In reply to MY.. there does seem to be quite the evidence that the people from Arkansas on here ARE short, haha.. but we definitely aren't all bald thankfully! :) Thankfully.. we ALSO have taller people than those of us on here, haha.

In my opinion, it's a waste of money to go to Starbucks and not get hyped up on caffeine! They want too much for their drinks for me to lose money on decaf...give me the REAL stuff, and add a triple shot of expresso...let's do it RIGHT!

Just me.

I'm in WM. dad and I are out paying bills and such. I'm _almost_ better today. If this coughing would go away, I'd be closer to normal. :smirk2:

MelodyB:  I feel the same way about coffee in general.  I don't drink the stuff unless it's a dire necessity, but if I do have to resort to it let it be STRONG!  If I'm gonna have to stomach the junk, let it at least have some effect.

Roscoe:  Does Bro. Papa ever ask why you have him pose for so many photos?  :P

*giggles with Nelle*

Yes, Mel I agree for an adult but not a 10 & 14 yr old right before school...lol  I didn't have the cash for me to get anything this time and I have coffee at home.  It was all about the moment.  Andrew feels mature being able to drink coffee even if it is decaf or mostly milk!  :biglaugh:   Going to Starbucks or any coffee place made their day.

I saw someone like a photo on instagram of a coffee flavored tea. I'd soo be willing to try that!
I like coffee just have to be in the mood for it.

There is a coffee here that isn't even coffee.  It's roasted hazelnuts and almonds.  If anyone is trying to quit, let me know and I'll send you some.  For me, it's more about the mug of warm liquid than caffeine.  I am just as happy most of the time with just tea.  Some days caffeine can be a blessing though... lol

And I may or may not have purchased some Orbit gum.

I had 2 handfuls of spinich, one whole cucumber, half an apple, three stalks celery, and some baby carrots in there. It made a glass and a half of really green juice and it was super tasty! I hope it helps get rid of this sickness. All those fresh vitamins can't hurt any!

And I do not like mango. At all. So I don't think I'll be trying that one.

Jenn - the flowers are beautiful. They make me do a *happy sigh*. :)

Kim - I'm so glad you told on Roscoe. :bigcheese: Now we have another something to hang over his head.

Mel - I'm sorry you're still coughing so hard. :(

Melodya - My boys would love going to Starbucks, too. Especially Jason. I think it's it mostly the whole idea of Starbucks being an adult hangout, and drinking coffee being such an adult thing to do. :) If Jason has been especially helpful around the house or has done extra chores just because, or something like that, it's not unusual for him to come ask me if he can have a cup of coffee as a reward. ;)

I have slaved on the bird ranch since sometime after noon, I forget when I started, until about 11...I had to give up, I had something else I wanted to get done but I didn't think I could stand it.  :(

And it's so stinking cold.  Sheesh.

Last year it was 84.

Lord.

I have way too much work to do this week....the next three days are going to be packed with the cleaning job and cards.....  Lord help me.....

In local news, when I got home from work tonight there was a large box on the carport.  It was a Seagram's Extra Dry Gin box.  Inside wasn't gin though, it was the Marshall 40-watt mini amp I ordered from Ebay.  It made me grin though - I thought to myself, "Is there something Grandma isn't telling me?"

Sorry, Jenn, I couldn't resist.  :great:
And morning, all. It is my friday. I felt like crud last night, just wore plumb out, and laid down for a nap. Church time came and went, and there I was at home.  But man did I feel better this morning!

Took dad to dialysis, went to the store, came home, cleaned the kitchen, got a load of laundry in the wash, drank some cucumber, apple, carrot, spinach juice.

Now laying down for a nap before going to pick dad up.

Sure is pretty cool outside right now though.  And Bobby, shame on you for sleeping instead of going to church, :nono: but I'm glad your feeling better today. :P  Feeling better could possibly have something to do with the fact that today is your friday!  :clap2:

Oh no!  That's why we haven't bought a super good blender yet. The good ones are expensive.

Tonight we're going to the symphony for the first time!  We also learned there are FREE nights occasionally. So we'll be doing this again!

Gotta go wash my hair! I tell you what, Nathan goes and surprises me with all this romantic stuff and I have no idea what to do besides enjoy it. I feel like I should be giving him a foot or back rub every night!  It's so funny how love and respect in a marriage works. That book is so right it's scary. Lol
Title: Re: One Ton of Sun un Fun in Sharing 481!
Post by: Lynx on March 21, 2013, 05:51:54 PM
What book?

For blenders, get an "immersion" (hand) blender.  Usually cheaper for good quality, and do just as good a job.  Better usually, as you can move the blades around wherever you want.  And you don't have to dirty up and wash all the parts of a standard blender.  Cuisinart has a good one, great reviews on amazon.com for something like $40.

Enjoy the symphony.  SO much better/more/deeper than just playing a classical CD.

Went for my HIDA scan this morning. I'm literally radioactive for the rest of the day. They pumped I don't know what all into an IV in my arm today. My arm is sore from it though. And I feel all chemically. It's gross. Hoping to feel better so I can go to prayer and praise at church this evening. I haven't been to any church function in awhile. Tried to watch service online tuesday and ended up falling asleep due to the meds.

I'm so over this *Oh my, I need to improve my vocabulary*.....

I am so excited!
I drove passed twice and on the second time I told Brent that I felt like we needed to stop.
So we pulled over I walked in and was honest, told them I had no clue how to do arrangements, but that I was willing to learn anything.
She asked if I would seriously try and I said yes, so she told me to come in Wed. morning at ten!
It was amazing, today was my second day and it is so much fun and it smells SO good!
It's only part time but God give me this one right on time!!!

Dad had been up and made biscuits apparently, and layed down again. Mom is still in bed. She doesn't usually get up till after 4 anyway. But it was odd that dad was laying back down.

I've got all the trash gathered up, and the diswasher unloaded, reloaded and running. Plus I put the ham bone in the crockpot to cook all day, then at about 4pm, I'll add a head of cabbage to it and that will be dinner. Yumm!

Thinking of doing baked potatoes too. Something easy and quick tonight.

I wasnt allowed to watch, so of course I did when I could. Yes. Marge Simpsons face was yellow and her hair was a blue beehive.

Scratch my dinner plans. Dad pitched a fit about the ham, he wanted beans not cabbage and he made a big stink about me using the crock pot all the time so I turned it off, told him to do it his own self and left te apartment. As it was, I got invited to a late lunch/early dinner with my aunt and uncle who are from out of town, and my Pastor Uncle/aunt. So I don't care what dad does with the stupid ham. If he's gonna pitch a fit like he did over it, I'm not touching it.

Parents are so childish sometimes. I go out of my way to help them an still get yelled at.

My scan came back normal  :banghead: So I'm supposed to watch what I eat until they can get me in to consult with a surgeon. I'm not supposed to eat fatty foods, dairy, vegetables, fruit, and watch my grain consumption. Which leaves me eating a couple of saltines and drinking water [which gives me horrid heartburn]. My options currently are starve or just eat whatever and pray I don't die.......

I've had problems for almost 2 years now. My bosses step daughter started having problems a month ago and her gallbladder is coming out on monday. I just don't understand......

Heather, sounds like that leaves beans, mushrooms, and broth. Oh and Almond milk. That sounds pretty good!  I'll tell ya a fast really helps sometimes besides for spiritual things.  While I am a believer in the Daniel's Fast, a regular just-water fast is just easier.

A tiny amount of Bragg's apple cider vinegar in your water, as in not even enough to taste, is beneficial for cleansing all your organs.  While it won't drastically reduce your heartburn in such small doses, it will help.

I want some of this strawberry cream cheese cobbler!  Or maybe a recipe?  (http://emoticoner.com/files/emoticons/smileys/flirty4-smiley.gif)

In sharing:
Last night of our Anniversary week was tonight.  We went uptown and ate at the Plaza.  It was fun.  I was feeling a little dorky not knowing how cooked I wanted my grilled duck... lol  I guess you don't grill duck well done?  I've only had roasted duck which is cooked through.  For that matter I didn't even know ANY poultry was supposed to be pink.  But I guess this was.  I'm so uncultured.  :ugly:  It was rather lovely though.  Call me weird but on the very rare occasion we get to go on a date, we love to eat earlier than the usual crowd.  Not quite 4:30 but 6 is cutting it close.

When the place started filling up we left to a little coffee shop and talked about goals and vision for the global missions dept.  Our conference is in August!  Time is flying!

I shall post the receipe for the cobbler in a bit, when I find it- Lou cleaned the bar off before I could rescue my printed copy, so hang tight and I shall retrieve it from my electronic file. It IS delish- I'm enjoying a bowl of it now. :fork:

And here 'tis...STRAWBERRY CREAM CHEESE COBBLER!!!!
Strawberry Cream Cheese Cobbler
1 stick ( 1/2 cup) butter
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 cup milk
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 quarts whole strawberries, capped and washed
4 ounces cream cheese, cut in small pieces

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter and pour into a 9-by-13-inch glass baking dish. In a small bowl, mix together the egg, milk, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Pour directly over the butter in the baking dish, but do not stir.

Add the strawberries, arranging in a single layer as much as possible. Sprinkle cream cheese pieces over strawberries. Place in preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes, or until top is golden brown and edges are bubbling. (Crust rises up and around the fruit, but fruit will still peek out of top.)
* I cut the strawberries up, into fourths, because the only "fresh" strawberries Walmart had this time of the year were imported, and were HUGE.*

I was looking around town yesterday for a small guitar amp (they make great loudspeakers, and cheaper than a really good boombox) and found a pawn shop with a lot of CDs I had never looked through.  I'd still be there now, but they had to close for the day.  No fair!

Oh, and I did find an amp.  A Fender 38 watt (more than enough for my purpose) that is small enough to carry around easily, for a flat $50.

Woke up. Worked out. Got some things out of storage since Brandon is finally building shelves and etc for our spare room. Started laundry. Found his receipts for buying a pack of cigarettes every other day for the past week. Getting ready to warm up some lunch.

I wouldn't even be that mad but he's lied to my face about it. I'll catch him outside working with a cigarette and he'll tell me he had an ashtray in the building and found it. I guessed he was lying to me but now I have proof. And he can't pull the 'they are for dad' line because they are all on days he's worked and are from Chilhowie, Erwin, and Johnson City for single packs. I figured he'd fall off the wagon. Most people do their 1st try but I'm peeved he lied to me about it. What else does he lie to me about? GGRRRRRR!!!!

Shame?  Guilt?  It's not easy to deal with failing.  Worse to admit to someone else you failed.  Try to make him understand you are upset that he lied to you, and make it clear you are not upset because he failed.

It would make me wonder Heather, if he really is ready to quit or if he's just trying to please you. We can unintentionally put people in that position and the effect is they are willing to lie to keep the peace or so they think.

