Newsman

At church last evening, one of the girls (10ish) that sometimes wants a hug was there, and I made a point to tell her how pretty she looked. Her mother died about a month ago, so the family is going through a lot right now.

Was talking to a woman and her daughter at the Post Office Sunday, the woman knew me but I couldn't place her. her daughter (10ish) got the door for us..that wouldn't do, so I grabbed the door and had the girl go on in before me, too.

Had one, and I actually think two, women completely ignore me in the last few days, as they walked through the door I held open for them. But, that's the exception, rather than the rule.

Lady SippinTea has mentioned once that guys who open the door for her get her best smile (although that was before she met someOne that may now be receiving her "best" smiles) However, I got one of those 'best smile' type responses when I stayed long enough to look odd (hey, I indeed am odd,) in holding the door open for a woman at about 5:45 the other morning at a convenience store.

Children..bah, humbug!
