In regards to a possible meet-up on Petit Jean....

I was planning on about an 8 hour drive anyway, with a detour to Tupelo to pick up someone who has a gas guzzling truck that would have drunk a lot of gas on the trip... so this other person isn't going, so it all evens out if we go to Oklahoma. 

Just somebody decide, if anybody can decide who the somebody is.  I think everybody should go, but I'm not somebody.  I guess all that leaves is nobody.

This is where we are at:  We still have that time blocked off to come.  We were looking forward to the outdoors fun as well as meeting everyone.  So Nathan is just slightly hesitant about OK b/c he was so looking forward to AR.  However, I think he would be swayed with even just a bit more info about the campground. 

I think Roscoe should be the decider.  I'm hesitant for us all to gather there for a few days with Lou at work, & so many from the east not being able to come.  However, if Lou still ends up getting the dates off, I'm guessing they could come over to OK to still meet everyone?  If not, perhaps at least Roscoe?  As a wife, I would be on edge waiting to see if I was going to be hosting a bunch of people and having to work throughout.  I'd probably be exhausted after work and hosting is work too.

Don't make me the decider!  Lou will call in for at least one day, should it come to that, and most of the activites were planned for the mountain- only the dinner was planned for the house. If y'all still want to come here, I have no problem with that. In fact, I will be happy.  BUT- if we have it in Oklahoma, perhaps the Mini family will be able to attend. From the sound of it, Isaac was going to travel the same distance anyway,Mel and Kimber can't come in any case  , and having it in Oklahoma would be easier on John and the Mini-ster, maybe Okie could bring her brood, and if it's the same distance for Meller, et al, I'll be the only one inconvienanced. I can try to make it over one day with Lou and Chey, perhaps that Saturday, if Lou can get off.

I hate to make Oklahoma look more attractive- God knows I want to show everyone my beautiful county, but I'd like to make it as convienant as possible for the majority. Just, please, if we have it in Oklahoma this round, please make plans to come here, if not this year, next. Please?!?  
P.S.- Meller, tell Nathan he HAS to make plans to sneak over here sometime, either way. It'll be a trip he'll never forget.

John, I got your PM and will try to slow down and respond.  Dad had major back surgery yesterday, and I was at the hospital all day yesterday.  And the rest of the week is pedal to the metal too...

On the bright side, the car will be in the shop tomorrow to be fixed.  On the unbright side, it cost way more than I could afford.

Folks, good luck. I'm not going to (as if I could) make a decision for our group. I am going to get out of the potential planning of this one. I'll check back occasionally to see if y'all come to a concensus, and may or not make a meetup that weekend.

I wouldn't be staying Saturday night.  I'm the church bus driver.

Someone let me know where to show up, when, and I'll be there.  Thursday and Friday nights, and Saturday until about noon or a little after, I'm there.

We can do Thursday night if we drive right after Nathan gets off work.  We'd get there a bit before midnight... We cannot afford to pay the night's stay for Saturday night if we're the only ones so please others chime in.  Thanks Isaac. 

Then it would only be a Thurday night and Friday night booking, right?

Other than that, are we for sure doing the Freemans' camp?  Nathan is a go if we are.

Not complicated on my end. I don't have any of the connections so I'm just waiting for word from someone else.

Thursday and Friday nights are good for me.  Saturday I'll have to bug out by around 3pm or so.  Gotta get home by at least midnight so I can get a bit of sleep before driving the church bus... you need your rest to deal with those kids.

I talked w/Sis Freeman today, and they are willing to do the $100 a night for both cabins for two nights instead of three: the Thursday and Friday nights y'all mentioned.

That was the thought. I don't think most people have definitely stated whether they want AR now or OK.

Get on the stick people!  Report in!  I'm holding up alternate plans until I see whether this will go through.

Tell me where to show up and I'll be there.  But I'd like to know very soon whether we will even BE meeting.  I really want to give my company as much notice as possible about vacation time, and this thing is less than two weeks away now.
