*snaps the belt at all the hissy fitters*
I'm thankful today that I don't have cancer. (Study on my family said I had 85% chance by 28)
I'm thankful neither of my children are handicapped. (I lost my first baby during the 2nd trimester)
I'm thankful I have Godly friends that love me. (I didn't have many friends at all growing up)
I'm thankful that the body of Christ fills in the gaps. (There are only a few people in my family I interact with)
I'm so thankful to have truth and a good church that helps me stay the course. (The last 5 generations of my Pentecostal family have backslid, most ended their lives full of drugs and perversion)
I'm so thankful for a marriage that's going forward in God. (I'm a step kid, I have too many friends that are/have lost their marriage)
I'm thankful Nathan works hard and provides. (Too many rely on the government now and are struggling to make it)
I'm thankful for a true man of God pastor. (I've seen and been under corrupt leadership before, it's such a heavy burden)
I'm thankful to be an American consecutively after being a Christian. (My friend in Turkey is being harrassed and threatened right now. Lord knows what will happen if they're found out to be more than entrepeneurs) 30 million Pentecostals to date in the underground China church)
The list goes on. The weather is beautiful today, I'll probably mow the lawn, cook something on the grill for dinner, do Hannah's hair for cell group, kiss my hubby when he comes home from work, get an oversized hug from my son who is bigger than me... But oh, all of it, I still long to see Him face to face. I still wanna sit at his feet and hug his ankles like a child, I wanna feel his authoritative hand on my head... I want to be with Jesus more. I want to see a bazillion more people get saved, I want to share truth with more people and see them stick with it. I want to see the kingdom of God operating with miracles and wonders for His Glory and testimony.
About to head to the airport...
My desk drawer just randomly rolled open....ha ha
I just watched/ <a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-15288865">read a story[/url] on US child abuse by BBC. I know it's all over the world, but terrible none the less. What I wonder is how much abuse is gone unaddressed in our own church families? One of the things I use as "fruit" of Jehova's Witnesses is their "must have a witness" problem when it comes to them addressing it. I wonder if we know the signs in our churches? I wonder if there are churches with seminars, classes on the subject? We have seminars on everything else it seems.
I wonder if I speak to and shake hands and hug someone that is dying inside because of this issue? Adult or child. It's easy to think without actually thinking it through that that isn't going on in OUR church. But more than likely... it is. We know everyone battles all sorts of things, why would this not be one of them?

Pretty much, Isaac. And yes, MY, I can guarantee that you DO know these people. For every 15-20 people my family knows about that is literally dying on a church pew, the congregation as a whole MIGHT know about 1. Maybe.
I have inclinations, times led in prayer but nobody has ever told me anything so while those thoughts have crossed my mind about folks, I am NOT one to assume that I just know. Which would be hard for me to know possibly cause I would want to knock them out with my cast iron skillet.

Where is everyone?
Church! Lol
I W2CCH.
I just got home from church. Lol
I've been sewing this dress.
So I was REALLY excited about my new little hobby, I took the most care cutting, trimming, marking, and ironing.
I started to piece it all together and sew it, first the top of the dress then the bottom, I was really thrilled at the process I was making.
I just KNEW I would get to wear it for church Thursday night (that's our normal midweek service).
As I held it up My face fell, as I tried it on my mom covered her face, and when I hung it back up we BOTH laughed so hard it was almost impossible to breathe...
It turns out that there are mulitiple sizes on a pattern!! Wish someone would have told me this before lol.. I made a 28W dress and when I put it on it looks like a moomoo on me. My mom is showing me how to make pleats now and how to take up a dress, at least I will be able to fix almost anything I mess up now, next I will learn about zippers!
You're behind, Jerbil. I've had a new mattress for a few years. I've only slept on it a handful of times though.
If anybody needed the Amish, I do....Lands...just got done tending fowl and cleaned up....started building the garden fence today.....
Gotta go to bed and go work the card job tomorrow...and the next day.

Morning, all. :hi: 'tis my Firday....I am pleased. Gotta stop on the way home to get some little parts for Rusty, and I'm gonna start putting him back together either tonight or tomorrow . Hopefully, re-assembly won't take as long, and I'll stop bothering/boring you/ whining about not driving him. :laughhard:..
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
I'm at work.
That's awesome Kmymbir! lol For the most part, life is good memories. I don't know if it can be found online but there is an old episode of The Cosby show where the older sister offers to make a shirt for the teenage brother to save him money. She totally botches it, very hilarious. That's basically how I sew... lol I keep trying though!
A storm front moved in this morning. It's a wonderful calm temperature and dark as all get out. We're supposed to have thunderstorms all day. I love thunder, storms, I've wondered if I'd enjoy the hurricanes you get down there?
Walmart just started carrying Woks. So they had a special for $4. Nathan was just asking about them, what they were, did, last week. I took it as a sign I should buy one. (http://urduart.com/gallery/data/682/girly025_2.gif)

I've driven through one or two of them, literally right through the eye, it was amazing!
I think you'd like being a storm chaser it's gorgeous at times. I love wind and rain, and I love the freshness after a storm has passed, we had a storm last night and this morning the birds are chirping and the grass looks a little bit greener!
It's still storming off and on in town. I dropped dad off at Dialysis, and I'm hanging out at the church till time to pick him up, and it came a good storm again awhile ago. And it's still raining now.
:hi:
It keeps looking like rain all week, but so far nothing.
I just don't want it to rain Saturday. So I can get in the pool! SIL is coming over again!

I'm pretty sure my computer is going to crash again. Bleh. I wish I could afford a new one. When someone hand builds it, nobody can fix it apparently.
Well, no storms. It's a beautiful muggy day out. Half my yard is mowed so I better do the rest... lol
Sandra, did Adina get off alright?
That moment in midweek service when you hear God tell you to buy your ex-husband a wedding gift. Yea, I'm confused by it too but it is what it is.....
Took a day off. Doing laundry and hanging with mom.
Car is being kinda wonky today. But it's still running so PTL!!
MellowYellow the problem with home built computers is, who knows what hardware they used? With a standard, off-the-shelf computer you can go to the manufacturer's website, look up the computer model and get a list of drivers to download for that particular model's hardware. With a home built one you have to pop the top and see if the manufacturer wrote the model number on that sound card or video card or whatever, and usually they didn't.
Exactly Isaac. I believe I traced it back to some hardware that is out of date and instead of making something to make it compatable, they didn't. Microsoft that is. This friend worked on school computers and that is where he got the parts. Unfortunately, it's more than we know what to do with. It's frustrating though.
MY, Dina & Chel got off but that is the last I heard. Really anxious to hear that they made it there safely.
*Hugs* Sandra
:beret:
Sis. Sandra: Where are they off to now? They gadabout so much it's hard to keep track.
MellowYellow: If that computer were here I would boot from a Linux disk, see if everything works with it. It's free, you don't have to install to test it out, no risk at all. In fact, you don't have to install to use it long-term - I know a friend who ran from the live disk for half a year. If your computer has a CD burner I can tell you how to download and burn off a bootable image disk. Couldn't hurt, probably will help. :thumbsup2:
Isaac, that all overwhelms me just reading it.
That's just because it's unfamiliar. It's actually really simple. And as I said, it can't hurt your computer to try it, and it will probably help. And it's free, so if it doesn't work all you're out is a blank CD.
Oh well, at least I tried.
Thankful that they're finally there. That is all I know at the moment, but I feel better.
Yay! :hyper:

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Went to work. Was going to do 3 stores, but only got two, cause the boss and her boss :freaky: were meeting me at the second one, and she wanted me to go ahead get all the Mother's Day and Graduation backstock put on display, so I did and that went over the normal time and blah blah.... She was so on edge acting with her boss with her.
AND, she asked if I would be willing to get the Mother's Day backstock up at Target and straighten the department up there.... I have NO time to do anything...but I said yes..... *dies* Cause the Target girl apparently is not doing a very good job of it again.....I guess they like my work if they call on me to go fix other people's messes. :-?
So I have to do my other stores tomorrow and I'll have to do Target Saturday...blah..... Lands.
The good news is I think they have somebody that's going to take the Spencer area route once their paperwork goes through so I won't have to do the far away ones...that will help things not be such a pain in the pooty toot.
It's hot in here.
/me weeps.
/me hugs Seth
I'm so tired.
I wish I could sleep in. But getting up with Dad every morning to go to Drs, and Wound care and Dialysis has me getting up early every day.
My throat is really sore this morning, and I have a headache.
Tomorrow is Dialysis, nursing home ministery, then I'll be at church all day for a long meeting, and Youth if we do anything. Then Sunday is church and a staff meeting after. I may get to sleep on Monday. Depending on if Dad has to go anywhere early. Lol
Howdy, I'm at work.
Casting Crowns concert last night. Royal Tailor was there too. :smirk2:

Grocery shopping today and then a mtg with other ladies about coupons. Never been to one before. I generally don't use coupons as they're usually for overpriced name brand junk food anyway. However, my friend is having an afternoon get together where everyone brings coupons, or even if you don't have any, come and sort through them, take what you want and visit. So I'm going, if for nothing else, some adult interaction.
I like RT.
I do not.
Why not?
They have some good songs.
Several reasons actually.
1. SO not my style of music. At all.
2. I don't agree with some of the things they do, or the way they act. I think they are a terrible representation of the Apostolic faith. I think it's confusing to those who don't know our faith; or may know about what we do and why we do it, and see RT act differently, but still acknowledge that they are "apostolic".
Just my :twocents:
I'm very picky about my music; and even more so when they are Apostolic/UPC. :thumbsup2:
I'm heavily involved in music ministry, and I take it very seriously....and I think a lot of people don't. They think it's a way to express themselves in whatever manner they see fit, without actually listening to the voice of God and following the way his Spirit is moving while they sing/play.
Which also includes the things I listen to myself!
I don't agree with their representation, but I do like their style of music. Most of it anyway.
I used to not listen to anything other than like good choir music and UPC artists. I moved here, and got involved with the Youth, and they listen to RT, and others, and I found myself listening to more of that. I do enjoy it now. But there is still nothing like some good ole fashioned Apostolic choir music where you can have a Jesus party in the car! Lol
I have no clue about Royal Tailor, I'm not sure I've even heard of them. But good post Jenn, I agree in a general sense about Apostolic music and in a broader sense, Christian music.
I can't remember what his name was but a popular classic Christian artist that "came out" just a few years back said we would all be astounded to know how many homosexuals are in the Christian music business. That they are just biding their time to when they feel they can come out too. That it was almost common. Now, I can sense some of that with what I would consider fringe Christian music cause clearly they are not following the Word/God but it still sits in the back of mind today.
Bottom line: whenever someone gets popular with the world, even the "Christian" world that rejects Truth and the real Jesus, they have compromised something. I may enjoy a few songs here and there, but overall, secular Christian music leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I can only handle a short time of Christian radio like K-Love.

Well for a lot of people in christian music, that's what it actually is.
Mind you I've never heard the group in question. But I sure have heard a lot of groups - in all styles - who fit your description.
I don't listen to a lot of Apostolic/UPC artists. Usually cus their recordings are poor. Drives me crazy lol...and usually cus it's all contemporary...the majority. I don't care much for contemporary/choir music.
I listen to IBC, and The Wilbanks singers in the Apostolic sense. That's about it!

Well I know that's how it is generally. But I think Apostolic's should hold themselves to a higher standard than to just "fit in" with the rest of Christian music.
It's not really about their "style" of music, but the way they act. How they are portrayed.
I have a friend who follows the lead singer of RT on Twitter, and I've read some of his tweets...and their just full of compromise...and that's disheartening to me.
I love the Wilbanks!
And Jenn...I need to send you an EP of James Wilson, he goes to my church. He writes and produces his own music in his home studio, and you cannot tell it wasn't done in a big studio. He did everything himself. Wrote, sang ALL the vocals, played all the instruments, and put it all together on a 5 song EP. It's awesome.
Personally I'm kinda burnt out on his EP, but that's only cause when he released it, we listened to it OVER AND OVER AND OVER...and ran it in the ground. But it really is good. If you don't over listen to it. Lol
I love the Wilbanks too - but I know Monica (Wilbanks) Mathews personally and her husband Jason.
Her husband Jason Mathews is my best friend Andrea's husband Keith's brother. lol So Monica and Jason are here all the time.

That pretty much sums them up.
Dancing, moonwalk, backflip (singular), a watered down message that was designed to skirt the issue of Jesus name...
But, with all that said, I would like to know more of their background. Were they good solid apostolic kids or some who were definitely on the sidelines? To me, it seems like they were kids on the sidelines who are doing something they like, and now are giving apostolics a bad name. But I could be wrong. Either way, its a bad deal. But if they were solid at first, this is horrible.
(Modifying to add pictures and some other stuff)

Exactly.
I know where they attend now in Houston. I'm not sure how the church is...but the lead singer is married to the Pastor's daughter. It's not the most strictest of churches from what I know about it though.
Skinny jeans shouldn't be worn by anyone Christian or not...man, boy, girl, woman, child or animal.
skinny jeans are UGLY. and it seems more fat people wear them than skinny. Or else they are just made to make skinny people look fat... LOL

I'm going to get to drop the out of town stores before long, yay....they're a pain.
And the Target girl is quitting...so I may wind up with Target.....if I want it.... I will have to weigh that out....her other stores will be opened up too, 2 of which I have filled in on before and there is not much to them... The bad part about Target is you have to go in there at least 3 times a week usually.
Anyhoo.....
I have to tend the fowl and such....
And tomorrow I have to go clean up what the boss acts like is a horrendous mess at Target.....bah.

'Scuse me while I howl with laughter at the expense of poor Mel!... :laughhard:
*chokespluttercough*
*wheeze*
Okay, I think I'm better now.
(Thanks, Mel.) ;)
I must be really tired. It wasn't THAT funny. But somehow it was, too.
*Hugs* Mel for being a good sport
:beret:
Glad to help. I think.
I honestly didn't see the typo till Seth quoted it, then it was too late. :smirk2:
And you trust _me_ to proof for you. ;) Riiiiiight. Hehe.
Morning!
:hi:
Oh neat, I never even knew I had a criminal record...
In one of the latest rounds of spam there's an advertisement for a site that is (ostensibly) a great place if you need a background check on someone. In the spam email I got, it said "Your criminal record may have been updated."
Roscoe, does this have something to do with you? I never knew about this criminal record. Are you making stuff up on the police computers again? :P

Niiiiiice.
Mel dearie, yes, I do. 'Cause you're quite good at it. I just figure you did that on purpose cause you knew I needed a laugh last night. ;)

Howdy, everyone. Went to a few yard sales but didn't buy much.

Shew. Went to work. I'm done in.
Gotta make sure the fowl are not dead and get ready for church.
I skimmed too fast and first thought that read, "make sure the foul are ready for church."
Made the RAW cheesecake tonight with a friend. Turned out great. I used a bit too much orange and lemon juice so it tasted slightly like sherbert... lol But it went well with the fresh rasberries and blueberries on top.
Went out for Mexican for the holiday. Free chips and salsa are a blessing! lol
Whew. Y'all are being way too talkative today. :P
Chey and I cruised to a car show in Conway. On the way, Chey took great pleasure in keeping count of how many semitrucks she could get to blow their horns for her. Her total was ten, out of probably 13 passed...She was overjoyed. It's the little things like that that shows me how lucky I am. :clap2:
Then we came home and I cleaned up the house, made round steak, mashed tators and gravy, corn and chocolate cake for dinner. Then I went out and mowed the yard before sitting on the front porch listening to my foutain trickling whil I sipped sweet tea and put together a message for tomorrow night.
'twas truely a blessed day. I hope each of you had a day as good or better than I, if that is possible.
Oh yeah- added blessing I forgot to "testify" about....as most of you know, I live in an area where there is HEAVY oil and natural gas exploration going on. A couple of years back, I had a gas company representative approach me wanting to lease my mineral rights. As I only have an acre, I knew they couldn't set up a rig or anything, so no harm, no foul, free money- around $600 signing bonus, if I recollect. With gas prices being down and not any contact with the company, I'd about forgotten about it, although there is a couple of gas wells in my section..
Today, I got a notice in the mail that two gas wells in my section are producing, and I am due royalties. :clap2: I don't know how much.....Now, I am sure, given the small amount of land I have, it won't be earthshattering wealth, but, hey, even $50 bucks a month is more than I have now. So I'm thanking God for this windfall, and trusting that it is just the beginning of MORE of His blessings. :thumbsup2:
w2cch. I'm tarred as patootey.
I had a LONG day today. Long one. Shew.
But it was good.
That is all.
I don't feel great. My face hurts on one side. I think it's cause I had gluten yesterday. Not only that but I was confused why the fried chickem tasted different & realized I used whole wheat flour. Oh my word, who else makes whole wheat fried chicken. It's not quite as good when it's also skinless. Lol I'm a goof.
I'm awake.
Gonna be another long day today. Staff meeting after church. And I'm already craving my bed this afternoon.
You and your stupid meetings. :pound:
I woke up dead this morning.
/me hooks up the jumper cables to shock Seth back to life
Can't help it.
Meetings run this shindig.
w2cch
Me too.
I'm fittin ta nap.
A piece of fruit for breakfast and M&M's for lunch... Lord I need that call about my job soon..
Today was a good day and I was even nice to Mel, Two Baptized!!
Really glad I got to spend some time with friends this weekend, the beach and park can be a wonderfully relaxing place, and Uno can be a blast.
I was tarred and crashed a spell too.
Oh, and I heard that the same time our church was broke into, there were 3 or 4 other country churches in the area that were broke into also. They took a computer from one.
Looking it up online it says there was some more stuff taken at a couple of them....and it was several churches.
A computer?! :o :o :o :flamingmad: :getangry:
Oh wait... nobody would take the computer I have in my office at church, it's too old to bother with anyway. Never mind.
Need me to get the media involved, Seth?

Nice stormy day today. Church was so good & deep. We are truly free to live for Him. In Him is all power to obey the Bible. Oh thank you Jesus.
Took a long nap. I wish I had a popcycle.
Newsman is slipping. I said something about a criminal record and he never even noticed. :nono:
Went to church. Hung out with Jessica. Now watching Bones.
Hey Mymbir, you also had some Blue doritios for breakfast. Not that I was keeping track or anything. ;)
And yeah, you were nice to me today...Im glad. I didn't want to have to punch you again. :hypocrite:
I had a nap. That is all.
It is storming crazy! Had two tiny tornados barely touch down a few minutes from here. Might be an exciting night...
When we got home from church one of our trees had a huge branch broke partially off. Then sometime this afternoon another from the other side had torn partially off. Not sure if it's related as the leaves are full now and it's hard to see. Not sure if it was lightning, wind or what. We really didn't have crazy wind this afternoon.
I had a different kind of thought this evening so I'm going to think outloud. I'm not sure if I have a point either... lol I was a totally dysfunctional teenager. I was a complete misfit in highschool. I got into a couple of fights, was the subject of a few extreme rumors but mostly was an outsider. I tried to be a bit hard so people would leave me alone even though I really wanted a real friend(s). It had little to do with school, or really even me, looking back. My home life was full of conflict. I think I've told you guys that I was in a foster home for a bit and was passed around to different family members in my teen years because I was "so bad." I went to 11 different schools growing up. I didn't even finish highschool. I got pregnant, got married, worked full time hours, had a baby, during what would have been my senior year, in that order. I got my GED later.
I look back and can only guess that people thought I was a freak. Sometimes I acted really dark, sometimes I acted premiscuous. I couldn't have dressed like and Emo but I probably would've been in that category.
Part of me wants to connect to people on FB from highschool just so they can see how different I am, how God has made THE DIFFERENCE in my life. That I can be pleasant and "normal." But then again, apostolic pentecostal isn't normal so perhaps I would look like a refined freak... lol I don't care really what they think of me but I am wondering where my testimony, life, still needs work to be able to share Jesus? In person, I think people would be happily shocked, online, I don't know. I look back and wonder if my dysfunction then- discredits my beliefs now. My sister was always popular and now that she is living for God, she has enormous influence for Christ and is evangelizing her world. I can't help but wonder if I burnt those bridges?
Just my thoughts. I AM separated from the world. I think I always have been really. I think receiving the HG at age 5 prevented me from ever really being able to "belong" in the world. Even at 15 and totally backslidden I shared truth on the Holy Ghost with a few different people.
I don't know. I'm still weird... (http://gfxlovers.com/smilies/imgs/girly/girly004.gif)
Some thoughts on your thoughts, specifically about normal and weird:
If I went up to a line of coke machines (that would be weird, cause I don't like soft drinks...) and three out of the four were out of order, the one machine that was still working would be abnormal. Sometimes abnormal is a good thing. If three out of the four machines jumped up, transformed into robots and started tap-dancing, that would be weird, but as three out of the four would be doing it, it would also be normal. The one machine that sat there, took my money and gave me a coke would be abnormal, but substantially less weird.
We, as humans who worship God, are not normal. But we are less weird than the majority of the world's population.
Cheese, crackers and lemonade. That's my snack for the evening.
Good Morning, all! :hi:
Back at work. And it looks like it might rain.
That is all. :biglaugh:
^ Yeah, that.
Blue doritos for breakfast. I'm happy to have food, whatever it may be, Jesus is good!!
The rain did not last long here but I really liked it.
I am in expectations about my call.
SO I found out the reason the car has not been brouhgt to me yet, is simply because the titile is in the mail, when they receive it then I get the car.
I also found out that the place I will be staying has been remodling the room and now all they lack is a base board or two, therefore it will be finished this week, as well as the title arriving this week.
Looking at that and knowing that this week those things will work out, it makes sense that the credit union would have put an answer off until this week, they said they would call and I think Jesus made it happen this way.
So glad that He works things out in His time, this weekend I went to the park and invited a lot of people to church, no one showed up but at least a seed of love was planted in them all....
I had the craziest dreams all night. Cars, weddings, lost cell phones, wrecks, old friends, sickness, dialysis, preachers, frantic searching for stuff, sobbing and screaming. Yeah. That's the nutshell version of my dreams. They were all melded together and made no sense at all, and I was upset and frantically crying most of the dreams.
I'm not sure what all that was. I can still see it, but not explain it.
Glad to be awake.
Talked to my brother this morning. And made breakfast for dad. Gonna go gather up and wash some laundry in a few, then head to the church later to clean and stuff. I also have to take dad to Wound care today.
Well, I hope we get some rain... all we have so far is clouds.

Somebody bring something shiny to distract him if he gets outta hand...
Done cleaning the church for today.
While I have made some good recipes as of late, I've also fell off the healthy wagon a bit. Potato chips are my one weakness. ;) So I ate an avocado with potato chips for lunch.
I'm gonna make blondie brownies using a cake mix.

I don't understand a person using the"f" word in a conversation and then 5 minutes later telling the person they're praying for them. That just doesn't go together in my mind. Some days I wish I had a soundproof room and didn't have to listen to the other office sounds.

And I went to court at my part time gig. Drove the Corvette, which REALLY liked the somewhat cool air- it just felt like it wanted to fly. I wanted to let it, but I was afraid I would get caught by one of my Brothers in Blue. :-\
Now. I. am. going. to. relax. I will not do anything productive the rest of the evening, I don't care if it harelips the Pope, as my Mama used to say. :laughhard:
Oh well. I felt funny anyway. Like my sugar dropped. I was all jittery and jumpy. So I ate dinner, and checked my sugar. It was 128, so I guess it was low before. Still feel weird. I'm in my room in the dark. Just chillin.
It's come a storm! Head for the barn Rhonda!
Had a day out with my three men and my parents and siblings today. :) Picnic in the park (by the river, which makes any day a good day) and lots of fun memories and laughs. :)
:beret:
Still feeling funny. Hopefully I live to chat with y'all tomorrow. Been kinda a bad day.
Goodnight.

Hope you didn't step in a poodle.
Overtime at work continues. Hooray for overtime!
I survived the night. Barely. I still feel funny. And TIRED. I'm not sure why, hope I'm not coming down with a sickness.
Not even gonna shower, just going to take Dad to dialysis and drop him off and come back home. I don't even feel like staying in town and waiting today. I wish mom would take some initiative and get up and take him to town. But she won't. I feel like I do everything for him and she doesn't. I guess that's my role Im playing right now. God knows.
And He is good. Either way, I'm blessed and He is good.

Gotta put some gas in the can to bring back to the motorhome when I pick dad up. Then HOPEFULLY, we will get it into town again today. Been trying for weeks.
Then I'll go to the church and do the stuff I didn't do yesterday cause I wasn't feeling like it. I still don't feel good today, but it has to be done. Before I get in trouble. Lol
Y'all say a prayer for me, please?
absolutely Mel. ♥
Praying for you right now, Mel. *Hug* I'm sorry things have been so difficult for you lately. Praying God gives you strength (and peace!) while you're taking care of your dad - regardless of who should or should not be doing it. I'm proud of you for doing what needs to be done and not wallowing in the unfairness of things. You'll probably pound me for saying this, but... you've grown alot in the years we've known each other. :) I liked the then-Mel a lot. But I like the now-Mel even better. :)
Weird morning. I keep feeling dizzy. Wondering if it's from all the sun I got yesterday. Or maybe I'm dehydrated again. *shrug* But whatever the case, you're supposed to figure it out and fix it for me. Yeah.

