What do guest read?

I think it's cause a spam server just got a new IP range and they're free to spam until they get blocked again.  I've been seeing a reoccurrence of spam today.   I have a couple of acquaintances on yahoo who seem to have been hacked lately, because they both keep spewing the same *exact* lines about how I should take this online IQ test.  It gets kind of creepy when someone who's supposed to be a guy (or at least he was last time I saw him) says something like "I'm gonna go take a shower.  You take that test and I'll check how you did after I've freshened up a bit lol"

I hate, I hate, I HATE spambots!  Some enterprising young programmers really need to have their own computers smashed over their heads.  Or have a social call from a competent hit man.

I had a friend that did the exact same thing.  I was glad it was that certain friend, cause I KNEW it had to be a virus since I hadn't talked to her in ages.

I have an acquaintance who is a tech support for a college, he was working on a student's computer that had been infected and made into a zombie spam-spewer.  He said when he connected to the internet with it, it flooded the connection with 5000 emails in one minute, then the internet server automatically kicked it off.  Hmmm, no wonder the student could never maintain a connection...

What is really odd is that some guests are printing off topics.  Some are odd ones to print out.

Is there a way to make GP a private board?  Where you cant see what is posted unless you are a registered member?

Seriously though.  I think it'd be different if most of them weren't those spam bugs or whatever they're called.  It does make me think, people can use it just for fodder.

About three days ago, just out of curiosity, I looked at what everyone on the forum is looking at.  A whole lot of guests seemed to be all reading the Sharing 413 thread all at the same time.  I wish I'd copied the screen so you could see it.

Could most of the "guests" be explained by search engines?  Someone looks for "facebook" on google, and the search engine find a name match on sharing...and it shows up as a guest...at least thats what someone explained at some point.

yes you did miss something.

But most of the stuff being printed off was just weird bizarre stuff, nothing really that interesting. No recipes, poems or anything like that.
