We can't talk about slacking, we let the other thread get to 20 before starting this one. :nono:

You been doing that a lot lately... That's the thanks I get for taking up everyone else's slack? Usually the new thread is started when the old thread is on page 18 or so.
I can feel change in the air!!
That's MY change, and it flew in the air when you tripped me! Give it back!
Or at least give me back the quarters and dimes.
Give me all the half dollars and dollar coins!
Oh Come on! I'm allergic to copper I can't keep all the pennies. That's not fair guys.
Hahaha!

Hey SethiePoo. Long time no post.

So we had a tornado. About 5ish miles from my house. Thankfully I don't sleep well and the town alarm woke me up. Now I can't get my cat to come out of the basement.....
Howdy y'all.
To borrow Mini's phrase- Merning.
It's my Friday! And since Lou and I HAD planned to sneak away on a weekend vacation, I took Sunday off too. Now that Walmart, in their infinate wisdom, decided that they could not run without Lou this weekend, there'll be no trip. But, since I already have the day off approved, I'm gonna use it..... :thumbsup2: Hope y'all have a day. :smirk:
I'm sure I will have one, copper.
My legs are sooooooooooooooooooreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..................good gravy, I'm not gonna be able to walk soon.

Howdy y'all. After waking up and taking inventory, I seem to be functional yet again this morning. But I'm out of chocolate cheesecake. So a plus and a minus starting out, but the minus is bigger than the plus I think. Gotta make some more of that stuff...
I'm awake. I had kinda a rough night. My own fault though.
I've got to clean the bathroom really good today. Not looking forward to that AT ALL. And I have a few more loads of clothes to wash.

Go ahead and cry, it'll probably lead to intercession. Many times prophets cried when God gave them hard words. God knows. To know Him in the power of his resurection and in the fellowship of His suffering.
*Hugs and prayers back*
Why PM, you want to keep it a trade secret?
It's really simple.
1 stick butter, melted
1 cup sugar
1.5 bars Lindt 85% cocoa
2 packs cream cheese
4 eggs
This is for a small batch, maybe a 6 inch springform pan. I double it and put it in a 10 inch. Mmmmmm!
Melt butter, mix in sugar, then melt chocolate in with it. Mostly because if you tried to melt the chocolate into the cream cheese, cream cheese doesn't handle being melted very well. After chocolate is melted in, add cream cheese and eggs, beat to death. Pour in pan, bake at 300 for about an hour, mebbe less.
IMPORTANT: Cool gradually! The faster you cool it down, the more it will crack on top. Turn the oven off and let it sit for a good 20 minutes, then move it to the countertop for another 20 minutes, then to the fridge. After it is fridge-cool you can take it out and slice it. Try using dental floss to slice it (NEW dental floss, not used!) because if you use a knife it'll stick like everything.
And yes you can use hershey's cocoa powder if you have to. I prefer real cocoa though. No idea how much powder though... half a cup? Yeah, half a cup oughta do it.
Dear Lord.
I wish my brother would call and cancel this weekend. Mom won't do ANYTHING at ALL to help clean up. I've been working on this house for two days solid and she has layed in the bed watching TV and expecting me to bring her her meals. I refuse to. She is able to fix her own plate. I cook it! UGH! I am so stressed. The bathroom is a mess, and the toilet is backing up into the jacuzzi tub every time you flush. Whenever the water is draining from the shower, dishwasher, washer, kitchen, wherever, it bubbles the toilet and backs into the tub. It's discusting. But cannot be fixed cause there is NO MONEY. And dad cant hardly walk across the floor most days, much less crawl under the house and fix plumbing.
Sis Ramsey called and has the flu. She is on bed rest till Monday, so they wont be coming to our little get together anyway. Mom is griping cause she is afraid they will ask HER to do the nursing home on Saturday. She barely makes it to church, much less extra stuff. She has missed the last FOUR services. Two for no reason that I could see. *SCREAM*
I am SOO HOTTTT!! And the air isn't turning on either. Dad and I tried fixing it yesterday, and can't find the problem. I've been soaked with sweat for the last two days with no relief in sight cause again, NO MONEY! No one to do any of the physical stuff.
Dad went to dialysis and then his dr and they sent him to TWO heart drs after that. Don't know what is going on there. That's all we need is more junk happening to his health.
I'm trapped. I can't get away from the problems and SICKNESS and even if I had somewhere to go, I have no way to get there. No money and no car. I'm stressed. And lonely. And just don't have a clue what to do or how to do it. It's horrible.
Please God help. :pullhair:

Sorry to unload in the sharing thread. I just don't know what else to do. I had to get it out. *sigh*
Oh my sis, God has the strength for you. *hugs*
So Nathan broke his foot literally just walking. That is goofy. He's slightly irritated to be wasting time in "crutch training." He texted me, "Really? crutch training?"
I called a couple of guys so they could text and chat with him to raise his spirits a bit. We were JUST talking about broken feet last night at cell group cause another guy has a foot issue where they may have to break all his toes. New rule: no talking about injuries at cell group... LOL jk
My brother just called.
Everything is still a go for the weekend. 7 extra people in the house for a big fish fry. That may not sound like much, but right now it feels like a crowd.
I'd come and help if I could. It's not worth much just saying it though. Have you shared this with your pastor's wife? Maybe there is someone at church that would love to just come help out a day with you.
I say don't worry so much about the cleaning. If your mom's not worried about helping any, just straighten up a bit and let the rest go. *HUGS*

Get your brother to get down there and tinker with the plumbing. Surely in 7 extra people somebody's gotta know something about it. Your dad could advise and supervise while they provide the crawling and muscle.
Also what Fuzzy said. Also, don't kill yourself taking up slack for other people who won't. (Your dad is a different case, he just can't, and I wish I could be there to help.)
Yeah when he gets here he might can look at bother the plumbing and A/C. And thanks everyone for the support.
As for leaving the cleaning, I cant do that. My life would be even worse if I left it. No, she won't do it, but if it wasn't done, it would NEVER get done, and I would have to hear it from her, and my live would be a living *hot place*. And I have to do whatever she says cause if I don't, then she starts on her constant nagging, and makes dads life miserable too. So if she is mad at me, dad suffers too, so all I do, I do to keep the peace so my Daddy doesn't get worse. I wait on him hand and foot cause he is unable to do half what he does to keep us alive. And I appreciate him for it. But it's hard when she won't do anything.
I just cooked him some eggs and coffee, and he said once again "Thank you, I don't know what I would do without you, cause God knows your momma ain't gonna do anything for me."
He has said that to me many many times in the last month. And it's the truth. But to hear HER tell the story, she does everything for everyone, and no one does anything for her. When in reality, it's the other way around. She is the Queen and we dare not upset her, or it backfires on US. And so we just do it to try to keep the peace.
:frustrated:
And as for my Pastor and his wife, they know how it is. Pastor is her brother, and even he has remarked that he doesn't know how to handle her or our situation. And they aren't in the best of health either. Sis Ramsey has battled cancer, seizures and all kinds of sickness in just the three years I've been here. Everyone is sickly and decrepit, and I feel like I'm by myself most days. I'm thankful I at least have my health. For what that's worth.
Again, I'm sorry.
/me leaves Mel another hug
Mel-Mel, perhaps we should just start up our own nursing/old folks home. We both have plenty of candidates to start with. :smirk2:
don't apologize Mel. God's got an awesome blessing and fruitfulness in it all for you if you just keep loving everybody. You're an amazing woman of God, sis.
I'm just sorry I've been unloading such negativity. Normally I try too keep a good additude and my problems to myself. But I was just pushed beyond the limit today and I blew up.
Fixing to get ready and head to church with dad. At least I'll have some good hugs and some Jesus time in a little bit. :)

Mel, that's what I love about this place. We don't have to always be upbeat- we can be ourselves even in the bad times and know that the others will understand and, even better, lift us up in prayer. This place has literally been a Godsend for me over the past , what, year and a half, that I've been here.
And in my own sharing- Got home and began to install the free range we were given. that was quickly brought to a standstill by the discovery that the dadblasted old stove was hardwired in, not plugged in. I'm petrified of three things- heights, snakes, and electricity. I ain't going willingly near any of the above. So I gave up and called the local appliance repair man and scheduled a service call. Now, please, God let it be repairable and affordable to do so. Please.
I then stormed out to work on Rusty a bit. Got his valve cover pulled.....man, I'm dreading this head rebuild like a mugg. NOw I'm inside for the night, where maybe I won't destroy anything else.... :biglaugh:
Too bad we're so far. Hubby is good with electricity.
How shocking! ;)
Anywho...I feel MUCH better now. I got some good good GOOOOOD Jesus time! We watched a video from POA. Bro Mangun did the praying thru the tabernacle. Wow! Even through just watching the video we all ended up on our faces! Well I did, I don't know what everyone else was doing. I was oblivious. Haha.
I feel better about things, not as frustrated as I was, I still have cleaning to do tomorrow and cooking and getting things ready, BUT! I get to see my brother and his sweet kiddos on Saturday! We are gonna have a great time and all this mess will be forgotten. I'm gonna be fine. :D
Thanks everyone for the support while I was venting today. It's VERY nice to know that I have this place to come to. I wouldn't trade any of you for all the red M&Ms in Cleveland. ;)
*HUGS* to all! (even SethiePoo!)

relatively calm day. i got off work early. we finished the brakes on my car.
i haven't slept work anything the past 3 nights.
oh and we're supposed to have even stronger storms tomorrow evening/night than we did last night. guess who's just gonna go ahead and camp in the basement tomorrow night? ME!
Allow me to fill you in ducky- When you went down, so did a lot of others, God took people to their knees. Then those who did not drop, snot, and repent got prayed for by pastor! A few kids started to trip out and scream because of the volume. You may wonder how I know this, well I had a migraine and it was all I could do to stay in service, So I was holding my head watching in agony wishing I could participate. It got crazy in there! God was changing some people and their prayer lives.
So I was standing there minding my own business when randomly some one grabs me from behind and pulls me into the row of chairs behind me! I was about to scream and fight back, then I realize it was sister Ann, I think she was trying to pray the devil out of me. LOL She was literally screaming in my ear and I thought I would die. All I could do was tell myself I was taking it for Jesus. Eventually I fought through the pain and prayed through.
I had to get mom to drive home though, I'm now in my room in the dark, it's killing me to make this update. But I miss you all and I love you all enough that checking in is worth it.
I need to try and sleep now.
Good night.
You called me Ducky while I am watching him on my TV perform an autopsy on some chick who wrapped her car around a tree. Lol!
:)
Weirdos.
You are our King, Darling. ;)

In SHARING news, today I popped down to Jackson to pick up a laptop from some guy who wanted to sell it. It has a firewire port, so I'm hoping it will work with my MOTU audio interface.
Then I went by Goodwill and got three pairs of dress pants for $9. That's $3 a piece, $9 for all three of them. I think I like that place. Picked up a USB keyboard and two computer mice there too.

The only sandwhiches where I cook the bread is like grilled cheese type where it's all being made at the same time. So if you mean the toaster, no but I could see the logic. Otherwise I use hamburger buns and such for cold sandwhiches. Nathan heats it all up in the microwave. THAT I think is nasty cause it's almost soggy.
I like my toast well done though. ☺

And the toast...yes, in the toaster. And anything really, but ESPECIALLY tomato sandwiches taste better with the bread burnt a bit. And I agree, I LOVE a big sesame seed hamburger bun with tomato on it, or other sandwich meat. Yummy. Sometimes I burn that a little on purpose too. ;)
I'm awake. Gonna be a good day today. As Sis Mom used to say to me "MAKE it a good day!"
Cleaning the kitchen really good, and the dreaded bathroom, and gotta figure out something to rig up to cover up the tub so our guests can't see the nasty backed-up toilet water in there. Can't fix it so have to cover it for now. Also gotta make tater salad and pies today. And dad wants steak for dinner. So I have a busy day ahead. Better get started. :-)
Have you heard from Sis Mom lately?
Not really. She is super busy these days, and I talked to her for a couple of hours around Christmas. I really need to call again. But it's hard to catch her when she isnt busy.
Shoot her.

Anyone want an old desktop tower? I mean *really* old. This Dell was made back when Dells were white. It's running XP right now, barely. It's in my office at church, I used it to type the church bulletin and burn CDs for years. It'll print out a PDF file if you give it about half an hour to think about it. Don't even ask about 3D games.
The reason I don't want it anymore is I have a slightly less old computer to replace it. The reason I ask online is because I can't imagine anybody around here would want it, even the people I give computers to that just need a basic computer that'll work.

Wow, Heather. It's nearly 80 degrees, sunny and a tad windy here. No storms at all.
And the repair man just left. The stove is dead. The part to replace to fix it is over $300 and I'd still just have a 1985 model stove. RIP old friend.
Gonna install the one that was given to us in a few...I really hope it works. We have enough to buy a new one, but it would destroy any thoughts of vacation... :(
I'm alive! But I feel sluggish and drugged today, I can see I'll not get much done, I'm extremely weak. At least the migraine is gone.
A tad bit windy there maybe Roscoe, because you sent all the wind over here! It's blowing fit to break something. I'm almost afraid my cat will blow away if she wanders outside the garage. Fortunately she's smart enough to know when it's a good day for sleeping in.
You going to Wintervention tonight, Kimber?
Whew doggie! I am tired already. I'm drinking a Full Throttle though, so hopefully I'll be ok in a bit. Ive still got a bunch to do. I made the tater salad, and tarter sauce, marinated the steaks, washed the dishes, next I'm gonna put the shrimp on the skewers and make the pies. Plus I gotta figure out another dessert that I can make with a cake mix...not a cake tho. Sis Ramsey was gonna make her special cake, but she isn't now. So I gotta figure something out.
Ok, break is over. Gotta get going.

You could make dump cake Melb!! All you'd need is some butter and a can of pie filling!
Cake mix cookies? They are easy.
Mel you trip me out, no I will not be able to attend tonight, I need to get my strength back. The idea of getting car sick again, then having to sit on the top row where I will have anxiety attacks the entire time, followed by the possibility of falling a million flights of stairs to my death does not sound like a good time to me.
Yall please pray for Barb

Sorry if this in the wrong place to put this but Barbara gave me her phone and asked me to request prayer. We have her at the e.r. as it seems she has had a stroke. We are waiting for them to get her admitted. Will update as soon as I know more. -Roby
BOL! Plus I won't be there for you to clutch the entire time you are up so high! Lol
Jenn...mom used the pie filling the other day for a snack, then I finished it off with some cottage cheese. (apple) lol
Praying for Barb. :(

Sorry to hear about Barb. Strokes are no fun. My grandmother and grandfather on my mother's side both had them. :-\
Got a call from my hubby--he's in the Er. A binder hit him in the face--getting stiches and a possible broken nose.
I think i may go by walmart and pick him up some pink camo bandaids. ;)
A... binder? When I hear binder I think of the thing you clip pieces of paper into. A broken nose would probably be beyond that kind of binder's impact range. What kind of binder was this?
I decided on a cake after all. Found this recipe for a cinnamon pound cake using a mix. Looks simple enough, and we have the ingredients.

Praying for Barb. I'd pray for Cletus' nose, but I'm sure living with you means that it's not the first time it's been broken. :laughhard: :couch:
And Glory to God- The replacement stove works terrific! I feel like dancing! I even got energetic and swapped out the dryer like I meant to do a month ago. The new one works perfectly and is twice as quiet as the one we had.
You know- God is really good to me. I swear everything I own has broken or been damaged since January 1, but when the dryer acted up- God kept it working until a better one was GIVEN to us. The stove acts up- God had someone in our church with one they didn't need. Price- come get it. You can't tell me God don't take care of His own! Even when we don't understand why and when it don't happen on our time, He's still right there, saying " I got this."
im not exactly sure what a binder is...i assume it is what they use to tie down tractors to trailers.
Believe it or not Ive never broke his nose. Ive given him a black eye....lol

Guess I can't complain - remember when a brother at church just GAVE me a car? I'm still a bit in shock over that one.

I'm not sure what it is either, but that's what I've heard International products called all my life. International trucks, tractors, you name it, I've always heard them called "binders" or Cornbinders".

Roscoe, when I ran out of appliances to break down, Nathan broke his foot. :smirk2: lol
Oh no about Barb. I've been wondering where she has been and how's she's been doing. I almost called her yesterday, but I couldn't think of anything interesting to say.
So, just to be transparent, and I really don't care who judges me, they can go pray through. We are learning how to manage our finances *together* and it was a shocker to see on paper what the reality was. We have been upside down since we moved here. I think I've gotten more gray hairs... lol I don't want to give the devil any credit but he sure has been taking advantage of everything he can.
The last couple of years Nathan has had his own remodeling co. and keeping all that straight is a challenge when he's exhausting his energy actually working. So we didn't expect a dime back from taxes, we knew we would just owe out the whazoo. But low and behold, with his deductions and whatever else, we're getting a return! He told me last night and I just started crying and thanking God. If it hadn't been so late at night I woulda shouted the roof off. My faith in God's provision when WE are responsible for not managing what He's given us and made a mess of it was, well, one of those things that I professed but felt totally insecure about. I "knew" it, I wanted to believe it, but I also know we reap what we sew.
I don't feel like shouting today. I feel quiet and secure. My God is more than enough, and He is my portion.

I totally understand the whole -We-made-a-mess-not-managing-well thing...........We are currently making more than we ever have and have less than we have ever had, thanks to some not so wise decisions a couple of years back. Thank God we are trying to get it together....I've been listening to the Dave Ramsey show and working some of his ideas, even though I haven't had the time to go throgh the classes. I can at least see the light at the end of the tunnel. Now I'm worried that it might be a train. :smirk2:
I got up and cleaned a bit then made a meatloaf and it wore me out so I ended up going to sleep. I just got up and I feel bad still but that's okay I will get through this.
Every time I look at the title of this thread I think "Everybody was kung foo fighting...."
Trying out the new oven....found a receipe for "Blackberry Coffee Cake" that looked awesome, and simple to make. It's in the oven now.... :fork: I went to Walmart and as usual, spent way more than I needed to on food....Lord, we're eating ourselves outta the house and home.

You ever hear or preach a message about God providing for us prior to the need? Happened here. :P Just so happens the house I bought was originally built for a man who was in a wheelchair, so in order for him to be able to get around, it's all one floor, level concrete, and best of all- the doors are three foot wide. I'm good for at least ten more years of pigging out. :laughhard:

Dave Ramsey is what we were advised. They had showed the videos at church but we were helping with kids stuff during that time.
We checked out the book at the library, "Total Money Makeover" and it is so sensible it makes me wanna smack myself. Common sense that isn't so common anymore. No get rich quick, no spend money to make money goofiness. I see the light, it's just uphill.
You know what though, we had some friends move recently to help with a church and they said the ONLY way they could be doing this right now is because God showed them they needed to deal with their money in a Godly way. They did the D.Ramsey thing, got completely out of debt and are free to do the will of God now. Wouldn't have been able to do it if they had car payments and such. They said this is how missionaries can actually GO.
It hurts, but I'm thankful for the chastening. Rice and beans, beans and rice... lol
I am TRYING! God knows I am, to keep a positive addtitude today. Everything has went WRONG WRONG WRONG. And there is still so much to do. I didn't say anything earlier, I was trying to put a bold face on it, but I can't take it anymore!
I sealed off the tub, now the mess is backed into the shower, and it made me sick. I had to go outside and now I think I've stripped my vocal cords cause I was dry heaving hard for the longest before I actually got relief. Lord. Now I sound lie a dying frog.
Dear lord, now what are we gonna do?
I just really really want to run away. It seems to be getting worse. I can't take this anymore.
Where are friends and church family to come help? I don't remember knowing how many are in your church, is there NO one that would come and at least follow your dad's instructions?
Yeah, but no one knows how bad it is. We have about 80 regulars. But the ones that are willing to help are having health issues themselves, or they live too far away. It's just a mess. And I'm really trying not to complain.
Our toilet and tub does the same thing Mel. My dad is able to fix it and refuses and we don't have the money to get it fixed.
My dad would fix it if he was able. And I got frustrated cause I was trying to clean and I obviously can't clean it if the water won't drain, and is all nasty, so I got upset, then dad felt like I was bashing him, so he got upset and yelled at me, so I got MORE upset and ran off crying to my room, and then had a coughing fit, thought about the mess in the bathroom and made myself sick to the point of throwing up so hard that my throat is now in flames. *sigh*
And there isn't any money to call a plumber.
One GOOD thing that happened today was the A/C got fixed. Mom called the A/C place and a guy came out and fixed it. Free. The moisture switch thingy was broke. He replaced it, and it's fine now.
Can your dad give you directions about what to do? I have prayed and believe that you guys, or someone is going to help you and if nothing else, your family will when they come to visit. Perhaps there is a greater thing in this with your family seeing the help you need with your parents. I'm glad it's not a blizzard there like up north. All smells are intensified when it is too cold to open windows and doors for ventilation.

I know it will be ok. Especially when Chad gets here. Hopefully he will see the needs and help. He won't get here till 3 or so, but maybe he can help fix the problem.
I may go to the church and shower tomorrow morning before we have to be at the nursing home.
See if he'll come up here and help next.

