Back at work, thankful for what God has given me.....even on the days that I feel I am praising him on credit.  :-\

Awake, dressed for work, devotional read, and now I'm just waiting on cinnamon rolls to finish for breakfast. I refuse to let this day get to me either. Yesterday tried and I fought alot of tears at work but I made it by golly!

Sounds like a Lamentations kinda time Roscoe.  Prayed for ya this morning, that your focus would be on the promise and not the process.

Looks like another good weather day.  So thankful for his mercies new every morning.  I'm off to clean the church today and maybe pull some more weeds.  I pulled up 6gallons by the roots yesterday.  I think I don't actually have a yard but a dandelion sanctuary... Did you know that dandelion leaves are edible?  I could've made a huge salad out of them I guess but I didn't feel like it.  I was thinking how weird it is that I would be more likely to eat something I planted all nice and neat rather than something growing natural and wild, or why just because it's not a common modern food does it seem like it would have less flavor appeal? I did eat a leaf out of curiosity.  It kinda just tasted simliar to spinach and other spring mix lettuce leaves.  Almost tasted like butter for an aftertaste.

I sprayed some dandelions a week or 2 ago (not the one I tried mind you ) with weed killer but it doesn't seem like it really did much good.  So I'm just a pulling them up by the root.

Whew!

Good morning!

Had a busy day yesterday. It was Dads birthday, so we took him a party to his hospital room! I made a steak and all his favorite sides, and we had them hold his dinner tray so he could eat the food I brought. Then we had people come in to give him cards and wish him a happy birthday! Total count was 16 people in and out all evening! Plus he got many many phone calls while we were there.

He was surprised and very very happy! I made little mini pineapple upside down cakes that turned out awesome! And there were just enough that everyone had at least one, and some got a few more! Even some of the nurses were able to have some. It really turned out awesome and Dad was pleased.

Today I have to go clean the church extra good cause it's the first week of the month and there is extras I have to do like check a/c filters and vacuum the fellowship hall.

But first...breakfast.

Thanks! Its really not that bad, just a little conflict with a longtime friend that I really wish didn't take place.....brief cliff notes, he's cheif at my part time job, a backslider who at one time felt a call to preach... told him when I hired in I couldn't work weekends, just Friday during the day... he agreed, now he's wanting me to work Friday nights or Saturday nights. I can't, for various reasons, and I got the distinct feeling he was upset when I refused......just sad that there's conflict. Surprisingly, for a cop, I hate conflict...

MellowYellow you've never tried fried dandelions?

I still do not understand why people call dandelions weeds.  They are nutritious, pretty and tasty.  I think they look better than almost all the flowers you usually see in a floral shop.  :D

I shall work cards Wed-Fri. this week.

They want me to cover the Target store again since that girl quit and basically I'm their fall guy for the Bloomington area....there's another lady that works some Bloomington stores but they never have her do anything...I don't know why, if she refuses, or she's not good at it, or what...lol

Anyways, I've made it plain that I don't have time for everything.  So they can just take what they get and shut up about it or get some people hired for this stuff.

The trainer lady had left me a message this morning that Target had called the boss complaining that there's lots of boxes of product in the backroom that have come in.  Preferring that I get to them today.

Nay, I say.  I said I'd go there tomorrow and do the whole day.  She said okay, but fyi Target should be hit early, mid, and late in the week.  I said, yes, I know, but this is a beggars can't be choosers scenario.

I don't know what she thought of that....I really didn't mean it hatefully....much.  :P  It's just the truth.  I have already said I don't have enough hours in the day to do stuff, so they can take it or leave it or get somebody else to do it.  If I used all the hours allotted to Target and my regular stores this week, it would be well over 40, and as part time merchandisers you are not allowed to go over 40 anyways....  So I'm shaving time off my own regular calls as well as a ton off the Target.  If I didn't have to spend extra time on Target I wouldn't have to shave my regular ones, but tuff pootey.  I've been nothing but helpful to these people, so they can stick it in their pipes and smoke it.

The Purple Fuzzy

Target is a pain to merchandise for.  Wal Mart can be to, just depends on the mgmt.

Seth:  Do what you can, as fast as you can, as well as you can... and then ask them if they want you to get overtime.  :D
The worst they can say is no, but they might say yes!

That Target is generally nice and stuff it seems like.  There is a lot of stuff that has just shipped in, I know, but like I said, tuff nuggets.  My life doesn't revolve around them. lol

For the record, a mountain dew code red, chaesd by a cup of coffee makes me as wired as a squirrel on meth......I need a prescription of meller yellers product to mellow me out, dude. :laughhard:

I need to go get rid of some weed(s) at the church.....the place has been in a state of neglect and looks terrible.  Among other things.

Target and everyone associated therewith can bite my fanny.