By the way, something I've been meaning to ask Roscoe:  Does Arkansas have a deal with Mapquest or what?  Every time I open mapquest, it defaults to Little Rock, AR.  I can enter a zip code or city name for wherever else I want to look at, but Little Rock is where it opens to. Try it yourself and see.  Did the tourism board pay Mapquest, or is Mapquest HQ based there?

Wow.  I don't know if they'll put that one on the church website but James Little did an amazing job.  He taught some things on communion, which we'll be doing tomorrow if this snow doesn't get out of hand.  He also touched on holiness.

Quote of the night:

"When holiness is maintenance then it is sickness.  We are dead to sin, free from bondage... holiness isn't for our salvation, it's for others'."

I don't know if that is comprehensive w/o the other things he said but it was powerful.  It absolutely BLOWS my mind when I hear stuff preached the right way that turns something from what the world would make seem negative to what it really is, freeing and empowering.  There's never the unction to do less but to be more consecrated.  Not to be saved by works but to enact the truths of God and drop every weight that is unprofitable.

Sometimes I think I must be the stupidest person in the world.

Last night, I decided since I only had a little bit of my jucing veggies left, I would throw it in a blender and drink it. No prob. A little carrot, some spinach, some celery, a tiny bit of cucumber and a peach to take the bitterness out. No biggie, it was really good! So I drank it.

Took my heartburn pill, and ate some tums at about 8. Then I went to bed about 12. At 3, I wake up, and eat another handful of tums, cause I'm pretty uncomfortable with heartburn...go back to sleep and now, at 5:30, I'm wide awake with the worst pain I've had in awhile. *sigh* So I took another heartburn pill and chased it down with three big spoonfulls of mustard.

Dear lord. Why am I so stupid to think that raw veggies in a blender is ok to drink after dinner time? That was amazingly stupid on my part. I know better. I really do.

:frustrated:

Since I started typing this, it has dissipated slightly. But I'm still a real genius! SMH.

Goodnight again.

When you get yourself in the position I'm in with no where to go except to live in your car, you learn to work things out. And if you knew the family background from his life.....it's a work in progress. I'm honestly surprised he turned out as good as he did. Pretty much as soon as ANYTHING comes out we talk about it. Right then. No holding onto it. No letting it simmer. If either of us get too angry we walk away for 10 minutes then come back to resolve it. Unfortunately in that 10 minutes I come in here and blow off that steam.

I'm up. Chili in the crock pot. Eating my delicious Oikos hoping it doesn't try to kill me. The we are off to church. I think Brandon is more excited than I am to go.

I was up all night sick but I think I'm pretty much better today. Gotta make the family a big breakfast and then we'll probably have some family church right here.

Maybe. If I don't just lay down and go to sleep again.

I have a friend whose mother died suddenly Friday evening. Tonight I went and hung out at her mothers house while she was there. I may be helping her with her little boy during the funeral. He has down syndrome.

Headed to bed now. Hopefully my heart won't burn tonight.

Can you burn with the zeal that you had back then
When God first saved your soul
Win the lost at any cost and help them learn
Like the bush God spoke to Moses from
At the point of no return
Can you burn

Yesterday was a good day....saw a facebook friend who I didn't know had any knowledge of Pentecost post a Youtube of Bro David Bernard preaching with the comment "Great Preaching". I sent him a fb message that turned into about thirty minutes of conversation, with the end result that I picked him up for church last night. He worshipped and enjoyed the service, and told me that he is hunting for a home church and would be praying about ours. The young man told me he didn't know much about doctrine, or standards, or anything else, but he "knew he was Oneness".... Praying that God will continue to draw and lead him.
Made my day, especially when he was more than open for the possibility of a Bible Study. I'm hoping that will come through. His Dad has been a friend of mine for nearly twenty years- a fellow cop, ham, and Jeep nut- but strangly we've never talked church much.
And totally off subject - it was flowerin' 24 degrees here this morning!  :o I want my warm weather back.... And that's my sharing for the day.

I am currently eating a rather large tuna sandwich with mayo, dill mustard, cheddar and gorgonzola.  I mention this because it's a rather good combination that I heartily recommend to anyone.

So I worked an unexpected 12 hours today. Go back for another 10 hours in 9 hours. People I work with need to put on their big girl panties and grow up.

It's stayed around the 34 degree mark and windy today. Which I felt between the hours of 6 - 7 pm when I was walking kennel dogs outside in it. I hope to regain feeling in my hands before bed.

Lady Heather, I expressed my thoughts as you are a woman who has endured much, survived much, and IMO deserves an exceptional man. However, it really is none of my business, and henceforth I'll say nothing about what you post about Brandon or other situations, and wish you well in that vague, silent way.

I still have to catch back up in here.....

It snowed last night, not nearly such a big deal as they made it out to be...couple inches or so, and didn't stick to the roads....and it was pretty for that matter....  And it snowed. all. day. today....  Didn't add anything to it really, but it has snowed and snowed.

Happy Spring.  :P

Since it was nasty out, I went ahead and decided to go to work today.  Got most of my stores done today, and Thursday I'll do the apartment cleaning job, and finish the other 2 stores that are left.

So the other "nicer" days of the week I can do stuff around here and such.

Yay Heather!  Nice to have a light at the end of the tunnel.

We have one vehicle and Nathan carpools with a coworker. Well today the coworker's car is in the ditch. That's all I know besides everything is ok so it's probably because of the snow. So Nathan had to take our car which means he was late bc he had to take Andrew to school which I normally do and now we have to rely on a friend to help us pick him up. We need another vehicle. And Nathan needs a job when this one is done this month.  I trust God. But I also feel the pressure. Whatever we have to do we will do. I've worked before, I'll do it again if need be.

