1 what is, or was the greatest success in the ministry you have ever witnessed first hand.

2 what is, or was the greatest success in the ministry you have ever witnessed first hand where God was directly using you.

1 what is, or was the greatest success in the ministry you have ever witnessed first hand.

Hard to pick just one.

Soul Winners Boot Camp last year with 580 visitors, 50 baptized, 80 odd getting the Holy Ghost - prayer march down town Minneapolis at bar closing time.  That is pretty hard to top.

Watching family come in off bus ministry and the dad becomes a pastor and a son a missionary.. that was awesome

Watching this church grow in 10 years from the Pastor and his wife, my wife and kids to over 100 in each service today, many times with 130 to 160 people. A fantastic building and expecting 500 to 1,200 for an African ministry conference next week. That is exciting.

Watching Matt Maddix or Travis Worthington conduct an altar service....watching their Mentors Billy Cole and Jack Cunningham doing the  same thing.. its awesome to watch 3 generations praying people through.....

Again hard to pick just one:

It is a ''wow'' moment to pray for someone on crutches and they carry the crutches away, to baptize a man with cancer and he gets healed was he comes out of the water or to baptize 30 people at boot camp.

It was wonderful to preach a general conference in Africa

From age 15 to age 26 working bus ministry and filling 6 buses and 3 vans during that time frame.

Helping teach a bus ministry seminar at age 17

Praying with drunks and watching God sober them up in the altar...

Praying people through to the Holy Ghost

Teaching a new converts class and then watching that New Convert grow into a soul winner

There was a time that Sis and I worked the altars together at a Holy Ghost Crusade... we had fun praying with people.

 :thumbsup2:   Awesome!!

did you struggle with your calling at first? nervous? were people critical of your calling?

reason i ask is that i seem to be going this rout. people are critical of my calling and adds to the Moses syndrome i seem to have. i am the nervous sort as well as not being a scholar or wordsmith. i do ok on line but not in public, or at least not in a formal setting. at times the pastor at my church has called on me to sing and nerves seem to bind my tongue. then theres the accent. that good ole southern, redneck draw. i sound to southern to be southern. ( not in the hollywood sense of southern language!) of course i don't sound like any character from "gone with the wind". that would be an improvement.

Yes because I didn't want to do it. I had plans to be a paramedic with the local sheriffs department.  I had a black belt to earn, a karate tournament in New Orleans to win, some killer moves that were advanced in my bracket - I came into this with some judo and jujitsu training that I had adapted to my style. I had a killer sweep that looked like a missed punch with a off balance sweep that slammed you to the floor for a loss of points and a gain for me.

But God had other ideas........

Quotereason i ask is that i seem to be going this rout. people are critical of my calling and adds to the Moses syndrome i seem to have.

I put God to the test, I told him that if he called me, put me where I can accept that call without worries. A few weeks later I was transferred out of state to a brand new church. I accepted my calling.

So what....  my family are redneck Ozark Hillbillies and Ridge runnin' moonshinin' bar room brawlin' red necks from the hills, hollers and mountains called Blue Ridge.

I have a stutter and stammer at times, there are days in which I'd love to know my 1st language, 'cuz it sho' ain't English.

When I am around Southerners, I start talking like them, when around yankees I talk like them . ....sometimes.  There are times that I find my self using southern phrases and even using the hick accent.  *shrug* so what.

If God is calling YOU, he wants YOU for a reason, and YOU are what YOU are.  You cannot be someone else.

So you pray and ask God to take the nerves away, challenge him. If he has called you, he needs to take the nerves away when you speak. I did it and guess what, I don't have nerves in front of large groups anymore.

Why is it that people say they "slept like a baby" when babies wake up like every two hours?
