not on anyones really they are acting like a bunch of
Nut heads! So For the last two days I've been locked in my room until I "come to my senses about the situation"  HAHAHA I will not be defeated!!!
Later today I plan to climb out the window and come to prayer meeting! How is it a 23 year old is having to climb out a window. MAN I can not wait to
get a better job and move out..

so far this is all thats happen and Im just waiting to see what next because buddy called claiming he would take the land and everything joyce owns and leave her
with nothing. Then yesterday he claims he wants to come home to her so he can take care of her.. We think its his plan to rob her..

Blah! I'm finally calmed down about most of it, which is good, now I can pray more earnestly for all involved.

Hey Mel, I LOVE YOU TOO!! Thanks for being awesome!
Everyone else who has read this and left comments to me, You Guys ROCK and I'm so glad that I have friends who pray and leave encouraging words!
This is the best Idea and my hat is off to Scott for letting us all come together on here!

ok my gooey emotional rant is over..

Yeah it happens pretty often actually.. Its a good thing I like being in here!.. I also dont have a door on my room, they hung a curtain there so I can't keep them out. Not sure how they expect me to sneak someone in. My room is far enough off the ground I need a ladder.. last time I jumped I twisted my ankle LOL.. good times! But I figured out how to get down with no injury now.

No I've been looking. Talked to Pastor about it too. Sis Cole said not to be impatient and not to rush God. So they told me to look for a job first. Im trying to be obedient and follow directions, sometimes I wish a rich man would come marry me, then I figure with my luck he'd be ugly.

It isn't all about looks. It's about his walk with God and his respect and love for YOU. Looks and money would be nice, but not necessary.

Welll....since I never proposed to a Lou Ann I don't have to answer. :ugly:

But when I proposed to Lawanda (aka Lou) I was very strategic and romantic. I took her to Petit Jean Mountain one evening and- if you look in the Mini meets rosco thread, you'll see the place in his panoramic shot- I had her sit on a boulder looking over the valley. I was obviously standing next to the boulder, so when I proposed, she had a built in platform. :laughhard:

Sadly, I started off our life together putting her up on a pedestal, and she still thinks she belongs there! :laughhard:

Mellow Yellow:  Gateway rocks!  Or at least their music output is great.  I have albums from their whole span and the sound changes with the times, but the Spirit is in all their albums.  Even "Stand" which is too rocky for a lot of people around me.

Can anyone confirm Kymber moving in?  Will this require Mel's clan to be on guard against Kymber's family?

In other news I got my minivan back today.  Sis. Kim called before we left to inform me of a very large yard sale going on in the same town, so aunt Lucy went with us and after picking up the van we all adjourned to the yard sale.  All I found that I wanted was two really big suitcases for very cheap.

I've been thinking portability lately... everything I do seems to be based around being able to move stuff easily, from sound systems to laptops to music to apparel to everything.

Man! We had church tonight! I was supposed to lead service only and another brother was supposed to teach. Now, I hate leading service. And it didn't help that a friend of mine, who is also a backslidden UPC minister, showed up, making me nervous. Two songs into what was , truthfully, a hohum service, I looked up and saw an unshaven guy standing in the back of the sanctuary.
The brother that was supposed to teach had told me that he really didn't have anything- he'd misunderstood the pastor's directions and was prepared to speak briefly, not preach a full message.
About my third pass across the platform after this bit of info- the brother was going to speak after the song concluded- I felt God dealing with me to speak again. I leaned over and told the brother and he told me to run with what I felt God wanted.
I walked back to the pulpit and began to preach. No notes, no nothing. No nerves. God moved in an awesome way and came through our little church like hurricane!
The unshaven visitor turned out to be a backslider of nearly 30 years. He prayed and cried and worshipped. He might've prayed through, I don't know. I don't know because my friend, the backslidden preacher had came running to the front crying and begging God for restoration, and I was caught up with him. The long and the short of it is- god moved and brought two backslidden children back to Him. I am unbelievably pumped! Now if we can just keep 'em. :thumbsup2:

Glad to hear it Roscoe.  And I copy on the "no nerves" part.

Went to work, came home.  Slow night - not a lot to do on my end of the furnace line and the boss never did get around to getting me a secondary job to work on.  I did ask but he was a bit tied up with other stuff.  I wish, I wish, I wish I was allowed to bring my computer and work on music stuff while I'm twiddling my thumbs.

How awesome 5-0!