Kimber...I miss you.
:D
Mel-Mel is becoming me. :D
And that makes you happy?!
Two Seths is a scary thought :o
NO NO NO, there can not be two of Seth, I'm filing divorce for you Mel. He clearly is a bad influence.
I took a pill and I'm going to bed.
I did however, inspect the bathroom again. The shower water had drained, and I was able to flush the toilet without any incident. I might be able to actually take a shower HERE tomorrow, after a good scrubbing of the shower floor with comet and bleach.
*shudder*
There can't be two of Seth...and even if I am like him right now...it will pass and I'll be cheery crazy self soon. Seth never cheers back up. He is always his grumpy gloomy self. Lol
I'll make you think grumpy, gloomy self....

It's because I'm always me and I'm always surrounded by the things that I'm always surrounded by. :P
Sometimes I wish I could take a laptop to work and get some stuff done. Today for example. I have a lot to do setting up multiple computers *just right* and I had plenty of time to get it done. Work was slow, slow, sssslllllooooowwwwwwwww tonight, I could have gotten a laptop configured three times over.
So now I'm off work, got lots to do and I'm in a bad mood because it could already be DONE if someone would cut short the love affair with the rule book. :pound:
Yeah, I know, I know, there's a good reason. Still irks me though.
Seth should buy himself an Emu and a Camel. Just sayin.
I would love to.
Who's going to donate me the money for that?
Not me.
I cleaned the shower this morning, it was all drained. So I scrubbed it, and then took a shower myself! THANKS GOD! Just as I was finishing up and about to get out, the water started puddling around my feet. But at least it was clear water and not sewage!
So of course, I feel much better about it now. The shower is clean, and if it will just let us be able to flush today while company is here, then we should be ok till it's able to be fixed.
And mom is actually up and getting ready to go to the nursing home. It's gonna be a good day. (let's try this positive thing again...)
Oh, and I didn't go to sleep till after 4. And I got up at 6. I didn't sleep, so I read, and revived, a few threads. Woke Dad up at 4, then finally passed out.
Anyone want to come take care of my handicapped husband?
We said bye this morning for the second-to-last time as an engaed couple this morning! :teeth: Just TWO weeks! :)
And this is my last Saturday at TJ Maxx Jonesbro! :) Possibly forever....I dunno yet.
We got most of my furniture moved out yesterday, next weekend I'm taking clothes. Weird. Haha.. My room looks weird with stuff piled around so my furniture could go.
We got our license yesterday and finished most of our wedding party gifts! Yay! Next is packing for the honeymoon.. and getting the rest of my junk to IL. I'm going to run an errand today after work to get a price list for my coordinator's gift so I can make sure I can pay for it! Haha.. Then home for a nap! Yay!

:grape:
:hi: Pretty day here.
I need to clean up and get ready and go to church. Philippines missionary tonight.
SHARING: (In case anyone wants to know) Pretty good day here so far. Woke up to a nice clear sunny day. My firewire cable had come Friday, and I had a few other things to tinker with at the church anyway, so I went to the church today and swapped out some computer stuff. Put a different monitor on the computer I put in the office for Sis Amy because the monitor had taken to making a really high, really steady, really annoying noise. Put a new computer in my office (well, not quite as old) because it's time for that old Windows 98 box to retire. Bless that old computer's silicon heart, it was made for Win98 and I had it running XP, burning CDs with Nero, playing videos as best it could. I put a DVD burner in the slightly-less-old computer that is replacing it, and the replacement computer has much more RAM. Then I went to the sound booth and started setting up my computer to be able to talk to the MOTU audio interface (what I needed that firewire cable for.) Got halfway through that and ran out of time, had to run back home to meet up with the family.
At which point the family all adjourned to Jackson, met up with the rest of the family at Olive Garden and had a great time celebrating Grandma's 80th. 12 of my family at one table is a daunting prospect. Nice as they can be, my family, but they all got a good, lively and vigorous sense of humor. The waiters there must have recognized a bunch of lunatics when they saw them, because they took it all in stride. Dad came down from Kentucky, which really surprised Grandma cause she was the only one who didn't know he was coming.
After we had eaten a lot and talked a lot, the ladies all decided to adjourn to Kohls to shop for clothes, while the men went to some sporting goods store. I caught a ride with Debbie, my cousin, and her husband Doug, because they were coming home.
So now I'm going to rest for a bit, then go back to the church, finish arguing with the computer and type the bulletin for tomorrow.
Spent last night and most of today at the VA District Timothy Group meeting. WOW!!! If you can get a copy of Greg Godwin's "The Over Under Factor" DO IT!! Wow it is life changing teaching!!
My day as follows:
I got up, got dressed, edited pictures, cleaned, cooked, cleaned, entertained our visitors, received a gift, edited more photos, went to town, got two shirts for free, come home, and now I am online!
It has just been one thing after another piling up on poor Brandon. I wish I could take all his stress away....
I survived another work week. Somehow.
Hopefully the transmission will hold out in our 1 working/legal car and I can make it to church tomorrow....
Went to church, came home. Etc.
Well!! Our day was great! (no, no sarcasm here)
My brother didn't fix the plumbing problem, he and dad talked it over and inspected it and it's a bigger problem than can be fixed right now. But for the time being, it's not backing up anywhere. Our visit went well, and everyone was happy and FULL when they left here. My cake was awesome and got rave reviews. As did my pies, potato salad, beans, homeade tarter sauce and shrimp kabobs. Chad brought flounder and grouper and we had ourselves a feast. Then I went and hung out with Honor and the kiddos while my brother prayed at the church. Went and got milkshakes at a drive in, and came home. They are back at the hotel now, and I am contentedly in my PJs and about to watch NCIS.
Today was a really good day. :)
My kiddos are getting so big!

I had a great nights sleep! No crazy dreams, 7 solid hours of blissful peaceful sleep.
Headed to church now, gonna have a GREAT day! Ann already said she is taking me to my favorite restaurant for lunch, and she bought me a black cat stuffed animal yesterday. Looks just like my Ebbs! So sweet. I'm taking it to church to show a few people. I LOVE IT! Haha.
Have a great Sunday everyone!
Oh yeah? What if we've made other plans? What if we don't WANT to have a great...

In other news, last night I whipped up a single batch of chocolate cheesecake. Do NOT cook a single batch as long as I stated in that recipe I posted earlier. It was still edible, but nowhere near as oh-so-incredibly-good. And dental floss wouldn't cut it, but on the plus side it didn't stick to the knife this time. More like a cheesecake/brownie than a proper cheesecake.
As Roscoe was the one requesting the recipe I'd send him a PM about the cooking time, but have no idea if he'd check his messages between now and when he tries it.

Great great day! Amazing church, then a staff meeting, then food, now home.
Time for a nap.
:hi:
Howdy.
I just got home, I could probably sleep through the rest of today, I am at peace.
God handled a lot of stuff for me today, there is still a lot of stress on me, but a great deal has been lifted.
Bro. Chad Six (Melody's Brother) taught Sunday School and spoke again in the main service! That man was covered in anointing today and it started flowing through the building!
On the way home the Wilson's took me to eat. On the way home we talked about some family situations and how to handle them. PRAISE GOD FOR BLESSINGS!
:hi:
Took a nap, went to church at Green Valley, came home.
I need to go finish tending the fowl.
They've gave me a farther away store to have to handle for the present time..without asking or telling me about it beforehand.... I'm not real happy about it, just because of the added distance....I get paid for the time to get there, but that doesn't put me coming out very much ahead....bleh. They're sposed to hire somebody for out that direction....they're awfully slow about it.
I would like the recipe too... please.
I think Chel broke GP. Glad it's working again.
Thank ya lord! We are back up!
What recipe, the chocolate cheesecake? I already posted it.

Well, I would have checked in at the hiney crack of dawn this morning, but it was down at that time, and I was at work till just while ago. Shew.
Blah.
Eating a RBP.
Gotta finish tending fowl in a bit.
Melodya, how do you make that cottage cheese dip stuff you make?
Quote from: MelodyB on March 06, 2012, 03:07:41 AMMelodya, how do you make that cottage cheese dip stuff you make?
I just made some today actually. Cottage cheese, diced red peppers, diced green peppers and dried beef. The dried beef is super thin sliced, in the aisle. You take about half out and cut it up about the same size as the peppers. Violร ! I could eat that all day with some ruffles or doritos.
So after a long wknd with my lame husband, he finally got to go to the reg. Dr. today. They said although it is broken, it looks like it is doing well. No cast, 2 weeks staying off of it with the boot thing on, then gradually work it back into normal walking. PTL! This is our 5th night sleeping on the couches. I'm exhausted. I just know I won't sleep well upstairs knowing I can't hear him if he needs something.

As long as she doesn't smell like one. Skunks are pretty.
We'll just call her Flower.... Fitting, since she's already a hippy flower child. :hippy:

Cool. She just got a new nickname.
Signing in to say howdy. :hi: I miss you all. Wasn't able to keep up with everyone last week. And now I'm about 8 pages behind in the sharing thread. Hmph.
Anyhow.
Hope everyone is well, happy, and causing trouble. ;)
:beret:
Then you missed the major issues I had Thursday and friday. Major meltdown for sure. But I am good now.
:smirk2:
Weirdos.
kmymbir can't get on the forum for some reason, but she requests prayer. She said the symptoms she is going through usually herald another kidney stone. Anyone who has had kidney stones, you know what that means. :o :cry2:
Morning!
I'm spending the day with Ann today! Dad is gonna drop me off at church when he goes to Dialysis, and Ann will come in and we will pray, then start our day! Can't wait!
Got lots of stuff planned for today. Gonna go see a newborn that is 7 days old. I'm excited about that!
Morning. Bah. I ever mention I'm NOT a morning person?!? :hi:
I'm not even sure you're a person, period.
:hi:
Supposed to get to a windy 70ยฐ today!
Also, I have a plan for making my own hammock. Stay tuned. (http://gfxlovers.com/smilies/imgs/girly/girly004.gif)
Other than that... laundry, clean house and keeping Hannah on task for school work.
I am finally able to get on! I was getting worried, I missed you all, I tried all day yesterday. For those of you who prayed THANK YOU. I feel just fine today. My God Is A HEALER!!
*Does a happy dance for the Lord
Mom had to come pick me up so I could come do laundry today. I did go to church sunday but not exactly the one I wanted to go to. I still felt God's presence and He is definitely working on my mind and heart.
Brandon's car is now legal and his truck has most of the lights rewired. Both of my cars are on the out. We drove the Cavalier saturday but now the master cylinder and the alternator went out. It's pretty much gonna be something all the time for awhile. It sat for 12 years afterall.
Ordered some great jersey knit skirts from Old Navy. I love them. I have 2 already. They are so comfortable....
Cars hate you. Maybe you were destined to be Amish. How are you with horses?
Quote from: HeatherB on March 06, 2012, 05:05:49 PMOrdered some great jersey knit skirts from Old Navy. I love them. I have 2 already. They are so comfortable....
I need to check those out, they sound comfy.
Seth-I have always joked I needed a horse. Or possibly a large Newfoundland that can pull me around in a wagon.
MY-They are so comfy!! I ordered a longer ankle length one and another that cuts at the top of my shin.
Been diggin in poo.
Eating a RBP.
I got a cherry icee! It's good, I've got a bit of good news today, but I'm waiting to share until God opens the door.
My room looks like a hurricane hit, I've got things every where, as a matter of fact it looks the way it usually does right before I pack up to move. HMMM... Maybe God is telling me something, I may start packing before the nights finished, I've got no where to go but God can always supply that.
:hyper: I'm happy for you, Kimber! ;)
I hope you get to move, Kimber. Somewhere that you can have some peace.
Enjoying a nice Spring day. Also stocked up on allergy medicine. Missing my hubby though.
Eating some cottage cheese......
Got home and started cleaning out some old clothes. Now sitting here watching Tangled. Again :)
Are you eating pie filling with it?
I'm eating cheddar cheese, crackers, and V8.
I just had some pears with mayo and cheese. Mom had GE cheese and peaches.
Hi.
Hello.
You nasty people.
Oh and you are just the cream of the crop?
If by cream you mean white mold....
I had noodles with butter and parmasen.
Finally got ahold of someone from church to come get me for tomorrow evening. Yay!
Ahhh, tonight was a good peaceful night.
Last night I had to handle the work of FOUR brazers. That's four people putting copper braze on parts, two per furnace line, and me all by my little lonesome catching, leak checking, examining, oiling and packing. I was running wide open all night.
Tonight I was still tired, so I needed a night like tonight right about now. :)
:hi: And...I'm back at work. Again. It's the last day of the week for me though, so I'll survive. Sadly, they are forecasting storms today, tomorrow, and Friday, with a chance Saturday, so it's reasonable to believe my days off will be spent lollygagging aroud, doing nothing productive. I *might* cook a little- that'll be the extent of it though.
In total sharing- I drove the Corvette a few miles last night. I think I've finally got its major issues lined out. I'm gonna try sneaking it to work in the next week or so, if the weather's good. I didn't realize I missed driving one of those cars so much- after last night, I remember why I love them. :freaky2:
:hi: It's supposed to rain here in the next few days, also.
It is supposed to rain here too. But I'm hoping it doesn't. We need a really dry season to help our septic drain field to dry out some.
I spent some time in the yard yesterday, it was lovely, today I plan to go kill who is knocking on the front door!! :pullhair: :uzi2: :2pistol: :2gun: :uzi: :fire: :tank: :war: :fighter:

There is a saying, "It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others." You sir, are on that list, watch it!
Mel- I know that look, and I suggest you remove it, I WILL find you.
:hypocrite:
I have done nothing to deserve that threat from lady kymbmer. I am innocent, as usual. :hypocrite:
BOL! Way to go, Roscoe, stating the obvious.. AGAIN. :laughhard:
It's supposed to rain here too. I wonder if it's the same storm system? I have some pies to make today, that's about it.
I have such an itch to laugh. Full out belly laugh.

I love how much better I feel when I go to church. Deep down good, reguardless of circumstances.
How do you hide your phone from yourself?
Uh DUH, throw it in the toilet and flush, no telling where it will end up. I just had mine disconnected, cheaper that way, Try it you may like it.

Try cooking a chocolate cheesecake. And the Corvette has FOUR wheels... keep it on all four of them. And check your PM.

Thinking of the cheesecake- I also found a recipe for a blackberry swirl cheesecake, so I can almost gaurentee some sorta cheesecake being made. :fork:

Um...are you forgetting our septic problems? The toilet barely flushes as it is, we don't need to add to it. Plus it would prolly wind back up in the shower.
I just took a shower, and it drains fine until I am almost done. Then the water starts puddling at my feet. Good thing I have started wearing my camp flip flops in there.

poor mel....I sympathize. If it rains hard we have septic issues too. One of the reasons I hate rain. And the old guy I bought the house from told me that it has done that since new, so its doubtful I could do anything to fix it.

I'm sorry, I've experienced septic system problems, I know how rough it is, and how nasty it can be... but I had to laugh at that one. The phone being flushed and winding up in the shower... I'm still laughing and it's hard to type this.
Have I mentioned I hate insurance companies lately? As I posted the other day, Lou's car was violated by her uncle, who slammed his pickup into the side of it. It's taken over a week to get the insurance claim processed- then the dipwads inform me that 1) they found parts cheaper than my shop, so they're taking $300 off the estimate. If we wish to use gm parts, my bodyshop will have to send them a invoice. Then they inform me that 2) while they would pay for a rental, we would have to pay for it, then send them the invoice and they'd reimburse me. Why can't they simply pay the amount my bodyshop says it will cost, and pay the car rental?!? :reaction: Why should I have to be out $200 until they reimburse me?!? :reaction: Idiots. I'd love to reach through the phone and tase the rep repeatedly..... :flamingmad:
Well, we still haven't gotten ANYTHING from them from hubby's wreck and he was rear-ended. *sigh
Went to work, came home, etc. Blah blah blah.
I just got back from town, It was a long trip, why do people make a hundred trips to town a week. Really people make a list and go once, this will save gas and time, it will also make me happy.
I sit it down and get busy at work. Then I can't remember what I did with it. Lol. I just choose to call it hiding it instead of losing it. Lol
I'm waiting on Sis K to come pick me up now actually. I didn't think I'd make it home. All my rides home bailed and I thought I was gonna have to walk. But lo and behold my anti-church mother happened to txt saying she'd be my way around the time I got off work, did I need a ride home. Funny how God does stuff like that.....
Was gonna go to church at Bro. Weir's, but went up the road and there was a tree across the road up the hill, so I just came back to the house, cause I would have been late if I'd went all the way around the other direction.
I need help please!
This Saturday is the reception for my Grandpa and his new wife, They are wanting me to have a time slot, it is up to me what I do in that slot. I have been looking for poems, songs, a speech, jokes, a dance... I don't care what I do as long as it fits and is the right thing. Any suggestions??
Keep in mind they were both widowed after their late spouses died from cancer, this is their second marriage and they are in their 60's and 70's.
Hula Hoop while reciting the Gettysburg Address.
I have hula hoops!!!!
My toes itch.
I know what you could do at the reception!!! All you need is a bedside commode, like you get at a medical supply store, a can of Lysol and a match! Yippie!
Roscoe: If I can't have a flamethrower, you can't use a taser on them. :nono: Besides, if you did you'd NEVER get your money back.
Howdy y'all. Placid day for the most part today. Most exciting part was when I came back from third break to find both lines had changed parts and I had to scramble to swap out tubs, get the totals written down, get the parts oiled, etc.
Flamethrowers are easy! Just fill a super soaker with lighter fluid and there ya go!
:freaky2:
And have it blow up. I sure hope you don't really try that...
Mel-Mel doesn't only have 3 fingers left for nothing. :ugly:
LOL
Seriously Mel, have you tried this?
Cold, gloomy day here. Clean around the house and laundry. Our dryer went out, isn't that fun? LOL I hope the robes we get in heaven stay white, cause I am NOT doing the the laundry.
Morning, everyone. One of the websites I use at work is down, so I'm messing around hoping it comes up soon.
I'm sure you're just devastated.
I'd rather do it now that have to rush later.
Do you guys not have full coverage insurance? Or what! lol
I had oh I dunno 4 wrecks last year...plus one this year already in January (ALL of them not my fault) and I never had an issue with insurance on any of them. Ever. I never had to pay out of pocket for any repairs, or a rental car.
I have never actually tried the super soaker flamethrower. I'm waiting on Barb to come visit. :freaky2:
We didn't have full coverage on that vehicle but it was the other guy's fault and his insurance is SUPPOSED to pay.
Well, I got up, and mom was getting ready to take the truck and go run some errands, dad is at dialysis, so there isn't anyone here or anything to do but go back to sleep. yay!
It's one of those days at work that I like my job but dislike the people I work with....
Bro & Sis K actually gave me money to buy the part I need to fix my brakes, but it has to be ordered. Hopefully it'll be here tomorrow so we can work on it Saturday.
Howdy y'all.
I need a good guitar player.
That is all.
Hello all. Anybody got an ark I can borrow? We've gotten close to three inches of rain since the early morning hours. :o...
And, Jenn, yes we have full coverage, but we went through the uncle's insurance since it was his fault. Just more paperwork to deal with my insurance company... and they WILL pay for the rental, it's just the dad-blasted inconvience of it all that torques me off.. :pound:
Now, much to my surprise, my wife is off of work. And chey is home, out of school. And I am trapped indoors. The shop has got an inch of water covering the back half of it, and I have nothing much I can do out there without parts. One of us- Lou or me- will doubtless be insane by this evening. :biglaugh:
On the happy side- she is cooking my favorite dinner for me- lasagna. :fork: And I am debating whether to make a Blackberry Swirl cheesecake or a chocolate cheesecake....and whether to do it today or tomorrow. ??? I think I've got a library book I haven't read yet.....
Library book versus chocolate cheesecake... library book versus chocolate cheesecake... hmm, think, think, think, which would be...
Set out the cream cheese to soften already, you know you want to.
:biglaugh: I'm with Isaac on that one. Much as I love books, cheesecake would win out. But I see no reason why you can't do both. :bigcheese:
Been working on a Great EsCape. May have bumped into a bit of a snag, but we shall see. Gotta feed the kiddos some lunch and then back I go to plotting and planning. And Cutting Cape(rs).
:beret:
See not me...I don't like...or in fact pretty much hate cheesecake. Bleck!
So I'd def. pick the book over cheesecake.
Quote from: SippinTea on March 08, 2012, 07:50:28 PMBut I see no reason why you can't do both. :bigcheese:
:beret:
Exactly. Why choose when you can have both? Reading while it's cooking/cooling and making Mrs.Roscoe feel special is a win win. By special I mean put a heart of something on it. Powdered sugar, cocoa, syrup, berries... ect.
Rather than do something productive today, I laid in the floor and went to sleep.
Well- I have sampled the lasagna and it is good. :fork:
Unfortunantly the cheesecake is postponed. I'd put out the cream cheese to soften in preparation of taking over MY kitchen again after Lou cooked the lasagna, when this dern storm zapped my power. We're all electric, so no power means no cook....the lights are back on, but I'm paranoid that it will happen again when I'm midway through baking, thereby ruining my cake...mayhap tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the aforementioned book, recliner, Dr. Pepper, and if necessary, coal oil lamp will be a fat and contented Roscoe's sidekicks until a power nap claims him... :laughhard:
/me runs into the room and SCREAMS, and runs back out.
I have yet to find something to do for the reception. My face is dry for some reason.
We watched "Hogs Gone Wild" about Ferrel? Hogs reaking havock.
Good luck with that southerners.
Kimber is up to something. And I'm not sure what. :eyebrow:
No good, no doubt.
W2cch,tfas.
While we were at church tonight, Furby ate two and and half large chocolate chip cookies that mom had in her room. Maybe he will join Eboni in the afterlife by morning.
Mel, you are going to LOVE this when I'm done, I'm so proud of myself.
Ugh.
Morning everyone. I need to finish paperwork...bleh...
:reaction:
/me dances around singing :sing: It's Friday, it's Friday.
:pound: PF for getting that song in my head.
Andrew's school break has started so no school. It feels like a Saturday and I can't go get groceries today so I think I'm just going to rig a clothesline and make some bread and muffins for the week.
I use fabric softener and things like jeans are STILL stiff when air dried. I think I'm going to very much dislike clotheslining my clothes. They always have a hardness to them. :-?
I don't dry any of my skirts...I hang them to air dry....so they're always stiff! lol
But I can't imagine any of my *ahem* other items to be air dried and stiff!
Howdy y'all.
I still need to find a good guitar player.
That is all.
LOL Jenn! I won't be hanging those out. (http://urduart.com/gallery/data/682/girly025_2.gif)
yeah, I absolutely cannot stand it. I'm not going to keep using fabric softener if they are still going to be stiff. Waste of money. At least until I get our dryer fixed. I might try and fix it since Nathan can't do much with his broken foot.
Does anyone know at what temps are ok to clothesline clothes or is it just as long as they can dry and not become frozen? lol Is the sun going to fade my clothes?
In Little House on the Prairie books they even freeze dried clothes.
You can dry them at any temp. When people had no other way to do it, they hung them out regardless, even when it did freeze them. :smirk2:
Oh, btw Meller, I didn't know there was a song like that, I was making up my own. lol
I would love a clothesline for sheets and blankets. My down comforter (or one of them) reallllllly needs to be washed, but it's a king, so it's WAY too big to dry. I need to hang it out to dry.

I'm going to town in a bit....trying to do several errands to make it worth it....stupid trainer lady emailed me last night wanting me to do something at a certain store that's not worth my time to go there to do it even.... Going to try to do a few things even though I don't wanna. *scowl*
MY - yes, you can dry them even when they freeze. I've done it. As far as the sun - yes, it will fade them over time. If your clothesline isn't in the shade, I would be cautious about hanging any favorite (brightly colored) clothes. White or light things (sheets, towels, etc) usually aren't an issue. Anything black, navy, red, blue, bright or dark green, etc, will be.
Chris is going to have mandatory overtime at work next week. Again. *sigh* I am so tired of this. The extra money is lovely, but I hate seeing what it's doing to HIM. This job is plenty stressful enough for 8 hrs straight without adding in extra hours. And it makes ME stressed to see the look on his face when he walks in the door after one of those days. Another whole week of it... yay... here we go again. Maybe I'll try to think up something fun to do with the boys next week to try to make it easier on them. Weeks with overtime aren't fun for any of us. And maybe I need to come up with a few extra nice things to put in Chris's lunches or something. Not that it will make his day less stressful, but at least it would remind him he's loved. :-?
I'm behind on ToB orders. That's a nice thing in one way. :) Almost before I get one thing done, I've got two more orders coming in. And lately when I post pictures on the ToB FB page of the latest custom jobs, it's generated another (almost instant) sale. Thank you, God!
:beret:
It makes me kind of chuckle that Meller is asking questions about clothes line drying since she seems to be so into the natural and "green" stuff. I figured she'd already be doing that. ;)

The bridesmaid dresses are -finally- in! They told us a ship date of Feb 24 (which they now say was approximate!) and they really just shipped on Mar 6. So now... Two weeks after the original ship date, three months after the order date, and only one week before the weddin, we finally have them. Hopefully the girls haven't gained or lost too much weight and they won't need work. I've been LIVID for two weeks about these dresses. If I known they would take this long and I'd go through so many phone calls, "lies" and waiting I would've put a rush on them! Ugh.. Haha
Ugh. Work. *insert my grumbling*
BUT IT'S FRIDAY!!! YAHOOOOOO!!!!
Why am I so insecure in myself that I constantly question things?

Oh I'm not knocking it at all. She just reminds me so much of my daughter, dina. ;)
When did you order them Nelle?! lol
We ordered our dresses for my SIL wedding in like I dunno August? Or September....and we got them like 2nd or 3rd week of January. The lady told us, that they don't ship, make, or do ANY dresses in the month of December...cus the majority of ANY bridesmaid dress you get comes from China...and December is Chinese New Year...they don't work. Which means they don't ship either!
Ah....tis a good day. The rains are gone, the yard is dry enough that the septic system works, and I am off of work. My wife is not happy though- I told her last night we'd need to drop the car off at the bodyshop Monday, and I'd bring a rental car home Monday night. As usual, she didn't think hubby had anything to say worth listening to, and just nodded "u-huh" and continued on her merry way. She called to remind me to come pick her up in a bit- she took the car over today. And they went ahead and started, so she can't get it back. Thus- she is car-less for her weekend off. All because she was too busy to talk to me. :biglaugh:
And I have baked the blackberry swirl cheesecake and have it cooling- looks awesome. :fork: And finally in sharing- I received a call from a good friend who is police chief of a small town nearby. He's like a brother to me, and is Bro. Papa's youngest son. He is currently out of church, but I know God is working on him.. Anyway, he wants me to come work part time for him on my days off. This is an answer to prayer in several ways- 1) It'll give me an excuse to be around him more often, and thus church WILL come up, it always does. 2) It'll let me be a real cop again occasionally. I've been going nuts at my fulltime job, because strangely enough I miss real police work. What I do at the capitol bears no resemblence to police work other than carrying a gun and wearing a uniform. And 3) an extra $350 to $400 a month will definately be appreciated in my budget. And he told me to work the hours around my schedule- like friday after dropping Chey off, I can patrol, write speeding tickets, and generally have a blast, without interferring with church or my fulltime job. :clap2: And an added bonus- Bro Papa's BBQ stand is in that little town, and it is open on Fridays.... :fork:
"I can patrol, write speeding tickets and generally have a blast..."
So you admit that cops ENJOY writing us speeding tickets? :noo:
Thanks guys. I am trying to learn. I started out knowing nothing about health. I feel like the Lord threw me into it to help me. The more I learn, the more I feel like it's wisdom God intended us all to have. I grew up microwaving everything from a can. Aside from the occasional bisquick pancakes or drop biscuits.
It really is a journey. I want to be more Christian than American.
I grew up with a mom who was very health-conscious, but with the way the info has ballooned in our world during the last few years, even she has been finding out stuff that she never knew before. And while I'll never know as much about being healthy as my mom or MY, I DO want to feed my family good food, and not use chemicals in my home (hate those cleaning agents and stuff - it's no wonder I used to have breathing problems when I'd clean the bathroom!) and be good a good steward of the health and resources God has given me.
Seriously, My, that chat on the phone a couple weeks ago REALLY helped with the diet issues I'm currently dealing with. Just knowing about some other flour options and whatnot was really helpful. AND... my cousin in Portland sent me some home-ground flour (3 difference types - pea, rice, and quinoa) for me to try. Thankful, 'cause buying it locally was looking like it was going to be crazy expensive. :o
Just finished reading Rasmus and the Vagabond to the boys. They really liked it, and the ending surprised them. Yay! Love it when I can surprise them with something. Sometimes they're just too smart. ;)
:beret:
Ruby - in reference to making something special for your hunny...you could hand make some love notes to put at the bottom of his lunch each day!
You been reading Rose is Rose comic strip?
Jenn - I leave him notes in his lunchbag fairly often, so I'm not sure it's special anymore. *lol* Maybe I need to rent a billboard. ROFL! Right. He'd shoot me. With green goo. Or spaghetti sauce. Or something.
:beret:
Today I would just like to say that today is Today. Have a good today, today.
This has been the wildest day I have ever had at work. I am so ready for the weekend...lol
This afternoon has just been dragging.
Quote from: The Purple Fuzzy on March 09, 2012, 05:55:15 PMOh I'm not knocking it at all. She just reminds me so much of my daughter, dina. ;)
I take that as a compliment. Adina seems like a pretty amazing Godly lady. ☺
I did end up being able to get groceries. Now to put up my clothesline and start some seedling plants. NO WEEDS this year. (http://urduart.com/gallery/data/682/girly025_2.gif)
Notice she just said no weedS....she didn't say no WEED. :smirk2:
Who wants to put together a puppet stage and sew curtains for me?!
I don't think I'd be much help on putting together the stage, but I can definitely sew curtains.

LOL.. it's as simple as it gets. Suprisingly hard to make tight actually though.
I made a new meal (from pinterest) and it was really good! It was Mediteranean Chicken/Pasta. Last night I made cheddar squash casserole and it was good too! Another pinterest recipe.
I tried a 2 ingredient lemon bar recipe. I thought the entire can of lemon filling was too much so I didn't add it all. I should have. The angelfood cake puffed up too much. It still tastes great, just not what I was trying to accomplish. It had rave reviews though.
Also, I bought Teff flour. It's from the world's smallest grain? It's supposed to be healthy though. And I found quinoa spagetti pasta today for $1.69 for 10?oz. ! That's a deal for GF.
I see you have your bell bottoms out on the line.
Cheese, Cheese, Cheese... I don't have to BE there to sew them for you, you silly piece of orange and yellow mold. All you'd have to do is send me the measurements of the frame. Really. Simple as that. :)
Been sewing like a mad woman today. Tomorrow I really must catch up on housework. Ugh. I'd rather be sewing. *lol* Or cooking. Or something.
:beret:
*Sings-.. and through it all!!..
Good bye toe nail, I shall miss you, we would of been cute in those shoes tomorrow!

I crashed last night...sooooo sleepy..... Still feel sleepy..... I slept in the bed, it's a wonder I didn't fall out.
Went to town and back.
I hate town.
I get to have lunch with my Lauren! Yay! Then headed to church for a SS seminar, an Innovate Meeting, and Youth Service! Gonna be a great day! Yay!

