I don't think WC can help it.

Geared up for conference this weekend.  Sounds like others have church events as well.  Gonna be a fun thread to read come Monday of all the testimonies!   :onfire:

What I would do for a Snickers right now.  Perhaps I shall go eat some chocolate chips... lol

Yes, indeed.  I WILL admit that I am a touch paranoid- Bro Proctor has these piercing eyes and the uncanny ability to know exactly what I'm messing up the most with. Or at least it seems that way. The man can look at me and see right through my soul.
For once, I feel like I am where I need to be in my walk with God and Bro Proctor's coming to preach. Ironically, I am now worried that I am overconfident of my walk with God and thus- something for him to preach at.  :laughhard:

Lord. Even when I don't have anything to worry about, I worry that I've forgotten something I SHOULD be worried about.  :laughhard:

I was trying to make a thread. It was gonna be something like "Mini is leaving, now we can have real fun! Come and share in 4-7-1!"

But the cop beat me to it. :pound:

Went to work.

At my first stop my grandma and aunt were getting there just as I was.  Saw other various people there, or other stores throughout the day too...ending with Pleasant Andy at Target.

Went by the PO and got some stamps, came home.  Ate supper.

I'm tarred.

Oh, the pleasant sound of my wife cleaning around me and bellering "Get out of the way, ya oaf.".....Such a homey sound.  :P

I've ate a few burritos and am enjoying, in no particular order, a german chocolate cheesecake, a Dr Pepper, a good book, and the occasional internet foray. Life is good for me..... other than that wack upside the head with a broom. Still don't understand why I got that. I even lifted my feet for her to sweep under, and helpfully pointed out she missed a spot.  :sadbounce:

My parents took Brandon and I out to eat at ou favorite Mexican joint. We turn the corner coming into moms neighborhood and I realize something is amiss. Brandon's car was parked between 2 driveways (one being my moms and the other to the vacant lot next door that me and my uncle park in) where he always parks when he's here. But instead his car was 30+ feet down the road and a white small SUV was in his place. The idiot woman was speeding and hit his parked car!!! Her excuse, it was dark and his car is black. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! You have headlights. The neighbors across the street have a BRIGHT floodlight. Not to mention all the streetlights! Get off the painkillers woman and pay attention! It was made all the better because her car was white. Lol. Unfortunately she didn't have any insurance (which is a no-no in the stat of Tennessee) but she'll be fined and taken to court by Brandons insurance. His whole drivers side rear is gone. We can't even get the gas flap open. So it's parked where my car normally goes and he currently has my car.

It's just one thing after another. But one of the preachers said in the last couple weeks, the prettiest diamonds are made under the most pressure

Going to ride the Creeper Trail tomorrow with the church. Should be fun. I've always wanted to do it.

Just got home from the Applebees.  The only place open past 11 apparently.  :smirk2:

Today was hectic.  Cleaned my part of church, endured Walmart's 4 out of 22 lanes open with a mile line at each.  Made pumpkin bread, apple pie, & choc.chip cookies, prepped for jambalaya & put the rub on the salmon.

At the last minute I was informed my guest was bringing a friend.  & that she's ok with sleeping on the floor.  I guess that's how they do it in India...

My throat is sore.

And I just generally feel bad. All over. It's a common thing these days with me.

Could it be related to the bed I'm sleeping on? It's not the worst thing in the world, but for long term sleeping, over a few nights, it's not very comfortable, and I find I ache in the mornings. Maybe it's something else entirely, like being nearly 32. Lol

Or it could be cause I spent the morning in our moldy house yesterday. *shrug*

Who knows?

Anyway. Taking dad to dialysis. Then maybe a nap when I get home.

Merning.

Hunting at the moment.  Well...sitting here faith my dad and daughter.  Its a youth rifle hunt here, so we had things mapped out well.  I was gonna sit in a stand they have been using and bow hunt while they tried a new spot.  Pa takes me to the stand at 6:30, waits till I walk in, and as I get nearly  to the stand, I realize someone is sitting in it!

Nearly scared the devil outta me.

Some neighbor kid who may or may not have permission snipped our hunting stand.  So I ask him if he is alone (he has a sister my daughter's age who does hunt here) and he says his dad is here...IN OUR OTHER STAND!

We have 2 stands here, building a third...feeders, and hunting permission and rights.  Being run out of our stands after we set them up, is not what any hunter wants.  If they want to hunt here, work with us and don't take stands....

*sigh*

I need more coffee.

You are too kind. I'd have told him and his dad both to leave if I'd done all the work putting the stands up. I cant stand someone that comes in and takes over without my permisson.....

Was mowing the church lawn and a guy stopped and gave me a royal chewing about our grass clippings littering the street.  He sure felt the need to offer me a piece of his mind about it.

I should have asked him if all his cussing and his gold cross proclaiming his Christianity was a joke or a oxymoron.  Lol

You should have stood there talking until a few cars had passed, blowing the grass back to the side of the road, then suddenly pointed and said, "Look!  Problem solved."

Reminds me of this guy who was talking about the signs christians have on their cars, and how christians act when they're driving.  He said he was driving behind this lady one time who had a bumper sticker, "Honk if you love Jesus."  He said, "And I did.  And I'm telling you... the sign she gave me!  It let me know one of two things, either she was borrowing that car, or she was in a serious backslidden state!"

Oh, and Poopsie Smoopsie, I'd say the mold is a more likely culprit....

When I worked at IU there was one particular dorm that was horrific, I don't see how people stood to live in it, it had mold all over everything....walls, ceilings....unoccupied rooms had it on the furniture....  If I was in there for extended periods of time it always made me feel like poopossimus.

It was a 14 story high rise....the lower you went from the top down the worse it got.  Pitiful.

They have remodeled it since that time, hopefully remedied its terrible situation.

Just got in from the anniversary service....Between 70 and 100 there I would guess. Had good worship, and alot of ministers said great things about my pastor, all of which I knew to be true, then HIS pastor preached. Awesome job.....but the greatest thing that happened was after this.

My pastor's son, who has been one of my best friends for years, and who is a cop currently going through the police academy, backslid around a year ago, maybe a little less. Wouldn't talk about church with anyone, and never gave an inclination to walk back in the door. He showed up today for the service. After the message, the preacher called for Bro Papa's entire family to come to the front, and called Mitch by name. I halfway expected Mitch to storm out.
The preacher had all the ministers, around 30, come gather around and pray for the family. God forevermore moved... Mitch began crying, and after a bit, took the microphone and began to try to talk, then fell apart. He began worshipping and praying. While I wasn't close enough to see if he'd prayed back through, I received the report that he had indeed been refilled.

I got to talk briefly with him, but didn't say anything for fear of jeapordizing anything God is doing....He has four more weeks of the academy to go through, and that will keep him out of church for that long at any rate. Please pray for his strength and his determination. I honestly cannot tell you what he means to me, he is truely my brother... Man, I am still crying and in amazement of how God works....