I'm winding down. I made a batch of lemon pop.seed muffins for Nathan to take woek tomorrow.

Nathan got a new job & started on Tuesday. It's the same as that job he hash a couple yrs ago changing over water meters to digital ones.  Well this company said that the guys from there have first dibs. Different company. 3 guys from our church got hired on. Another guy that worked with them also got hired on here. Hw called N. beforehand & told him that it was a paycut but he wanted to work w/ our (church) guys again & that he wants to find God more & knows they'll help him.  How awesome is that?!

It's apaycut for N also but it's steady & winters in the construction business is unpredictable & sometimes slow.  N. will maintain his business still. It was a hard decision bc the fall is booming with business.

Roscoe, I have always said the most powerful messages I have ever preached were the ones that God gave me as I stepped to the pulpit. I don't have time to mess it up that way. lol

What an awesome testimony bro, wish I could of been there!!

We found out what triggered my dad's seizures the other day, his blood sugar bottomed out during the night. He is having to monitor that before bed now. Keep praying for him.

I am going into my 5th day on no sleep and extreme pain in my back. If you get a chance say a prayer for me too.

Weirdos.

Went to the church and cleaned.....finished cleaning the sanctuary finally....  I was appalled at what came out of the cold air return duct.... :freaky: :o :dead:  I always clean out the "hole," (it's in the floor at the back of the church...but I guess I'd never stuck the sweeper hose as far back as I did today...holy shnikeys.....unspeakable things.....literally stopped the sweeper up....  And I didn't clean it out good....  I need those people that clean duct work to clean them out apparently.   I'm not even sure that that duct even functions as a cold air return anymore...though...I think it just draws air in from a vent thats on the duct downstairs by the furnace....  I don't know....but it was horrendous.  There was even a Sunday School leaflet from when Moses was in Sunday School....it was like the Dead Sea Scrolls...lol

Anyways.....  After that I totally stopped the sweeper up inside of it after I was using it to sweep the front steps (outdoor carpet)....I knew it wasn't the best idea...there were all kinds of little pieces of straw from the road construction where they put straw down and sowed grass.....but, I sucked it up anyways....lol  Had to wait for the sweeper to reset itself cause the clog light came on and I had to dig the dirt out...

Anyways....came home, did a quick fowl tend and boxed up a bunch of quail a lady was coming to pick up....one got away from me while I was doing it and flew down over the hill....didn't have time to fool with it...probably a lost cause trying to catch it at that point anyways...shoulda nabbed it faster before it took off...oh well....

So then went back to church.  First night of Revival with Doug Smith....  It was good, though I was kinda frazzled, but I'm always frazzled when I try to have something at church....that's just the ol' Booger I guess. :smirk2:

Anyways...home....ate pb and crackers and almonds....  Need to go tend the fowl in a few....

It's a wonder there's not more homicides in the customer service field.

Somebody on ebay from Maine griping that their turkey eggs didn't hatch.  Said my "tom is not doing his job."  Jumping to rash conclusions.....  I sent his eggs on 9/7.  On 9/13 I sent eggs to another lady, in Indiana.  All of hers but one developed.  She's the one that made the videos of them that I posted.

Sometimes shipped eggs just don't do squat do to being shipped.  That's just the risk you run if you buy shipped eggs.

He didn't ask for a refund or anything, just stated his gripe.  And I didn't offer one.  Just told him there was proven fertility a few days after his and that sometimes shipped eggs don't grow.

So I guess he can stick that in his pipe and smoke it.  Some people shouldn't be allowed to purchase things or do business with the public.  :P

In other news... I have apparently caught whatever bug Jason has had this week. Bah humbug!

And in yet other news... Chris is reading The Hobbit out loud to us. The boys had it on their reading list for school this year, and while it's been on my own mental book list, I hadn't read it yet. So. We're all doing it together. :) Fun, fun. Although I have this feeling that when the boys help with dishes I'm now going to be hearing "Carefully, carefully with the plates..."

Fall Festival tomorrow.  I'll be running one of the games.  Gotta be there at (acck, pfft!) 8:30 to assist the guys with the blow-up slides and places where the kids can bounce around.  Between that and running the games I'll set up the sound system for background kids christian music and assorted microphone-powered announcements like "Food is ready, let's eat!"