Truly weird? or just weird to someone who may not be used to sewing? 'Cause I'm seriously willing to help you out. :)
Hit the ground runnin' this morning. Coffee's on and I'm going to go grab a cup here pretty soon. Then back to catching up on the housework that I've been neglecting for a few days while I worked on orders. Have a hunch the by the time the boys are done with school, I'm gonna be ready to sit down and watch a Veggie video with them or something. They've been wanting to see the pirate video for a bit, so maybe we'll do that.
Oh, and if anyone wants to come put away all the clean laundry piled on the kitchen table, feel free. :thumbsup2:
:beret:
Both. :P
If the clean laundry is still there at suppertime it won't stay clean long...
True 'nough.
Melodya! Has your son read Do Hard Things by Brett and Alex Harris? It's incredible! My sister recommended I read it with my boys, and I'm really glad I took her advice. It needs to be on a required reading list for every teen in America.
:beret:
I LOVE Saturday's!!!
Slept late. Made cinnamon rolls. Brandon is now in the backyard degreasing his engine and I think painting. I'm waiting for Jess to come pick me up and we're meeting with another friend from church.
Tomorrow is anniversary service at church. 18 years. Seems so long but not really. Lol. I think they are going to stream the service online but not sure what the address is to watch.
Been running errands with dina today. Glad to be home now.
Bah. Drove the Corvette- it's probably gonna require a battery. And if it keeps nickle and dimeing me to death, a new owner. Enjoyed a pleasant visit with Bro Papa, cleaned the yard up a bit, and managed to drop my phone onto the driveway and give the screen a nice starburst. Lord. What next?!? :reaction:
You better not ask that question...He may show you... :smirk2:
I'm fixing to make taco soup. Gonna put it all together tonight, let it sit in the fridge overnight, and then let it simmer all day in the crockpot tomorrow. Should be YUMMY! If it's not, I blame Ruby. Her recipe. ;)
Had a terrific day today, learned a LOT and had a great time visiting with my friends. Plus a POWERFUL prayer meeting with our Youth tonight! LOVE THEM!
I'm fixing to make the soup, and then settle in with NCIS! Ann gave me season six to start tonight, and I stopped and got PEPPERS on my way home. Life. Is. Good. ;)
:hi:

Community Health Fair at church today was a SUCCESS! Not only did it increase potential business for venders in the long run, our church got to love on lots of people. I learned some health things too. Andrew took the driving while texting, fitness and self defense seminars.
Funny story of the day. There was a forum and different vendors got up and shared information throughout the day. One of our own ladies has a group called "Le Leche" which is a breast feeding support group and resource network. So some of the older guys in the back that are manning their booth for the car show are showing support for each speaker by clapping. They can't really hear what is announced, they just clap to welcome them. So of course they clapped for Le Leche, not knowing what it is. I was right by them and said, "Yes! Yay for breast feeding!" They were completely confused until I told them they just clapped and cheered for the breast feeding forum. One guy was so embarrassed. It was hilarious. Also, our pastor's assistant, MCed the speakers and sat in the front row. No one was in like the first 8 rows but him. I went up and said how impressed I was that he was educating himself in support of his wife, (who hasn't had kids yet.) hahahaha, so funny.
My eyesight is 20/30. I do NOT need glasses, other than for reading. yay!
Taco soup is in the fridge. Now I gotta find something to much on for now. I'm hungry and need to eat something filling before I start on peppers. For my stomachs sake.
Just made fresh apple bread.

Take a little wine.... :freaky2:

No wine. Just whiskey.
I just got back from the reception, It went really well and I'm surprised, the food was GREAT and I'm not just saying that because I cooked it. Met a lot of family I've never talked to and I hope to see them again, we had a lot of fun, everyone laughed and there was no family fights.
My uncle Wes got up and said some pretty funny stuff about our families history and welcomed the new bride. We got her to laugh and cry, I'll never forget it, I'm glad she's part of us now.
My uncle is with us right now and we are all just talking and hanging out, I made some great coffee, I really would like some sleep now.
Sunday school will come all too soon, but I am looking forward to what God has, some great changes are in progress!!
Oh, I almost forgot, I'm bringing you a plate tomorrow Mel. Plus I took some time out and made some pink lemonade for the kids. I also have some cake for them!
I found Some cute stuff at the dollar store for the classes and I will try to remember it tomorrow. Plus I have you a little something! Which reminds me, I need to get your pictures finished, I'll do that tonight.
Missed you today, Kimber. You would have loved sister Flynn. She taught for three hours and it's was incredible! Her southern accent was hilarious! She is an awesome woman. Can't wait for you to meet her tomorrow.
Plus, check your email...I sent you one this morning.
I'm headed to bed. It's a hour later ya know...
I think our dryer is fixed. A bro. from church came and looked at it for an apple pie. ☺ He thinks it was that the pipe (like 12ft long) that heads over and up to the outside for ventilation was clogged. We had checked the filter, checked the outside vent but he took apart the pipe. Thank you Jesus! I'm still going to use my clothesline, I'm just going to throw them in the dryer for a few minutes to soften them up at the end.
I wish Ron Paul had a real chance of winning the election. I know he's a bit wild but he STILL seems better than the rest. I will vote according to what I feel is best but I have no expectation that anyone will or can turn this nation around. Hold it where it's at is the best I think can be accomplished.
I ended up NOT eating any peppers tonight. I made a sandwich, but never went back for the peppers. But they will be great for tomorrow. :fork:
I can't believe that.
Believe it.
I cannot believe it lest I see the peppers and thrust my finger into their jar/box/container/whatever.
And get pepper juice all over your fingers? Better wash your hands before you do a lot of stuff. That stuff BURNS!
Good morning early riser!
I'm getting ready to go to church expecting great things!
Me too!
I'm tarred.
I'm up and fixing the hair for church. Chocolate chip muffins are in the oven. Had a great time with the girls last night. They may post service to YouTube like they did last year. I'm not sure. Also last week we had 6 get the Holy Ghost. 5 of them are Job Corps students and they are getting baptized today!!
I can't even describe how awesome church was this morning!!
And the soup turned out good too. Seth stirred it while I was gone to church and it turned out nice!
KIMBER: I stole my other root beer off of the foyer table after church...I saw it and you were not around so I TOOK IT! :hi:
Cleaning the henhouse and other bird farm crud..... And believe you me, there's plenty of crud.

Maybe they couldn't find the place. :P
Had a good service this morning and a good Children's Church tonight. And a birthday party for our First Lady, the pastor's wife, after the evening service.
While the fair yesterday was great, I cleaned with another lady afterwards to ready the church for service today. I forgot to fill the baptismal and turn the heater on.
We had one boy, I think middle school age. The water was so cold, he was almost in tears. It was_not_ the HG... lol Poor kid. I totally took the blame but I only feel half bad for the kid or anyone for that matter. I got baptised in a horse trough, I'm not sure anyone had heaters then... lol At least it wasn't in the river, having to break the ice as my step dad had to do!
Exhausted. Super long day today. And my day tomorrow looks to start much earlier than most Mondays. Ah well. Maybe I'll just... stop. And take a nap. In the middle of everything. Or eat chocolate. ;) @ Mel. Or drink tea. Or something.
Trying to do a couple songs for Easter with a group who isn't used to singing together. Okay, some of them aren't used to singing at all. This may prove to be interesting. Trying to stay optimistic in spite of certain obstacles. I've got a fair number of willing hearts and hands to help, so I need to stay focused on that, and the purpose of the whole thing, and not allow myself to get overwhelmed or discouraged by the other stuff.

I'm going to 'bed' and going to work tomorrow. bah...
I need a back massage. This pain has returned and it's almost unbearable.

Morning, all. :hi: I'm off to play with guns and get paid for it today. All that and a free BBQ lunch... :fork: Life is good. But- I won't have internet access until this evening, so no checking on you nuts. Stay outta trouble 'til I get back..
/me runs amuck while Roscoe is gone.
My toes are sore, my tongue is sore, my hands/fingers are cut/scratched/sore..... Ow. :-?
Going to work. :reaction:
I'm here at work. :smirk:
Howdy y'all. Nice rainy day out. My cat has the right idea... sleep until it gets better.
Been storming here. And my back is totally where it was a while back ago. I have not even attempted to get out of bed today yet. It hurts too bad. I'm not even dozing. Just laying here, in pain. OY.
Gonna go try to do SOMETHING. Like load the dishwasher or other things that really need to be done. I really can't lay here all day.
Church yesterday was awesome. I'll post the link to the YouTube video of our church through 18 years when I'm not on my phone.
Played basketball for the first time in about 10 years. I'm not as young as I once was that's for sure.
I am at the doctor. Greetings and all that.
It's a beautiful day outside but I'm stuck in the office.
I've still been stuck in the bed all day.
I got up for awhile, never was able to load the dishwasher. So I layed back down and eventually fell asleep.
Where is everyone?
I finally got the dishwasher loaded and started.
Ate some raviolis. Fixing to go lay back down.
Wow. What a beautiful day! 75 and sunny here. The gun class I took today was awesome, and the free bbq dinner was superb! 'twas a great day- until I had to rush to get to the car rental place. Every slowpoke in three states got in my way, then the woman tells me I have to use a credit card or have two utility bills with me! 1) I don't make it a habit to carry utility bills with me and 2) I try not to carry credit cards, since I am a terminal impluse buyer. Fortunantly, I found a credit card in my wallet that wasn't maxed out.
And related- a 2012 Chevy Malibu is SWEET. Suade leather, xm radio- I jammed bluegrass all the way home- and still got around 30 mpg. And it's big enough Mini and Taco would be comfortable. A person my size could make an apartment outta the trunk. :teeth: Now Lou wants to trade the Caddy. :noo: Think I'm gonna wander out and clean the yard up a bit and eat Mexican chicken the wife has made....
Well it'd official I'm dying a little more everyday, guess I'm normal, everyone can relax now.

I'm sorry you're hurting Mel. :-(
It twas gorgeous here. I cleaned the church all day though, then got some groceries for Hannah's Bday dinner and then made dinner. My feet hurt. lol
She's the big 10 and asked if we would call her sis instead of sissy since she's double digits now. I no longer have "little ones" at home and my heart aches a little.
She wanted fried chicken, tatos and gravy, cob corn, sugar snap peas & A&W cream soda. I made way too much food... but it was good. Orange sherbert ice cream for dessert. I love my little girl. Instead of our "ups and downs" for the day at the dinner table we all shared memories of Hannah. Most were from when she was a toddler, wide eyed and bubbly.
Ruby, I made a piece of fried chicken with teff flour tonight for myself. It was slightly duller tasting than reg. flour but still good. I'm going to make some kind of treat this week with it.
I may make chicken noodle soup later this week. Maybe Thursday.
Mel - *HUG*
Kmymbir - I'm glad you're alive. :)
MY - I am ashamed to say that I've never ever tried to make fried chicken. :/ I know it's ridiculous, but... I'm scared to.

No shame. It's easy, but I sometimes mess up the bone in chicken and don't cook it through enough. So I use skinless, boneless chicken and it turns out great 100% of the time. You crack a few eggs, season them with stuff like onion & garlic powders and salt. Whip it real good and dip your chicken pieces in it. Once coated, you plop it in some seasoned flour. I add a pinch of baking powder to mine. To get some fantasical crunchiness you then dip in in egg mixture again and flour it again. Then drop in Med-High oil in a pot. Fry till it floats, that's how you know it's cooked through. Use good oil that has a high flash point like sunflower or peanut oil.
Careful though. You might get addicted. :biglaugh:
I love fried chicken.