If things get tight we will cut extra expenses because that is logical.  Right now those are Internet. $40/mo can help with food/gas. So!  If I'm not around that is why. :) gotta do whatch'ya gotta do.

MellowYellow:  If you have a home phone (landline) you can get dial-up for about $6 a month through FrysISP.  I tried it just to see if it would work and it seems pretty good.  Slow of course, as any dial-up is, but it works.

And they don't disconnect you every X hours like SOME dial-up providers do (mentioning no names, but you used to get their CDs in the mail all the time.)

I don' have a home phone and haven't for at least 8 yrs. but thanks for the info, someone else may be able to use it.

It's really not that big of a deal. I think I would welcome the break from it. It's awfully hard to not engage online when it's there whether its email or otherwise.

Hannah showed signs of coming down with what I had so I let her sleep in. She's rearing to go now!  Lol. She's my little spunky monkey. A ball of sunshine with sparkles of grace.

I've been trying to get he to see the aesthetic and logical profit of two side braids with her long heavy hair for a few years. She has never liked it. This week she decided it looked cool and has worn it that way every day.  *giggle*. She keeps me amused.

You need a bunch of diaperless kids running around in your garden. Like about 30 of them, for a week. On a diet of broccoli.

My parents said that when I was little we lived next to a woman who had a ton of little kids running around, and mostly the younger ones would not have diapers on. Once she was standing at the fence talking to my dad, and she was holding one of them...the child had an explosive movement all down his legs and the mothers legs and everywhere...she never missed a word of her conversation, she just grabbed the hose, rinsed him and herself off and went on talking.

Dad said it was just nasty. And that wasn't the first time he had seen one of her kids go in the yard, but that was the yuckiest one.

I rush over, and sure enough, the dude is passed smooth out.

Dude jumped like he had been shot.  He had been taking a nap.  I scared the devil, coffee, and other various things out of him.

Just got off the phone with a friend who is DRUNK. Again. Why do they continue to do this? Repent, stay good for a few weeks and then do it all over again?! I just don't get it.

This person had been delivered from drinking and smoking for 8 years, and their spouse for 5 years, but yet the spouse is passed out in bed drunk, and my friend is well on their way to being there too.

:frustrated:

Stupid people. Really and truly. Stupid.

Thats probably because your ip host is located out of Little Rock.
No, my IP host is in Mississippi. And I've tried it from multiple computers on multiple ISPs.

I opened MapQuest, and it defaulted to Rochester, NY.

In the meantime I just spent a maaaaaaaahvelous time at a pawn shop, plowing through a good 15 long boxes of CDs.  Got 61 CDs at 50 cents a piece.  Gaither, Kirk Franklin, Michael English, Walt Mills, Hezekiah Walker, Rachael Lampa, Eleventh Hour, The Greenes, Winans, Martins...  Some of them I've never even heard of before, but for 50 cents I'll take a chance.  If all I like is two out of the whole bunch I'll still come out ahead.

I've been as busy as a one armed paper hanger today.....and realized I haven't posted here yet. :o  My bad.Had range duty which meant no internet time. My night last night....well, it inhaled mightly. (I'd say it s +ucked, but that is apparently a bad word). Chey wasn't feeling good, so she slept with us. About midnight she coughed so much she became sick, which meant midnight showers for all and laundering of the bedclothes.
The doctor prescribed cough medicine did nothing, and the only thing that got her to stop coughing was sitting upright. Needless to say, Daddy got to hold her all night , semi upright in a recliner that is less than comfortable.
So- no sleep, and I slept wrong on my shoulder that has been giving me trouble anyway, rendering me near  incapable of using my left arm. Made it through the day though, and now I have a weekend. A rainy nasty one, they are saying, but at least I won't be at work.

As for chocolate gravy, my friends, my mama would get up every Saturday morning and make chocolate gravy and home-made buttermilk biscuits.  I tried for years to make it like she did, but never could get it right.  Well, I went to Bobby's one morning, not too long ago, and the two of us together figured it out!  Maybe ya'll just aren't eating it right, you have to put a little butter on your plate, cover it with hot chocolate gravy, mix it up and dip that biscuit in it !!!  You people just don't know what you are missing! :fork:

Today it got up to 60° !!!  Everyone is ecstatic.  No school tomorrow and no work for Nathan.  Saturday we are going out to the farm which is lovingly named after our friends new land that has lots of acreage.  It's a bonfire birthday for a friend, it will be the highlight of the month at least.  Great fellowship is priceless.

I still have to read all this sharing.

Did egg drops, cleaning, cards, church...yadda yadda...

Went to the dentist and they ground my filling off a little more, didn't look like anything was visibly wrong with it making it hurt....  Xrayed it and stuff.....  Hopefully it's just sore and stuff and whatever.....  It hadn't bothered me too much till after they worked on it, and the cold air/water started it hurting and gomming around with it....

Then tonight after I got home from church it took a hurting spell.

Bleh.

For the record, a Fender solid-state amp, even a little 38 watt one, is an awesome thing.  Nobody in my neighborhood is home right now, so I took it outside for a thorough sound check.  With Nicole C. Mullen's "Talk About It" playing through it.  If anyone HAD been home in the neighborhood, they would have been talking about it alright.

And on the subject of music... does anyone want a rather large stack of CDs I don't want?  I've sorted through about 40 of them so far, and the ones I keep are about even with the ones I don't want.  My only request is that you not come back to me and say "What, you don't like him?  How could you NOT like that group?"  Just take them and see if there are any you like in there.