Caffeine is your friend. Not a big dose all at once, small doses through the day.
When I'm running on 4 hours of sleep and I have to get through a work shift, I go to the local Jack's (a fast food factory chain) and order a mocha shake. They carry Blue Bell ice cream. They don't have a mocha shake on the menu, and if it's a new guy at the counter he'll look at me kind of fishy and say they don't have it, but the regulars know what it is - half black coffee and half Blue Bell chocolate ice cream. Coffee melts the ice cream, ice cream cools the coffee and you're left with kind of a cappuccino, only a lot creamier. :thumbsup2:

I'm fixing to make some glandular meat and bulbed vegetables for dinner.
Anyone want to come join us?
Some people should come with ear plugs or be put in a sound proof room. ;)
I caught the quick end of something off the radio and I don't know if it's real or not but I've been laughing ever since.
".... woke up to find his wife had crazy glued his __cheeks together."
I can't even breathe I'm laughing so hard. I told Nathan not to make me mad... (http://urduart.com/gallery/data/682/girly025_2.gif)
That would be a terrible fix indeed. :o
Went to work. Came home.
The public was in rare form today.
At Dollar General this morning the clerk asked a man how he was, and that was the wrong question to ask....he proceeded to go on a tirade about how he'd be better if the hospital would get their act together on finding out what was wrong with his old lady, in so many words. He went on and on about it all. Before he left the store he made sure to share with us all how much he draws on disability and various other facts about his life.
At Dollar Tree foreign people kept asking me questions. That store is a melting pot...there are always people of diverse tongues in there. lol
But that was just run of the mill...the even better part there was that the manager there just found out that she's getting a house she's been trying to buy...and she was excited and telling whoever about it....it has however many bedrooms, and it's got a garage and a barn and whatever all....and apparently it has fruit trees on the property.... But she kept listing a bunch of citrus fruits when she'd named them off....and she never said anything about it having a greenhouse that I heard....
I don't think her lemon tree is going to do very good here. :eyebrow:
OH, AND, I was aggravated with the public by the time I left, cause I was in Dollar Tree for 6 hours, and by the time I left, the stuff I worked on first, you couldn't even tell I'd ever been there.
People shop like a bunch of wild hogs. Makes me just want to scream at people "PUT THAT BACK LIKE YOU FOUND IT YOU BIG DUMMY!!!!!!"
:P
Come over here and fix yourself a nice big plate of this glandular meat. You will feel better about life.
:fork:
Nay, I say unto thee.
He doesn't know what he is missing.
When we are married, I will fix him liver and onions twice a week! It's good for him!
I DO know what I'm missing. I just don't like liver. Bleh.
Well this is a contradiction. Over on the furnace line we're working overtime, but today the boss said for the next two months it doesn't look like we'll be having much business, not a lot of orders lined up, so we're going to be cleaning the factory like crazy. So... why are we still working overtime?

I know those kinds of days, Roscoe. This last month at work has been like that. The kick? I waited until some dood called 911 and told me he was calling to see if we sent LEO to his cousin's baby mama "cause he had heard that she had done called the polices on his cousin and they was having an agaments" before I spazzed. My eyeball twitched dangerously.
P.S.
I have a new bebe. Well, technically, she's my brother's, but since I'm Aunt Sissy and she has already taken a shine to me, I'm claiming her. She's brand new...made her debut around 1300 hours, so she isn't yet a day old. I've already crocheted her a blanket, a hat, some hair bows, and a little shirt. Can you tell that I'm excited to have a little girl to add to my horde of boys?

Yes. It is THAT kinda day.
SMH. People just keep getting stupider......Job security, I guess.
And where have you been hiding?!? I thought I was left here without backup, you've been gone so long. I gave up and deputized Mini....
Lord. I'm glad it is nearly my weekend. Did a little work on Rusty last night, thought I was gonna get to start him up, but no. Got to the last peice needed to be installed, looked around the shop and apparently I have magical RTV (Gasket Sealant). It vanished. I know I had bought some..... needless to say, I called it a day and will buy more of the stuff today. :smirk2:
Everybody needs to have a great day. Or else I shall show up, cuff you and make you appreciate your freedom. Don't let it come to that. I have Tasers and I ENJOY using them. :laughhard:

If you do deploy the white lightening, I think I should get to do it, too. Remind me to tell you about the time my stepdad grabbed my taser. It, uh, really shocked him.
I need a taser to deal with the public.

Oops. In my world, it refers to the flow of electricity from a taser.
Well, Dad and I just had an all out screaming match just now. Ugh.
He refuses to wear the vacuum thing that Wound care has ordered for his wound. He said that tomorrow when they put it back on, he is going to come home and take it off again, and then when he has to go back, he will just HAVE ME put it back and act like it was on the whole time. I told him I wouldnt do it. If he takes it off he is gonna tell them, and I won't be party to lying to them and pretending he is wearing it. So he got mad and yelled at me. I told him that if he doesn't want to wear it, he better tell them, or I will. So now he is mad at me, but I don't care. He isn't gonna lie to them and lose his foot. And if he does, it will be with no help from me. I'm not gonna do it!
Now we gotta go back into town and get a haircut, cause he forgot while we were in there earlier.
Another three trips to town day for us.
 her Melb!
Well. All is better. I took dad to town and we actually had a conversation and not a screaming match about the vacuum situation. He still doesn't want to do it. But I think I have him convinced to come clean with the wound care people and not lie to them. I expressed my concerns and he listened. But I still won't know what he decides to do till tomorrow. I pray he does the right thing. Either leave it on like he is supposed to, or at least tell them he isn't gonna wear it and not lie about it.
And the trip to town was a waste anyway. His barber was closed. And so we went to another one, and it was 2 o clock and they had a "out to lunch" sign up. We waited there for about 30 mins and they never came back so we left, and dad still needs a haircut. :smirk2:
Try again tomorrow.
:couch: Anybody home?
I've been in and out all day.
Fixing to fold these two baskets of clothes I have, then get dressed and go to church.
Boo.
Leaving for church now. Alone. Dad was gonna go, but got to tired. And I won't comment on my mom. I don't want to have to repent. :smirk2:
Eating dinner.. So very very very tired of watching guy movies...everytime...or having to watch tv alone in the other room. I express my opinion and we keep ending up with the stupidest movies. Ugh..
Nelle, do you know both your love languages? Speak his and help him speak yours. Then, it won't matter.
I've watched most of them with him.. I like some of them, just not everytime we watch a movie. We don't get much "entertainment" time with our tv because of work and church and just life haha.. I can't handle depressing or violence that often haha.. Tonight's is about vampires...ickkk!!
I have that book but I haven't read it yet.
Home! Had a great time at church and then hanging at Raising Canes with friends! I love my people!

If you're interested: Let the Lord sort out your thoughts. There's a difference between "action" movies wearing you out and "depressing/ violence" wearing you out. Pray holiness over your home and husband. ♥
If not, I will be praying for you. The best part of marriage is that it's hard and we don't get what we want so that we can be better people and get what God wants for us instead.

I'm overwhelmed with thankfulness this morning. God's been showing me that what I didn't receive growing up from my mother, my church has supplimented abundantly. My church is my mother. Probably sounds weird to people with normal moms.. lol
God is so good. That is all.

lol Is that more stuff from your garden? ;)
It's that hoaaakky weeeed!
Normal mother? What is that? I guess I wouldn't know either. Lol
Whew doggie! Been a long day indeed. I'm at wound care now. And THANK THE LORD! He (Dad) isn't lying to these folks! He told them he doesn't want to wear the vac and they are gonna see what the dr says. But hopefully they will let hem keep it off. :) I'm happy right now.
Today has been a long day and it only started a little over three hours ago. On the bright side, my brand new niece is making her way home! She's a bit bigger than I was when I was brand new, but Miss Thang has my cheeks and levels such a direct, gangster stare that everyone is saying she's mine...lol.
I have an awesome mom, MY, but that still totally makes sense to me. :)
Ravioli for dinner tonight. No, not homemade. I'm being lazy like that. ;)
:beret:
cool.
Raviolis sound awesome. I had a total dinner fail tonight. My sweet family just eats it anyway. lol
There are not enough hours in the day. *screams and falls over*
Went to church, came home....
At the end of the closing prayer I adlibbed something on the organ and accidentally reminded myself of the song "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown." So now that's stuck in my head. lol Lord.
:sing:
.....badder than old King Kong, and meaner than a junkyard dog.....
:o dude. :o
NO JOKE, about two hours ago, I was in the kitchen, and for some reason I just belted out into song. And it was that very thing. Bad bad Leroy brown. :o

In other news, our dogs name is Sara. If the neighbors heard us, they would think we have a demented child living under our roof: "Sara, back up off my feet." "Sara, don't lick the lotion." "Is Sara in her cage?" and so on and so forth...lol Never name your dog a persons name.

