I, myself, need some good ideas for things to do with the boyfriend..

So, I figured..why not change that boyfriend to spouse and put this in the "marrieds" section? :)

Have at it. ;)

sunlight

why not?

cause you can do different things when you are married than when you are dating... lol. Thats why not. haha, you might get some suggestions that are for married people, and not single people like us gals...
  :attackhug: Be full of hugs!

kkay

Well, the suggestions I'm looking for are things like..walking in the park, candlelit dinners, etc. and not "take the children to the park, go over our finances, pay bills, etc." ha ha

;)

BOL!  It's usually LESS when you're married. Especially if you have kids.

Mini golf is fun, especially when you're traveling and the stores close at 9 and you're still wide awake.

Stevebert tolerates trips to the mall, not his favorite thing.

Taking a walk down the walking path.

Walking to McDonald's, getting a salad for a reward and walking back home (One mile each way)

Biking, or Stevebert riding his bike while I rollerblade. Still want him to let me attach a tow rope so I can sidewalk surf!  :laughhard:

Take mini trips to nearby cities. We're close to Baltimore, love to go to the docks. There's a great mall there.

See museums around here. Most are free. LOL  Love the Spy Museum.

Go into Washington on Kite day and look at the Chinese cherry blooms and the kites. and walk from the Mall to the Jefferson Memorial.

Hiking

Picnic

Go to the beach during off times and walk along the water, or if it's warm enough, in the water.

Go to a local ball game and meet some of your neighbors, if they go. LOL

Local outdoor concerts

That's the sort of things we do, can't think of any more at the moment.

kkay

I like taking trips to nearby cities. Detroit isn't too far from where Taurean lives, so we've been there a couple times. It's so beautiful at night!

Maybe I should surprise him for V-Day by taking him there and actually NOT getting lost ha ha

God determines who walks into your life....it's up to you to decide who you let walk away, who you let stay, and who you refuse to let go.

Detroit is just across the river from Windsor Canada. It's a fun trip.

Sister_Mom

How about talking? I enjoy long conversations about anything and everything with my best friend.  :thumbsup2:

Sis

It's more fun to talk while you're walking. No phones, no kids, nothing but a few bikes or bladers.

myhaloisintheshop

oh I LOVE just the quiet times where we sit/cuddle and talk.

One of our favorite things to do is try new restaurants/foods

MelodyB

I vote for talking....I just dont have a guy to talk with. *cough*  (did I just say that?)
Have you slapped that one dude from Indiana with a pie in the face today?

sunlight

or all of the above... i would go for walking or biking or rollerblading or walking in water or any of it... but alas, no guy.
* sunlight starts singing 'ohh what a day that will be...'' lol, but i can wait though. I like being able to hop up and go to Guatemala when the opportunity arises like i am this week! I am so excited you guys!

Sis

Well, I'm not above taking a walk with a Girl friend, either. Or blading.  I used to go blading with the girls from church back home.

"Fun activities to do with your spouse"
ooooh boy do I have some ideas for this one!!!  :freaky2:

But since we're putting a big cap of limitations on it and pulling it back down to boyfriend status I'll refrain from those ideas...  :hypocrite:
hmmm so besides kissing...

well lets see, last weekend I really enjoyed just being snuggled up watching a movie and then remaining snuggled up talking for a couple hours... ahhhhh so nice

when the weather is awful: playing cards/boardgames/video games/pillow fights/cooking - (just think carefully about which jobs you let him attempt... LOL) i'm one to be constantly finding something silly like playing a game of slaps or simultaneous thumb wars at random moments (try coordinating both hands... my left wins, my right loses... or is it the other way around... anyway) reading - usually something silly that is easily shared like The Onion paper(or website LOL) and this year gives you added activities of being able to watch presidential debates and discuss politics and how you can change the world together LOL

For a sample of The Onion read this fabulous and pertinent "article"  http://www.theonion.com/content/news/local_girlfriend_always_wants_to  LOL

evenings out - well I get to hit the best city in the world - free comedy shows, independent film theaters, go listen to a jazz band, hit dinner at a latin restaurant with a latin band and attempt to salsa dance LOL, or go to a nearby city that has a small and cute downtown area and walk around looking at used books and real estate listings or whatever the shop windows present you and just stroll, hold hands and talk or enjoy the silence, museums (there are fun, hands on kid ones if he's not into looking at art silently lol)

check your local listings for activities and just keep an eye on what is going on

Yes, you did. And why does your answer not surprise me? ;)

sunlight

hey sis... wanna go blading? or walking?
  :attackhug: Be full of hugs!

Sis

Well, it's kinda cold out, so maybe get a bit more heat going if we go blading.

sunlight

you can come here, its about 65 out here in the dead of night... and thats only cause it rained today. it was warmer earlier, and sligtly windy! it was awesome! i wish i had a hammock so bad!
  :attackhug: Be full of hugs!

Sis

Where are you again? Any lakes nearby? We could go looking for smoochin' couples near the water and throw sand at them.

sunlight

ohhhh, now thats an idea! lol. there are a few at the university here... not sure there would be any at it yet though, its still a bit cold for that right? and there are a few souther... like the gulf... hmmm.

If you live in the Redneck Rivera like myself and wife you can go hunting or fishing or just riding on the river or just a hike through the woods. . .

Depends on what you and your spouse enjoy.  There's one couple in our church that collects coins and stamps together.  For me that would be mind-numbingly boring.  After about ten minutes of that I would probably cease to exist as a sentient being.  But, my wife and I enjoy museums, parks, etc etc.  We've gone to the aquarium in New Orleans several times together.  A couple months ago we went to the exhibit on the human body (with real preserved bodies) at a place in Mobile.   That was fun.  Course, there are things I like that my wife doesn't get, so we make room for each other in those areas.
Sow an action, reap a habit; sow a habit, reap a character; sow a character, reap a destiny.

Melody

not to sound goofy spiritual but we do like to go help at the church with stuff.  There are events and maintenance/cleaning to be done.  Sound weird?  Not if you really like working for the Lord!  How about witnessing together?

Good point, MY!

Some other things (Mary's already covered everything pretty well, though!) are tourist-y attractions, picnics at the park, kite flying, museums, concerts, comedy clubs, drive-in movies (not every place has these, so you'd have to check), dance lessons (community places like the YMCA often offer these for cheap!), sports games (can be cheap, especially for students), new ethnic foods, even 'treasure hunting' at rummage/thrift places..