PF, I'd always rather bake than clean!  Cookies make the house smell good so the house seems cleaner...  :thumbsup2:

Goodness.  Conference was... all the usual positive adjectives don't suffice.

My company... it was a go w/ the flow & that's all I want to say right now.  You don't know if you're gracious until you have to be when it's not the first thought... lol

Here is my delima:  I need to take a break from media.  But I'm addicted to GP.

Seriously but it still seems silly.

I'm not addicted to FB or Pinterest or the news.  I even forget to check my email every week...lol

In face to face life, we don't take a break from people.  Well, most Christians anyway.  We still fellowship.  I look at GP as fun Christian socializing.

It's not that I'm lazy.  I still accomplish what I feel is never enough but will suffice each day.  It's just that while I LOVE to study the Word, it's easier to sit down and do something easier, like laugh with you all on GP.  You guys are the perfect distraction from the busyness of life.  :)

And also.  I'm kinda afraid if I take a break from media/GP that I will hit a groove and inadvertently become disconnected from you guys.  I'm already not good about staying in contact via phone.  I have face to face friends.  But they're not you guys.  *sigh*  I don't know how to stay here and still do the things I know I need to do.

There is not enough time in my day.

Oh and Downy with Febreze is a-maaazing.

gah... my ramblings for the night.  I think I'm exhausted.  But I missed my GP friends and wondered how Roscoe's anniversary service went and Jenn's conf. went.  Thank you for sharing that testimony, Roscoe!  I love it!  Surely you're going to be instrumental in discipling him to a solid walk with God.   :great:

Merning.

Hunting at the moment.  Well...sitting here with my dad and daughter.

A little more on this story...

Pa talked to the land owner yesterday, and told him about having two guys in our stands.  Pa's main problem was not that they guys might or might not have permission to hunt, but that the guys failed to contact us and ask permission before hunting out of our stands.  At another place I hunt, I have permission to hunt in other peoples stands if they are not hunting.  I always contact them first, even if I know they are not hunting that day, and ask if they will be there, then get a ok to hunt.  Its common courtesy.

Well, as Pa explained what had happened to the land owner, we find out the son and his dad were both banned from the land last year!  The son had shot several deer, and never tracked them to find them, but just let them lay.  Nothing makes a real hunter or land owner madder than someone doing this.

The land owner was gone last weekend.  You pass by his house to get to the entrance of the hunting grounds.  These other people live right next to the fence that surrounds the hunting grounds.  So, they saw he was gone, snuck in on his property Saturday morning, and got caught hunting.

What upsets me is the fact that this dad is teaching his son a very bad lesson.  It is not ok to break the rules, it is not ok to trespass, it is not ok to be doing what he is doing.  When I make my daughter follow all the rules, people who break the rules bother me even more.

I am not trying to make this about hunting being right or wrong, so if you don't agree with hunting, I apologize in advance for offending you.  Not trying to do that by any means.  However, I have hunted since I was a very young kid, and enjoy it.  I was also taught that every hunter has a code of ethics that you abide by, and a code of ethics on other peoples property is as important as firearm saftey.

As matter of fact, the NRA Hunters Code Of Ethics states this:

QuoteI will consider myself an invited guest of the landowner, seeking his permission, and so conducting myself that I may be welcome in the future.

Number 2 on that list?

QuoteI will obey the rules of safe gun handling and will courteously but firmly insist that others who hunt with me do the same.

If you do a google search for "hunters code of ethics" nearly every list has a part talking about respecting the landowners, or asking permission.

This incident also bothers me on a whole other level.  I live in a very rural part of my state.  We have many farmers and ranchers in the area, and there is much land surrounding me.  As a hunter, I ask permission to hunt, and if my dad has permission for both of us to hunt, I go as far as to check with the land owner on my own to obtain permission for myself.  When a hunter trespasses on property to hunt, shoots anything but does not harvest (track, find, and use the meat), or even invites friends who does not have permission, it makes the landowner unwilling to let anyone hunt.  That includes me, even when I did not break the rules.  As a result, hunting land becomes increasingly difficult to obtain.

In the end, everyone is worse off.

*sigh again*

Yikes Minnie.

Reminds me of the night a hunter (whom Dad had allowed to hunt on our land) came up to our house demanding to know where we put his stand, and who had been in it. None of our family who lives there hunts, and no one else from our extended family lives NEAR us. So.. If someone used his deer stand, it was a person who hadn't asked permission from ANYone. While I understand his frustration, he was rather rude to my mom about all of it. If it had been up to me, he would've been asked to remove himself and his stand off of our land. Not really sure what Dad did about it. too long ago.

Speaking of Arkansas - I'm going this weekend. WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO! :)

Back home and worn to a frazzle. Been a long day, although a good one. I managed to bring my personal best score up- again- and generally had a grand time shooting things. As I told my boss yesterday when he remarked that today's qualification would be "for real, not playing" - "Boss, you are paying me good money to shoot YOUR ammo and YOUR gun and spend the day in the company of one of my best friends. In my book, that's a play day."  :biglaugh:
And on top of that, it is the one time that I can order the chief and the captain around and they have to listen, or policy says I can boot them from my range. Of course, they might return the boot with one of their own, should I do so.... :biglaugh:
We may have been a bit TOO efficient. We'd plan on a two day range, but everyone has done so well with all of the recent coaching we got everyone qualified today. Now I have to go back to work tomorrow instead of playing with guns.

Been in meetings. Thinking about some things pretty thoroughly.

Gotta go to wally world later on today to get some thangs. Get me some new perfume. I've been all out for about 2 weeks and it's not like me to not wear it.

I rarely ever wear perfume.  The kind I like is too expensive.

never found one I really like other than that one.  And these days there are so many wearing so much stuff that it doesn't hurt for me to just smell plain clean... lol  I think between shampoo, body wash and lotion, I have enough aroma.

Hmm...never smelled that one. I'll have to check it out!

Usually I just wear 1 or 2 sprays of perfume. I just use cool water or lucky you - which you can get at Wal Mart for pretty cheap. I'm just gonna go for the mini mini bottle that you can just dab on.

Pretty sure I'll just get one today. I like the little bitty bottles that don't have a sprayer thingy on them. You can just use a little and you don't have to get it all over.

I just don't do perfumes.
I used to have a couple of kinds that I liked but they quit making it and then so many folks have allergies that I just don't use it any more.

Im at work.  And more than slightly annoyed.

We had a huge ordeal here several months ago with a person passing through.  A open forum is not the place to tell such details, but it involved many levels of law enforcement, seizure of property, and other such things.

Anyhoo, after months, the owner is returning for his property.  And has to fix it to get out of here.  I may avoid work for a few days.

And to top it off, a local tenant was supposed to have a huge class, bbq, and many other things...well, they had to postpone because of weather, so I will have to wait till next week to get BBQ.

Woe is me.

He's really wanting to get into either a police department or at least get a different job (he's applied to a few) and get into a different field. Pray for guidance and that someone will hire him. He can't stay at his current employer much longer without going insane.