Mini, did you name it after Sarba?
Speaking of Mini, I need to get out and get groceries. But alas, I need to shave my legs. And I don't wanna. Wonder how many people would notice? I wish I had more long summer skirts. They're in style right now!
What's not in style is modest swimwear for girls. Camp is coming up and Hannah needs new stuff. The best thing I've foundis $75 and I just can't do that. Wish I could actually sew worth something. All the board shorts are super short this year. Even though the swimming isn't co-ed of course, I still emphasize that it's not just being modest around boys, it's about being modest period. She might only be a little 10yr old now but if I don't emphasize it she'll be 15 and possibly having a hard time understanding why people make it ok for kids to be immodest but then as soon as puberty hits, more clothes are needed. And honestly, I think that just eggs on the perverts. I find it ridiculous when little girls who can be just as rambunctious as little boys, tumble all around exposing far more than the little boys. In this day and age, homosexuality may be in the spotlight but pedophilia is tagging close behind.
I may just have her wear a cotton jumper over her swim suit maybe. Blech. Sin ruins so much that should be good and clean.

I think she understands it more than you might think. Especially from the way you've talked about her being sensitive to being Holy lately. I don't think she would get confused when she turns 15 if she wears a bathing suit at camp, and has to cover up in mixed company. In all reality she might get confused regardless, just because at 15....well you question everything because you're 15!

"When my husband left on his deployment, our 6-year-old son could not walk on his own. He has cerebral palsy. Doctors originally said that he would never walk or do much of anything. While daddy was away, he learned to walk. For his homecoming, we set it up for Michael to walk to his daddy for the first time ever! We kept the fact that he could walk a secret the whole time his dad was gone!"
Well...I am happy. Rusty seems to be fixed, and life is GRAND.
Oh and Seth and Mini- :pound: :pound:
Both of ya.
In other news, my nephew just broke my heart. He's four, mixed race ( his sister, age 9 or so, is not and lets him know, which ticks me off- I'd beat her butt if I could ) and really doesn't have a good home life. I don't think the little man has ever saw his real Dad....I've heard from Grandma, ect. that he's said he wants to live with Chey and that he's slipped up and called Lou "Mama" a couple of times.
Today, I'm sweeping up the shop, which had became a disaster while Rusty was being repaired. I sense someone behind me, and turn and it's Miles. He wants to sweep, so I let him. After a few minutes of him sweeping and me putting away tools, he looked at me and said "I want you to be my Daddy." How do you respond to that?!?
I told him, "Son, I can't be your real Daddy, but you can pretend I am all you want and I'll treat you like you are, okay?"
Hard to keep from crying, at least it was for me.
Oh my goodness, Bob. I'm afraid I would have lost it. Poor little tyke. I wish you COULD be his daddy. And if you decide to go ahead and "beat his sister's butt", let me know. I'll be in line right behind you.

Newest crochet attempt: a lacework overskirt pattern. I'm trying it in not-so-great yarn first, 'cause I wanted to make sure I like the pattern. If I DO like it (and so far I do) I plan to make one in a bright color - maybe teal. Or red. Or something. To wear over my black skirt.

Hey Melb - there are several apps you can download, that will tell you what the song is that you hear on the radio/or in a store or something! It's pretty nifty! The one I have is called SoundHound.
@Ruby - sorry darlin' I alas am not a CR fan. Now if you started quoting Kirk Franklin lyrics....that'd be a totally different story!

My niece is going to church with me tomorrow. I made her first Apostolic/Pentecostal hairbow, so I'm all excited! I think I'm going to move on to trying to sew clothes. I can make basic stuff, but nothing too elaborate. I just think it'd be nice to sew her some cute little dresses and whatnot. :-)
Lands sakes....I am so swamped with things that need done and I don't have time to get them done.
I'm awake.
Ready to get this day over with. For several reasons.
I bought an American Greetings card the other day just to make sure I keep Seth employed. I missed our Community Church One even yesterday due to prior obligations to a wedding, but there were 12 baptized in Jesus name and 4 filled with the Holy Ghost.
I lost half of a tooth yesterday at the wedding. Plus I'm having some issues related to my cancer 'scare' last year that are showing back up. Everyone just remember me in prayer is you don't mind.
/me hugs Heather and mel
Hang in there, VeterinaryGirl.
w2cch..... Had issues. Bleh.
Eating a BBP.
I need to sleep for 3 days but I don't have time.
/me weeps.
Jesus wept too.
Today went WAY better than I expected. We are at Ruby Tuesdays now, fixing to head home for a nap.
Thanks PF! *HUGS* to you.
Odd people are mentioning naps so much. After a hectic weekend, I came home from morning church and instead of making lunch, took a long nap. Now I'm up, eating homemade chili with sourdough bread on the side.
We had 26 first time guest today!!! For a church that usually only runs 60-80, that's alot of people! PTL!!
We had 107 today, and I know for SURE of 10 people who were absent. Lol so it would have been 117!!
Nevermind about the nap...gotta go out and clean the yard...a guy from church is coming to mow, so I gotta go gather limbs and things. I may build a fire! Whoot!
Yay for visitors, birthdays & baptisms!
I have felt out of sorts since Friday. I'm good now. Lol
Wtcch. :)
The kids wanted to make lunch so they made a wonderful potato soup. Took a nap & have ben playng ards, connect 4 while watching mythbusters blow things up. Church was sooo good, I love my pastor & pastor's wife. God knows exactly what we need.
I cleaned the yard, built a fire, and dad said I could burn a casket he made a few years ago, so I did, and I took pictures and text them to people to freak them out! It worked! Haha!
Bro Joey is mowing our yard right now! Yay! It needed it pretty badly!
I came in, took a shower and rested a bit, now I gotta go find something to eat. My salad and Cajun fish and speghetti squash at lunch done wore off! :)
I feel pretty. lol
He'll let you burn caskets, but won't let you mow.
Send the mower man up here, I don't have time to mow ours. :reaction:
My favorite song of his is the untitled hymn.
I didn't know the mower man had an album.

Ruby, I'm in the process of teaching myself to crochet. Never thought about skirts and jazz. That's nifty, though. Would you mind sharing a picture of the finished product?
Cool! Have you joined ravelry.com yet? If not, I highly recommend it! Thousands of free patterns, and you can save all your favorites and/or ones you want to try someday in a folder, as well as connect with other crocheters. :) Here's the pattern I'm testing out: http://www.naturallycaron.com/projects/jolimar/jolimar_1.html

Can you make me a beige cape, mid-calf? Do they make gabardine in beige? Sometimes black just doesn't go.
Morning. I'm at work.
heading out to clean the church in a min.
Oh my goodness, I read EricShane's canning FB post and about spit out my drink. He cracks me up, I hope I get to meet him someday because I'm convinced he's a hillbilly.
A snake handling hillbilly!
Well. Dad told me to be ready to go to town at 10. So I'm dressed, ready to walk out the door, and I look in his bedroom, and he is back in bed.
That was at 10:05.
Guess he's not ready to go yet.
So I have a Drs appointment Thursday afternoon for my issues that happened this weekend and a dentist appointment next Monday to pull the rest of this tooth out and have my 1st cleaning in 4 years. Bring on the pain!! Lol
At work. Bored.
Oh so tired. My 4am bedtime from Saturday night is catching up to me.
Where is everyone today?!
<<---------- They all went that way ---------->>
I'm around. We finally left and went to do a few things. Now I'm sitting at the car lot that the motorhome is sitting on, while dad talks to some potential buyers! Yay! Wound care and Drs office is next on the list.
I need a vacation.
Coming right up. Just three more days, counting today. Hang in there!
Got less than two weeks till our big youth event and one of the speakers had to back out. Now looking for a replacement.
Went to a great youth rally Friday night.
Bought a new pair of shoes and they were defective so I had to return them. The replacement pair were also defective and made different and rubbed a blister on top of my foot. So they are going back too. I hate trying to find new shoes!!
That's about all!
I could recommend some really comfortable shoes, but you wouldn't like them... they have toes.
Try Merrel shoes. Or Rockport - there's a place local where I can get Rockport shoes for $12-$25. :D Before I switched to zero-drop shoes, Rockport was my go-to brand for shoes that will last.
:hi: Been busy, ain't been on as much as usual. Do ya'll miss me yet? :freaky2: :freaky2:
Went to work today, did a report- first one I've done this year, I do believe. Someone thoughfully discarded a pistol on my capitol lawn and the grounds crew found it. It was, of course, stolen, and the owner was very pleased to get it back, even if it was in somewhat rougher condition than when he last saw it a year ago....
Went to Walmart, got a few things, and Chey struck up a conversation with a total stranger by inviting the lady to come to her graduation..Not only did the sweet lady stop and talk to us, she gave Chey $2 as a "graduation gift" for graduating kindergarten.....My kid.....SMH. If she would just invite them to church....she's definately got a boldness I don't have. :-\
Worries me though- she'll talk to anyone, no matter how many times I've told her not too....

Sure can. And I'll check on the gabardine. Are you for sure wanting one, or just pondering the possibilities right now? :)
Roscoe - does she talk to anyone all the time? or just when she's with you? 'Cause if it's just when she's with you, she probably feels totally safe knowing that she's right beside her amazing and cool cop dad. That's a tough one though. Confidence, and being able to hold conversations with adults is good. Unsafe situations aren't. And how to teach the difference??... Uhh... well, you get it all figured out, please let me know. I'm taking notes for when I have my own little ones. :)
:beret:
How sweet. Hannah has been like that Roscoe. As she gets older and we have more serious talks, it gets better. It's hard to convey danger without making them scared when they are so young and naive. At some point though I believe we have to clue them in to the things they aren't "getting." Then reinforcing God's protection when we are submitted to Him/authority. Hannah being 10 and still very sanguine, knows that if we say do not speak to strangers unless we are present, her safety is in the obedience. If I remember right, a local story had come about involving a child that went to pet a vicious dog that "looked" sweet. The dog bit the child badly. If that child had asked their mom/dad first they wouldn't have gotten hurt. Thus led later as time went on, how some people do seem very nice but unless they have Jesus in their heart, their niceness can run out. Mom and Dad can tell if they have enough. lol I believe she was about 4ish. Perhaps not the best of explanations but sometimes we just have to wing it! lol
Wow. It's been awhile and navigating those conversations was interesting. We'e learned it's not so much about being afraid of what's bad as much as it is having reverence (fear) for God/authority figures. Reverence trumps fear. Children want their parents to be pleased with them and that is more affective most often I believe. I wish we knew that from the get go but we know it now and that matters. It meant more to Hannah to see her Dad concerned and stern than it did telling her things are not alway safe, which really was beyond her comprehension since she had always been safe.
SippinTea, my finances say I'm just thinking about it right now. I have a few things going during this trip to OOOOOOOOOOOOklahoma (I always plan big and overdo stuff.) Just let me know on the gabardine shades and I'll be plotting.
Definitely want it mid-calf length when I get it though. The black one was perfectly ankle length (good cut by the way) but I've been considering getting Grandma to take it up to mid-calf as well.
Well. I hadn't updated on my dads situation in awhile, a few of you that I text know, but I'll give the update to the rest.
Friday the Dr said that they will still have to take half of his foot off. The wound was not healing properly and so the next step was to go further up on the foot and amputate more. So today, we went to wound care, and ther Dr there had a fit! He said no, they need to go ahead and amputate the whole foot, about 6 inches below the knee like they originally wanted to do. He said that the way dads leg is with no circulation, that if they just take some more of the foot, it won't heal either and it will be a bigger mess later and they will ultimately have to take the leg below the knee later anyway, so better to do it now and get it started to heal and get fitted for a prosthesis. Sooner rather than later.
He goes in for tests and junk on Wednesday, and looking at more surgery and hospital stays soon. So this time next week I'll be posting from the hospital again most likely.
And that's the scoop.
Oh, and the people who were looking at the motorhome today said they wanted it, and are supposedly coming back tomorrow with CA$H! Yay! That's at least one worry relieved. So we can focus on the rest of them now. Lol
God is good. And on time. And He loves us. No matter what trials we have to face.
I'm so very sorry, Mel. :sadbounce:
I'm unsettled and I'm stubborn. Perhaps things will be clearer in the morning.
Monday is Andrew's last day of school. Hannah still has a bit of work to do till she's completed. Then starts the preparation for them both to be in public school this fall. Hopefullly I will either put more hours in at the church or get a pt time job at that time. *sigh* Then again, sometimes when I make plans, God reveals something else.
Goodnight all. Gotta go to sleep.
Sometimes it's hard to know what to do...
Had a long day, did not get much accomplished that I wanted to, but got plenty of other things taken care of. Have a situation I will need prayer for tomorrow, but God knows and I will remain chill about the whole thing, plus I will be busy anyway...

Okay, then I'll snoop around regarding fabric whenever I'm at the fabric store next, and not worry about making a special trip in to town. If you're wanting it mid-calf length, I'm thinking that will take down costs some. (Remember that whole having to double the fabric length thing because of how I had to cut the fabric?? Yeah, that.) I'll try to remember to measure the existing pattern length, and see if you like the length it would be if I cut it as is.

Though I am NOT giving up my chocolate... I do have to say that from a health standpoint, refined sugar is the single most stupid thing mankind ever did. Congrats on doing that, because I know it takes a truckload of willpower.
That is awesome, Taco. God did something similiar with me & my healing came through eating right. If you are looking for recipes, Paleo recipes are often incredibly good.

It may seem odd to my peers, but I like old-time gospel, bluegrass gospel, etc. I also like to sit and listen to elders talk, as long as they are christian - christians (real ones) gossip a lot less, and elders have a lot that's worth listening to.
So far I haven't convinced anyone except Grandma to go with me.
Well that's what I can do with my vacation days. Now the only problem is what to do with all this sourdough bread. Anyone want a loaf?
I think I'm gonna try to sleep now. Wish me luck.
Busy day working, looking forward to an interview tomorrow at a dental office, that will give me two jobs to choose between.

So funny story....was trying to kill a miller (moth...Mom & Dad call them millers....no clue why...but apparently I caught on) and it flies into my lamp.....well I'm trying to squarsh (yes I say squarsh) it with a flip flop....and the lamp shade like shatttterrrrrs....a piece of the moth was on the light bulb itself, so it's like FRYING....smelling like burnt ew......and the stupid miller is just fluttering away......
The lamp was one of those tall ones...with the plastic lamp shades that face up instead of down....you put a 3-watt light in it.....

The weather here in my neck of the woods cannot seem to make up its mind. It goes from skin-melting hot to frozen toes cold within just a few hours. On the bright side, we're getting some greatly needed rain! Our water table has declined steadily over the last decade or so. Every drop of rain is a blessing and storms are just nature's musicals. I love 'em!
Mel, I'll be praying for your Dad and that you are infused with strength (many people don't realize what it takes to be a caretaker, but I know that sometimes, it's all you can do just to breathe). Mom volenteered to take dad to his procedure today. I'll know some results of that hopefully when they call. Since she wanted to go...I welcomed the opportunity to stay home alone. This is rare. Well...I'm alone unless you count this dumb dog. Who is staring at me while I eat. :smirk2: He loves toast, but I won't feed him off my plate. Mom does, but I won't. Not toast anyway. G'morning everyone! :hi:
D'ya know what?!? His mercies were new again this morning! Just in case y'all forgot 'or somethin', I thought I'd remind ya. :)
:beret:
At the leather shop my dad half-owned, the other half owner had a dog that would watch you if you were eating anything, because there was a house rule that he got the last bite.
My grandparents on my mother's side stopped feeding their boxer at the table because one time they had guests over and didn't feed him bites at the table, and he growled at them.
The vet told mom NOT to feed him table food. He won't eat his dog food and for a long while he was bald cause he wasn't getting the proper nutrition cause he never ate his own food. But she feeds him anyway.
I HATE HATE HATE when I cook a good meal, and she fixes him a plate of the meat or whatever else he likes. DRIVES ME BATTY! Don't feed that dog food that I worked to prepare for US! It's a waste! He scarfs it down and begs for more. He won't be getting my share. But she continually feeds him.
I despise that dumb dog.
HEY! It's not the dog's fault! :noo:
I still don't like him. Not just for that reason. And I like dogs, normally. I just don't care for small dogs at ALL. If you are gonna have a dog, get a DOG! I want a lab, or a German shepard. Not one of these little ankle biter yippy yip rat-dogs.
I want a DOG!
...or a kitten. ;)
That's sad Mel, cause that dog will die a miserable death.
Before we ever knew better, we would give scraps to our childhood dog, Molly. She lived a decent life but at the end, she had lumps all over, would vomit and half accidents, and get totally startled when she would finally notice someone came in. They had to put her to sleep. An 80lb beautiful golden retriever-collie mix. I wish we had known more than to just not give her chocolate.
Now, our dog Ollie, a black lab-beagle mix, gets scraps outside every once in a long while but it's whole foods so I don't feel like it's bad. Though I could be wrong. Last night she had a few roasted potato and carrots.
We give our dog (and cat) chocolate. Never has hurt them. Years and years, many of our dogs have eaten chocolate. I never have figured out why people say you shouldn't feed a dog chocolate.
Feeding a dog people food regularly though, that can lead to serious health problems.
He loves toast, poptarts, any and all meat except fish, and he likes carrots, potatoes, LOVES cheese, and he likes sweets.
He will sit and stare at you when you are eating. I usually yell at him and tell him to stop staring and go away, and then mom yells at me. Lol its our routine. He hangs his head and drops his tail and slumps away, but in a few mins he is back to staring at me and watching me eat again. And I can clean the kitchen or do anything in there and he won't be around, but the moment I start cooking or preparing to cook, he sits by the table and watches me. Even it if takes hours, he is there.
When our old dog Buster was on his last days - the vet actually recommend certain people food. Said it was better for him, and had more nutrients than the dog food could give him.
There are actually quite a few people foods that are actually very good for dogs.
But like with humans, there are certain foods that you shouldn't give a dog.
Well, got an unexpected call a few minutes ago and I start my Chick-Fil-A training tomorrow instead of next week. So I will be rejoining the ranks of the employed tomorrow at 9 am. Thank God!! Would appreciate your prayers to be able grasp everything. It's been awhile.
Fast food factories are invariably set up so the lowest common denominator can do a passable job. Don't worry, you'll be assistant manager in three months, tops. ;)
WOOT!! Congrats on the job, Taco my friend!! If I lived closer I would totally throw a celebration party for both you and Elona. :) As it is, I shall have to eat the rest of the ice cream in the freezer in your honor. ;)
Do you ever have a day where you're pondering so many things that can't BE understood, that you think your brain might explode? No? Oh. Then me neither.

Just hang on to it, Isaac. At some point there will be a random meet that you will be able to use it......
No thank you, I think I have quite had my fill of meet plans for a while.
Maybe I'll use it for the grand prize at the Children's Church party this Sunday. A bit expensive for a kids party prize, but the kids will love it.
Raspberry White Tea was a nice change from the plain green tea.
That sounds yummy! I've only had white tea a couple times, but what I've had was pretty good. And green tea... well... blech. :yell: I tried to like it, but couldn't quite succeed. :)
:beret:
Green tea - real green tea, not that much-processed junk at Wal-Mart - is good with just a touch of honey.
I don't know how to tell the difference between common green tea & quality green tea. I think I bought organic from walmart.
It's been a pretty good day of doing little to nothing.
I'm headed for a shower now, and on to church for sign team practice and prayer.
Good to hear Mel.
PTL Taco! We have a Chick-Fil-A going up near us and Nathan has contemplated going super early on opening day to see if he can be in the first 100 that recieve a year's worth of Chicken.
Dandelion roots aren't very big. I got what looks like a cup's worth so whatever I get out of that will be my tester.
The neighbor came over to see what I was up to digging up dandelions.. lol We talked about whole foods, hollistic stuff, Hannah's homeschooling, and then she asked where we went to church. *Insert silent excitement here* I have prayed for God to open up doors with my neighbors. I still intend to door knock but don't really want to be disreguarded as the Christian salesman type, I'd rather it happen some more natural way. She is a "free spirit" and I invited her after sharing a bit about why we chose to go there. She said she believes in tongues and angels... that could mean a number of things...lol She's a retired army nurse who is writing a book. I'm so excited for that conversation. We agreed we should do coffee, possibly dandelion coffee (: soon and exchange recipes. Next month there is a get together scheduled at my house, I think I'll invite her over.
Also, last night, my pastor started a series of Bible lessons on personal spiritual disciplines. Just that first bit, it moved me so. My pastor shared how that there are actually some that pray and fast for the purpose of their sermon or lesson being anointed or for there to be a move of God instead of for the purpose to draw near and be with God and those other things simply be the effects. Lord help those that need a fresh love for Him! Discipline without Direction becomes Drudgery.

I see I missed out on Meller's weed today..... :laughhard: And Meller, I suspect I have a few years' supply of dandelion roots for you. They take over my yard...
I've never heard of dandelion coffee, just dandelion wine. :smirk2:
:freaky2:
Bad, Bad Leroy Brown played in the Spencer Dollar General this afternoon.....so, guess what I've been singing again now.
:P
That's what my neighbor said her dad used to make! lol
Ruby, have you ever made lavender sugar? Oh my goodness. ♥
Hannah wanted to make some cut out cookies, and chose shortbread. I bought some dried food grade lavender last month and have been wanting to make some things with it but hadn't yet.
I came across this on pinterest: http://www.anediblemosaic.com/?p=3530 (http://www.anediblemosaic.com/?p=3530)
Lavender Shortbread Cookies
(http://www.anediblemosaic.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/IMG_2985-Small.jpg)
Now, we didn't make those cookies, but the "how to" on lavender sugar and how well it goes with Earl Grey tea is what snagged me. So I made some lavender sugar this evening and some E.G. tea. It is good! So inexpensive, so luxurious tasting. I only used a bit and some of my normal sugar (ecj) and I take cream in my tea.
I wanted to share with ya! I don't know how much calmness it can bring being in that tea but fun anyhow. (http://gfxlovers.com/smilies/imgs/girly/girly004.gif)
Bleh.
And another one bites the dust.... :dead:
Well. I have now corrupted Kimber. She can now chat on the phone for two and three hours at a time without hyperventilating!
I am satisfied.
And my tummy doesn't feel right...could be those 12 jalapeƱos I ate this afternoon...Naaa. :fork:
Well haven't slept well tonight even for me. Probably nervousness about training. Blood sugar was in normal range this morning Praise God!
Keep me in prayer today please. Thanks!
Morning peoples!
It's too early to be up with this little of sleep. But it can't be helped now.
:hi:
Ugh....
:hi: Morning.
Oh, we had a 4.3 earthquake near here last night.
Wow, I'm not alone in my lack of sleep. I'm running on about 4 hours shut-eye myself. Just couldn't get back to sleep.
I had about 3. Maybe less.
It felt good to actually go to work again. I actually worked 2 hours and then got about 5 minutes of training. I do know one thing God has brought me a very long way. I climbed a ladder to the roof twice today and not to long ago I would have never been able to do that. God is a good God!! I is tired from that climb though. lol
Huh... at McDonald's they would have had you on the computer for hours on your first day, watching training videos. But then, they have "procedure" down to a science. Take the reg meat out 8 at a time, 4 in each hand, drop it on the grill in this certain pattern (I'm not even being sarcastic, you have to put the meat down two at a time in a specific pattern.)
Glad for you that you're getting to work. Man needs a job, and not just for the money. Ya need something to DO.
MY - No, I haven't. Never heard of such a thing. :)
Mel - You haven't converted ME yet, so :P
Jason - YAY! That's definitely worth celebrating. :)
:beret:
Ruby, my dear sweet Ruby...you HAVE come a long way since we met, you do allow me to call you more frequently without a lot of fuss, and we do get to talk for quite awhile...sometimes over an hour! Lol AND...you have been known lately to actually send the first text!
*sniff* I am so proud of you! ;)
Melb did not mention that the reason she only got a few hours of sleep is because she was keeping me up all night on the phone again lol.
It has become normal for us to talk at least two hours a day, I'm not sure how long it will last, but for now I have even been able to carry the conversation a good bit myself.
Also I text her back at a decent time, unless I fall asleep, which has happened a good bit lately.
I just seem so tired and can not catch up on the rest my body lacks.
It's mostly the stress and the fact that I can not sleep with out dreaming about the same things that are bothering me now.
Oh well that's life....
GUESS WHAT?!?! We start revival tonight and I am very excited about that, no telling what God will do, we have had visitors and people getting baptized back to back!! Great things!!

Lordy this is so me. I cannot seem to catch up on sleep this week. You'd think I'd be wide awake seeing as the semester is over....but I sleep at work, I sleep at home, I sleep at bedtime...and yet I'm still SOO tired.
I would like to know how you are sleeping at work and getting away with it, you must have skill, because when I am sleeping it is very obvious.
haha an office with a shut door and nobody here but me is how! way I see it is I get 2 15-min paid breaks, and a 30 min un-paid one....so I ain't breaking any rules! haha
Making hamburgers for dinner.
My clothesline has developed an issue.
I had a blanket out on it. Apparently 48852259900953 birds painted it. :/
I had a dream last night too about birds trying get into my compost tub full of worms. I was trying to squirt them with vinegar. Lol
First night of revival was awesome!
Then Kimber and I had a tour of restaurants with our group. We are just cool like that.
Broadcasting live from the Lake Benson campground.
The preacher tonight was incredible. He used the verse about "Yet will I praise the Lord." He preached about so many elders falling away from God because they have lost focus on God and have been focused too much on what they were doing for God. They can no longer run the aisles, play the piano, etc and they get depressed. But your ministry, your praise, all that you do changes as you get older - you can't do what you used to be able to do, but there are different things you can do. And your joy, your salvation doesn't depend on what you can do, it depends on keeping your focus and attention on God. He called the message "Have you found your 'yet' yet?"
Tired. I just don't like long drives but it's been good to see my sister in law. :)
Goodnight all.
What's left of me is checking in.

No, sadly I don't see any of the squirrels. :smirk2:

Well, I slept a wee bit better. Not near what I need, but better.
Fixing to go get groceries with Dad.
:hi:
Isaac, was it Doug Klinedinst? He just preached that at our church. He is most certainly an annointed awesome preacher. He did a funny with it, a YetI soldier... Lol
Looks likes it's going to be a beautiful day here. God is so good. He turns sorrow into joy.
Barely at work twenty minutes and I'm already sneezing!! I'm allergic to this place I tell ya! :demand:
No, Douglas Klinedinst did the ministers conference here a few years ago. And was great, I still listen to his teach... er, preach... well, "treaching" from that conference sometimes.
This is somebody much older, who's name I heard repeatedly and now forget. Hmm, maybe I fit in with elders more than I thought, with my memory for names. :smirk2:
Went to work and egg drops and grocery shopping..... TGIF. But oy......
Long day.
Got word from dads doctor. He said that they will do the surgery on Monday. Taking the whole foot/leg from below the knee.
And he won't have to go to wound care anymore most likely. Since he won't have an open wound. So since we love the wound care ppl so much, and they have been so good to us, I had the bright idea to make them a batch of cookies! BUT! I'm gonna find a cookie cutter shaped like a footprint, and cut the two first toes off before I bake them!!! They will LOVE THEM! I can't wait to do that and take them up there! Hahaha!
I'm crazy.
Oh, we have revival tonight. Headed to church in a few. :hi:

Good idea. Let us know how it goes over, and of course where we can find a footprint cookie cutter.
EDIT: Okay out of curiosity I looked up footprint cookie cutter on amazon.com and found a lot of results. Disturbing...
I am in a great mood! Justsoyouknow.
I'm so glad to hear that Mel!
And... me too. What an awesome day. God makes fabulous people that are a blessing to know.
My brownies today: FAIL. Not enough dates.
My cheesecake today: FAIL. I didn't follow the directions to the T last time and it was great. I followed the directions this time and it wasn't working. I tried to fix it a bit and it made it worse. I think I'll go back to the way I did it the first time.
Was going to make Vietnamese pork chops again cause I've made them a number of times and they turned out good. No shoulder chops where I usually buy them. So I seen shoulder boneless "ribs" instead. Well, they didn't cook through on the grill so I had to finish them in the skillet.
So, hmmm... I think I shall not cook tomorrow. LOL I think I may have enjoyed the day so much that I wasn't operating at full attention.
GOOOOOOOD MORNING!
It's a beautiful day! I still don't feel like I rested much. But today will be great because I woke up this morning with my mind, stayed on Jesus!
Seriously, I've been singing all morning. I just dropped dad off, and I'm going to church to chill for pretty much the rest of the day. We have a meeting this afternoon, and then Youth tonight. I'm excited. I get to hang out with my peoples today!
 I'm just not a morning person...
Last day of Prime Timer's campmeeting. It was fun but I'm glad it's over - mostly because one more night of sleeping on those bunk beds would snap my back half in two. Next time I'm definitely bringing my air mattress.
And my skillz are useful... the campground caretaker is setting up an improvised sound system because they suddenly decided to have the last service in the dining hall. Gotta go help plug stuff up. :D
:smirk2:
:chairspin:
Still alive...for now....
Final prognosis is I had formed a cyst that ruptured. Monday=going to the dentist and more pain. Sweet....
Never EVER give your dog people food!!! The only time you EVER should is if YOU take YOUR dog to the vet and they recommend it!! Don't do it just because your aunt Sally took her dog 8 yrs ago and they said it was ok. It is extremely rare a vet will recommend people food especially with the different types of food you can get from places like Petsmart and your local vets office. My Whiskeykins has to eat special gastrointestinal food because of her sensitive stomach after having parvo. I repeat: DON'T FEED YOUR DOG HUMAN FOOD!!!
Plus it makes them obnoxious and annoying when you're trying to enjoy a meal.....

A stapler?!? Brother, you need a welding rig and trusses...:ugly:
Oh which part of your wardrobe was it?
A. Pants
B. Shirt
C. Other
Pants.
He is talking about the time you stapled your fly closed.
I immediately assumed it was the load bearing part of his wardrobe, i.e., his shirt buttons or waistband....:ugly:
Or the seam on his hinder parts!

THE time? Dear, I've done that several times....either that or the crotch seam..... I've also had shirt issues. I even had the side seam tear out on a pair of shorts when I was in like 1st grade at school....
I have a long history of wardrobe malfunctions.
My most recent one being a crotch seam issue while working cards. :P
Dear Lord....the forecast is for 100 degrees next Friday.....104 Saturday....106 Sunday....104 Monday....
:sob:
I have had a good day.
Went to walmart and found some material on sale for $1.50 a yard, and I bought 4 yards to make a dress, when I got to the register I knew the girl from school and I ended up getting a very big discount! I paid about $2.00 for all of it!! WOO
The dress I have been working on so diligently is finally winning, I give up, I have pleated and hemmed all I can and it still sags... So I will attempt this one more time and I will READ THE DIRECTIONS lol..
Ever feel like you're the universe's bag holder?
After getting home from Prime Timer's campmeeting I drove to a town about 40 minutes away to meet a guy who had posted a laptop on Craigslist. Waited, waited... no guy. When I finally called him he said he had already sold it. The fact that he had told me he would sell it to me, that he caused me a 40 minute drive each way for nothing, did not seem to worry him in the least. So yeah, I'm left holding the bag. Again. :frustrated:
The elders campmeeting was nice, but on the whole this week has been... not the best. I sure will be glad when this week is over.
kmymbir that sounds like a good idea. "When all else fails, read the directions." :great:
Well....I don't know whether to be ticked or tickled. As everyone knows, I've had Rusty issues....Tore into the job today for the second time, fully expecting to find that I had done something wrong......
Nay. 30 minutes into the tear down, I discovered that the head rebuilder had put a plug where a plug ought not be, and my only mistake was not noticing it. Now the dilemma- tear it down and make sure nothing was harmed (cost- a few more days' headache and at least $50 for a gasket kit) or pull the plug- if possible- reassemble and drive. Hmmm... at any rate a head rebuilder and I will be chatting come monday evening.
Depends on your level of expertise. If it were I, I would take it to someone who knew what he was doing (like you) and hire him to tear it down and make sure nothing was harmed. But since you are you, at least you don't need to find someone else to do it.
If you just pulled the plug, reassembled and drove, what potential harm could be caused? Anything permanent?
EDIT: Rephrase that - anything irreparable?

Depends....I actually prefer a 1911, usually a Kimber, Para Ordinance, Colt, that kinda thing, but they are too pricey. My personal carry gun is a 1911 officer's model copy, made by Rock Island Armory. Great shooting gun, and comparable in quality to the higher end guns, but much cheaper.
Glocks are hard to beat, though. They are idiot proof, and fairly accurate, and can be made very accurate. Basically, it'll go "boom" every time you pull the trigger regardless. As an added bonus I am a Certified Glock Armorer, so I can completely go through them.

And Isaac, to answer your question, I don't think so. Just the time spent re-assembling if it indeed needs to be torn down again.
And lastly- could use your prayers. Am posting a request in the appropriate forum.
Wow.
I had a 17 hour day yesterday. I left the house at a little after 5am, and didn't come home till after 10pm. I can't even begin to tell you what all I did. :o
AND! I slept last night! I crashed HARD! Went to sleep at about 11, and now I just woke up at 7! I'm so glad! I only woke up once, at about 2:30, and I was so happy cause I still had 4.5 hours left to sleep, and I had been asleep already.
Thank you Jesus!
Church! Can't wait!
:hi:
I awoke dark and early at 4am for some reason. It has been a great morning so far, I have had more than enough time to get ready for church. I can not wait to see what God has in store.
P.S. I love how Melody ignores my call this morning just so she can post on here first. Thank you my pretend best friend.
Personally I wouldn't even know you had texted - I never check my phone. :P
Oh she knew, she actually told me she ignored me, it was harsh lol.
It wasn't a phone call. It was a walkie talkie message.
Please keep my friend Jennie and her new baby Marcus in your prayers. She began having seizures around 9 am Friday. Went into labor. Marcus arrived 2 months premature around 3 pm and neither are out of the woods yet :/
My Sunday morning struggle of to go to church or not has begun. I'm so tired of this. Why can't I live somewhere closer to any of you guys?!? I haven't heard from a one single person from my church since service last Sunday morning. I could literally fall off the face of the planet and they'd probably notice 3 months from now :/
KIMBER IS BEING MEAN TO ME!!!
Just so y'all know. She hit me with a pillow.
Your brilliance overwhelms me, Mel for one we are in church, so if you want to point fingers lol.
For two, you sat on me therefore I hit you in fairness, then you threw the pillow at the back of my head...

And now all is well and I just redeemed myself cause I shared with you my blanket. So you can warm your cold heart.
