Ruby likes off-the-wall STUFF and off-the-wall PEOPLE!!!

Well, I don't know if Ben was copying my dad because I liked what he did for my mom when THEY were long distance dating or what, but one day I went to the mailbox and found a box with a tiny little potted cactus. It was SO CUTE! And, it lasted a LOT longer than flowers would've, and had more personality in my opinion! I really liked keeping the tradition alive just because it was funky too.

My boyfriend lives in the same town as Okie, Minnie, and Chelle... It's about 3 hours from my home, which is far enough!! But I'll be moving closer to him soon. Not just for him, but for a better job.  ;)

I'm sure the "Carrier Pigeons" would be glad to deliver your messages... maybe they would sing them. ;)

:searching: Who said I needed any messages delivered? I just said I like off the wall stuff.

Yall have a lot more options now than we did.  We didn't have cell phones, text messaging, IM or email.  At least we had telephones. ;)

Lol. Yep. I actually lived in the same town as him for a 1 1/2 years. I lived with his aunt, uncle, and cousin. I had to move back home though because my little sis was gonna have surgery. I seen his kids more then him. Lol.

I know you'll enjoy that! While we were dating I got to see Ben about once a month in person because of the eight hour trip.

Sis

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time ago I was in a long distance relationship with someone from Canada. A five hour drive. He came down every weekend. I was working so I didn't have time to miss him too much during the week. He called every night, though. LOL

I wish I could see Ralph every weekend... We both work during the week and he races horses on Sundays so it's hard to meet up when he's 3 hrs away.

RainbowJingles

Yeah.  I wish I could see *my* boyfriend every weekend, too.

*sappy sigh*

lol

Sis

So where is yours, RB?  With Vince's red-haired girl?   :laughhard:

RainbowJingles

:o  I dunno, Sis!  I just wish he'd hurry up and get here, wherEVER he happens to be!!

Amelia Bedelia

move, or
get a different guy

I think my sil & bro only saw each other 3 times in rl visits before they got married - week or two each visit I think

they talked on the phone from 12:00am fri morn to 11:59 fri night (free calling fridays) for like a year, then he finally met her and her family, she came and met us and he proposed, 6 months later met again for wedding

I kinda figure if you're ready and know what you're looking for its not that hard to tell if you've found it - if you know you can get along for a week its probably more efficient to go pray like crazy and then do something about it rather than worry about more follow up interviews.

MelodyB

Mom and Dad only saw each other 4 times before they got married. 2-3 day trips each time. It works. :)
Have you slapped that one dude from Indiana with a pie in the face today?

iridiscente

Yeah, it may not be a way I'd RECOMMEND... but I do know that it works!

Creative Long Distance Relationship Communication Tactics

First:
Find a man.

Second:
Ummm...  I think I need a little help on step one before I try to figure out how to communicate with him!

SippinTea

Maybe step one should be: Find a man who CAN communicate. In which case, step two should take care of itself. ;)

:beret:
"Going somewhere means leaving somewhere. Choosing something means choosing against other things. Gaining something means losing something else. And between the old and new--the 'was' and the 'not yet'--there exists only one thing: a very frightening journey called faith."

RainbowJingles

*revises her list*

Step One
Find a man who can communicate

Step Two
Will take care of itself

Step Three
Hey, RUBY!!!  I STILL have to work on step one!!!

SippinTea

*laugh*
*thinks of men to introduce Elona to*
*wonders how soon she could manufacture an excuse to introduce them*

RainbowJingles

Manufacture?!?!?!?!?!

lol  Who needs to wait for an excuse to be manufactured?  Do you know how long the manufacturing process can TAKE!?!?!?!

SippinTea

Manufacture an _excuse_ Elona. Not manufacture the guy. ;) And contrary to popular female opinion... there are indeed men who can, and do, communicate. *grin*
