That's prezactly why I won't get in water above my waist, Tricia. I've had that done.

It didn't work.

I stepped off a ledge type thing in a river and fell/walked into deep deep water.  Now I panic if water gets too high on me.

sunlight

ohh... i did that too Wired... and i totally feaked out for a full 5 seconds... my mom was about to jump in and grab me when i figured out how to doggie paddle and saved her from getting wet! that is totally terrifying! especially when you are younger like i was!

I think I was 9.  I went under many many times and when I finally got my foot on a log or something and got above water my uncle had jumped in and my dad was on the verge of it...lol

This summer--Im 28--I let my husband take me out in water that was above my head.  I was on his back though piggy back style...lol  (he's 6'1--Im 5'3)  It was a total trust issue though.  I was scared but  he talked me into it.

I"ve always been afraid of water.  water up to my waist is about as deep as I'll go and thats only in calm water like a pool would have.  My fear of water is one of the things I had to deal with when I got baptized.

sunlight

yeah. My dad is still deathly scare of water... and as a result, we wernt allowed to be around it much...

I grew up in a home that didn't allow us to do any swimming stuff so I never learned to swim and never felt safe around water because of it.

Sis

My mother was terrified of water over her head. We never knew if my dad COULD swim or not. He just never went into the water. My mother made sure my brother and I could handle ourselves in the water because she was too afraid to come and get us if we got into trouble, so she got us lessons at the Y as soon as they would take us. I think I was four or five when I got lessons. I love the water. I have stories about swimming in pools, though.

MelodyB

Have you ever heard the song titled "One More Day" by Diamond Rio?
Does it remind you of your time in Indy and any other time that you spend with your best friends, whether it's on the phone or in person?