Yeah what the gorilla said!! :p
It's so warm I had to turn on the air conditioner. It was 82 on my way home from work.
I'm gonna make the frenchs French fried onion chicken tomorrow. It should turn out good, I've heard rave reviews.
Went to work......allllllllllll day........made a brief feedstore break midday, but didn't come home from work till after 9:30....tended fowl....took a shower....got my time entered online and crud....
Tomorrow I go clean a house in the morning with my sister, then go do cards at Dollar Tree and Target.... These goofy people won't tell me anything before hand, wait till it's going on then ask or tell.... Yesterday asked if I could work on a revision at Kmart tomorrow morning, but I was already scheduled to do my cleaning lady job.... Then today emailed me to cover the Target this week cause the girl that's doing that store is on spring break - now they had told me that would happen, but didn't say when it was going to be, so then today they say hey, it's this week! So I have to go there 3 times...bah. I don't like the ones that are split up that way.
I've also started carrying a "murse." Man purse. To carry supplies, scanner, crud.....sheesh....
Uh huh. :eyebrow:
It's not a purse, it's a man bag!
In other news: Howdy y'all!
In other other news: Linux just got me a free laptop battery! :D
Earlier today I thought of something I needed, and I knew I could get two of whatever it was at the Dollar Tree, and I would have enough to last awhile, but now I cannot remember what it is! It's driving me crazy!
I have walked thru every isle in my mind, and cannot figure it out. I've even went thru my daily routines at home, and at church in my mind and can't recall anything I would need from there!! What could it be! UGH!
DUH! I remembered. I wasnt even trying to remember when I remembered it. It was two packages of those Rubbermaid take along bowls. So I could make my soup on Thursday and take both Ann and Kimber a big container of it to church. They both love my chicken noodle soup, and I keep running out of take-out bowls cause I give them away filled with food and never get them back!
Now then. I've posted it, so if I forget again, I can look and see what it was.
Plus I need a cooling rack.
Shew....I feel like I've been beaten.... :sobs:
:up2: *Roscoe runs to hide his club used to beat Seth.
Morning, all. Back at work on my Wednesday. Just four more working days until Lou and I slip off for a few days in Branson.
At work. Day 2 of 3. :) woooo!
Mel.. It's too bad ya don't live by me. I have excess of both things you need! Haha.. I registered for one cooling rack, and we received two sets. They have three shelves apiece! Lol..
The girls dresses are fairly taken care of, just have to figure something out to cover something else. My dress is in my car to be taken back to the bridal shop to get steamed! I'll pick it up Friday hopefully. :) I need to start my to-do list so I won't forget my minor details! Plus I have bills coming due this weekend while this is all going on...can't forget those! Haha!
Tonight I'm doing my last load of laundry at home and packing for the honeymoon. Then when that's done, I have to pack the rest of my stuff in my room for moving! It won't be a completely empty room, so my parents won't be bawling. :) yet.
I'm getting excited..nervous..but ever so slowly! Haha.. Still have too much to do between now & then to dwell on my nerves. But it IS pretty nuts that it's this Saturday!
:hi: It's foggy here this morning.
Morning!
My back is still achy, but I don't think it's as bad as yesterday. Gotta get moving and see.
I need to do a couple of loads of laundry today. And go ahead and thaw out the chicken.
:hi:
Coincidentally this is also MY day to do laundry. This is laundry day because I haven't a clean pair of blue jeans in the whole house that I can wear to work.
Supposed to get to 79ยฐ here today!!!
Jenn, we just watched Forks & Knives. Awesome! I slightly disagree with the vegan push because the Bible isn't wrong. However I believe this can be adressed by taking into acct GMO & chemicals used vs organic & a Christ centered life. The info was awesome though & I loved that they addressed that the body is a symphony, not compartmental.
Thanks for the suggestion! It made a really good discussion with the kids about how man rebelling always =perverting His nature.
I made fish sticks for lunch. Hadn't had those in awhile.
Fixing to go put some clothes in the dryer and load the washer back up. One more load.
this weather makes me feel worshipful... lol
Hung some laundry up, looks like it's doing well. My basil is sprouting already. And it's Nathan's and my 14th anniversary. (http://gfxlovers.com/smilies/imgs/girly/girly022.gif)
Happy anniversary! :)
:beret:
Yes, what she said. ;)
Ditto that!
Got the chicken in the oven. It looks like its gonna be great!
Thanks guys! Chicken sounds yummy Mel.
ike, you now have 5000 posts,
and so we have a leprecaun, a gorilla, and a what?
and Nelle! how exciting! It's been fun to watch how it's all working out for you!
And Happy anniversary!
and Ruby, I work today, but I still need to talk to you...
And Mel, and Heather - *RBH*
and then a random rant- do you ever just wish you could get inside someone's bubble and shake them and tell them that if they dont keep going, and striving, and trying they will never get out of where they are?
I would say hey, but some people have allergies, so HELLO OUT THERE!! Anyway, today is also my laundry day and I have not had fun with it, I feel better though. I am REALLY glad you are bringing me some soup when you make it Mel, And I'm even more glad that you liked my take home box, btw thanks for telling me you grabbed your soda I was getting upset because I couldn't find it. I had planned to tell you it was sitting there but when it went missing I just hung my head and went home. Glad it made the right destination!
For some reason I have several of my keys going out, so when I type I have to backspace and try again, It's taking forever! But you are all worth the effort.
I MISS YOU CHEL!
You also Mel.
Oh p.s. don't forget to write this Sunday in our memories book Mel.
Haha! I saw it just sitting there, and you were nowhere around, so I just grabbed it and walked out the door. Bro Dave gave me the eye, and I just said "I'm a thief" and walked out. He just let me go. He knows not to mess with me!
Lord. Spent a good portion of my day fiddling with guns and inspecting guns. I was SO ready to go home, but, alas, I had a conference with the chief and another firearms instructor before I could escape. I finally make it to the truck- I have a flat. And the jack and lugwrench are at my shop back home. Yep, that helps. I finally get someone to bring an airtank and make it to the tire repair shop a block away. A ten minute job only took them near two hours. I was about to get really ill. The manager kinda headed that off by not charging me for the repair, but I had to fight rush hour traffic because of it. And Bro Papa is sickly again and I'm to preach tomorrow night. No clue what. May have to preach on the mercies of God and how they were on everyone I met today, for my human side definately wanted to smite the large majority of them...... :laughhard:
Im glad you didnt show them your human side and smite them...a lot of people would have had aching kneecaps...
In other news, I broke Sam. Which is a huge disappointment...I was gonna drive him to church tomorrow night for a car show.
And this stupid sickness hasn't let go. I get so nauseated its not funny. I am incredibly thirsty, but anything other than water turns my stomach. Bleh...

Ohhhh.......are YOUR kneecaps ever gonna ache next time fate puts us in the same zipcode.... :pound: :pound:
And I truely hate that you are sick in the body. It's bad enough that you're so sick in the head.. And Sam will be fine- he just needed a break, much like Rusty. :thumbsup2:

Lunch in Ft Smith soon, Bob/Jeremy./James/Others?
I'm back.
John :waving:
I gotta go make a cake. I should have already done it. Ugh. I'm tired now.
I went to dollar tree. Got the stuff I needed, and then went to Walmart so I can restock the snack bar in the youth room.
Bought a dancing chick at the dollar tree. Hehe.
Shew. Cleaned that house all day. That pays better than card business. :smirk2:
Then went from there to Dollar Tree and Target on the card business, with my murse in tow. :P
Finally home and abbreviatedly tended fowl and such....
Tomorrow I shall try to get some stuff done here at the Ranch... Lord, I will never be through.... :reaction:
Filling in for the piano player at Bro. Weir's tonight while she's on vacation, and after that I will go to Target for a little bit again. Have to go there 3 times this week. So then Thursday or whenever I'll hit the 3rd time for half a day or whatever. Bah.

Haha! I saw it just sitting there, and you were nowhere around, so I just grabbed it and walked out the door. Bro Dave gave me the eye, and I just said "I'm a thief" and walked out. He just let me go. He knows not to mess with me!
HA! He seen me when I come back, I eyed my drinks suspiciously and shook my head, then I muttered those crazy ETW. I seen him smile but I wasn't sure what was up, I can not believe it, I would of ratted you out!
My phone is dead, I forgot to charge it, on purpose. :-D I went to the track today and made 2 miles, I even ran a good bit of it, so I fill good (now that I can actually breathe). Just got the baby down, I am excited about this, I get some free time! :happy-dance:
I decided I will finish laundry tomorrow and read a book. I may even make something really yummy for supper!
Cake in the oven. Now just waiting an hour for it to finish.
Ladies thingy tomorrow that the cake is for.
I love my little dancing chick! It's so cute!
Finishing up a quick scan then I'm heading to bed.
Howdy y'all!
Well... that's all I had to say. So I said it.
Oh, and kmymbir... ACHOO!

Man, I forever more have a craving for a Dr Pepper today. I'm taking that as a good sign...
I have a couple of humorous stories to tell that happened to me just before bed last night. But it will have to wait. Dad and I are headed to grocery shop this morning, then I have a ladies meeting and gonna go home with Ann and hang out after that. So I'll post them later.
Have a great day today y'all!

Sounds great to me- but not on sunday night. I'm back at work. :hi:
:hi: I'm checking in.
Ok so, I have a few minutes to post my stories.
The plumbing has been being ok, and not causing any MAJOR problems right now, just little stuff, like bubbles. Lol I had loaded the dishwasher and turned it on. Then shortly after, I needed to use the facilities. So I'm in the bathroom, and all of a sudden, it sounds like I am in a pipe. Glug Glug Glug. The toilet started bubbling and making all kinds of noise while I was trying to use it! Scared me half to death! I got out of there quick! I had heard, and seen it bubble plenty of times but never when it was in use. It was an experience. (while I am typing this I can hear it bubbling in the bathroom right now. Lol)
So, then later when I was baking that cake, and I was in my room and I noticed a movement out of the corner of my eye, I looked towards my headboard and there on the curtain, was a George. Let me explain, George is the name we have for those HUGE cockroaches that live in the trees. The big black ones, not the small brown house roaches. Ok so, George was crawling up my curtain and he got over onto the bedpost. I grabbed my flip flop and waited for him to be in position for me to whack him into eternity. I whacked, he moved, so I missed. He fell, unharmed and ran off under the bed. I was creeped out, but there was nothing I could do, so I waited for the cake to get done and then I went to bed.
I was very creeped out by this huge George being so close to my bed and me not knowing where he was exactly. But I turned off the light and settled in, being VERY VERY careful to go to sleep with my mouth closed...I just KNEW he would crawl in there if I left it open. So I am almost asleep...that spot where you are just starting to drift off, and I feel something on my arm!! It was George! I jumped up, and flipped on the light, and I couldnt see him in my bed, but I KNEW it was crawling on my arm! So I thought "great, I'll have to sleep with the light on" so still feeling creepy, I tried again to go to sleep. Light on. A few seconds later, I could HEAR HIM. :o liturally could hear him on my bedside table, I looked and sure enough, there he was...so I grabbed my garbage can, and picked up an empty Gatorade bottle, and just gently laid the open bottle near where he was and the stupid thing crawled right inside. I screwed the lid on TIGHT, and then threw it away. He is trapped!
But then I had to listen to him scamper inside the bottle all night...but at least I knew he couldnt crawl on me!
What a night! No wonder I am so tired this morning!

Glad you finally decided to get the help that you so desperately need.....
just lurking..... howdy all you GP folks... :waving:
Hi Okie :waving:
That is CRAZY, Mel! I don't know if I could handle that. How far do these bugs live? Arkansas?
It feels like rain, even though it's just cloudy. Muggy. My tomatoes are sprouting. I bought a little organic kit from Walmart.
Thanks for relating the story about George, Mel. I'm DEFINITELY staying up here in TN.
Usually it's just the warmer states. I'm sure there may be a few in the colder ones. But they would have quite a way to travel to get there. Here is some info.
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_cockroach#section_1
If for no other reason than cockroaches I could never live in Texas. Family or no family. :o Those things are hideous. And evil. And terrifying. *lol*
My ears hurt.
Yes, that was random.
But this is me, and that's you, and you should be used to me by now. :P
:beret:
It's not so bad when you grew up with them around. We have had roaches on and off my entire life. Everyone here does. It's just a way of life.
But...no matter how long I live, I won't have them crawling on me. That I will not tolerate! Ever.
What gets me is the fact you even got in the bed you crazy nut! Not me, I would of made my dad tear the room apart, then I would have to watch the thing being beat until it turned to smoosh! I can not handle roaches nor moths. Snakes and spiders are not a problem for me.
Just so you know, what Mel showed you is actually considered one of the medium sized George, You should show them the giant, hissing, flying, wood roaches. I practically pass out when they fly at me.
I am not afraid of them...not like some people...I just do not like them crawling on me. And I can't ask dad to rip the room apart. He was asleep. Lol
Wow...y'all are talkative.
I'm home. TIRED!
Watching NCIS, surprise surprise. ;)
What another lovely day here. Hannah did some Birthday money spending and we got a Costco membership. It has very different product labels. I like it though! I seen today that I can get all natural chicken legs, thighs, breasts for 99ยข/lb. That's awesome for here when $1.29 is considered a good sale. NONE of their ground beef has the pink filler but is the same price/lb. as the grocery store. I'm happy to be actually eating meat and not ground up other parts in there.
But what about all the flavor you will be missing from all the other parts?! Lol
Well, I always enjoyed the flavor of steak over hamburger so I guess I'll enjoy more steak flavor? It takes some effort to be a suitable temple for the HG.

At least he didn't decide to fly around the room. Flying cockroaches are the worst!!
Some dude tried to stalk me in a store today. Some people can be so rude.
Costco is fabulous, MY. I don't even know how I would have kept food on the table this year if we didn't have a membership there. Seriously. Check out the price of yeast there. Guarantee you that you won't be buying it elsewhere after you do. :)
:beret:
*HUGS* Ruby. Really tight. Just cause.
We had Costco in Cali and it was fab!
The whole church shopped there. We had to drag the kids away from the candy bins.
Cleaned out the henhouse. Cleaned the incubator and turned it on too.
Went to church at Weir's to sub for the piano player on vacation. Went to work at Target. Came home and tended fowl.
And such.
Seth!!!

@Melb - we call them water bugs here in Texas. Cus they come out most when it rains....
and when they do and I see one I FLIPPPPPPPPP!
One time, there was one in the shower...and this was before my brother got married....and I was like "Paul, Paul come kill this!!!!" and he wouldn't do it.......so I grabbed his hair spray, and NUKED the bug....it twitched till the fumes intoxicated him....then I left the bug in the shower for my brother the next morning....heh....
@Kymbir....I SO wouldn't have been able to crawl in bed KNOWING the bug was in my room somewhere.
EEK now I got the heebie jeebies!!
My bosses here at work laugh at me cus I'll jump and scream when I see a cricket!! lol
Morning :hi:
Weirdos.
Need to tend the fowl then go work at Target again.....sweet Marie....
Morning!
Got some minor back pain today. But I am getting up, gonna clean the kitchen, and make my chicken noodle soup. Then I gotta clean out the floor of the shower again for the first time in about a week...the bathroom had another little accident overnight. But at least it's not NEAR as bad as it was that one time I was so upset.
Can't wait to get started on this soup! I really enjoy cooking things that I know other people love, so I can share and make people happy!
:hi:
Well aren't you precious.
Except for you. I have never been able to make you happy. No amount of chicken soup would do that I fear.
Maybe if I bought you a camel...
I get some soup today!!!
It will be gone before I reach my house.
It never lasts long, that's the only problem with your soup Mel, it has a problem with disappearing.
Morning everyone, nobody, and others!
Okay, so Mel just made me cry, her superfriendkickbuttaseity just come into play.!.
I hope thats a good thing. Lol
Just so y'all know...fresh sliced strawberries with a bit of French vanilla liquid creamer is amazing!

*edges away from the purple dustball.
Finally got my boy to read something, it was only a little words book but at least he sat still, now he is making a mess in my room.
The colors of this soup looks awesome, if I do say so myself!
I got the shower clean, dishes washed, soup made, and mom went to town and brought me back a new sheet for my bed!! Whoot! That may seem weird, but about a month ago I had a tear in the ones that were on my bed, and so I swapped them with some older ones that were the right size, but didn't stay put on my thick pillowtop mattress. So EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. I had to put it back on, cause I would make it pop off the bed while I slept. It was getting annoying waking up on the bare mattress and having to fix it over and over. (not to mention it has huge HIDEOUS pink rose desgins on it. BLECH!) So...she bought me a brand new sheet that FITS the pillowtop bed, and it's plain greenish grey color that I wanted. YAY!
Little things make me happy. :bigcheese:

hahaha mini I SO read that too! You're not alone.
We have a restaurant here, called La Madeline...and you can get strawberries romanoff....which is a thick cream with rum in it! It's quite yummy!

:beret:
Another beautiful day. That is all.
It was nice. I wish I could have been outside more and in the office less.
Yay for Ruby! I'm so so SO glad! ;)
We had an INCREDIBLE move of God at The Sanctuary tonight! Yeah! I really can't describe what happened in there tonight. All I know is right before it happened, I was feeling weird. I didn't know what was going on. I must have looked like something was wrong, cause Kimber asked me if I was ok, and I told her I didn't know, and I almost was crying. Then Pastor took prayer requests and BOOM! It was amazing! We had a blow out for awhile! It was great! Maybe Kimber can explain, cause I was out of it. Really out of it. Lol
Went to church, came home.
It was nice today, but with a couple rain showers....
At one point in the afternoon I had went out to the car to eat something and the wind was picking up and all of a sudden a bunch of shopping carts go running across the back end of the parking lot....it was like a wild stampede.... THEN, after I got done watching them, one come from behind on the other side of me and hit my car in the side. :o There were carts blowing everywhere.
But anyways....whatever.
And Shrewby, you are just as much of a scroungy buzzard as the rest of these people are.
And what does that make you? King of the buzzards?
Mel - It was the type service that shows you who really prays at home and who just comes to church, there were many just randomly going with it, but I will explain a bit more.
We were lifting praise to God and He liked it. We took prayer request you and your mom broke for obvious personal reasons, then others started to pray and lift God up, William began seeking for the Holy Ghost. Aleah started praying for your mom and they both prayed through. If William did not get it he was very close, every time he felt God he would start smiling all nervous and giddy like, then I got the giggles watching him because God is so good to His babies. Then Bob felt bad because it looked like you were blubbering and we could not tell if you were having a break through or break down, so she and I exchanged looks and she ended up with the job of praying with you. Then Cole and Annie had a round at the alter in prayer fits. Followed by Roxanne doing some crazy cool dance move, you should of seen the face pastor made when he seen her it was great, but pastor started jumping across the front, so James run a few more laps and Ian holed up in the corner. At some point Krisstadon and Happy were jumping with O. Wes was laying hands on anyone in reach, and I was trying to focus with all my might to see the Angels because I could see something moving on the roof by the back chandelier, I've been watching the last few services I know they are there but for some reason my flesh eyes are blocking out the Spiritual scene.
Any Questions?
SHARING: When I'm in a hurry either help me or get out of my way. Don't stand there talking. And if you're not doing anything but you don't care to help, at least don't stand around loafing where I can see you. It's infuriating. Especially if I asked you to help and you said you can't.
*sigh*
I'm still so wound up from being in such a hurry, it's hard to sit still and type. But despite the odds, I didn't leave anything undone tonight. It looked like I was going to have to though, right down to the end.
It's funny how all that happened and I missed it all. Lol I get lost when I pray. If I'm really into it, I don't see anything. I know Wes grabbed my head at one point, and I saw William praying and everyone over there, and I never actually SAW Bob, I felt her and heard her when she came to me, and I knew it was her without ever looking at her. After we went down, I used like a half a box of Kleenex, and I just KNEW Bro Tamborine was gonna give me a look to stop sniffing and blowing my nose on the back of his head. I should have reached over and ate your cookies. Haha.
But Jesus was definitely in the house!
I need an idea for a good, simple, EGG FREE Dessert for Sunday lunch. (no peanuts, almonds or soy products either, but mainly eggs)
Anyone got anything?
I think I've just decided to do a fruit cobbler and plain vanilla ice cream. I can have it in the oven while we are eating the meal, and it will be nice and bubbly and HOT when we get done.
Classic.
And Livi lovesssss ice cream. Lol
Ok...sorry for all the back to back posts, but wow! I just had to repent! I was pure DROOLING over a recipe I just found!!

Holy cow.

I've made something somewhat similar to that before....can't remember what it's called, Devil's Float or something or what..... But a chocolate batter stuff that you pour water over and the water kind of makes the batter "float" in the pan and makes it ewwy gooey. Very tasty. (And of course deadly to me anymore...) :P
I have made devils float before! I got the recipe out of the UPCI Reflections cookbook. It is pretty good, but not what I imagine this to be like. This one looks far more sinful.
And yeah, it would kill you for sure.
I have a Holy Ghost hangover this morning. Eyes are puffy and I have a headache. Usually happens the morning after a great service or prayer meeting. But...it's worth it! Means that the devil is mad!
Mel, I read your post about needing an egg-free dessert, and I had the perfect one I was gonna give you. But... alas! *sad sigh* I see you have already found something. So I will sniffle, put my recipe binder away, and not share it with you today.