Thanks :D

I'm kind of enjoying the political discussions this election.  I haven't gotten into anything heated.  But I did say this tonight:

"I'm still listening, reading, taking it all in. It'll be very interesting to have a Mormon priest in the White House should he win. I wonder if it will change our area here since he/Mormons believe that Jesus will return to Jerusalem and then Independence, MO to set up the New Jerusalem. I wonder if that demonic spirit of Moroni will gain power and influence as well? Mormons don't believe Jesus is God, nor that God of this world is the only true God but that they will eventually transcend into equal or greater enlightenment to become their own God's. Sounds a lot like what Satan said.

I have no opinion on either of them being the anti-Christ but I wonder which one, Muslim or Mormon, more reflects what the anti-Christ will do right before Satan enters into him? Would being the leader of the free world take Romney to what he thinks is that next level toward God status?

Things I ponder."

In our distaste for Obama, I wonder if sober consideration has been given to the idea of a Mormon priest leading this nation?

Thought about it. Decided it can't be worse than having someone who sat under a pastor that taught hatred for others based on race, claims to be christian but supports every cause that is polar opposite of Christ, and has ties to, if not is a member of, the Muslim faith , which is solidly anti-jew and thus anti-christ.... And I don't have a distaste for Obama. I have a distaste for his morals and policies. I feel his election was a positive thing, initally, for the country, and had an opportunity to pull folks together and heal old hurts over racial issues. Sadly, it seems he has only further divided the nation over these issues and squandered a great opportunity.
I wonder what it would be like to have a genuinely Spirit-filled man in that position, one that sought God's will in every decision?
Either way, whether President Obama gets re-elected, or we start saying President Romney in a few weeks, this nation has strayed from its biblical foundings drastically, and I feel we are in for a rough row to hoe for a bit, anyhow. God's will be done, I know He will take us through it..

On a lighter note- Obviously the Mormons are mislead. They've got heaven about four hours too far north. Anyone whose been in Arkansas in the fall knows Heaven is in the Arkansas Ozarks and Boston Mountain Range, only a few miles from me....

I don't particularly see Obama's election as being anything particularly good in terms of healing old racial hurts....  He probably pulled a lot of the black vote just on that 'novelty' factor, so to speak...

I think that's probably why they ran Herman Cain out on a rail when he was running....  Democrats didn't want a black man running as the Republican opposition, that might split the black vote.

Ok so I didn't read all these posts since I posted last.

I just wanted to check in and let y'all know I'm alive. Been super busy with everything that happened this week, but things should slow down to normal now, and I can check in more.

The service for Ian was incredible. He would have been proud. We had a powerful move of God, and then tonight at church we had a blowout. It was just crazy how that worked. Amidst the sadness and all, God moved and we all were so broken already that He just swept in and took over. :) I REALLY prayed thru tonight...I really have been struggling for awhile now and it was good to completely surrender to God again and allow Him to melt me down again. Haha. I also shouted a bit before my meltdown. It was just a great service!

I am utterly exhausted right now. Been up since 4am and going all. Day. Long. But I'm wound up. I'll crash soon most likely.

:hi:

Pooh.  If it's a government decision it's going to be a rich man or woman one t'other, of whatever race or color they might be, making the decision, whatever it be, either way....  Especially for those in high offices.  I don't know of any of them that are poor.  I'm pretty doggone certain they've all got a heap more money than I do. lol

And on that women's health issue yadda yadda, if it's the birth control issue, I've got the solution to that.  Keep your legs crossed and shut up.  :smirk2:

There may be feasible conditions and circumstances where pills help with other conditions or something, if that's the case, fine....  But if it's just so you can enjoy your cheap thrills, that is not the responsibility of the rest of the nation to take care of that.

That'd be like wanting the government to buy your cigarettes and booze.

:-?

Anyways.

I found a recipe in my state paper two days ago that seems simple, and claims you can have fresh hot cinnamon rolls in as little as 2 and 1/2 hours........I'll be sure to post results, and if they are any good and I don't screw them up, I'll post the recipe.

That's the kind I make as well. However, it takes far less than half a day if I use the quick rise yeast.  It doesn't even need to proof, you can add it to the dry mix.

I dunno - they are meringue type cookies. They're supposed to cook 35-45 mins or until dry it says.
The meringue was whipped okay until I added the sugar..then it wasn't "whipped" anymore, just gooey.

I have to move in 2 weeks. B's house will more than likely not be finished in 2 weeks. At least I have an SUV this time to live in. [My old Saturn L200 was spacious but kinda cramped for living quarters]. I'm beyond stressed, deflated, and freezing. My parents of course still do not have the heat on, are currently gone to Ohio, and it's supposed to be in the 30's tonight.

Good morning!

After a good nights sleep, I am up and at 'em! Got up an hour and a half before the alarm! Yay! And feel really good about it. Haha.

It's a miracle!

Folding clothes now, then shower and dress for service. Oh, I need to eat too. Lol

3 slices homemade whole wheat sourdough bread

2 half-inch-thick layers of butterball (tm) turkey, sliced so thin it's falling apart

1 glop of mayo, spread evenly between the slices of bread

Combine all ingredients in layers and eat.

Sure makes it easy to be truly grateful when I thank God for the meal.  :)

Sorry, I was wrong.  The layers of turkey were closer to 3/4 inch thick.

Sis. Heather, if you could PM me an address to send them to I could send you some whole wheat sourdough bread.  Doesn't have to be your address, just a friend you can trust to receive it for you - or just a post office, with "hold for pickup."  Some of the other people on the forum can attest that the bread is at least not entirely inedible.

AAAAARGH!!!

My grandmother is watching TV and they are already starting the christmas season shows.  We haven't even had Halloween yet!

Reminds me of an old cartoon, where a woman is sitting on a mall bench, with crowds of shoppers all around, saying to her little girl, "Actually dear, nobody knows HOW Christmas got this way.  Many theologists are working very hard to figure it out."

After having a complete freak out yesterday over the state of the house I arrived at Casa de Henson this afternoon to a spotless kitchen and living room. Also what is to be my closet completely cleared out [wonky almost falling shelf included]. We picked up the rest of the trash and hauled it off. Primered the closet. Burned a bunch of stuff. Painted the bathroom. Brandon made pizza and I'm currently working on a cake. AND it's only 5 pm!! I'm feeling much better about the progress out here now and I'll definitely have somewhere to be in 2 weeks. Brandon's dad has already given me the 'This is your house too' speech a couple times.

My mom had the nerve this morning to text me and tell me to turn the heat on for them.  Are you kidding me?!?! I told her I survived the night so I'd leave it for them to deal with when they got home. I put my blankets in the dryer for 30 minutes and took a hot shower while they were in. So I cocooned down in them and fell asleep.

Morning  :hi:

Today's gonna be a good day. Yep. Good day.