I paid 30 bucks for the whole mess, and I already got a good 20 CDs I like out of it... and I'm not through sorting them out yet - I'm happy.  If I can get them shipped cheap enough I'll front that too, cause I'd sure rather send them to someone else than throw them away.

What's this media mail?  All I ever did was slip a disk or four in an envelope.  Do I tell the post master "I'd like these to go via media mail" or something?

Yep. Pretty much. You can ship books, CDs, and DVDs for WAY cheaper by shipping via media mail - provided there is no other type of item in the package. I've shipped a quite LARGE box of books for about $10. Probably would have been more like $40 if I'd sent it parcel post or whatever, based on the weight. You just aren't allowed to put any other type of item in with them.

To borrow a catchphrase from Seth:  Ugh.

Who's idea was the "sunrise service" anyway?  I am NOT in a mood fit to be in public right now.  Unfortunately the community is having the sunrise service at our church this year, and our new pastor is preaching.  (And our elder pastor making breakfast.  He was patting out sausage into patties last night.) If it were any other, drier, deader, quieter church I would not be getting up this early because I would surely fall asleep during the service.

Oh well, I have dark chocolate.  Let's get on with it.

Oh, Lord. Somebody just shoot me already. I'm back at work, thanks to coffee and sinus medication...my head cold can't decide if it is truely a head cold or a chest cold- I just want it gone. In addition my shoulder still hurts, to the point I am considering a doctor's visit. And on top of it all, one of my favorite preachers is visiting my church today ( Bro John Proctor) and I have to work. Due to the 2 o'clock service, I will get there just about the time it concludes. Hopefully, I'll be in time for potluck, as if I can taste anything with this cold. Bah.

In local news... well... I might possibly be halfway sorta glad I went to the sunrise service.  Maybe.  Kinda.  Our pastor did a great job preaching on "what do you see when you see the empty tomb?"  I hope it didn't scare anyone - most of the people who were there aren't used to pentecostal preachers, nor are they accustomed to hearing people in the congregation backing him up.

I just whipped up something interesting.  The reason I came home between sunrise service and normal morning service (instead of taking a quick nap on the pew) is because I still had to make some deviled eggs.  The problem is I never know what I'm going to put in them until I look through the fridge and cabinets and decide.  Today I used a bit of garlic, a bit of dill relish, an awful lot of dill weed and... gorgonzola cheese.  Just a bit of cheese, but a little gorgonzola goes a loooooooooong way.  I tested this brew on my uncle Fred and my grandmother, and they both pronounced it the best deviled eggs ever.

If I tell people there's gorgonzola in them, they won't know what that is.  If I tell them there's a kind of blue cheese in there, they won't eat the eggs.  I have decided to pretend I didn't even make them, just leave the eggs and let the people in charge of setting up the dinner put them out.  That way nobody will know I made them, and won't ask what's in them, so I won't have to scare them or lie.  :hypocrite:

But you dont smell much better.

I was so tired today as well...we had phenomenal church this morning, and then I went to Subway with Ann to eat lunch. I had lunch already prepared at home, ready to eat, but she wanted to eat with me and offered to buy since I didn't have any money, so I went with her. Came home, took a MUCH NEEDED three hour nap, and just got up and ate the roast and veggies that mom and dad had for lunch that I had prepared. It was yummy.

Mom and dad went to WM, and I'm here alone with the dog.

Hmmm. Too bad I didn't get an Easter basket loaded down with chocolate this morning. :smirk2: As it is I dont have any chocolate in the house to share with this precious sweet puppy. :hypocrite:

Guess I'll go clean the kitchen...I wonder if hersheys syrup is bad for dogs...

What's up Geepers?!?!

Just wanted to say my ex, his wife, the pastor and myself dealt with some issues and we are all on good terms now. Brandon and I went to church there this morning. Brandon wouldn't go to the front but there was definitely some tears shed so it's a step I'm glad that's happened. He likes that church the best and its in the city we live in.

Granted I may end up moving still. Brandons mom got fired from her job. If she goes too long without one or unemployment I can see Mike letting her, the twin 6 year old boys, and her 4 dogs move out here. I will NOT be staying here if that happens. Dr Allen has said I can set up my own apartment downstairs at work with my animals in tow or I'll be heading to Southern MS. Hopefully the Lord hears my prayers and His will is for that woman to NOT live here.

Be great my party peeps!

Today was hmmm...I don't know the right word but I'm pretty sure the devil was mad that we were singing about the blood and that pastor was preaching about it.

We broke our record attendance though.  713.

Went to Holiday Youth Convention Friday night. Was fun.

On the way home Saturday, my two friends I had a prayer meeting for one of the friends. She's dealing with a messy break-up, and some friendships involved in the break-up as well and she just couldn't take it anymore. She is 18, and one of my very best friends. Backslid as a teenager, and got back in church full speed ahead right around 17. So proud of her. I spoke to her, and then prayed out loud...God's peace was all over that car!

Great Easter today! Packed house. A guy almost got the Holy Ghost. A bunch of my young adult guys prayed realllly hard. SO proud of them!
Feeling refreshed, and revived. Excited to see what God has in store for our Young Adult group. We girls are starting a girls bible study. We're doing Romans 1-7 for the first one.

No service tonight, so it's been a quiet evening! Lovely!

I counted roughly about 86 from the platform today. That's not as good as it has been on Easter in past years. Seems we didn't have anyone but regulars today. I saw just two families I didn't recognize. I can get the official number tomorrow. My view was partially obstructed by the pulpit and I don't think my count is accurate.

But we had great church!

Currently, I am eating some pepperoncini straight from the jar. Yeah...I better hit the tums before I lay down. But they are so good!

We had about 46 people today. Definitely not a record Easter attendance for us, but considering how many people in our core group have been either sick or having surgery... well, I thought 46 was a really great number. *lol*

Last night I dreamed like one of Seth's nutboxes.  If everything in the dreaming had fit together it would at least have been entertaining and I might have made a script and eventually had a major motion picture out of it... but alas, it did not.

In the meantime, we go back to work today.  Bout time.  At least we had a lot of church stuff to keep occupied during the downtime.

Roscoe:  Ditto on hating being sick.  When I'm sick I can't wait for it to pass and my energy to resume normal levels.

I'm thankful there is still at least some general acceptance and openess to going to church on holidays.

Hannah is taking her standardized testing right now online and phone at the same time.  I am excited to see where she lands.

I made Mexcan hot chocolate cookies this wekend with rave reviews.  A wonderfully chewy chocolate chocolate chip cookie with a heat residue that keeps one from over eating them.   :biglaugh:

I, however, do not eat hot stuff because I am allergic to pain.

I hate April 1st.  Bro. Austin, a member of my church who is rather fond of (im)practical jokes, has been burning up my phone today with instant messages, insisting he heard an announcement that I am supposed to begin a bible study class tonight, starting on the book of Romans.  I have proof he is well aware I work night shift - he acted surprised to see me last Wednesday night at church, during our week of downtime.

Fool idjit is burning up my GoPhone money with these instant messages.  Which may be the real joke.  I should send him a bill.

Speaking of April Fools...my daughter set the alarm on her Nintendo DS, then hid it under the my bed.  So at 2:45 this morning, I am awakened by a alarm.  It took me and my wife both to find it and get the crazy thing shut off...

Well, last night, the kids were out playing, and I called off work today.  I figured I wouldn't tell them, and surprise them this morning.  When that alarm went off, it set in motion a revenge prank...LOL

This morning, my daughter comes in and says "DADDY!  ITS 7:40!!!!  YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE AT WORK!!!!!"  I said "Oh man, I was up late looking for that alarm and overslept!"  Her shoulders slumped, she knew she had gone too far. Then I started laughing, and told her I took off.

The good news is no more pranks!  LOL

Y'all is mean....Doctor said I am gonna live, and prescribed three different medications for my respiratory infection and my sore shoulder. Since I had to take off today, I went ahead and went by the Revenue Office and gave the legalized pirates a huge sum for the privilege of buying a new car. I still get mad over the whole sales tax on used vehicles, and it's been law here for better than ten years.
The original owner paid sales tax on it, ain't no sense in making everyone who ever owns it pay taxes on it. It is regressive and unfair! Buncha whiskey swilling crooks in the legislature to think up that....I hope the ones that voted that in are  forever tormented. With pitchforks. And Emrods.  And anything else that is unpleasant.  Bah.

The only drink that comes in our sanctuary is water.....if food/candy is in it's usually mints, or goldfish (something a parent brings for a small child).
But you'd NEVER even know any of the above was in the sanctuary. People don't leave it. That's uber disrespectful.

Yeah. Here too. You never find the remnents of food or stuff in the sanctuary. Plus we have Bro Loyd on patrol. He is head usher and he sees you chewing gum or eating, he will have you get rid of it. He also keeps the kids from texting and playing with phones during church.

And yes Isaac, I know Ruby IRL. Very well. Her brother too. We may have "met" on this forum, but honestly, we rarely even communicate on here anymore.

It is.  However we have people from some pretty rough lives that are still growing.  Plus we had around 200 guests on Sunday.  So many have no clue about respect in church these days.

Once, because she had seen other moms bring snacks like goldfish , she did not make a distinction and brought her child with some
sort of egg mcmuffin thing and a pop. :/  And moms here think they clean it up but there are still remnants.  The idea that kids need a snack during church is stupid, especially when they get one in ss/nursery.

I'm really curious what the othet church cleaners of a congregation that size has to say?

Well we run around 275. I still have never heard of people bringing food/drinks to a church, visitor or not.
We have lots of visitors often too, not always savory lol, had a homeless lady for a while-at times disruptful but even she never brought food/drink.

Maybe it's the area. Although still think it's weird. Lol
I've visited the Graham's church up there and it's pretty large.

We have parents who sneak goldfish or cheerios in if they have toddlers.  Otherwise the only thing is Grandma might sneak a mint from her purse.  I'm the one who vacuums when it's my family's turn to clean the church (we take it by weeks here) and I rarely find food debris.  There is a no-food-or-drink rule for the sanctuary, and if an adult sees a kid bringing in a can of soda or a snack he is free to remind said kid of the rule.  Politely of course.

If you vacuum you can always tell which pews have kids though, even without food detritus.  The floor has a lot more shoe-bottom stuff there.

We had around 150 in church Sunday. Cheerios are allowed for the wee ones in the sanctuary.

I get along great with my ex-mother-in-law now. I hadn't seen her in 5 years. She goes to church again too. She was telling another lady in the restroom that she believes in the Apostolic Doctrine, but not for her because her hair looks 'bad' grown out.  But it's ok. I'd honestly take her over Brandon's mom at this point.

Mom and dad left for a couple of hours today...and I discovered that Furby won't eat the gum even hidden in pieces of cheese.

I may or may not have let him have three pieces of moms gherideli (sp?) dark chocolate squares.

Dark chocolate in moderation won't hurt a dog.  Three squares of dark chocolate is... um... not moderation, especially given the body mass of said dog.  I would be concerned.

Did you pray through and get forgiveness for trying to kill the dog?   :hypocrite:

Can you truely repent over the death of said dog? Since repentence, I always thought, meant not only that you are sorry for it- (you wouldn't be) but that you won't do it again (you would should the need arise, especially now that you know it works)..I just don't see Mel feeling the appropriate twinges and convictions to repent.  :biglaugh: :P :biglaugh:

And last night, since I am sharing and venting, I was, as usual, sick as a green dog. Seems mornings I'm feeling decent, after noon to eveningish I feel like crud.  This happened to be the time that the nurse for our new life insurance policies showed up to do a medical screening. Lord. She probably will recommend they not write the policy because I looked well past half dead. And to make my day worse, the vampire had to draw blood. I hate needles. Not a good thing.

Orbit gum
Chocolate

Leave the gate open.  After the folks go to bed.  Give him a head start.  You know he wants one!  You'd be giving him "freedom."  (http://gfxlovers.com/smilies/imgs/girly/girly020.gif)

Drive him to the zoo.  Toss him over into the lions' area.  He never gets any socialization from other animals.  (http://gfxlovers.com/smilies/imgs/girly/girly004.gif)

Zoo lions are apathetic.  They never get any exercise, they just sleep until they are fed.  He'd be able to get away easily.

I cant leave the gate open, cause like when he got out of the gate last time, it was ME who had to go look for him, eventhough I wasn't the one who left the gate open. Plus I had to hear mom whine about it and hope he wasn't dead and blah blah blah, the phone calls and the drives around the neighborhood looking for that stupid dog. Then when he was found, she spent over $300 to get him out of doggie jail, and all this other mess, and I had to drive her two towns over to pick him up and then he had kennel cough and she cried and worried over him for another two weeks till he got better.

No. Leaving the gate open won't work. He will just come back eventually.

It's better if he would die. In the house. So they KNOW he is dead, we can bury him, and that be that. They didn't care when my cat died. They didn't even tell me for three days, and let me wander around calling her name when they KNEW she was dead.

So I dont care two bits about this dog. I want him gone.

This dog really must DIE!!

Got home from church and he had ripped a trash bag and strewn its contents all over the living room. :smirk2:

Mom said: "he must have been hungry!"

I immediately looked at his FULL food bowl and told her he should have eaten his food if he was hungry.

She just pushed the garbage aside next to the wall, and whn I asked her if she was gonna pick it up, she said she would tomorrow. UGH.

So I cleaned the kitchen, and when the dog came in there to see if I would give him scraps, I proclaimed loudly "BAD DOG! NO! You are NOT getting anything! You already tore the garbage all over the place and it smells like cr.ap in here!"

A few mins later, mom came in the kitchen, got a clean bag and picked up the garbage off the floor. All the while talking in a low soothing voice to that wretched mutt.

THIS IS WHY HE MUST DIE!!

:frustrated:

He would be one of the ones who gets hit, lives, costs thousands of dollars worth of surgeries and therapies, then you would still have to get up and take him outside and hold his hiney up so he could do his business...and since mom won't get out of bed to let him out when he can WALK...just imagine what a mess that would be. :smirk2:

Yes. Melodya was correct...the smell goes thru the whole church, so we can't cook on days that we have church and stuff. We do eat leftovers on those days, or sandwiches, or stuff that you don't have to COOK. Just open a can or something and heat up. Or we snack for dinner, and wait till after church and go get something out. But lately that's rare cause money is tight.

The Lima beans were awesome! I had a nice sized bowl, and some cornbread. Yummmmy!

So far I have tried the green iced tea with mint and I am SOOO ADDICTED. Wow. It's amazing! I dislike raspberry, and I HATE mango. Yuk! But I was thinking of adding a fruit flavor to my tea next time, along with the mint...any suggestions?!

Also...one day I'm gonna get a brownie blast with mint added...can we say THIN MINTS?! I can't wait to try that one.

Has anyone else tried the mint flavor in their drinks?

Well, I haven't been on here for a couple of days, but John  :pound: :pound: :pound: :pound: No I am not the one with 15 kids!!!  I am the smart one in my family--0 children.  The closest thing I have to kids is a red-headed step-son who I love with all my heart and two dogs.  The weenie dog, Chili, and a pit bull dog named Image.  Speaking of dogs, my heart is really going out to the little one that Mel is trying to kill off. Poor puppy!  Somebody save him!!!

Now I'm all curious which one it was that made you :D .  But only mildly curious - I don't like to talk about the groups I don't like, because someone else probably gets a blessing from it and I don't want to ruin it by talking about why I don't like it.

If that doesn't make sense it's because it doesn't make sense, but I just got up and it made sense to me.  So I'll just go with "cool, glad you found something you liked."

Warning!! RANT:

If you are too sick to attend church, then what does it matter who will be there? If you are sick, STAY HOME! But it says a lot when you are too sick to go, but find out someone special will be there and then "Oh its a MIRACLE!! I'm healed! I can go to church now!"

If I'm sick, I'm sick. I'm not gonna go just to see someone special.

And another thing that gets me, how do you know you will be too sick to go TOMMORROW? That's tomorrow! Why try diligently ALL WEEK to find out if someone will be there when you may feel just fine and it won't matter anyway! It's not like we will see them other than at church, so who cares when they get here!?

I'm fed up with this situation. It's fake. It's hypocritical. I'm tired of dealing with it EVERY. DAY. OF. MY. LIFE.

And it's official, the special people will NOT be at church tomorrow, unless by a miracle cause they are still at their house, 4 hours away....so I can ALMOST be sure enough to put money on that there will be another absence from church tomorrow too.

I am 98.999% sure of it.

Only got muddy up past one knee, due to recent construction around one of our fishing holes. Life is good. Been drivin' the wheels offin' Rusty this weekend....good to be back in my favorite ride. Can't wait for the end of this month....vacation, even though it will be mostly local. I've plotted us several days of home state adventures. Coincidently, several of them will require us to drive Rusty.  :P

However... in this case... *sheepish grin*... it had nothing to do with getting a blessing. I saw the Susan Boyle CD on top of all the Christian stuff. I know, I know. I'm such a heathen.

And by the way, howdy y'all.  My sister's memorial party was supposed to be at 8:30pm Sunday... but then last Thursday we learned of the tree being planted at the school in her name... and then at about 8:30am (east TN time) we learned that Kathryn, her daughter, was going to be baptized at 11am.  In the titles, sad to say, but it's a nice church with some nice people and a pastor who preached about being saved is more than just saying you're a christian, it's a relationship with God... and then he went on to list a few things that show up in a person's life if he loves God.  If only he'd get the hang of the One God thing and getting the Holy Ghost I'd be happy about my niece going there.

But I was a good boy and didn't start any debates.  I won't say whether it was difficult or not.  :hypocrite:

So what am I doing up at this time of day?  We left right after the memorial party Sunday night and right now I'm in Nashville, killing time, waiting for McKay's Used Books (and CDs) to open.  :D

Good morning. Back at work. And a special prayer request- I have a friend, Bro Wesley Jackson, who is an awesome preacher. It's not spiteful when

1. She's not regularly on FB.
2.  It's no longer Barb's FB page but an page dedicated to antiGod propaganda. When she changed her name to an idea rather than her, it's not her personal page anymore. Which I think is kind of counter productive really. If I believe in something and want to spread the word, I want people who know me to associate me with my passion.

Well here we go again. I feel sick. Blah.

My stomach was upset last night, and I feel like I have a fever now. Not to mention the pounding headache and chills. Mom keeps this apartment pretty warm, but I used my sheet and two blankets last night...I usually don't even use covers, unless it's just a sheet, and I sleep with a fan pointed on me. But not last night. I was freezing!

Plus I think all the not being able to sleep the past week finally caught up to me. I took a nap yesterday afternoon, got up, went to WM, come home, and I crashed at 9:30pm. :o That is crazy early for me. Slept till 11:00am this morning.

So I guess I'm caught up on sleep...I just wish I didn't feel so crummy.

Mondays are usually pretty busy, here.  Today is no exception.

I barely made it home, and only by way of pulling over to the side of the road and lying down for a bit.  Three times.  So when I got home I promptly crashed.  I think I slept wrong and snored, because my uvula was swollen and making me gag when I woke up.  Hate it when it does that.

And there is a wasp somewhere in this room... it flew away from me and landed somewhere I didn't see, and now I keep waiting for that buzzing sound to tell me it is once more a-wing.

In other news, I scored a good 17 or 18 boxes of Schogetten dark chocolate, all Aldi had, for 99 cents a piece.  :D

Milk chocolate is like coffee with cream and sugar - it's not the chocolate or the coffee you really like, it's the cream and sugar.

I also like coffee with cream and sugar. Mostly just cream, no need for sugar really, but I can and do drink it black sometimes. That's also yummy. But I can't take it pure black all the time. That's too strong. I need some cream, at least a little.

But I honestly don't like dark chocolate. Too bitter.

Glad someone agrees with me! ;)

So has anyone else tried the Mint at Sonic? Heather said she got an Oreo blast with mint, but they didn't mix it very well and all the mint was in one spot. So it wasnt very good.

Idk if I want to try it now or not. Lol

I don't know about Sonic's mint flavoring, but when I tried their blast it tasted weird.  Then I found they make their ice cream with (acck, pfft!) lowfat milk.  No wonder it tasted weird.

I do not like to do this, but after the weekend we had I'm going to have to reset my sleep schedule with the use of injudicious amounts of caffeine.  It's either that or go to bed now and be totally messed up (no comments please) for second shift tomorrow.

I love chocolate. Dark, milk..doesn't matter. Don't just love white chocolate although I will eat it in a pinch.
Lou made Chicken fajitas....they were good, but surely heartburn and antacids shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the corner stall forever. :smirk2:
Had a cool ham radio moment...talked to a guy in Tripoli, Lebanon tonight. Just another country I shall never see, but they are having to hear Roscoe.... :P I need Seth to get his ham license. I have numerous Indiana folk on the air, and if he'd just get the license and the radio, I could drive him buggy even more than I already do. 'twould be cool from my side of the issue. :P

Morning all!!! Well, I was supposed to go to school today, but it seems I have done something to my foot and can't hardly walk on it.  I have no idea how I hurt it, but I guess I will wrap it up in a heating pad and take an anti-inflammatory and see if that works.  Can't go to the dr. as my insurance ran out April 1  due to my job shutting down back in Dec.   My husband is gonna add me to his insurance, but can't do so until June.  Oh well, I'm sure it will be fine in a day or two.  Everybody have a good day! :P

By the way, I made an observation when I was looking through the CDs at McKay's.  If you see a collection album - a CD with a lot of different singers, like those WOW albums - and you look at the back, and you already have all the songs on that album because you have the artists' albums those songs came on... maybe you have too much music.

Or maybe not.  Probably not.
