I'm with Isaac on the day's inn.. I think it would be fun to bounce between the rooms, and if they make a fuss about the hall we can move outside to the pool or park, there is also the ability to party in Roscoe's backyard late into the night then have designated drivers to get us back to the rooms!

Why Days Inn?  And if someone else likes that idea too, I'll reserve a room immediately.

Lynx

Because all the days I've spent in Day's they were clean and not too bad.
"Do you sing at church?"
"Yes I sing at church, I sing at home, at work, in the car, at the supermarket, at Wal-Mart..."

Party?!?!  :o "designated drivers?!?!  :o

You planning on some serious communion, not just fellowship, aren't you?  :laughhard:

* Note to self- spend the next several weeks cleaning the yard and house, procure meat for Friday night dinner, get Rusty fixed so I'll have something "fittin'" to drive....sheesh. Ya'll are wearing me out.  :P

A thought/suggestiom: which town is Bro. Papa's BBQ at, and how far ias it from Petit-Jean? If we are going to stuff our faces with fine food that Friday evening, it might be cool if we were staying in that town for our night(s).

Also, I like Isaac's thought of starting Thursday evening, that way you people have more time to be harassed by the media!

Come on in Thursday, John. Bro Papa's is in Oppelo, a little town of around 800 or so. If you sleep there, it'll either be in the city park ( where I'll get the call to make you move on, as I am now working part time for that town  :freaky2: ) or at someone's house, as there is no motel.

Truthfully- I had thought, if we wind up doing the motel thing, taking the BBQ fixin's out to my house and having the actual dinner there... Thoughts?

Your house sounds good. There is a privacy & safety about someone's home.  Less likely to disturb others, leaving a bad witness.  Kids will have more room to roam about too rather than a hotel room.  Chey can give the kids a tour guide & house rules speech.  :)

Lynx

All good ideas so far, especially Bro. Papa's barbecue idea.

So if we're hanging at the city park, does that negate Petit Jean?  Or are we going to make that a day trip on Friday?

Here's what I think would be great - Arrive Thursday, hang out locally.  Friday, spend most of the day at Petit Jean.  Return to "locally" for the night.  Saturday hang out locally (and get some of Bro. Papa's barbecue to go) until we have to tear ourselves away and get home in time for a couple hours sleep before church Sunday.

I am talking to Mel at this very moment and we agree with Isaac, we are all for coming in on Thursday, we have everything arranged on our end so we will be there for sure.
We also think that the schedule that was just mentioned in the above post from Isaac will be perfect!!

Oh... at first I read that as "We are coming Thursday."  I was about to ask what if everyone else can't make it, what will you do there for a whole day?

I was just verifying for a certain friend here, that if they want to adjust the schedule, I am readily available.

Woohoo! Party in Roscoe-patrolled park! Civil disobedience in action! :bigcheese: Chey will bring me cotton candy in jail, if you throw me in the hoosecow, right?

BBQ at your place sounds great Friday evening.

I need to go back and re-read some stuff, but wherever y'all want to base out of would be ok. I'm normally not picky on motels preferring clean cold and cheap :) but I will yield to the majority will in this.

Only thing about the Thursday arrival- y'all might have to do without me for a bit that day. I'm not sure I can get off of work. Otherwise, I'm all for it, and Isaac's schedule does look good.

For what it's worth, Isaac, there are numerous flea markets in Morilton, and Conway, which is about 17 miles away , has multiple shopping opportunities for the ladies, should they so choose.

Possible cruise to Conway for the ladies- Lou knows where every thrift store in the area is-
Departure time for any that I cannot convince to move here and stay for the fun and fellowship.

At any point these may change. I usually am not a planner, preferring to do what comes to mind when it does. :laughhard:

Any and all GPer's that do not show up for said meet WILL doubtless be called and tormented, via phone, text, internet, ect mercilessly until we guilt them into showing up  for the next meet up. :thumbsup2:

And at some point, I'll start a list with definate attendees, so those of us that are getting food ect ready will have an idea of how great an army we're feeding.

Also, I think we need to work more on a definite list of people attending before we make final meal plans...if we have 20 folks showing up, but food only for 10 we might have a problem.  Cause I AINT gonna share my BBQ frito pie...

Roscoe, two thoughts:

1.  What do you MEAN Saturday breakfast to be announced?!  We already had that planned!   :pound:

2.  Thrift stores and flea markets, I'm already there.  Have your wife make out a categorical list.  They are the beat-all best places to get some good christian music.  My MO is to buy all the christian music they have, because at those prices if you only find one album you like out of every ten you still come out ahead.

Planned on pm ing you in a bit. Wanted to ensure we were still doing that, didn't want to throw you out there without your permission... :thumbsup2:

Another thing...we are driving 3 hours or so, so we need to plan accordingly for food.  And preparing food for friday night.  We will chip in, but anything we prepare will have to be prepared locally.