Was kind of annoyed most of the weekend but things should be alright today. Need to eat something so I can take my medicine. Went to the doctor and mentioned Ibuprofen 800 mg since I see so many of my claimants taking it. My doctor just basically said "so do you want the Ibuprofen? You think that'll help?" Uhhh...aren't you the doctor? ;)

Got a nice voicemail from a doctor this morning on one of my claims  He's "disgusted" with the way our company works and that we denied the requested treatment for his patient. He hopes his patient hires an attorney and has a "long, drawn-out battle" with us. He's disgusted, upset, blah blah blah. He didn't even leave a phone # to return his call. Apparently, he just wanted to start his day off on the wrong foot.

I have a headache.  But God is good.

Seems like Church just keeps getting better and better.  I can't keep up.  God is so good and doing so much and every service is full of deep Word and Spirit that I feel like a glutton.  How can I possibly receive all this stuff and I'm not hardly doing anything in comparison.  I'm a spoiled Christian.

Put my Christmas tree up weeks ago, and been listening to Christmas music in my car, its a little piece of niceness in my life right now.
Been sleeping with a night light since I found out about Ian.. Can't sleep without it and before if it was not dark I could not sleep... Go figure...
Still busting out crying at random moments and it's been a week..
work is good.. I feel numb so life is not so bad right now.
Pastor had a meeting with me said I needed to push out of this, because since Jimmy left and now Ian's gone I'm not doing so hot with all this loss... Oh well.. It'll work out.
My tire blew out I'm about $350 in the hole right now.. maybe I'll get a raise or something..

We have some errands to do after work but it'll probably depend on the weather. A lot of things are closed. I called Medicare this morning for one of my claimants and the message said they're closed :o

At any rate, work is done for the day so I'll probably study now.

Or... I could just say that our stove is better than yours.  :P

One thing about it, I learned WHY you are supposed to "cut" the shortening in.  The little bitty lumps of shortening is what makes the crust flaky when they melt while frying/baking.

No no no, I would eat the rest of the chocolate pudding - without making it all into pies.

But cancel what I said about chocolate pies... I just found a bottle of chocolate topping in the things-I-found-at-the-salvage-grocery box.  Couldn't hurt to try it.  And if I can find any (acck, pfft!) milk chocolate around here, I'll try a s'mores pie as well.
Title: Re: No Big Words, Isaac, ol' son, because Roscoe's dense in SHARING 4-7-1!
Post by: Lynx on October 30, 2012, 06:13:42 PM
Well the s'mores pie was a bust - literally.  Marshmallow + heat = mushroom cloud.  But falling back on previous high-heat experience (which is usually like falling back full length on a set of steak knives, but...) I could cook it at higher heat and cook the crust before the marshmallow puffs up.  If I can stand the smoke in my eyes from the hotter grease...

All the rest turned out good - strawberry/balsamic jam, pear preserves, chocolate/peanut butter topping, sweet potato casserole (from a can) all fried up nicely.

I was using what I had on hand.  When I go into production mode Friday I'll have apple.  I gave Chel the last jar of apricot.  I have no love for artificial flavoring in canned lemon pie filling.  Chocolate I have covered.  Peach... refer to the comment about lemon.  Canned peaches are pallid, flavorless things.

Isaac, making lemon or lime curd (homemade filling) isn't difficult and it keeps.  I think you would rather like it.

Here is a recipe that makes lime curd for lime cheesecake bars.  I've made this and gotten great results.  I have all other times been a cheesecake failure but since this is a sheet cake of cheesecake, I had success!

ok.  You guys have me in a baking mood.   I'm going to go make 2 batches of choc. chip cookies.

One being the regular recipe that's on the pkgs of chips.  The other is one that replaces the b.soda? for cornstarch.  I've made both already but I want to test them side by side and I have a lady at church that is my cookie tester.

Well. I made it through the longest day ever.  :smirk2: And I even braved Walmart's horde of idiotic folk and picked up a handful of things we needed. Think we are gonna have meatball subs for dinner. While Lou fixes them (hopefully) I shall be studying and begging God for a crumb to share Wednesday night, since Bro Papa has advised me I'm needed again.
And y'all need to stop with the baking. I'm already fatter than I have a right to be, and everytime you say "bake" my mind associates the word "eat" with it, and I'm off to munchies land. So, it's y'all's fault that I'm fat. And I recently read a study that proved that, on average, fat people are friends with OTHER fat people. So, to recap- I'm your friend. I am fat. I am not alone. You,too, are fat. Deal with it. Better yet, bake a goodie and come to my house, we'll all console one another.  :fork: :freaky2:

Made cookies.  Nathan and Hannah are at church at the fall party.  Andrew has a slight fever so I had him eat a salad, take a shower, and go to bed.  He's out.  So I'm home.  House is quiet.

First time in a Loooooong time that Andrew is actually sick with something.  He has a fever and sore throat.  Strep is going around.  I hope it's not that, we've never had it but it sounds yucky.

Yesterday after school I had him do his homework, eat a hearty salad, take a shower and go to bed.  He was out.  So he is home today.  I'm not happy about it because I don't want him falling behind in school work.  He didn't miss a day last year.

I'm rebuking this sickness cause we can't afford going to the Dr. and I certainly don't want him on antibiotics.  So we'll see, push comes to shove, gotta do what ya gotta do.  It's our fault.  I almost sensed it was coming with the junk we've eaten lately.

To quote an old song...
"Seems like I need a change of scene
Cause every night I have the strangest dreams"

Seriously, the past two nights I have had some really bizarre, vivid dreams.  Maybe it's something I ate.  (Yeah, like THAT narrows it down...)

Speaking of food, I was thinking last night about that peach pie filling.  It seems to me that if I took a can of peaches - pallid, flavorless things though they are - took a potato masher to them, added some balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, cinnamon and a bit of orange juice concentrate, boiled it all down on the stove and let it cool..... seems to me that would make a great peach fried pie.

What say ye?  Anything I forgot in there?

I go get GOOD frozen peaches, let them thaw, toss them with the flavor I'm going for, and put in whatever I want.  Why do you have to use canned?  The frozen are pretty awesome.

Balsamic vinegar.  Much difference.

Frozen?  I didn't know you could get frozen.  Are they more expensive than canned?  I don't usually look at the frozen foods unless I'm going for Blue Bell ice cream.

LOL  Umm... I pretty much buy any fruit out of season for things like pies, frozen.

I don't know how you'd compare the price?  They are frozen right away, still retaining FRESH flavor and vitamins.  None of which you get from a can full of junk to preserve it.  I use far less sugar, if any, depending on the fruit I'm using.  Blueberries I don't even thaw, I just toss them with a bit of flour or cornstarch and spices and then add them to what I want.  With canned you are able to buy super cheap stuff so canned for generic low quality is always going to be cheaper.  With frozen, the only price range is regular to organic.  I usually buy regular.  Wal-mart has Great Value brand of frozen fruit.

