So what defines a "real date" exactly?

The guy asks a girl to go somewhere with him, and he pays for everything.

hi all I'm new here!! I hope everyone is doing good?! I would say 1,4,7,8.. but your missing an option, when i guy asks you out and you both go dutch.. this guy I like, we hang out as friends I guess, but sometimes theres flirting and we usually go dutch.  4 instance we'll go to a movie, then eat out.... and go dutch.  I know he doesnt have  job at the moment so that could be why too?  It's hard being able to tell the difference between dates/hang outs sometimes isnt it!? Alright! Bye

YooperYankDude

So if a guy and a girl are an established item, and they go out to eat with a group of friends, but it isn't a date... Should the fellow feel obligated to pay for her dinner... ? It isn't a "date"... Just happens that you two are out with the same people...

Thoughts???

Lynx

Don't ask me man, I've never been on a date in my life.  No I'm not kidding.
"Do you sing at church?"
"Yes I sing at church, I sing at home, at work, in the car, at the supermarket, at Wal-Mart..."

Yoop, I hate to do this to ya, brother but..... in my experience, yes, the lady considers that a "date" thus obligating you. :biglaugh: And as you know, the lady's perspective is the only one that matters. :laughhard:

Seriously, I always wondered that, too, but had no one to ask. I always paid to keep from looking like a cheapskate. :laughhard:

Haha... Yes, obviously spoken by a lady! LOL

I did end up paying in the end, but it was extremely awkward and embarrassing, I got guilt tripped into it by the other guys (she had no idea... it came up when she went on the Girls group fieldtrip to the bathroom... LOL) I didn't consider it a date... dates I have no issues paying for, and I usually pay for those who are nice enough to accompany us on them as well... or at least part of their meal.  But this was just a bunch of friends going out to eat before a concert...    :-\

Have I ever mentioned on this forum that my views concerning matchmakers have a lot to do with proper use of a flamethrower?  I'm sure I have...

Hmmm... No denial of interest by Tina... Therefore we should follow the words of instruction in John 31:8-99 (definitely a paraphrase...). "if a match has been suggested, and thou hearest no denial of interest in the match... Thou hast matched well... So it is written, let it be done."

And "whatsoever thou doest, do quickly"

So... :-)

Well I've never seen boys make such a fuss over matchmaking.  You all are pratically giddy.. lol

And yet, like boys, you managed to include fire, throwing, gun shooting, & blowing things up.

I'll help with blowing some things up! Lol

Touche.

But five-oh, wouldn't blowing stuff up kind of ruin the whole mood you're trying to set for matchmaking?

Nope... Just an outward sign of the inward fireworks you two feel for eachother! Lol

If we get to blow up things, we'll forget matchmaking for a bit. Things that go "Boom" are always more  entertaining - unless they've got an angry woman on the pointing side. :laughhard:

Honestly once people are matched themselves - they become yentas.

Actually... that's not as much of a j/k as some would claim.

I think it has to do with a surplus of time, energy and attention.  Many seem to have a strong drive to find that special someone NOW!  Once they do, all that energy is diverted into finding other people their special someone.  There is a cure though, or at least a method to dissuade them from meddling in your life.  It's very simple really.  Beat all the energy out of them through their heads.   :pound:

And efficient and cathartic.

Actually, I don't get involved with matchmaking. I have a little fun harassing folks here, but that's about it. I wish that everyone could find the happiness that I have found through having my wife at my side, but I understand happiness comes in different ways for some folks. Whereas myself, Mini and a couple others here would be in a state of Ecstasy to find a Duesenburg or a Corvette in our possession, it would probably do nothing for Isaac. Like wise, his latest computer/interface/infernal contraption would do nothing for me.

I'm sure that relationships are the same way. Speaking as someone who was 27 years old before the words "meaningful" and "relationship" could be used together in reference to my life, I understand that one can be happy alone.
As for me- I'm really thankful for my beautiful, godly wife.  :thumbsup2:

Oh- by the way, it's nice to see you two can come together on a common goal. Working together like that, even in a pounding of the common enemy, bodes well for a healthy relationship.  :laughhard:
