I could say, "Well... More loopy than usual." But that would be far too predictable, so I won't say it.

They finally said Dad gets out of rehab in a week and a day. I should probably wash the dishes some time between now and then.

Woohoo glad it all went well, so far. Now comes the fun part lol.

SO glad it's Friday. I work Mon/Tues next week and then I'm off until the 28th for our 3rd anniversary.
Not that we have any plans lol but at least we'll be off of work.

Shew. Some of the worst pain I've ever had. Today has been rough. But I am surviving

Day 3. Pain has varied from off the charts to not bad. Had Chey help me get dressed, kinda, and take me to church, as we had a guest preacher. Glad I went but the pain has increased...

What did the doctor say about your shoulder though? Complete success, it will heal up good as new?

I was told it was successful....took 3 and a half hours. Allegedly when I came out of anesthesia the first words I said were "Blessed be the name of the Lord" which made the doctor laugh.
Today .. be rough.

Gotta take my mom to drs appts tomorrow. Sister doesn't want to drive in Tyler.  :tearhair:

Dad is coming home Saturday. I guess I should wash the dishes...

Single guy life, y'know.  :smirk2:

Probably should throw out these 47 empty gallon water bottles too. They sure do pile up after a few months.

Shew. Sleep and lay around. I am thankful for the pain is much easier. difficult to type with one hand. Difficult to do ANYTHING with one hand.
Had Chey take me to town Tuesday... bought an entirely too expensive power lift chair since I cant lay down and was worried I would injury the shoulder trying to get out of the recliner I had. Much easer to rest although true rest is difficult. Im sleeping alot but its in one and two hour intervals.. :pound:

I keep telling myself that I'm thankful for options.
Maybe nothing sounds good to eat but I have food choices.
Maybe you didn't want to spend money on a chair, but it was possible. It's no fun to be in pain from surgery, but now you're on the mend and things should be better soon, instead of just getting worse...

Sometimes I think how it would have been in the 1800s and I'm really thankful for now.

So true.
I am very thankful for the blessings. It is a huge blessing to be able to have the surgery and to have enough time saved that I won't miss a penny of pay too...

So the workaholic thing worked out for you in the end. That's neat.

Dad came home Saturday. I was of course kidding about the dishes. I had already been washing them up, all week.  :biglaugh:

He sure is glad to be in a house instead of a hospital or nursing home rehab. Seems the other guy in his room has stomach cancer and never can get comfortable. "The only time I could get any real sleep was the four hours when he went away for chemo. If a nurse or a visitor came in while he was gone and woke me up, boy I was so mad..."

This evening is already 6 months since my husband passed...

The Purple Fuzzy

So, Isaac, is your dad settling in ok?

Lynx

Yeah, pretty much.

He's not visiting, or staying here to heal up. He has moved back home. The sojourn in Kentucky was the result of... Well, it's complicated. But he never wanted to move to Kentucky in the first place, and now that he is back home he's staying. So this is permanent.

He's still having constipation issues though... But he's 70 and just went through a long bout of hospital and nursing home, not to mention getting his foot cut off. So he's hoping that will level out.

So on our days off we ended up going to Tiger Safari in Tuttle Oklahoma. We did their mega VIP tour and we were the only ones there, so it was awesome. I got to feed a tiger (via a pole lol), fed a baby zebra, some deers, saw a ton more big cats LOVE, got to hold a type of komodo dragon, a tiny lizard, a chinchilla SO SOFT, a snake a python of sorts maybe? A parrot, a type of racoon (not the normal black/white kind) this one was brown, saw a big ol bear that this place has had since he was a cub, and he's like 23 in bear years now. It was worth the trip.

Then weeee did nothing else but be lazy and eat. lol
and tire light came on car that Friday - we took it to Discount tire only to realize i had made the appointment for 10/31.....not 10/24 sigh. lol but the guy checked our tires, checked the air.... said it was good and sent us on our way.

Only for Adam to use car yesterday and coming home from work tire is FLATTT. It had a nail. SIGH.
Thankfully in this case we took it to Walmart auto and because we pay for Walmart+ tire repairs are free. Lordy Hallelujah. Adam had to take the car to Dallas/Ft Worth today/tomorrow for work so he was stressing hard.

Our temp droppppped and has been so so windy. I've been fighting an awful tension headache since about 6am this morning. These temp changes really mess me up.

Oh and Bobby about using one hand I've been there when I had my carpal tunnel surgery. Lordy you don't realize how much you truly use your hands for and the way your hands like move L-R, Up-Down, until you cant do it!! Going to the restroom was uhhh fun when you can't bend your wrists lol.

Glad you are doing okay though!!

Went and got my stiches out today. They gave me a set of pictures of what it looked like. Very visible hole in the rotor cuff and the ligaments that were supposed to be smooth...had very frayed sides. They looked like feathers.
They said everything looked good...I start pt the 6th and I have four more weeks in the sling. They did tell me I can drive-as long as I'm not on pain meds. All in all, going decent other than occasional pain.
And Fuzz that 6 months went by fast. I meant to comment you were in my prayers when I saw that post, but apparently I drifted off to sleep...

Meh... I'm hoping I feel more rested at least on Sunday morning before my class starts, LOL.

I was finally able to get an appointment with the dermatologist in January and the allergist in March. Unfortunately none of these appointments are soon enough. I've been having eczema flare ups and who knows what on/around my eye. They're incredibly itchy, but allergy meds are not helping. I've got dry eyes apparently... and that's all they've really gone with my eyes altho they are torturing me. Lubricant drops aren't helping. I see my eye doctor again in December, same as my regular doctor. I'd really prefer to have something done before that, but it's incredibly hard to get into the local eye doctors for some reason.

Tonight instead of CR, we're setting up for our Trunk or Treat for tomorrow night. Then of course... Trunk or Treat tomorrow night. We are doing a barn theme for our car. Athena will be dressing up either as a pig or a cow, and we will be the farmers. I'm not going that 'all in' this year since everyone else kinda didn't do it that much last year. I've got a backdrop, and then I bought a bucket from Target (we call these feed buckets at my parents' farm LOL) for my candy. We'll probably just stand around or sit in a chair... I didn't want to buy hay/straw only for this since I have no use for the bales after tomorrow night. I do have straw-designed tablecloths, so I may incorporate them somehow. Just wanna hand kids candy!
