I'm quite fond of black-style music myself...about 60% of our church is black, and all the musicians except one drummer is black. Plus half our singers. Kimber and I might as well be black too...we can sing like them if we want...so can Livis parents...so that leaves TWO people on our platform besides one drummer and Pastor who is white.

Loooove me some black folks! Fo. Sho.

*Like* lol April says I'm her black and she's my white....rofl.....

I have 1,410 songs in my iTunes playlist....of which probably 300 are "white" music. lol I'm a black gospeler.

Although this week I'm seriously into Leeland...they are so soulful sounding...it's calming.

hard to get a good christian radio staion around here unless it's black choir music style, which I abhor.

I think we are twin brothers.  I abhor choir music.

I don't mind choir music but I hate the repetitiveness that black gospel music is into.

Me TOO!  Plus they sing like their mouth is full of marbles and their tail is on fire...lol  I dont hear well enough to understand it.
You people are listening to the wrong black choirs...  just like every other style, there is some good, some bad and some that are just in it to make another album.

In other news:  Howdy y'all!  Great day today.  Got my hair razed (1/8 inch, do it every summer for ventilation.)  At work one of the furnace lines was down, the other was running '8012's and I would have been bored out of my skull... but fortunately they put someone else on the catching end and put me at a real job where I could DO something.  I can waste time as well as the next guy but when I'm on the clock for some reason I get antsy when I stand around doing nothing, even if that's what I'm supposed to do.

And for the record, knowing there is a bowl of homemade apricot cheesecake pudding waiting for you at home can make the day go by so much easier.  :)

Had a dream where I met Roscoe.  Everyone he knew called him Johnny.  I couldn't figure out how everyone got Johnny from Robert.  LOL

Lol.  I was so waiting on you to comment Jenn lol.  I thought of you the entire time I was reading it haha.

I HATE most black gospel music and I'm black! lol.  Mostly b/ c of the reasons already stated. Now, there are some exceptions.  I love Shekinah Glory, Fred Hammond, Cece Winans (which, she is more contemporary to me), and, a lot, not of all Kirk Franklin (Jenn!!!!!!! where my cd's guh?) I despise the choirs and hate the quartets even more :)

Mel! I love you too!!!!!!

Mel and Jenn, Tea is most def out of church.  Not sure about his wife. I've heard some things but I don't really know them like that to put their business out there ya know? I will ask about Aleta and let you guys know though.

I think my ADHD kicks in after someone repeats a word or phrase for 1500 times.  *shudders*

Honestly, I detest choir music as a whole.  Again, its probably me.  I tend to loose the meaning of the song in the sound of the choir.  It sounds like a roar to me, and I detest it.  But then again, give me 3 or 4 folks, playing guitars, bass, and some drums, and make it a little rocky and I dont mind it.  Southern Gospel is really iffy.  I know a young man who is up and coming in the Southern Gospel ranks around here, and hes pretty good.  (http://www.jeremyhartmusic.com/)

Then again, I judge most music off their ability to compare with Ray Stevens....
