Prices at Wal-Mart can be a bit um... off.  Some things you can get cheap, but they have sneaky software (yes, I said software) that analyzes what people buy, what people who buy that will also buy, and what they can get away with raising the price on without losing sales.

A pair of JVC Marshmallow earbuds, normally around $10, are a flat $20 at Wal-Mart.  I mention these in particular because they have a really good flat frequency response, and are (to me) worth a good $60, but if I can get them for ten bucks I ain't paying twenty.  :P  But most people who need earbuds will just go to Wal-Mart and pick some up, without even doing a simple google or amazon search to compare.  So yes, they can get away with it.  And do.

I do not go to Walmart....and if I do..I go to the Neighborhood Walmart. I LOATHE Walmart. It's too busy, and they never have anything that you need and it's SO BUSY. I hate that.

I love Target. They'll always get my business over Walmart.

I loathe Target. ;) IMO, poor quality, and high prices for said poor quality. I'm thinking it must depend on what kind of stuff each person/family buys or something. 'Cause I have a lot of friends who are budget shoppers that really like Target. For some reason I've not found it so for me. *shrug*

Busy, busy, busy day. But we got a lot of stuff done, so I guess that's good. :) My feet hurt though.

Mel dearie, I haven't noticed that you've been complaining much. From what I've seen (and apparently Officer Bob, too) you're more just stating fact. There's a difference. :)

Thanks y'all, every time I post about my troubles and things I feel like such a whiner. Lol

Today was good...but HOT! Dear mercy! It was 91 outside and 87 inside! Air is still not working. I'm calling the air conditioner place tomorrow morning. I have a fan on me now, and I'm fixing to read some more Narnia before I pass out.

Dad has been in a not-so pleasant mood the past few days. I hope he gets over that soon. Other than his grumpyness he is doing good.

I have a lot on my mind right now, and really, I can't even put it all into words. So to try to explain would be beyond my ability.

Please keep praying for us. We need it.

Target here is part of the mall, and on the east side of town not far from IU campus, and it's always teeming with young shoppers....there's old people too, but it's like the college store though.  Wal-Mart is out on the west side of town, and it's always working like a swarm of maggots with every type of person imaginable. lol  And there's a Kmart east and west...east is right across the road from Target, but Kmart is never very busy and it's all the old people.

But anyways, I must go to bed so I can go work tomorrow.......Lord....

Melody

Good morning. :)

Wishing I was just down the road from you, Mel.  .

It's early. I just might go back to bed.

MelodyB

Haha! Why is that?

I'm up for the moment. Been texting a friend this morning already. She is having some major issues...again. I may go back to sleep in a bit.

I didn't get any part of the thing I wanted to get done yesterday, but I got a lot of stuff done that I hadn't even thought about doing, but I'm glad I got done instead.

Good extended weekend.  Now back to work.

Hate to bother you ,

I have a question- have you seen this picture of yours in attachmen>t?? Three facebook friends sent it to me today. .. why did you put it online? wouldn't it harm your job? what if parents see it? you must be way cooler than I thought about you man :)))) !

Of course it comes with an attachment that is (ostensibly) a picture, and of course it's really an .exe file, aka a virus.  This wouldn't have a hope of working because everyone would see the .exe at the end of the file name, but Windows, even in Windows 7, still has the really, really stupid default setting "Hide extensions for known file types."

I do have to give them credit for playing on FB users' fears of privacy breaches.

Can't imagine what idiot would open that.  But there are always plenty.  Probably the ones that have naked pictures in existance.   Then I kinda feel like they totally deserve the virus... lol

MelodyB

Just for the record, I like WM over Target. I never can find the things I need in Target, and the prices seem higher for lower quality products.

I don't choose quantity over quality. I don't like being pushed and the back to back lines like Walmart has. I loathe it! I don't use stuff until the bottle is so dry that I'm scraping another use out with my finger. When I was a kid Mom would always go back into the store if her cans of green beans rang up at 59 cents instead of the 55 cents they were supposedly priced at. Stuff like that doesn't bother me...the whole confrontation of having to go back and tell the cashier they were wrong and I need money back...doesn't appeal to me...lol

Having a blah day. Headache...my eye has twitched since last night....it won't stop. I CANNOT focus because of it today.

Oh my goodness Jenn, you should make a silly video with your twitching eye!  lol

I have notice that stores are different in different areas.  I have been in some horrid Walmarts and then shocked when I have walked into one in a "nice" part of town.  BIG difference!  Even some of the products are different.  Stores can tailor to some extent.  The Costco I go to has good prices, however, I've been told the Costco on the Kansas side competes with an Aldi's and thus has GOOD milk for under $2!  I haven't been to that one.

I am sad that the only good bug repellent I have found is California Baby's brand but apparently our Target no longer carries the brand.   :-(

MsJennJenn

You can't seeee the twitch lol....I can just feel it.

aww man!  Oh the fun you could have if it could be seen. You could pretend to be the crazy lady.

Target is... creepy.  They knew a teen girl was pregnant before her dad did.  In fact her dad found out from the advertisement fliers she got in the mail.

Melody, hooray!  In the summer, in the south, the a/c guy is a very popular person.  :D