Even some of the fruit that when thawed loses some firmness, like strawberries, still do well in pies.

OMGOSH! I saw a wreck on my way home yesterday. It was RIGHT...BESIDE...ME. I even saw the lady's head push forward when she got hit. Soooo glad it wasn't me.

Also went to PT for the first time yesterday. Waited 30 minutes to have my back massaged for 30 minutes. That's basically all she did. I could pay less for a massouse.

The only problem with not going to the Dr. is that when someone is sick and then gets better w/o conventional meds, people assume they just really weren't that sick...lol  I notice people do that about prayer sometimes too.  Kind of defeats the purpose to go to the Dr. for him to tell ya you're sick, prescribe meds, just to not take them to show that God does supplement what we need in HIS creation to repair this old carcass.

14mo. to Obamacare.  I can't afford to have it nor to not have it.  Blah.  I don't think Romney will change it enough to count either if he wins.  We will be entering into official socialism.

If it worked so great there wouldn't be so many coming to America for surgeries because they're so long down the waiting list in their own country.  Gov't paid healthcare = something else for them to mess up.

I'm thankful for a job that pays for half of my healthcare (insurance). Unfortunately, I only have medical. I have to pay outright for dental, vision, whateverelse. My husband's job doesn't offer it, so we will be forced to buy some. He needs it tho.. Can we say accident prone? LOL.

Anywho. My friend's husband was in a wreck yesterday morning. He's in surgery now (a very long one). Any wrong movement and he could've been paralyzed. We're saying prayers for him, her, their kiddos, and the medical team working on him. He will be wearing a halo when he comes out of surgery and will stay on for about 6-8 weeks. They JUST had a baby like.. a week or two ago now. She JUST got to come home from the hospital last week after some improvements she needed to achieve. This makes three little darling girls for Randal to come home HEALTHY to. Pray for Ashley, as well.. I can't imagine the stress of this surgery/recovery as well as taking care of her kiddos.

btw - Turkey Month! Gobble Gobble! YUM!

It's a video about this guy interviewing a cluster of people who were standing on the corner, holding signs for Obama.  The interviewer asked why vote for Obama?  The lady he asked went on a rant which basically boiled down to "He gave us a phone!  If you're on disability, food stamps, welfare, etc you get a phone!"

An old man at my first full time job told me "if you want to find the easist way to get your job done, find the lazyest person doing it. They'll know all of the shortcuts 'cause they don't like to work."  :laughhard: Maybe that's why they are seeking you out.  :hypocrite:

Free to them maybe- look on your cell phone bill. You will see a tax that goes to pay for them. Saw a video on it yesterday, which instantly made me pig biting mad all over again when I looked at my cell phone bill and found it...

And yup, we're paying for their welfare cell phones.

Yep, we are paying for them.  Often there are two taxes.  A federal one that goes to welfare people, and a Universal one that goes to illegal immigrants.  It's like a dollar something each.

And that is the point.  Kkay wants free healthcare cause she doesn't want to pay for things.  Which means those of us paying taxes are paying for others' healthcare. No thank you.  Please pay your own bills.  There is NO such thing as Free healthcare.  Somebody has to pay for it.

Yeah, I pay it. And I move on. But it still irritates me when I arrest someone who has a welfare phone.....and another phone and I've arrested them for selling weed. And yes, I have done that. Those phones have been a thorn to me for a while- they actually started under President Bush, I believe, but their use has grown under President Obama. I was against them when the President I supported initiated it, and I ain't changed a bit under the President that I did not support.

I'm against the act not the President. If they feel the needy need a phone, I'd be in favor of it being a landline. Less opportunity for them to use it to run their criminal enterprises- not saying all needy are criminals...

Roscoe  :pound: Not nice!

And - yes, the free phone for the needy is maybe not the BEST thing, but it still helps those unemployed to get a job and helps single mothers, etc. make sure they have access to a phone if something happens to their little ones. If you give someone a cell phone, it comes with voicemail. If you give someone a home phone, you'd have to make sure they have voicemail as well in case a job calls. All-in-all, I'd say I agree with it. It would just be nice if they had an actual "bank account" for it instead of charging everyone else.

Do you mean the phone tax?  It's annoying but there's nothing we can do about it.  Or do you mean Obamacare?  That one is going to hit pretty hard.  More taxes leaves less money for extra offerings and contributing to church stuff, and going to events like the kids going to church camp.

I think so yes.  There is an inherent need however, to not simply complain but reaffirm our understanding of injustices and think of solutions to validify our God given sense.  Otherwise we'll all just run around looking for free stuff at someone else's expense.  I worry more about those that don't care... until it affects them OR they care about other things just as unchangeable but gladly complain...lol

There's a lot of affects that go along with government health care.  The potential is frightening.  Do you think all Germans were just super evil and welcomed the euthanization of the mental and elderly far before they started targeting the Jews?  No, it progressed faster than what we see but that does not exempt us.

What's worse to me is for some even to act like nothing like that can happen here or happen before the rapture is naive at best.  The USA isn't exempt from anything else other countries, even Israel, has endured.

I wasn't brought up to have a direct interest in stuff such as this. I wasn't dissuaded, but I wasn't encouraged either. So it's even now, not much a priority for me to find out my own information on subject matters such as these.

This is also why I don't complain - or try not to about issues I can't really control. I do believe our world will be in chaos, and things we'd NEVER though we'd see will happen before the rapture. His Word says so. But again, it's still something that I cannot control. I choose to just trust in God's Word, and what his plan is for our future. I believe things will happen according to his plan regardless of what we do. My goal is to just reach those who don't know God and live my life as He would have me, instead of focusing on inevitable political issues.

Just my  :twocents:

I don't completely disagree Jenn.  I go a bit back and forth.  I feel accountable to let my voice be heard on whatever level that it's listened to, from the lost to the government.  But I do believe God alone sets up kings.  How much power God gives us to affect our nation outside of prayer still seems grey.

sorry to be so serious!  I have so enjoyed all the conversations this election cause it's never gotten heated.  Sorry if it seemed heated, when others are, it's easy to read that into someone else's posts.

I'm so _all kinds of proud mama words_ of Andrew.  In his youth group, different ones are called on (if they're interested) to teach a little devotional.  His is next Tuesday and he told me today that the Lord's been dealing with him about Joy, and to talk about that.  I'm wondering if I can listen from the hallway.. lol

Look at you, raising a little preacher man. I can see his testimony now....."raise by a mother who loves weed...."  :laughhard:  :P

And I enjoy the discussions, but I have really strong opinions on alot of political issues, I guess because I am around politics all day. I know others have different opinions, and I don't want to risk coming across as brash and arrogant. I'd rather never mention a political thought again than risk offending people here, who I hold as dear as life long friends, even if we see things polar opposite politically. After all, God's in control, and whatever happens, He will still be my provider and king- I guess I am on"GOD Welfare". And there's no place I'd rather be.
That's why I try to watch what I say on political discussions.
Not to say I won't throw a comment in from time to time, I just hope anyone who reads anything I write knows that I am not attacking them personally.

*prays for Mel*

I have a bazillion things to do and do not have a good plan to be productive.  Perhaps a cup of coffee will put things into perspective.

Things on my mind: God gives repentance AND forgiveness, not just the latter.

In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;  2Ti 2:25

Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.  Act 5:31

When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.  Act 11:18

I think I feel pain and heartache from others. Like I care too much. For some people, when then hurt, I do too...maybe not as much as they do cause its them that is living the situation, but I physically hurt for my friends. Not all of them. But some. Why do I feel that way for some and not others? And why do I feel that way at all? It doesn't seem to affect other mutual friends of theirs in the way that it affects me. I liturally can make myself sick with worry, and lose countless hours of sleep and have nightmares when I do sleep. All about said people.

The people I am MOST worried about are not associated with this board in any way except thru me and Kimber. Although I AM worried about a few GPers, not quite like this...at least not this time.

There are some people that are unfortunant enough to care too much......It's a gift, actually, although I'm sure it doesn't feel that way. I have a few super close friends that affect me in similar manners, but these are people I would literally kill for. And it absolutly rips your heart out and can make you physically ill when you see a trial they are going through, or a path they are taking, and are completely helpess to stop them or help them. I know- I've stood by and watched family and friends, knowing without a doubt how a situation was going to turn out, prayed for them, warned them- to no avail. Praying for ya sis....

And in my worl- I got up, took Chey to school, went by WallyWorld and I've made it to the library. Gotta run back home, get something for the pastor, and head to the bbq stand... :fork:

You don't necessarily reduce the AMOUNT, just the type of food :) You can technically eat anything you want - as long as it's not sugar or starch. I've tried that before and lost around 20 lbs. Kept it off until recently when I started eating EVERYTHING.

Anyway, the day's going by pretty slow considering I have nothing to do.

*SIGH*

Heaven would be nice right about now. I'm so tired of this world and all it's troubles.

Yeah, that.

Curiously, I find myself in full agreement with Isaac.  :laughhard:
I've enjoyed a pleasant day....I went on a junkyard crawl which sadly, netted me nothing. I enjoyed a pleasant visit with Bro and Sis Papa, and highly recommended he wander back in here, which he said he would try to do. While there, I availed myself of one of the best cheeseburgers on earth- a Black Angus Smoked Cheeseburger with Bro Papa's own bbq sauce.  :fork:
I took advantage of this time to send a pic to Taco and Mini to advise them of what they were missing. If Isaac was a member of the 21st century with a smartphone, I would've tormented him too.  :P for some reason, I didn't torment Mel or Seth. Don't know why. Awful failing on my part, I shall rectify that mistake at the nearest available opportunity.  :biglaugh:
And Rusty had a bad taillight, so I fixed that today. Got to drive him around 60 miles or so, so it was a good day. Now we are fixin' to have fish fillet sandwiches and fries....

Happy Friday everyone :hi:

To everyone frustrated with things like welfare, abortions, food stamps, etc... I'll just say it this way: thank you for helping to keep food on the table for my boys this year. :smirk2: Believe me, I don't like this arrangement any more than you do. In fact, I probably like it less. But I'm not going to grumble and complain at HOW God provided for us this year. The point is: He did. And it seems awfully arrogant of me to try to tell Him how I'd prefer He met my family's needs.

Seth, how's the ebay sales going for you? Mine have been really REALLY slow lately, and then just this week I've had a couple decent sized orders come through. So weird how it goes in waves.

My heart is absolutely broken for a good friend of mine right now. I hate those times when there is absolutely NOTHING you can say to help or make the pain go away. Some things can only be fixed by God Himself. And even that takes people working with him. And when you're talking about multiple people involved in a scenario.... well, sometimes one or two people get stuck with horrible garbage because one individual refuses to do things God's way. *sigh* I desperately wish there was something, ANYthing I could do. I'm praying, but that's really all I can do.

:hi: And Ms wooby, please let me clarify- I do NOT have a problem with government assistance when it is given to deserving people needing a hand up, not a hand out. Believe me, I know ALL about needing assistance. I usually don't talk much about the finances of my family when I was growing up, because my parents did the best they could. Like many people, they got dealt a bad hand of life.

My family was not always as blessed as I am now. My father, a man with a 3rd grade education, was a kidney transplant recipeant that was unable to work from about the time I turned 12 years old. He learned to read by going over the Accelerated Christian Education Paces I brought home from kindergarten.
And my mama didn't have a high school diploma. In fact, her most prestigious job was as a kindergarden teacher at our church's private school. She excelled at it. Her salary? My tuition. I grew up on "government cheese" and I am thankful that the program was there....it would've made a bad situation become alot worse to not have it.
No, I think the welfare program is a good thing- I just hate how it is being abused. Anyone can need a hand up. sometime, I might have to apply for assistance for my family. All of us in this economic climate is in reality just days away from hunger or homelessness.

...But I have family who live off of the system. The longest time some of them hold a job is for a couple of months a year so they can file income tax refunds and get unearned income credit......And all that is wrong with them is they are lazy.. And that's my rant/explaination. Please, no one think I am belittling you or think less of you if you are on a program.
Now if fifteen years from now you are still on it, and have not made any effort to improve your lot in life- then you might not like me. :laughhard:

Shrewby, I actually didn't list much on Ebay this year.

I actually ran into our mailman in the grocery store this afternoon while I was doing cards and he was grocery shopping and he asked about my egg shipping, or lack thereof...lol

It was back earlier in the season the last time I listed anything.  I had less of some types of eggs this year than last, used more myself, sold local, etc., various reasons.

Aw Roscoe, I wasn't pointing any fingers at any anyone here. I guess maybe it's a touchy subject this year for me. I've been given a whole new picture of life during the last two years or so. I suppose a lot of people have. I think swallowing my pride enough to actually go apply for food stamps was one of toughest things I've done in recent past. It felt like admitting I was a failure. Especially when so many people in line around me were flaunting iphones, ipods, ipads, and talking about where they're going on vacation or whatever. And then to feel like the people I had to talk to were assuming I was one of "those" people, and... eh, skip it. It doesn't really matter. But you're right - "All of us in this economic climate is in reality just days away from hunger or homelessness." That scares the socks off me. But at the same time, I think a whole lot of us are learning to rely on God in new ways. And that doesn't seem to matter what age you are or long you've known Him, because I've talked to people much older and wiser than myself that are learning new things about trusting God lately.

Cheese - Selling local is good. :)

Kaitlyn and I played three games of Carcasonne today. And are tied. So tomorrow we must do a rematch. And I shall win. By hook or by crook. :hypocrite: Oops! And I said that in front of Officer Bob. *grin*

ditto.  And the same with health care.  There are times it is needed.  And while I believe it's the Church's job to help in those areas, it is what it is.  I was on Title19 for Andrew being born, and I was thankful.  As soon as we could, we were off that.  I was on WIC when the kids were little and I feel that's nearly the same thing as food stamps.  Gov't supplementing.  Ruby, I would be shocked if you ever alluded to wanting free things at others' forced expense.  You are not that type of person, and I thank you.  Also, there is a big difference to ME, between someone who is working, paying taxes but still struggling and needing assistance compared to the families where no one is working.  I'm sure Chris is bustin his rear to make ends meet as every good man does!

I don't think those who take issue with welfare are against charity.  Just the lack of wisdom in it's structure.

I guess what bothers me the most is that when some people fall back into sin, and it's just a glitch, they come out of it...it usually only affects you and those closest to you. But when you are in some sort of ministery, and you fall bad enough to have reprecurssions, like being pulled from your ministries for a season, it doesn't just affect you and yours, but an entire church and community. All because of your selfish actions.

I am no where NEAR perfect. I don't claim to be. But I just don't understand the actions of others, especially when it DIRECTLY harms and has potential to destroy all the good that was previously accomplished.

God knows. And like all the other mess that has tried to destroy our church this year, we will make it thru this. It's just gonna take some time. Since I am pretty close to the situation and the people in it, I suppose I feel worse about it than others.

I slept some better last night, knowing my friend was alive and safe, but this morning feeling the pain again because of the long journey I see ahead. For all of us.

/early morning ramble.

The fried pies sold rather well at work.  There were only six left to take to the ladies bazaar.

What's that?  What am I doing making fried pies (and sourdough bread) for a LADIES bazaar?  Beats me, but every year they make sure to ask me if my bread is going to be there.  And usually it's the pastor, assistant pastor, youth pastor and a couple of other guys cooking the turkey-and-dressing and all the other food for the lunch plates.  Oddest ladies bazaar I know of...  :P

Another wedding today.  There are 4 weddings in a row around here.  I'm glad they are all unique because I cannot afford to get gifts for them all.  Let alone all the showers.  One I wasn't terribly close to, today's couple is moving far away tomorrow so they aren't wanting to take a lot with them, next week's I am close to, the following week's I am not close to but Andrew is since it's a very young couple that was just in his youth group.  I thought spring was the wedding season!

Still ain't figured this out- couple has lived together for several years, has a three year old son, does not attend church- and they're having a full blown dress-up-in-tuxes church wedding. Why?!? Never understood that....

I'm trying to decide what I'm gonna do. Don't have the money to do a junkyard crawl for parts I need, so that's out. I may wander back over to the bbq stand.... :fork:

I guess I'm making Lou feel akward then.. :smirk2:
This one is- and I know this is about to make me sound like the worst husband ever- her brother's. He was raised in church but hasn't attended in several years. I don't dislike him- but we are not especially close either. He knows that I rarely do family events. I dunno, our entire "family" deal is weird. There won't be any offense by me not being there....we've not saw him, his bride to be or son in several months, other than once in the grocery store.
Her family is close- but not really, if that makes sense, and my family's closeness fell apart when Alzhiemer's took Mama out of it. Thus, the only family deal we have is one sister of mine and each other....Lou will go to get to gethers with her family, but they are rare too. Now thats clear as mud, I think I'm gonna wander a bit in Rusty. :P

Heather - hurray for sleeping in new homes!!

Roscoe - I hate weddings like that. When it's a couple who has tried to do things right, or even a couple who didn't do things right and then tried to get back on track... those I'll go to. And happy to join the celebration. But when it's people who have lived together for years, and have a house, and have a kid (or kidS)... what is the POINT of having a huge wedding.  Um, other than wanting gifts. I have a hard time celebrating when there isn't anything to celebrate.  :smirk2:

Isaac - Sour dough bread sounds really good right now. Wanna overnight flight some to us? *grin*

Gifts are good.  Maybe that's the only reason they had the wedding.  :D

SippinTea I have learned I can send some of this starter through the mail, if you want to take up making sourdough bread.  It takes a while to make though - mostly waiting for it to rise twice, which is a good 3 hours per rising.  Depends how much free time you have.

Well. I wandered to Bro Papa's and got a pleasant surprise.....Bro Terry Long, who pastors a small church about thirty miles away, and who is a wonderful man of God, was there, so I got to talk with him, my pastor, AND eat a BBQ Frito Pie. 'twas great.
Then I wandered around a bit in rusty and decided it was such a pretty day I would go check on Daddy's grave. It's about thirty miles away, in a family cemetary that dates back to the 1800s, way out in the country. It was great!

Even though I cried a little and realized just how much I miss the old man, who's been gone three years this month....the drive was pleasant and one that he and I had enjoyed together many times. I just rode around little back roads with the windows down and a cold pop, thinking about old times and viewing some of the land that has been in my family for 100 years...I really wish some of it had made its way to me, just for the sentiment of it, but unfortunantly, other family members wound up with it.

I was amazed at how some old memories come flooding back...one look at my great grandmother's grave instantly took me back to four years old, standing in her kitchen while she took the top off of a huge green frog cookie jar that always held a little boy's favorite treats...and the memory of her husband, Pa, telling stories of his dad hiding moonshine in the storm cellar from the sheriff.
And I'm rambling now. Oops.  :laughhard:

And a bit of sharing I failed to put out yesterday- I went by my former place of employment and visited with some dispatcher friends I haven't saw in a while. One of them, a very dear older lady, told me to wait while she went to her car, as she had something for me. It was this t-shirt.....

I love it. It is SO true.  :hypocrite:

Aaah!  Church was awesome.  My pastor preached on how yes, God has mercy and grace and restoration for the lost sheep but that falling is over rated.  It's better to stand!  He talked about the other 99 sheep, how their testimonies may not be as dramatic but they are so powerful.  He talked about the unity and safety in the fold, how the 1 lost sheep Jesus goes after but that straggling sheep invites danger closer to the rest of the sheep.  It's never just about the one lost, it affects everyone.  He also talked about Jacob, how when he persisted with God, his name, who he was, was changed forever.  He didn't continue with the same mess, it was put under his feet.  He was no longer the Jacob the deceiver but Israel the prince.  He talked about how grace does NOT negate living an overcoming life.  Such a great sermon.  I am forever changed.  The preaching gets recorded, I think I want to get it and listen to it again.

Hannah's friend has a skating party this afternoon.  I'm exhausted but happy.  I get to be a SAHM and work a part time job while homeschooling one of my kids.  God is good.

If ya'll get a chance say a prayer for the church  where I got the Holy Ghost in Alabama. After 30 some odd years the pastor walked in and resigned today with no warning. Nothing bad just feels it's time to go but the church is still in shock. This is the only pastor that has ever been there.

Off to church soon.

yeah, they are behind on getting them uploaded.  Which stinks cause I would say the last 6mo. have been the best teaching/preaching I've had my whole life.  But there are some I specifically ordered and have.  Like I have the CDs for the last Mantle Conf. we just had.

