We will be staying Fri & Sat.  We'll either head home Sunday morning or go to church at Roscoe's. If that's ok?
That would be great---- but we have one service on Sunday, at 5 pm, so you might not be intending on staying that late....

And kimber, if you're talking about a campsite to pitch a tent- I'll try to find out this week. Shouldn't be much though.

Well if it is in May we will not be able to make for sure. Finances and a busy schedule both work against us making it anytime in the next few months.

Can someone please answer exactly what weekend we are talking about FOR SURE?
Have you slapped that one dude from Indiana with a pie in the face today?

Uh huh.

Well whatever. Haha.

Soooo. Next question. Has anyone decided on WHERE we will stay? Who is making the first decision? Cause I expect that if someone says "I'm staying in such and such hotel" then everyone will all make plans to stay there and if some one says they are gonna get a cabin, then everyone will get cabins right? So that we are not split? Some in hotel and some in cabins?

Is anyone ready to decide what we are gonna do? Cause I'm itching to make the plans and get this thing started! (but alas, I'm not gonna make the decision!) :hypocrite:

Roscoe? What do you say? And here :great: that's for your salute to me earlier. ;)

Roscoe is the Jonny-on-the-spot.  I'll go with whatever he says and pay my share of whatever room/cabin/whatever we get.

I *think* Mellow Yellow has procured a cabin for her family. They are kinda spendy- two night stay required on weekends, and we need to get one quickly if we are going too. The website is tanyardsprings.com

Mellow Yellow, could you chime in and tell us if you have reserved one for your family? Kinda give us an idea of where to go next. I live close enough, I'll probably spend the nights in my own comfy bed- leave when everyone crashes, and be back early in the morning to eat breakfast. :P

Here is my delima.  I am ready to reserve a cabin or hotel room, whichever.  What I don't want to do is reserve one of those and then everyone else stay 30 miles away.  Wherever the majority is, is the fun and late night shenanigans.  So I am waiting for one of the natural leaders of this adventure to make a decision.  If the Porters get a cabin, I will call right NOW and reserve one too. If YOU GUYS decide that it's going to be a girls vs. boys cabin or motel rooms, I'm also ready to reserve a room under my name to get the ball rolling.

While a Harvey vacation would be lovely, we're coming to meet all you awesome people so I wanna be where the action is.  So Jeremy, Sandra or Chel need to solidify where they are going to stay and the rest will follow suit.

It sounded like Morrilton is the closest motel to Roscoe and the Park?  If so, I would think that leaning toward a hotel room there, close to Roscoe's for his Friday night suggestion, and meet at the Park early and spend all day Saturday there, also like he suggested, sounds the most logical for the group.   ???

Roscoe

Natural Leader?!?! We have one of those?!?!  :laughhard:

I talked with Bro Papa- as we get closer, we'll try to get a count of how many we will have. He said that Friday night, after he closes the BBQ stand down,  We'll have a big eatin's. We're thinking maybe a rack or two of ribs, some smoked pork, mayhap a few smoked chickens, stuff like that.... :fork:

The cabins are awesome, but as mentioned, I think they are kinda proud of them pricewise, and I know some of our peoples are gonna need to do this on the cheap. I expect that we'll wind up spending a large portion of Friday night pigging out and visiting... Morrilton is the closest, and has three hotels, with a nice new one expected to open soon- whether it'll be before May or not, I know not. Next closest would be Conway or Russellville, which as the Porters can attest, isn't really that far away.

I don't know. I guess y'all could all bring tents- I've got better than an acre here and you are welcome to sleep on the ground. I, however, shall enjoy my Serta Memory Foam. :hypocrite:

Well, I want to come but no tent for me. ;)  Not sure hubby is going to go, so if I come it will be with Chel.

Roscoe, I may have missed it and just dont feel like digging through all the pages, but where are the other places to stay there?  And did someone have prices?

Roscoe

Well, I think we can mark off Cedar Falls Motel- I posted a few ago that they were remodeling it, but it was still kinda shabby. The guy I talked to about the prices there was found dead of an apparent heroin overdose this weekend, so I'd mark that one off the list.  :biglaugh: Thinking out loud here....

Tanyard Springs cabins- around $175 a night with a two night stay required, They will house six or more people, so if someone wanted to do that the cost could be split between several and not be so bad.

The Park's cabins are sold out.
Mather Lodge MAY be done in time for the meet, but probably not. I think they're shooting for Car Show week opening.

There are the primative campgrounds if someone likes to rough it in a tent.

Otherwise, the motels in Conway, Morrilton, and Russellville would be the only options. Morrilton has three motels- Super 8, Days' Inn, and Scottish Inn-  with a nice new hotel being built now. I don't know the projected opening date of it, though.
And of course there is the option of my yard. I'll even mow it thursday, just for you.  :laughhard:

Gimme an outlet to plug in and blow up my air mattress and I'll be fine wherever you stick me.

Tanyard Springs... Two night's stay required is too bad.  For $175 a night that would come out to less than $30 per person per night, but almost nobody will be around to use that second night.

I vote for Day's Inn, get four rooms across the hall from each other, and prop the doors open at all times unless someone is getting dressed.   And be nice and move if some stranger that's not in our group wants to get through the suddenly commandeered hall.  ;)

Of course if we really want to do this right... we could do Thursday and Friday night. :D

Just a thought, but one that should be thought of somewhere around this early so we can scheme... er, plan.

And Roscoe, good doghouse comeback.  I couldn't guess what you were going to reply on that one, but I couldn't wait to find out.  I haven't even met you yet and you already remind me a lot of my uncle Fred.  :biglaugh:
