Tall concrete structures

Man's grand imaginations

Lack small stream's beauty

Ya sure got that right! :-?

Thanks, Brannon..I was recently at an ornately uncmfortable luxurious hotel in a metro area..large ane ornate enough to have a fake stream including live fish moving through it..it was indeed nice..but it does not match the life you find in a small pool in the rocky road you travel off the beaten path.

Yep! That haiku is a perfect example of the ideas/feelings I try to capture in a lot of my poetry. :teeth:

Golden flowers stand

On green swath beside the blue

Where land, water meet

Both of those were terrific, but this one is my favorite:

Love it for several reasons--one of which is that it reminds me of a specific time and place. One spring my family and I went camping up in the Ochoco Mountains and hiked up this little valley. Waaay up the hillside (with wildflowers everywhere) was this this crystal clear pool that was completely breathtaking.

I think it was on the same trip that we wandered up what we thought was an old logging road, and discovered an old coal-miner's shack.

Does that ever bring back memories! :)

There's one other reason (that is a tad more personal) for why I love that haiku, too,. *smile*