WE GOT A NEW SOUND BOARD!!!   :eek!:

On a list of major events this ranks right up there with a band hitting platinum on their album, or a church paying off their building payments in full.  It's right below a public visitation by angels.  Our sound board has been going bad for years, YEARS, and the best we have ever been able to get is sending the thing off to be "repaired" by people who don't ever really fix it.  For years I've been working around problems and warning people I only have so many work-arounds.  For months we have been using monitor 3 output to run the main house speakers (yes it was that bad - main sound out has been down for some time.)

And now, after the trouble we had last Sunday, just like that we get a new sound board.

I popped over to the church before work to look at it where the pastor left it.  It's real!  It's a big Yamaha 32-input, 14-bus behemoth.  Almost twice the price of the Behringer 32-in I've been recommending, but it'll work.  4 monitor outs, 2 FX outs OR 2 additional monitor outs (selectable per channel), 4 subgroups, 24 XLR preamps, 3 8-channel groups for phantom power...  I'm still in shock here.  After literally years, poof! we finally get a new sound board!

Can anyone guess what I'll be doing after Fall Festival today?  That's right, I and Bro. David will be having some fun!

What's that?  Yes, to me setting up a new sound board is in fact fun.  :D

Lawd. What a day. It's beautiful out and I've done absolutly nothing productive. Had to go to Conway to meet the guy I traded cars with so I could pick up a few parts he had... Chey and I took Rusty. Chey was able to get the driver of a big rig we passed to blow the air horns at her- it made her day.
Now, I'd like to relax and unwind the rest of the night, but no. It's Fall Festval at Chey's school, which means I have to go 1) put up with people, 2) pay money I don't have for a dinner that I won't like, and 3) listen to the sound of screaming kids. Not what I wanted to do.....

Shoulda come to our Fall Festival.  It was free, you would have liked the barbecue and catfish (or one or the other) and it was outdoors with no echo from the kids screaming in the distance.

The putting up with people part... now you begin to sound like a certain other person here.

Speaking of which, the Fall Festival was a blast as always.  Many kids, many adults, a very long line at lunch time.  Much fun was had by all.

Then we tore into the sound system, ripped out the old sound board, put in the new one, connected everything... and no sound.  Channels were unmuted, signal was coming in, volume was up, everything was connected, but no sound.  Then I found a per-channel button that toggles between mono out and stereo out.  Bo-ther-ation!

We got all the mics to a fairly balanced level in main speakers and various monitors but it's impossible to set it exactly right until there's a crowd in the building and everything is going.  The current rating for the sound system is "serviceable."  It will be upgraded to "good" as soon as we have a church service and get everything balanced out.

In the meantime I'm resting and putting skin lotion on my sunburn.

party was a success.  It has been heavenly weather all week! Made an apple pie for the the party & for the friend who brought me the apples.

Made the soup for tomorrow. Too bad I probably couldn't get a job making whole food meals. I'd love it.

Bittersweet to spend with my friends who are off to Turkeyland. 2yrs or rapture till I see them again.

While my love language is touch, I do not like holding hands with ppl for prayer. Totally distracting. We always pray at the end of parties. Last party a backslider came & got prayer for pancreatic cancer/ health. He was here again tonight & said he      improving by leaps & bounds.  He hasn't been back to church yet but he WILL!

The kids invited the neighbor kids over. Purposely to be evangelistic. It encouraged Andrew to invite the same aged girl to church. God is good!

Happy Sunday guys.

Happy Sunday to you and yours.

This week has been a fairly good week, all told.  Got my van fixed, a new sound board, said sound board installed, work done on this soundtrack and Fall Festival was a riot.

Tomorrow, as the sound board cannot be really set up until a crowd is there and everything is going full swing, I predict I will be spending both services in the sound booth.  Please help me pray that, as I will be up there, there will be a great service and I will be able to talk Bro. David into getting OUT of the sound booth and going up to the altar.  He's a good man, does all kinds of stuff around the church, been baptized, but he stays in the sound booth every service.  He needs the Holy Ghost.

In other, unrelated news... Everything worked perfectly!  I almost fell out of the sound booth.   Fired the sound system up for church today, everything worked perfectly.  That has never happened before, we've always had to tweak a bit when everything got going.  I mean you set it up as best you can beforehand, but there's a fundamental difference between an empty house, testing one mic at a time, and a full house with multiple channels in.  This time we hit it dead-on.  I have no idea how, and it'll probably never happen again.

