BroGary

I was asked to post to introduce myself, so here goes -

Hi y'all !

Just a post to introduce myself -

My wife and I have been oneness apostolic for well over 30 years and are very firmly rooted and grounded in the apostolic truth of one God and Acts 2:38 salvation.

I have a good sense of humor which I believe God knows is good for all of us to have -

"A merry heart doeth good like a medicine...." Proverbs 17:22

I have a few hobbies that so far (in recent years) I usually don't seem to have much time/energy for after getting chores and household projects done :-)  (amateur astronomy - have small telescopes/binoculars, weightlifting, and more recently: stop-motion animation, 3D photography, both of which are very easy and inexpensive to do)

I have been trying to improve my farming ability over the past few years to help supplement our income with growing our own vegetables, strawberries, watermelons.   I have a large outdoor garden, a small homemade greenhouse, and a medium size greenhouse I need to finish building.  The soil in my yard is not the greatest and buying a lot of bags of topsoil is too expensive so I have 2 homemade compost bins outside, it makes good compost, but it takes time.

For a long time now I have researched how various political and news events have been helping to set the stage for the coming one world government of the Antichrist, and it is amazing to see how many of the pieces of the "puzzle" have been fitting together.

Over the years we have been part of helping 3 different home mission churches, several years ago we felt led of God to move to South Carolina to be part of a new work here and feel that this is the place we are to stay put from now on.

We are part of a small church that is solidly rooted and grounded in the apostolic truth of one God and Acts 2:38 salvation and realize that as very important as doctrine is (and not to at all dimish that importance), the bottom line is that the result is that individuals come to have a genuine relationship with a living and loving God !

Our church does not believe in big "I"s and little "u"s, we are co-laborers together, all part of the same body !

For there is no respect of persons with God.
Romans 2:11

Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.
1 Peter 5:2,3

In that One-derful name of Jesus !

Howdy Bro. Gary.  Welcome to the fracas.

I shall do my dead-level best to not be jealous of your fresh, home grown strawberries and watermelons.  But man, it's hard!

"Yes I sing at church, I sing at home, at work, in the car, at the supermarket, at Wal-Mart..."

BroGary

Thanks for all the welcomes  :waving:

Don't be too jealous of the strawberries and watermelons,  the first year I grew watermelons they did real good, since then not nearly as good, the deer really discovered my "outdoor restaurant" the following year, then last year excessive heat and lack of rain didn't help.

This year I put up what I hope will be a deer proof fence, and I set out several large tubs as rainbarrels to collect extra rainwater, so hopefully this year the garden will do better than the past 2 years  :smirk2:

Greenhouses are not hard to build using PVC pipes curved like a half circle and covered with clear plastic, be sure to paint the PVC with flat white paint to help make it more resistant to UV rays.  (there are plans and photos online where people show how to make them) (my larger greenhouse I need to finish is like the above)

The smaller greenhouse I already made is unique in that I used a bunch of what used to be large tall double pane glass freezer doors like they use in the freezer aisle in grocery stores. (a friend had a bunch of them he gave me that were discarded when a store renovated if I remember correctly).  I connected them together for vertical walls and then used shorter pieces of PVC arched over the tops to cover with plastic for the roof.

Also, be sure to use NON-GMO seeds, (non-genetically modified), because genetically modified seeds, among other negative things, usually make plants whose seeds can't be used so you have to buy new seeds every year.

Why does man try to improve on how God made things when natural is better  :smirk2:

Thanks for the welcome  :waving:

Welcome a-board.

If they haven't yet, I'm sure someone will be along to warn you about me shortly. :P

When you say "Jesus" you've said everything.

Just to let you know, the easiest way to stay in the loop is to hit that "Show unread posts since last visit" button, then look for the latest SHARING thread.  Currently it's something like "Seth throws a hissy fit too in sharing 462" or something to that effect.

Hiya. I'm excited to hear about your farming stories as I am a complete novice.  Last year I tried growing tomatoes but a cat(s) scratched up my dirt and it took me a little while to know the difference between weeds and tomatoes.  So folks give me a hard time about weed occasionally on here...

I'm growing potatoes, bag style.  Some herbs and flowers.

Bro.Gary, if you're not on Pinterest yet, it has awesome gardening info/DIY stuff.

I almost thought you were a returning GPer from a few years ago named "Bro.Dad."

MelodyB

:sadbounce:

No, sadly Bro Dad has not returned. His wife either. *sigh*

But welcome to Bro Gary.
Have you slapped that one dude from Indiana with a pie in the face today?

Seth...everyone gets warned about you when their account gets approved. They get an email explaining all about you. That's why we have lots of "new members" that join and never post. You scare them away.

Gary - Seth is a 19 year old manic depressive recluse with paranoid schizophrenic tendencies. He is incarcerated in the New Mexico State Mental hospital. In his dream world he is a chicken farmer.
