Will return after I think about this one.

I will post my list one at a time as I think of them.

1. Daystar

This has been my favorite song for many years. It has also been my prayer for many years. I think that's why I like it so much it is a wonderful prayer set to music.

2. Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)

I have always loved Amazing Grace but the added chorus just made it better to me. The number one thing I love about this song though is he sings my 2 favorite verses of Amazing Grace that hardly anyone sings.

The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow
The sun forbear to shine
But God, Who called me here below
Will be forever mine
Will be forever mine
You are forever mine

Lisa Gungor's "Wrap Me in Your Arms" is probably my current #1 choice.

1. Call Me Gone (Kenny Hinson)

3. Two Winning Hands (Kenny Hinson)  :biglaugh:
4. Mercy Came Running (Phillips, Craig, And Dean) - wow, not a Hinson song. :laughhard:

And bonus favorites:
6. Amazing Grace
7. Lily in My Valley (Quinton Mills)
8.  Almost any Mike Bowling song.
9. Almost any country gospel song- meaning country as in "honky-tonk" sound, NOT the "Chuckwagon Gang " sound. :laughhard:

I have 3,735 songs (plus some in editing stage, haven't been added to main bank yet), in all different styles from old gospel, through country gospel and southern gospel, choir, black choir, contemporary choir, contemporary christian... and you want me to pick FIVE songs?!

I was driving home one Friday
When commotion caught my ear
In a field a crowd had gathered
I could hear them yell and cheer
"Why is everyone excited?"
I asked a certain man
He said "There ain't no better reason
We're all football fans!"

Then I drove a little further
And I saw another crowd
They were dancing, they were singing
I heard music playing loud
I asked again, "Why get excited?
I just don't understand"
Someone said, "Man you're not with it
We're just rock music fans!"

So I went to church that Sunday
And I heard the preacher say
"Jesus gave His life to save us
And He's coming back one day"
Well I started getting happy
How I shouted, how I cried
Someone said "Don't get all excited"
Oh but this was my reply...

I'm a Jesus fan
I'm a Jesus fan
When I think about His mercy
Then I've got to lift my hands
So now if you hear me shouting
You'll just have to understand
I can't help but get excited
I'm a Jesus fan
"Do you sing at church?"
"Yes I sing at church, I sing at home, at work, in the car, at the supermarket, at Wal-Mart..."
:sing: :sing: :sing: :sing: :sing: :sing:

As well as many of the songs by Fred Hammond and Kirk Franklin, and some by Tye Tribbett, Donnie McClurkin and Kurt Carr. :)
When you say "Jesus" you've said everything.

  • Who Am I - Casting Crowns
  • Your Love Is Extravagant - Casting Crowns
  • Praise You In This Storm - Casting Crowns
  • I'll Never Be Over the Hill - the Hinsons
  • East to West - Casting Crowns

Not necessarily in that order, mind you.

Does anyone see a pattern emerging?  I love Casting Crowns and it's hard to pick just one of theirs.  Maybe I should have said, "Anything by Casting Crowns"...then listed four other songs...  ???