Church was AWESOME this morning. During worship at the beginning of service there was a great ushering in of healing (physical, emotional, etc) and there was a HUGE move of God. God showed up before Brother Ketron could even preach and demonstrated what he WAS going to preach about. We also had 1 receive the Holy Ghost!

I got the majority of my things moved from my parents house and 80% of it organized. I'm really ready not to have to move for a few years God willing.....

Speaking of weddings, Bro. Doug Smith, a young evangelist from Indianapolis got married today in Dayton, OH....

Last night after their wedding rehearsal dinner, his wife-to-be's father suddenly and unexpectedly died.

They went ahead on with the wedding.  That HAD to be a very emotional wedding for sure.  They've been in my thoughts today.

 How horridly sad.

Heather, I totally echo Mel's sentiment. :) And (assuming we lived in the same area, and assuming I was invited) I would LOVE to come to your wedding! Err, JOP's office or whatever. ;)

It's looking like tomorrow is going to be crazy busy. I didn't 'specially want it that way, but it is what it is. Hoping to grab about an hour mid-afternoon to pop by mom's house and spend a little bit of time with everyone there. Haven't seen them much lately.

Took Chelleebelle to work way early this morning.  She is traveling to Atlanta Georgia today.  Which means she will be passing through a few places...like Little Rock and a even more unsavory place, Alabama.  They were supposed to leave at 5:30 AM, and we waited...and waited...finally she left about 6:30.  *sigh*

Now begins my week without my wife here...now, where is that kitchen?  *cough*

Grandma keeps asking, "What on earth are you going to do with all that music?"  Well, back in late August I made a note of the date 8/28/2012 as the day I started over at A, listening to my music at work.  My player plays through the albums alphabetically.  Last week, after more than 44 standard 8-hour work days (minus three for the Fridays we missed in October,) my music collection went through the last Y- album.

What am I going to do with all this music?  Listen to it of course.  What else would you do with music?

Made brownies, baked bacon, and need to make an apple pie.

Nathan is not working late tonight, Praise the Good Lord.

On the testimony of a friend who has a lovely complexion/skin, I simplified my face washing from the honey-oat flour-baking soda followed with raw coconut oil to just coconut oil and baking soda.  It's like microdermabrasion!  It's so easy and the coconut oil soaks right in and doesn't leave my face greasy.  It's kind of amazing.  In case anyone wanted to know.  :)

These people with my phone are rediculious. I go and pay the bill a few days early every month, but I wake up this morning and my phone is shut off...last month Dads was shut off, even though it was paid before cutoff time.

So that means I have to go down there today when they open and get it turned on again. Sheesh. They don't seem to know what they are doing.

If the service wasn't so cheap and if we didn't get good coverage, we would try something else, but this is the best in the area...besides the fact that one of the phones gets shut down even when the bill is paid. :smirk2:

Oh, and good morning. Sorry about the immediate rant. But when you wake up and realize you don't have a phone and should have, it's a cause for disgruntlement.

Thank God for WiFi!

Gonna take a shower, drop dad off at Dialysis, come back and pray, go eat breakfast with Granny and Ann, go vote, then now I'll be going to the phone place before time to pick dad up.

Happy Tuesday! :hi:

So we are not so much voting for Romney as we are voting against Obama?

For some reason I'm reminded of all the people who are getting Linux these days - not because they want Linux, but because they are fed up with all the Windows viruses and spyware.  Then they keep complaining that things work different in Linux.  They're not going TO Linux necessarily, they're just wanting to get AWAY from Windows.  :-\

It's the lesser of the two evils.

And personally, I would rather a Mormon be in office than a Muslim. Mormons are at least closer to our beliefs than Muslims.

I'm not sure that Obama is Muslim. His father and step-father were Muslim but he was raised in a "secular" household. His mother was Christian but taught him about all different religions. He studied at both a Muslim school and a Catholic school.

So, in essence, you can't really say he's any religion.

And, in my opinion, just because someone is a Mormon doesn't make them any better than anyone else - including someone who practices the Muslim religion.

*steps off soapbox and waits for the criticism*

Even if someone was Pentecostal.. I'd have to be wary in electing them based solely (or even kinda mainly) on religion. Wolves are in sheep clothing in any religion. And even when they aren't pure evil (or whatever it takes to be a wolf in sheep clothing), they may profess the religion but not hold true to all the beliefs/standards.. so.. in any case, my point is that they're human, and you can't take it at face value - but we all know that. :)

And besides.. Presidents can't do anything on their own. They need Congress & Supreme Court as well.. I'm almost more "non-partisan" than I wish to be "bi-partisan." :) Our system is like a giant tug-of-war, with little getting done to really help us now and in our future.

In other news...my phone was off cause the prepaid card wasn't entered correctly...exactly why dads was shut off last month. No fault of ours at all since we just pay the company and they enter the information on the computer.

Maybe next month they will get it right.

Agreed.

And kkay, I actually "blessed" you for that post. :hypocrite:  I don't care what religion he is, I just don't care for his record and ideas for the country. For what it's worth, I don't care for some of Romney's either....but I personally feel his policies and ideas- at this time- more closely mirror my own. I fear that, like any politician, if elected, he will just fulfilled the promises made that best serve him.... Lord.
No matter....I shall go vote for the people that in my opinion profess most of my values, and let the Lord judge them and keep me...

I won't criticize you or smite you on this topic. I usually steer clear of political discussions. So I won't be debating or saying anything more about any of it. I said the way I feel and that's the end of that.

:great:
Go Mel...... :hypocrite:  :laughhard:

I LOVE that we get to cast our say.  The numbers will show not who we are against or any other feelings, only what we are for.  If Obama wins again *cringe* then folks, the majority of the country is FOR that mess and it is what it is.

I read 54 million people don't vote which only says ONE thing:  54 million don't care.  All the other reasons are lost on them not voting.  I wish presidents were elected on popular vote only, I wish that we could say more with a simple or lack thereof vote but we can't so thank God for what we have.

SHHHH! What are you trying to do, shut down the economy?  Human nature of complaining about what we don't have is what keeps people throwing away perfectly good iphones and selling their cars to get the latest, greatest ones.   :nono:

Yea that.
I don't have any say so in this matter. Or the right to complain. So I don't.
But I'm just tired of the whole mess.

Try living in Ohio.  More than 20 calls in an hour sometimes, all playing recorded messages at you.  Only way to survive is turn off the phone and radio for a good two or three months.

So, one smite and one blessing. At least it's even now :P

I saw this one editorial cartoon on Halloween with a guy dressed in an Ohio sports jersey.  His wife was leading him back indoors, saying "Come on honey, this is Minnesota, not Ohio.  The candidates aren't coming."

Speaking of jokes and such...

I heard a joke this morning about a married couple who were at the store. He wanted to leave and, of course, she wasn't ready. So, he yells as loud as he can "Are you ready yet, mother of 6???" Well, this made her upset that he just called her out like that so she yelled back "Not yet, father of 4!!!"

hehe :hypocrite:
