Well, we have turkeys running out our ears. Lou and Chey both received one from work and I had at least one, maybe two, already in the freezer.
I'm probably gonna try smoking one of them.
I've done nothing but sleep today. Didn't sleep well at all last night. I'll start getting ready for church in a couple hours...

Turkeys are good on the smoker. I prefer the drippings not smoked when I make gravy, though.

My family is doing Mexican restaurant for Thanksgiving. Some in the family aren't fans of turkey.

Shew. Therapy, Lou announced this afternoon she needs a pork loin cooked for tomorrow. As usual it was requested that I smoke a pork loin with Apple Habanero sauce. It's nearly 11pm and I just finished- and had to get Chey to take it off the smoker and carry it in.As usual- the shoulder is hurting. The therapy is working but it is NOT kind to me in regards to pain.

I don't blame her a bit for being willing to help. If I help carry it next time, can I have a plate of pork loin? 😄😄😄😄

I hate thanksgiving turkey. Yuck. The only time I've liked a thanksgiving turkey was the one year at a church Friendsgiving, they deep fried it with cajun seasoning. Now that was delicious.

Hubbs is prob working thanksgiving maybe. If not welllpp were just couch potating. lol cus he'll have to be up at work around prob 2-4am for Black friday. eyeeee rolllllll.

I've cooked multiple pies today. Sweet potato , chocolate, a sugar free apple for Chel, and some sugar free pineapple/cheery/banana jello based pies. Tomorrow, I'll do the dressing and no telling what else.

That beats our thanksgiving. Almost the whole family is down with covid. We might do Thanksgiving next weekend. Like, maybe a week and a half from right now.

We are NOT having a family Thanksgiving lunch. Uncle Fred and wife, and uncle Bren and whole family have got da covids. I have a cold, and so does dad. Only ones uninfected are aunt Diane and crew. So we will have Thanksgiving when all the coughing has cleared up.

We WILL have it though. My family is big on family dinners. We like getting together to eat and talk. We only ever postpone. We never, ever outright cancel. The universe owes us a Thanksgiving dinner now, and we WILL claim it.

Hubbs went in at 1130 on Thanksgiving and worked until 3pm Black Friday, and by 3pm they had already done 236k. He said it was wild.
then he proceeded to work 10pmish to next day some time for Saturday and Sunday. Lordy retail is brutal.

Actual conversation between me and a rather frazzled looking checkout clerk at a Walmart on a black Friday:
"With Walmart open on Thanksgiving, does it turn black Friday into dark grey Friday?"

"Are you trying to be cute?"

"No, that was a sincere question. Does it lighten the load on Friday? Or is it just as bad, but now twice as long?"

"It doesn't help Friday. Just makes the whole mess twice as long."

So, I sent the rest of the sweet potato pie home with Chel for the boys. Now I've just got to get rid of the few leftovers in the fridge.

I've been nibbling on leftover sweets. Had to go get some of my training certificates together. It was pleasant strangely enough, to be there. Tonight I had to be the escort for Chey at the bank Christmas party. Little heifer won $260 tonight.
