Waiting on J to get out of a meeting. Them to his gparents to eat corn chowder. I'm starving!! Haha.. I already ate the Twix in my purse and some caramel bites haha

Nelle

Oh. And prayers would be appreciated haha. Apparently J's uncle (his pastor) always asks guests to testify. I'm terrified. I hate public speaking like that, hahaha. Service is at 1:30!

You'll be fine.  Just speak slowly and clearly and don't get all tongue tied and say something like "I thank the Lord I have soap in my hole."

Went to church, came home.  How do you tell if a room full of kids is actually listening?  I don't think anyone got anything out of today.
"Do you sing at church?"
"Yes I sing at church, I sing at home, at work, in the car, at the supermarket, at Wal-Mart..."
:sing: :sing: :sing: :sing: :sing: :sing:

the way you can tell is when they come up to you a year later and ask you about what you said. There is no way to tell immediately most of the time... I am one of the best at pretending like I dont hear what's being preached at times...
  :attackhug: Be full of hugs!

True Chel.  At least on the not telling if they're listening part but them recalling it later.....

I need to go do something productive, but I'm having fun stalking people on the county website that shows everybody's property and houses...lol

To odd people, normal people seem odd.

Speaking of odd, there's Tootie.  :P

So how did you fare, Mexican Food Stuff?

taco_harvell

Well teaching went well, worship service using canned music went fairly well and my sermon was going okay till I had to stop and tell a 12 year old boy who was visiting to sit down after he crawled under the pew of a couple of people who are regular visitors. People kind of lost focus after that. If you are going to bring children to church you should also take responsibility for them and make them behave not leave it up to the minister while he is trying to preach. Just sayin.

Well apparently it went better than I thought. Got a very encouraging phone call from a sister in our church.

You just need to polish up on your finesse about the way you worked the rebuking into your sermon...lol  Make it flow better. ;)

"Going somewhere means leaving somewhere. Choosing something means choosing against other things. Gaining something means losing something else. And between the old and new--the 'was' and the 'not yet'--there exists only one thing: a very frightening journey called faith."

:hi:

Hello peoples.

:highfive:

Wow is all I can say! We serve a mighty and awesome God! My first day in northern Texas and I found a homeless family that has been sleeping in the park for 6 months now. Got to talk with them, share something to eat with them and pray with them.

Tomorrow for lunch I get to teach them a bible study, then praying they will go to meet some of the people at a local church for prayer meeting and fellowship!

i am pumped!
Religion is worthless until it is able to move outside the walls.