As I'm no longer employed at the Zone, I had today off. Naturally I had talked myself out of going to church last night. Got up this morning, took my new pooch Whiskey for a walk, got back and before I knew it I was putting church clothes on (and yes I had had clothes on before that). Church was really good. It was a packed house too. Going back this evening as well.

Everything is squared away with my former car. I'm still using my landlady's suv she left here. APB even showed me how to use the 6 disc changer. I'm not so up with the technology. And on that segment I don't understand all the fuss about Steve Jobs dying. Yes it's sad but not any sadder than anyone else passing away from cancer. Idk.

When it's someone high profile it just gets a lot more attention.  :smirk2:

Went and brought my sister's power washer up here to the house to get it going to take it to church and power wash stuff....  It was cantankerous and didn't want to cooperate at first...but I kept on running it till it blew the cobwebs out...or cat poop (from my sister's cats in her garage) as my mother said.  :freaky:  Seems like it's running pretty normal now.  So tomorrow I reckon I shall light into trying to haul water and wash stuff over there.....

The Amish really need to come and build my chicken pen while I'm doing that.

Don't get too excited with that power washer, you might blast off something that should have stayed on.

I recall a guy talking about his new snow blower, and he couldn't wait for the first snowfall.  First day it dumped a lot of snow he was outside about 9am.  "I snowblowed our yard and Gerald's and the sidewalk and part of the street and two cats and somebody's Honda Accord... I gotta find some more snow."

Guys, Prayer request.  I post in here because I feel it is most likely to be seen the fastest.

I have a friend in Afghanistan that I requested prayer for not too long ago.  Things are better since that day, so I'm asking once again for prayer for the same man.  He's is leaving today on a mission that is more dangerous than most, and for some reason has me greatly worried.  No sleep tonight for me.  He will be gone a few days, and I just ask for continuing prayer on his behalf as well as the other soldiers with him.  Please pray for their safe return from this one.  It's almost time for them to be home.

Thank in advance.  Ashlee

Don't have to talk to stop up the line.  Just call, say "Hi" and put the handset down beside the cradle, still on, still connected.  T'would work.  :D

On that note though, I think communication technology has degraded communication by making it easier to say more to more people.  When you had to go to where someone was to say something you didn't go until you had something worth saying.  With phones, txt mssg, social networks, chatrooms, etc., never have so many said so much about so little.

Come on over and I'll see if I can get our pastor's wife to make you one.  Failing that, I have a lot of slices of the previous one in the freezer.  Or if you come next Sunday we're having lunch after church, and there will probably be one of our pastor's wife's red velvet cakes on the dessert table.

Sometimes if there are leftovers after a church dinner I'll put on an innocent expression and say "Hey Sister, do you have any plans for that cake?"  She and the pastor don't eat a lot of sweets as a general rule so she's usually happy to get rid of it - and I know it and she knows I know it.   :hypocrite:

Isn't low sugar caused by your pancreas not producing glucose, not the consumption of sugar?  And have you had this diagnosed by a doctor?  If you had low sugar, you would suffer from anything from mild dysphoria to seizures and unconsciousness. Rarely would low sugar cause death.

Hypoglycemia in his case can be caused by the pancreas producing too much insulin... as a result of a sudden increase in blood sugar (consuming sugar, or a different type of sugar than normal). And while yes, it can "only" cause unconsciousness, if you are unconscious because of low blood sugar, and don't get more sugar in your blood fast- the result is your brain starving to death... because your brain lives off of sugar. The longer you are unconscious due to low blood sugar, the  more brain cells die. The whole reason you go unconscious is because it is your body's way of trying to conserve every possible bit of sugar to keep your brain alive as long as possible.

Ok, but what I am asking, if he has low blood sugar, he needs to eat some sugar, not avoid it, right?

After rereading your post Sunshiney, I guess my confusion is 3 fold:  1) is it low blood sugar if you are producing to much sugar, 2) What is Seths problem, and 3) (no offense Seth) have you had this diagnosed, or are you being a hypochondriac?

Diabetics more typically have problems with high blood sugar levels, though it can sometimes go low through certain circumstances.

Diabetes is when your blood sugar is to high, which I have. However mine started out as Hypoglycemia as a teenager. If I ate any type of really sweet cereal for breakfast my sugar would usually bottom out before lunch. Later it turned into Diabetes in my early 20's. One doctor explained it this way "Your pancreas produced so much insulin in reaction to sugar in your system that it kind of wore itself out leading to diabetes". I don't know how scientific his theory was but that's what he told me. Cheese does have reason to watch the sugar intake, but in moderation it shouldn't hurt him to much.

What I'm wondering is if he was at the point where truly "ANY SUGAR WILL KILL ME!!! GAHHHHH!" there would be a huge record of doctor visits, insulin, medicine, and careful moderation on his (and godplace's) part.

I know a girl who is truly allergic to high fructose corn syrup.

I've wondered if I was hypoglycemic before because I get extremely tired after I eat. No matter what it is. Sometimes I have not been able to stay awake.

I'm too cheap to go to the dr. lol

Well if his sugar is low insulin would kill him much quicker than sugar. lol

Yall are forgetting that while he may have a low sugar problem, the reason he thinks that one bite would kill him is cause he is a hypochondriac.

Well, Lord.

You have all run amuck while I've been at the church power washing.....   Lands, as much as their is to do and as long as it takes, you'd think I was taking care of the Brooklyn Tabernacle, not a little country church. lol  :-?

Anyways, my input on all your collective above ramblings:

Jerbil, if you have low blood sugar, you are supposed to eat a high protein and low carb diet.  Like part of what Cheryl mentioned, an influx of sugars into your system can make your pancreas throw out too much insulin and make your glucose drop too much, yadda yadda....  Protein and crud breaks down slower than carbs and helps to keep things on a more even keel....  You're to avoid refined sugars especially, and things like white bread, and so on...  You get plenty of naturally occuring carbs and sugars in lots of foods.  If your sugar is particularly low at a given point in time, then yes, you should eat something of a sweet sort to bring it back up, but otherwise you avoid the sweets....

Yes, I have doctored for it in the past.  I have largely gotten better, thank God.

Mel-Mel does have some truth in her statement on the hypochondria, because honestly, if I took a big mouthful of delicious red velvet cake, ice cream, punkin' pie, or etc. etc., just because I put it in my mouth I would feel ill and panicked.  lol

I haven't ate "sweets" for years now.  And I don't eat white bread, or actually much bread in general period....I don't do hardly any pasta either.  I don't do artificial sweeteners or caffeine either.  (Those actually are things the doctor mentioned as well.)  Normally the only thing I eat that has artificial sweeteners is chewing gum or cough drops, lol....very very rarely perhaps a piece of sugar free candy.

Lands.  The more I do, the more there is to be done.....

Here at home, I have a stack of lumber waiting to be turned into a breeding pen addition....

I need to get a spot plowed this fall for a garden next spring....maybe make better progress on it than this past pitiful year....

Several buildings and cages need various repair and maintenance.

I need to turn the woodshed into a brooder house for next season so I don't have to use the garage.....

Garage needs cleaned out.

House needs cleaned.

Garden area needs fenced in.

13 acres need refenced.

I need to clean out the henhouse and give all the birds an Eprinex treatment.

And that's just a few things....there's countless others....big and small.

At church, I'm powerwashing....preparing to repaint the foundation walls.

Outhouses need repainted as well.

A spot of shingles needs fixed on the roof....the people that did our last repairs are all booked up till who knows when, I may need to find somebody else, or try to climb up there myself...our roof is steep.... :o

Want to put up new railings on the steps and ramp.

New carpet on the steps and ramp.

Need to put in a cistern in lieu of the well since it seems to have issues a lot anymore.

Want to have a tree cut down.

Want to do some landscaping stuff around the building.

Want to get a new load of gravel for the driveway and do some landscaping involved with that.

Want to pour a concrete slab in back by the ramp.

And then there's a thousand other things, big and small as well.

Well (sniff) it's official - I am sick with a head cold.

I'm just (sniff) glad it didn't happen over the weekend.  I'd hate to (sniff) have had a cold putting a damper on such a great weekend.  And yesterday, when I should have gone for piano lesson, I canceled because I had been busy and hadn't practiced, so going wouldn't have done any good - good thing, because I was (sniff) certainly contagious Monday and probably the last half of Sunday as well, and I would hate to (sniff) have given my teacher this.

From experience, the more sleep I get now, the better it will be by work time tomorrow.  G'night.

On the tire thing....it seems to be holding air okayish without the trailer and tank of water weighing on it...and the screw is at the top side where it's sitting....  Hopefully I can drive it to the tire shop where I got the tires at, and they do plugs for free if you got the tires there I think.....IF it can be plugged.....it's right at the edge of the bottom....close to the sidewall...I don't know if it's where they can plug it or not...they can't plug them if it's too far up the side....I hope it's pluggable, otherwise, patooty.

Quote from: sunlight on October 13, 2011, 12:58:18 AMhow do you sub substitute flax seed for eggs?

You can substitute all but one egg in almost any baking recipe. Sometimes I sub all the eggs but then the consistancy is different, which I understand.

1 T ground flax + 2T water = 1 egg. You mix &let sit for a couple of min. while you do other prep. It gets gooey like an egg.

It has omega 3 stuff that fish & nuts do.  It also emits a slight oil like nuts &has a slight nutty flavor similiar to pecans. So by trial & error u can also decrease your oil in recipes.

It makes a great additive to granola & breading mix.  You can also top breads with it like sesame seeds. That's what size they are in whole form. I would buy them whole & grind them in the blender a small batch at a time & store in a jar in the fridge.

Hope that helps! :)

Nope you didn't miss a post. :) I'm just behind. Catching up on the facebooks and texts about today.

I went in this morning at 615 am. Which is way too early for my mind. I was sitting there waiting..scared and nervous...They had a horrible time getting my IV and then they couldn't get the blood they needed. So it started of terrifying me. I was scared out of my mind. so I closed my eyes and prayed. When the anesthesiologist came in to explain what was going to happen I asked for something to calm me down. She gave me something in my IV and I kept praying. They came to get me for the "surgery" and I wasn't scared. It wasn't as bad as I expected. I woke up feeling good and awake and calm. When the dr came to talk to me after and show me the pictures he said that he had great news. The "mass" that they had found was gone, just gone. All that showed was some irritated tissues there.  They did do a few (6) other biopsies to see what is wrong, and I do have the beginnings of some pretty bad ulcers. So I'm on some different meds to help with that. So that is my amazing news!

The bad news of the day. They fired me at work. Medical leave or not, they replaced me. So I'm jobless...AGAIN! But if God can heal me, he can find me a better job!

Love you guys! I'm just really tired and sore tonight. I promise to keep you all updated. or add me on facebook!

Applesauce is easy peasy. I have a crock pot method I LOVE because it's super simple. I peel and core the apples and cut them in chunks put them in the crock pot with about a cup or two of 100% apple or cranberry juice I've even heard of people doing grape juice. I put it on high for an hour or so then on low for 6-8 hours..mush it up and freeze it. I freeze it in bags and then put it in a "recycled" peanut butter jar after it's thawed out..

Apple butter is one I need to learn too :)

I don't know how to make apple butter or apple sauce.  I need to figure it out.

You just cook the poop out of some apples with sugar, cinnamon or whatever your particular recipe calls for.

Cook the what out?  How many worms did you find in those apples anyway?   :o

*waiting for an update from Heather*

Hello, everyone! :hi: I was up drinking coffee at 5:30 this morning. Yes, I know. That's early. But when my night-owl husband got a job that starts at 6:45AM... well, let's just say the whole family's schedule ends up rearranged significantly.

Cheese, I'm late to comment, but the first thing I noticed in your pic was the geese. *grin*

That means she's closer to a quick trip to meet Lou and I.

And y'all have been busy since I checked in last- Lady Ruby, good to see you posting again.... Mellow Yellow, you and S eth have flung a craving on me for apple butter. Lacey- I'm so glad to hear the good report. Proves our God is STILL in the healing business. I saw a newspaper photo the other day of someone in India worshipping their God. It was a statue, with an elephant's head. All I could think, is, Thank God I know the TRUE God, and He doesn't just stand there. He gets involved in my life and I'm so glad He does.

We had awesome church last night. I was supposed to preach, and had prepared too, but told God I'd really rather not because I felt very poorly. I looked up, and behold, a ram in the bush! :biglaugh:
My former youth pastor ( Bro. Ron Pickard, from Boswell, Oklahoma) and his wife came walking in, and I managed to beg him into preaching. He did a great job and we had folks in the altar praying. My friend Jim, the backslidden minister I spoke of, was there again, praying and worshipping God. There was a couple that has been to our church twice with no pentecostal background to my knowledge came to the front crying and praying, and my aunt, who has no pentecostal background either, has came to two services and prayed in both of them.
Revival, that has been promised for years, is finally happening at my little church!

And in other news, I still feel puny today and did something I rarely do. I called in and took the day off, took some meds, and am trusting I'll feel better soon. :waving:
