Sooo, I'm in the bachelor zone when I think, other than the Bro. Papa BBQ night, we could just wait til we get there, throw some money togther, and wing it for meals?

Newsman:  I'm guessing you're not big on cooking.  Two thirds of the fun is in plotting the meals.

And in addition to Friday night's barbecue, Saturday morning's breakfast is already plotted.

"Yes I sing at church, I sing at home, at work, in the car, at the supermarket, at Wal-Mart..."

Yes on the not being a big cook (just big) and I honestly hadn't thought of meal-planning as fun, but happy planning, then!  :thumbsup2:

Re: What everyone is bringing. I thought I'd list what we have and y'all can add whatever you'd like to bring. If this menu is not acceptable, let me know so we can try to accomadate you. I don't want anyone unable to eat or unhappy.

I got the disposable plates, cups, forks, spoons, etc... we'll be the landfill's worst nightmare.

Might oughta specify what "dinner" is.  Around here it's lunch.

Might make that second post in this thread the "Where we are to date" post.  Update it with the full list of who is coming, and full meal planner.  So far we have a definite coverage on Friday night and Saturday morning.

Good point----- for "Dinner", I'm using that as the last meal of the day. AKA Suppertime around these parts. Lunch is lunch.
And speaking of lunch- I'm thinking sandwiches and chips at the campsite that I'm gonna get for those of us that ain't up to hiking ten miles on the trails.... Good?  Bad?

Like that?

I was thinking I can prebake the potatoes and just heat them up when we get there.  I'll have the corn shucked, halved too and a big pot to boil them in.  I was trying to think of an easy side that could travel so I'll have my zucchini/squash all sliced up, seasoned (some with red pepper and onions, parmesean, and some without) and I'll bring my cast iron skillet to sauté them in.  All in all, I'm hoping to use as little kitchen time and space as possible but let me know if that's still too much occupancy.  We don't eat baked beans or coleslaw or most of the common picnic salads, that's also why I'm trying to bring corn and veggie mix.  I'll also bring some disposable serving pan thingys for what I'm making and some contractor bags for trash.

Here's my question:  Is that enough?

For Saturday AM, I will probably run to the local Wallyworld and get some fresh fruit, juice, whatever ect. may intail.  My family will love Isaac's breakfast I know!  It sounds like there will be plenty other stuff for me to choose from as well.  Thank the good Lord I can eat meat!  LOL

It sounds like most people are leaving before lunch on Saturday?  So I'm not sure what we'll do.  We may just go explore the mountain and be out of your hair Roscoe.

35 days... :hyper:
A watched calendar never gets there... or something like that.

MellowYellow sounds good to me.  I like veggies more than most people anyway.  (My reality was even questioned in chat one time - someone wondered if I was real or a computer program because I bake, like veggies and don't like fast food.)   But change "explore the mountains" to "explore the local thrift stores."   I have a habit of wiping them out of all their christian music.  :freaky2:
