We've had the crud in our house the past week and counting. I thankfully don't have a sore throat after the first day, but unfortunately Jeremy does have it. Thankful he's taking that for the team. Hoping this can be nipped soon because my nephew's coming at Christmas and I will be a grump if I'm unable to hold him.

Counting down the days (very impatiently) to my derm appt. Skin issues are driving me absolutely insane. So tired of dealing with them.

Lynx

Zinc zinc zinc zinc zinc!

Take zinc!

I've had one-day colds by taking zinc and lying down a lot.

Cold-eeze is my brand of choice.

Also it's fun to say zinc.

Chel graduates with her MSN tomorrow. I'm happy that particular phase is done.

MsJennJenn

Is that masters of science in nursing Sandra? Wow congrats Chel.

I'll look zinc up Isaac. I'll take any help at this point. I'm at the cant stop cough phase and it's miserable.

I take so many vitamins already, there better already be enough zinc in my system. LOL. I do feel like I have more energy now. I was negative for flu & covid, so they basically said I had a cold last week. Got worse with the coughing and all, but I feel like I'm def better than last week and on the mend.

Church got canceled this morning due to sub zero temps and a bit of snow.

Lynx

It was back in the middle
Of the coldest winter
When I first knelt down to pray
Everybody huddled
Round the old wood stove
Trying to keep the chill away
Well the preacher shivered out another warning
Out of the snow sang the choir
And though I wasn't near the wood that was burning
Yeah I began to feel the fire
"Do you sing at church?"
"Yes I sing at church, I sing at home, at work, in the car, at the supermarket, at Wal-Mart..."

I don't think I've ever heard that, Isaac. Is it a song?

A song from the Hinsons.

I edited the story that goes with it, because I didn't want to listen to the story every single time I listened to the song. But the story goes how a town got so cold that the mayor asked the local churches to suspend service until it warmed up  a bit. Most of the churches did, but one pastor said "When the bars close down we'll think about closing too. But until then we'll have service if we have to wrap gunny sacks around our feet."

So one of the Hinsons heard that story, so they wrote that song.
"Do you sing at church?"
"Yes I sing at church, I sing at home, at work, in the car, at the supermarket, at Wal-Mart..."

It was on their live album "On The Road." One of their most popular albums.

The same album that had "Burdens are lifted away" and "He can."

Christmas Eve is finally here.

Jeremy's family is tonight - eating Mexican food as per tradition.

I'll be leaving in the morning for Arkansas. Connor will be in Arkansas THIS evening. Excited to hold that bundle of love. We have some family coming in to meet him on Friday and Saturday, so it'll be a bit chaotic for those few days. Then Sunday I'll be coming back home. I'm probably going back for New Years extended weekend. Really depends on when my brother is kidnapping his son back home. lol..

Came home from Arkansas on Sunday sick again, by Monday I was awful. I went to dr. She said it's most likely the flu strain that's going around that's terrrbible for people. So then of course my husband picked it back up too. So we've been sick with this death cough all week. I *think* maybe I turned a corner last night. I sure hope so. I am so sick of coughing. Stinks. Would have been nice to get outside this week with the 80 degress

Right, by Monday it's gonna be cold again.

Roscoe

Well hello. Life keeps lifin'.
Busy. Often in pain.
Sometimes broken.
Sometimes I'll.
But I yet remain.
Church for watch night service  tonight. I've been at the church most of the day- packing up much of Bro Wilson's  office  decor. Should been done long ago, it's been three years  since I lost him and five since his office became mine. Its just been a mental block when I thought about it.
Got started today with one giant plastic tote and one large trash bag.
Gonna go home as soon as I finish  converting this taped sermon to mp3...

Monday comes too fast. Sigh.

I had to be up at 640am every day since Thursday for work cus of 1/1 plan change for various clients. To ensure their plan changes are working as they should and cus we had to turn in a check-in email to the boss.

So I technically didnt truly have a free weekend off. I need a redo.

Shew. I'll be glad when January is over, I'm back at work, and things slow down a bit. I'm off right now until the 20th but I'm staying covered up with everything else. :pound:
