@Work, but within an hour of release.

Survive this weekend. Jeremy had fishing trip with AMVETS about an hour away all weekend, so I had to keep the dog (and the cat, but she's easy) while he was gone. We also had breakfast responsibility for all SS classes this weekend (which he didn't realize when he got the trip) so that was fun. With everything being so busy lately (fall fest that I'm in charge of Thurs evening, funeral Friday (lady in our church passed Friday AM), Pastors Appreciation (also in charge) this coming weekend) I am streeessed. We are working on our decor for the trunk or treat Thursday as well. I've got quite a few colored plates to paint like a Skittle. I thought this would be simple, but I may have bit off more than I can chew. Thankfully Jeremy's making the clouds haha. I'm just responsible for the rainbow and the skittles.

Urgh. It is morning. Sheesh.  I don't feel like there WAS a weekend.

Quote from: Lynx on October 24, 2024, 12:53:29 PMI put my electronic leash on silent when I am at my job or at church. Anybody tries to call me, I'll get back to them.

My phone is on silent 100% of all of the time. I can't do the constant noises. Now I do leave my work phone on sounds during my workday lol and even those sounds drive me nuts.

Quote from: mini on October 28, 2024, 04:16:01 PMJen, my wife and I are in your fair city this morning...if you feel an odd disturbance in the force, its us!

I knew the day felt weird.

Partly.

Both husband and I have been sickly (stomach) the last 12-24 hours. Really hoping it's just food we ate and NOT a bug.

Trunk or treat is tomorrow night and I have one cloud done. I did just paint the skittles at least. LOTS to do tonight! Plus I've gotta make a fruit tray tonight or maybe tomorrow during the day for the funeral dinner Friday.

Been alive. In several ways. My old man is wanting to get in the spirit of the season and be a zombie. These folks pushing ALL my buttons.
I have one of the most inconsiderate coworkers of all time. I go to her office in another county on Wednesday to help her with drug testing. I stay until noonish and utilize the morning when not drug testing to see folks who live in her county, to save them a drive. Wednesday evening, I'm back to my office to see more clients. (I have Tuesdays and Thursdays to see my folks, as Friday is field work). So, with 120 people on my caseload, I have little to no time to vary, typically seeing 15 to 17 per day to get them all in as per policy.
Heifer asks today if I can "stay later so she can get home visits, etc...". I told her I had appointments but would shuffle around- needed to get back to my office by 4pm. I tried to help.
She never came back. At 415 I am 20 minutes from my office and appointments. That's it. Will NOT assist again other than the drug testing. Period, and will tell boss why.
Totally could be like Jesus in the table flipping mode right now. Angry and annoyed- and have to go teach bible study. Knowing my daughter likely will find an excuse to miss.

I had something like that happen today. A woman from a store in a neighboring town drove over to borrow a couple cases of supplies. I will call her woman. I refuse to call her a lady.

She parked about as far from the door as she could, then stood there and waited for me to haul each case out to her car. Didn't bother to help carry a single thing. Didn't even occur to her to park closer. Next time I will leave the stuff she wants to borrow by the back door. Then I will lock it.

We got rain this morning. We sure needed it. They lifted some of the burn bans but not our county, yet.

The last of my foam tires came! My bike is now 100% puncture proof.

More expensive than a new inner tube, but way less expensive than new inner tubes over and over and over, and stopping on the side of the road to change a tire every now and then.

I've been riding with a foam tire on the front for a while, just to see if it would work for me. It does, rather well.

They actually sell them in PSI equivalents. You can buy one that is the same density as the tire pressure to which you are accustomed. That doesn't mean any of them are soft... Inveterate bikers run 90 psi, minimum.

Morning all. Let's see if anyone comes back...
Dragging this morning and have not found my motivation or my Dr. Pepper. Thankfully it's Friday. And tomorrow...gotta work at the church for a bit. My wife has decreed that Monday though is OUR day, being as how it has been a month or better since we had a day to ourself.

Present.

Been a long week. Funeral was sweet and we were glad we were able to go even if it was just a drive in that morning and drive back that afternoon. I wanted to be there for my best friend's family.

I'm tired.

I'm not crazy about this whole month so far. Lost one of my best saints and friends- that funeral was HARD. But when his son who has just been coming a few months stood up during the second song, carrying his dad's bible, stopped at the coffin, then began a victory march "for Dad because he would do this"...man, I walked with him as did half the church, but it caused me to battle tears.
Now to get back to regular life...and carpet replacement....and covering the new sewer line...
Maintenance on a 55 year old building. It NEVER ends. :pound:

All of you are still there.

Assorted cheesecake flavors this Sunday at church. Yay!
