Question to ask a nurse...

Can frying stuff in grease, (french fries, chicken strips, corn nuggetts...LOTS of other stuff) for 8 hours every day, make you have heartburn all night long even if you dont EAT the greasy food?

I know I SMELL like the grease when I get off work, but since I have moved positions at work, I have had continual heartburn. And I dont eat much of the stuff I am cooking. In fact, I eat LESS of it now than I did before, cause I am sick of looking at it cause I cook it all day. But the heartburn is especially bad at night, and I wake up, eat some Tums, go to sleep, wake up, eat Tums, go to sleep....at least twice or three times a night.

Any suggestions?

yes. it can.

get an over the counter acid reducer like pepcid (famotidine). They are once a day and last a lot longer than the tums every 2 hrs. actually i think they are supposed to last 24 hrs, and they do for me.
