Howdy y'all.

Yes, I just now got up.  I was up late last night this morning looking up specs on something I might buy.

Burned trash.

Eating a refried bean bowl....don't have any tomatoes so that takes away from the essence of it....no spinach/lettuce either....  But....poor people have poor ways.  Lord, oh lord, do we ever have poor ways.

Had several things happen this week that made me want to hold my loved ones a little tighter, and make sure I tell them that I love them. Life is so... fragile. And can be thrown into absolute chaos in the blink of an eye.

*pondering*

G'morning, all my lovely friends. :) If I haven't mentioned it lately, I'm grateful to God for putting GPers into my life. :)

As the Word clearly says to confess your faults one to another-I CONFESS, I AM WEAK. For those that I have not rubbed it in via text to- a coworker brought a huge pot of Cajun-style duck gumbo. I have foundered myself. Dat stuff is some good, whatchu talkin' bout! :fork: So much for the salad last night, it is but a bad memory.  :laughhard:

As one who sits at his computer with a bowl of homemade chili and some homemade lime cheesecake... I rejoice with you my brother.  :D  The local fast food factories can put their burgers and fries in a landfill.

Duck gumbo sounds good! I love Duck!

*HUGS* Ruby. I appreciate you and your friendship. It has meant the world to me!

PF, I'm doing a LOT better. I'm still sad, but I'm not crying rivers today. My headache is still a dull pain, but bearable. I removed Ebonis litter box yesterday, but haven't moved her toys or food dish yet. That may take a few more days.

God is still so very good to me. This I cannot forget.

I put a pork roast in the crock pot yesterday, about 4, and it's been in there till about an hour ago, now I have it in a roasting pan with carrots, potatoes, celery, tomatoes and onion, and it's on 250 till dinner time. :fork:

Gonna be a good supper tonight.

I don't care what people say about animals...they are family. There is a reason dogs get called "mans best friend".

When our family dog Buster died last year...I was in St. Louis...Mom put him to sleep, and when I got home, I just cried and cried. His little feet didn't pitter patter across the hardwood floor. His glazed over eyes (he was very old and sickly) didn't come look up at me. I was a mess for a week. I'm pretty sure I cried for a week!

But then we finally got new babies to soothe the pain...and oh how I love them so.

I don't know if I'm ready for another pet. There is a void, but I don't think I can get another one for awhile.

And, I've made the decision...I'm gonna go dig a hole in the back yard, then go get her. I haven't been able to stand the fact that she isn't buried. I need to go get her and take care of her. That's the least I can do out of respect to my sweet baby kitty.

We have a big rock (like the size of a tire almost) that covers the spot in the backyard where Buster is buried. Over by the fence in the sun, one of his favorite places to run!

Well...she is gone. I dug the hole, and went up the road to bring her back and she isn't there anymore. I guess it's just as well.

Hmmm... when you have a bowl of reheated chili in the microwave and you stick your finger in it to see how hot it is, you need to remember two things:

1 - You deserve whatever you get.  That's a really stupid thing to do.

2 - Sticking your finger in the chili will only tell you how warm it is as far as temperature.   You still don't know anything about how much cayenne it has.

I've already forewarned Brandon if anything happens to Topher (my cat) or Whiskey (my dog) that I'll either bury them at his house or I'm having them cremated. Since I live in the city and this isn't my property I can't bury them here. His dads house sits on Henson family property (complete with a family cemetery). I couldn't stand the throughtnof them just being taken to the dump.

It's my day off. And I refuse to spend it doing laundry at my moms. Brandon took my work clothes to wash at his house and I'm spending a much needed day just chilling out reading.

Sorry, you have exceeded your quota for that smiley this year.  No more using it until next year.  A complaint has been filed because you don't leave any :reaction: for anyone else to use.

Awww, my Garfield clock is dying!

I bought that grinning orange and black-striped head about 17 years ago at an auction for $5.  I was the only bidder.  It has come along through multiple relocations.  It has no radio, no CD player... it's just a plain old clock.  And it has been more dependable than any of these fancy radio/clocks I've ever seen.  But now the buttons for setting time and alarm are worn out.

I'm gonna miss this thing... :/

When I can lift again in a couple weeks, I have a LOT of lifting to do...good grief.

I'm afraid to ask what it says about me... but... I think it's cool!  I mean, I know it's just photoshopped, but I think a house - err, house complex - like that one would be pretty nifty. Imagine!... "Go to your room!"... and there wouldn't be any hollering back and forth across the hallway, which would completely eliminate the whole "Be quiet!" thing.

Okay, it's official. I need more coffee. My brain isn't functioning properly.

I don't think that's photoshopped. I'm pretty sure some redneck somewhere deep in the heart of Texas has a "complex" of these ghetto looking trailers full of buck-toothed neighbors. lol

I've seen similar and worse! haha

Salads just don't hold the same pizazz that they used to.  And this lettuce will probably just give me the scours.  :smirk2:
