My dad just took the drughead to town for something to work on his truck, and drove my Trailblazer because he had pulled it in front of the garage door and was apparently too lazy to back mine up and get his own car out.

Seth, this is one advantage of always keeping your keys in your pocket. Nobody will drive my vehicle without me knowing about it beforehand.
Of course, another advantage is I never lose my keys. I always know where they are, in my pocket.
Well I knew he was going to do it, though I didn't quite see why he couldn't get his own car out of the garage and drive it. But I didn't worry about the smoking until after the fact, they were starting to pull out and I didn't go ahead and run out there and lay the law down.
Had loads of fun with my men and some friends at dinner last night. :) Jason had a great time with their son, and their little 3 yr old daughter had fun flirting with Chris. :lol:
Back to crocheting I go. But I think I may get some hot tea first. Been coughing like crazy. Ick. Mel, dearie, please keep your ickiness in MS. Thanks. ;)

Well despite my late arising this morning and a nap this afternoon, I did manage to get the light rhythm down on this soundtrack. If I were able to play better I'd probably have knocked the whole thing out in a good hour, but I'm not so hot yet.
Maybe I'll get some pan fried chicken livers at the restaurant. I like to cook, people say my cooking is good and I happen to like to eat my own cooking, but... sometimes I just get tired of it. And I haven't been to this restaurant in a good three months, so :) .

Oh my Lord!! I did that once!! Made cookies with that chocolate ex-lax and planted them for the maintenance man that ALWAYS stole cookies out of the kitchen where I worked!! I almost forgot about that! It worked! He took the bait exactly like we planned, and he ate SIX ex-lax cookies!! But he never did run off to the bathroom or anything. I guess when you cook it, it messes up the stuff that makes you go. LOL
We had a great laugh at it though. And no one was hurt.
Then he died like 3 months later. Motorcycle accident.

Oh. I forgot to share.
I went to Ann and Jimmys. Made lasagna. It was good. I overdid it again! BLAH! now I feel like warmed over mess and I have another long day tomorrow.
Tomorrow (since it rained today) is the Mardi Gras parade. It goes right past our church. Now, we couldn't care less for the dumb thing, EXCEPT...we make a TON of money off of these stupid people acting a fool following the parade. We sell parking spots to our church parking lot for $5 and then we get out there and sell soft drinks and popcorn. It's one of our biggest Youth fund raisiers of the year!
SOOOOO...the parade starts at 2. So after church, we are gonna eat sandwiches in the fellowship hall and get out there and make money.

Uggg. I wish I could sleep like normal folks. For the last week, I've been sleeping like a baby- up every hour or so. I really don't know why. No major worries to fret about, been praying, just can't sleep. I've tried going to bed early (8-ish), late (11-ish), and everything else. Nothing's working, and it's getting old having to get up at 4:30 in the morning and having slept just a couple of hours total. Makes for a loooonnnng day/

Finally cleaned around my house. Been sitting around knitting and reading. They haven't canceled church yet and I'm crossing my fingers that they don't.
I'm here, but don't have much to talk about, but that never has stopped me before. I taught Children's Church, about us being the body of Christ and how we each have different abilities and stuff. I used a soundtrack to illustrate, soloing each instrument, "Well this is the lead instrument, it must be the most important... nah, doesn't sound too good by itself." I told them the lesson was "Your place in God's band." :cool:

Church was awesome this evening and we had a packed house. Anniversary services are next Sunday and it just seems everything has been building to it. I also committed to working the race in 2 weeks. Went to church, The Preaching was AMAZING! It was Old time strict Holiness Preaching that was well-needed!! The whole church felt convicted, and cried and the alter was really good!!! --- It made me want to move up!
OBSERVATION: When I was a kid if mom had told me it was time to go and I giggled and ran off, I would have had my hind end tanned.
The preceding observation may or may not have to do with trouble I may or may not have had tonight getting certain bus kids to load up for the trip home. Hypothetical trouble also may or may not have tempted me to get a cherry tree switch.

What a day!!!
So! I didn't pass out at the parade. I didn't even see much of it. WARNING: Sharing ahead...might be longwinded, proceed with caution. ;)
I fought the devil this morning trying to get up and ready for church. I was NOT feeling good at all and dreading the long day. But I went. Get there and I'm toting my Livi around and Krissy passes me in the asile and says "are Honor and Chad here today again?" and I'm like "ummm no, not suppose to be" and she says "I just saw a woman walk to the prayer room with a little girl and she looked just like Honor" so I walked to the foyer door and looked to see their vehicle. It wasn't there, so I go back into the church and sister Shirley stops me and says "did you see your brother?!" and I'm like "no!! Where IS he?!" and she said "he took his little boy into the prayer room a min ago" I was in pure shock! This was the second time recently that they have just showed up at our church! It was wild!
Church was amazing! And I had my THREE babies on the pew with me!! Livi gets jealous when any other kids and with me and she is stuck to me like glue! I love it! Bro Jones preached for us today, and it was Goliath must die, but in the valley. It was awesome! We had a good shoutdown and it was over. Lol
So since Chad and Honor showed up, I ended up going out to eat with the family instead of eating sandwiches at the church with the youth like I had intended. After lunch though, I had to get back to the church to help with the parade stuffs. THAT was an ordeal. I followed pastors van around and through and up and down and around side streets and crazy ways to get back to the church and avoid all the roads that were blocked off for miles around the entire parade route. (these people take this thing WAYYYY too serious!) so after about 45 mins of all this driving...I kid you not...we FINALLY got back to church and I took pictures of all our kids and Livi withe their beads and toys an such.
Then, after the parade and cleanup, and after all the kids were gone (except Ian, Anns stepson) Kimber, my new friend and I wanted to hang out. BUT she lives an hour away and doesn't have a vehicle right now and her parents were ready to get home. So...I decided to take her home and hang at her house. We dropped Ian off at Anns cause it was on the way, and he needed a ride, and we borrowed the Prince Caspian DVD to watch. (I have TOTALLY TOTALLY turned Kimber into a Narnia fan! She has breezed through the first 4 books in one week so far!! She is itching to finish the last three!)
So we get to her house and she is giving me the tour, and I see that she has CHICKENS!!! I was excited! I HAD to go pet them and hold one so I could have Kimber take a picture of me so I could text Seth the pics!! It was great! She has horses too, and her mom made homeade taco pizza, and we talked and talked and talked, and then watched Prince Caspian. It was pretty awesome!
Then I left and came home. Got home about 11.
Amazing, amazing, amazing!!!
A day full of surprises, and blessings and wonderful friends. God is good like that!
Oh! And I'm keeping Parker tomorrow!! Yay! Love that boy! I got to see him today too! His Daddy had to be in the parade, and it started by our church, so they came to church with is this morning!

Besides, there's a buffet in Branson calling my name. :biglaugh:
Downside is, I'll probably miss a couple of pages of you chatterboxes, since I'm not gonna drag my laptop along. I'll just have to catch up Tuesday evening. That's says something for how addicted to this place I am- one night away and I'm stressing. :laughhard:

Man, whatta Friday-Sunday.
Friday I went to a Dr appt, then rushed back to the house to get ready to drive 2 hours south to for a children's crusade. Had a wonderful time. Saturday I worked, and unknowingly set myself up for a blessing Sunday. Sunday morning, service, then back to work to help out a guy. Come to find out, he and his wife attend church in another part of the state! I helped him and in return he was a huge inspiration and blessing to me.
Then last night for church...wooboy!
Pastor opened the service and handed it to me. I should have warned him. When we were having prayer meeting, I had a huge burden hit for the service. Sometimes that means God wants to take us to a point to be ministered too, sometimes it means God wants take over.
We started singing, and God was moving. But it seemed we were at a point where God wanted to take us a step further in faith. We did. Sang another song, people were worshiping, and the music stopped.
I looked around and the musicans were 1) gone, 2) praying, or 3) worshiping.
I had a feeling that service was taking a turn at that point...lol
My dad runs the sound booth some. He was out of it, across the church and praying for a young man.
Chelleebelle (my wife) was off the platform, headed twoard the organist, when God led her back to pray for a young lady in the youth group.
I was bouncing around like a golf ball teed off in a tile bathroom. (Theres one for you Ray Stevens fans)
After a while, things started to slow down, Pastor started leading us in a song, and I look to the back of the church, and see my wife and daughter praying. Pretty soon, everyone but my sisters (okieoliveoyl) hubby, (who was trying to play a little music) was back there praying with my daughter. And she got the HOLY GHOST!
Ill try to edit this later and add a couple pictures of the event. It was wonderful!

After all that I actually had some trouble sleeping. And the coughing is still present in my life. Lol
I layed awake and listened to Narnia stories till I finally fell asleep about 2:30. Then I was up at 6 and now I'm over here with my Parker and we were watching a Bee Movie, and he was snuggled up against me and the next thing I knew, he woke me up so I could fix him a sippy cup! And the movie is over, I totally missed it! Nice!
I'm glad he's a good kid and stays put when the movie is on! He never moved from my side!
Started working on the beginning of my Art Museum project for Art Appreciation...
Looking at some of the various types and works of arts, REALLLLLLLY makes me wish I was a full-time artist. I'm SO ready to get thru school. Sigh....

You know, in all the years I've been going to the Branson/Springfield area, I've never been to Lambert's. Every time I've thought about it, there's been such a crowd that I didn't like the idea of waiting, and so didn't go. Maybe I will this time.

In other news: If they ask me to stay over at work I usually do - partly because I could always use the money, partly because they're in a bind and I want to help out. But when a manager asks me to stay over and I don't, it really doesn't sit well with me when the aforementioned manager gets snarky about it, as if it's my duty to stay over and going home at the scheduled time is a personal insult to said manager.
My complaining for the week.
Otherwise today has been a good day so far. Much more busy than a normal Monday, so it flew by fairly quickly. :)

Okay... Torani is a very good brand of flavoring syrup, stocked in high-class coffee shops. Wal-Mart is the lowest common denominator, carrying cheap stuff that a lot of people will buy because it is cheap. What in the world is Torani doing at Wal-Mart?
I bought my 11 year old niece, the master chef, a pack of six assorted flavors (with sugar, not sugar free.) She had to try each of them on the spot, and of course she insisted I try each of them with her. They are good! If you happen to go to Wal-Mart try them. Even the sugar free are (kind of) good. Well, they're good for sugar free stuff.

Look them up on eBay seriously...I've bought some of Kirk Franklin's old ones off eBay...perfect condition for like less then $7 and that included shipping.
Speaking of my man Kirk - I'm watching He's Able - his like first big hit, with David Mann (Known as Mr. Brown in any Tyler Perry production). LOVE IT. I would have LOVED to be at one of his first old-school concerts, with his 10 color outfits.

I'm feeling very free and young the last two days. :) I like it! I'm SOOOO excited that I get to hang out with my friends this week!!
I am feeling old today. Bleh. I hate it the day after I have to use caffeine to keep going. I don't do caffeine all that much, at least not in enough quantity to have a large effect on my body, but when I do I pay for it the next day.
I wish caffeine did anything like that for me! I never get all...hyped up unless it's from lack OF sleep haha.
The only way I know how you guys feel is when I take Benadryl. I can feel it wear off and my body winding down when it does. It totally wakes me up haha.. Mom said she made the mistake of giving me that one time and one time only hahaha.
I've heard of people with ADHD doing that reverse hyper thing - caffeine makes them tired and sleepy and benadryl makes them hyper. Do you have ADHD?
I'm glad I'm not a coffee drinker though. I'd hate to feel this way every day unless I got my fix.

Your sandwich doesn't sound as nasty as my friend's sandwich on Facebook. I gagged when I read her post. She was eating an egg sandwich. Eggs generally gross me out these days..especially fried or hard boiled. I can't stand the smell.

I bit into it and had a out of body experience. It was at that point in my life, i realized that my head could be lifted smooth off my shoulders in one bite of food.

Then you didn't try that junk from Wal-Mart that's basically mayo with sugar and a bit of wasabi oil, you had some real wasabi sauce! It does require caution in application and ingestion... If you breath out through your nose while chewing the fumes can take the top of your head off. It's good though.
It's actually horseradish. Real wasabi is very rare, it can only grow on a few slopes in Japan. Wasabi as we know it is "seiyo wasabi," imitation wasabi.

If you like Arbys Horsey (Horseradish) sauce, its not a bad taste at all. Its a very Horseradishy taste, and it packs a intense flavor and heat.

I LOVE egg sandwiches, for the record. But I'm with Jenn...just bread, mayo (not MW) and salt/pepper.
Wasabi is amazing! I learned the proper was to eat it from a Guatemalan guy. He puts a big blob in a bowl, then mixes it wil soy sauce. You then proceed to dip everything in it. Especially your sushi. And yes it WILL clear your sinuses. I wish I had some!
I had Subway last night, and planning to eat the other half of my sandwich now. Leftover subway is awesome!

Wasabi and soy sauce is good. Also good is wasabi and black bean/garlic sauce, but it's very high in sodium and it's really, really, really easy to use too much black bean sauce.
Well I placed the order for a laptop. For a new ThinkPad with an i5 processor and 4 gigs RAM, $670 is a very good price. But it's still a bit of a shock spending that much money at one time. :o

Oh boy... remember last Friday I was talking about fixing a person's mistakes at work? Well I'm at work early (got some stuff to do before I clock in) and it's already looking like another long, profitable (for me) day. Boss ain't happy about it but it's not my fault, I'm doing the best job I can and I'm getting more hours because of this guy, so :D.
Personally I'd like him to keep doing this stuff - it would make my wallet happy. But I gather it's a bad thing for the store, so... oh well.

freeze your milk or bananas and it'll be a exactly like a shake! A banana in our shakes is always the sweetness we need instead of sugar when we make smoothies.

My Mom said it was a warning. And my cousin said on FB it was a warning. She lives 20 mins away. She had her kids in the laundry room all huddled up cause that was their only room without windows.
I said a prayer, and went back to sleep. Lol I'm not gonna huddle in the hallway. God will protect us. And He did. It's just steady rain now. No loud thunder and the lightning stopped too. Thunder is rumbling softly in the distance. Toward Mobile it sounds like. So it's over for now I guess.
I would normally have stayed up earlier and watched the storm. I LOVE STORMS. (long as I'm inside and don't have to drive in it) but I had a really bad night. Coughing again. And I must have got up 6 times to potty and I rarely get up once on a normal night. So idk what was wrong. I had finally got some good sleep this morning when it started to storm, so I got up to look out the window and talked to my Mom briefly, and then decided to go back to bed after posting my first message up there.
Slept REALLY good then...till the Texts started coming in. Ann is talkative today. Lol

D is currently whining his way through finals *grin* and K is studiously doing her math like a good little girl. The interesting part of that is... she's gone way higher in math in high school than the other 3 of us ever thought of. What is up with her?!? I have a brilliant little sister, and it's almost depressing. *lol* Why couldn't my parents have spread out the brains a little more? It might have been helpful, ya know... ;)

Home on my lunch break. Finally told my boss some of what's going on and why I'm stressed. I'm the entertainment at work. Usually singing and dancing and whathaveyou and for me to have an off day EVERYONE freaks out. I told them I can't be Mary-sunshine all the time for them.
It's raining. Has been all day. We're under a flood watch here too.
Church tonight. I didn't make it to bible study last night because my dad had called.

One of my neighbors had one of those dumb birds not long after we bought our house. It was an adult. The goofy thing wouldn't stay at home, and loved destroying the garden my dad had planted and drove 8 miles a day to from his house to mine to tend. I REALLY thought we were gonna have emu for dinner a few times, Dad would get so mad at it destroying his garden that he had started bringing his 12 gauge over every day in hopes of getting a clean shot at it. :biglaugh: He never did, and the emu finally disappeared- I think another neighbor took it out. :laughhard:

My phone just did it. I really don't know what happened. It was sending the text, and then it froze. Flashed to a FaceBook message from like 3 days ago from Ruby, then stalled again. The it made the charging noise (like when you plug in the charger) and froze on the lock screen. It stayed frozen there for like 30 secs, and when I was able to slide and get back to the messages, EVERY LAST ONE was GONE!!
Then I get one lone reply from the message I sent. So I don't know if everyone I sent to got that message or not. LOL
I am kinda upset. But oh well. I can't fix it. I tried a hard reset and still nothing. So oh well.

I'm a mess tonight. I'm angry, hurt, etc etc etc.. seriously, a mess. I feel that it's petty to take it to the person(s) involved because.. they won't care anyway. So I just look like an absolute idiot. So very tired of this kind of "drama." I wanna go back to where and who I was on February 2nd, and build upon that person.. I don't play games with people, and I really would appreciate if they'd not play them with me. I know I'm not perfect, but I know I deserve better. Somehow the "Idiot" door into my life remains thrown wide open, and they just pour in. I want to close that door, and open "Godly Gentleman" door - if a door is going to be open! haha.. :/

When I was gathering eggs with Kimber on Sunday, I noticed that when we brought the bucket in, she didn't put them in the fridge. I didn't ask her then, so I'm asking you now...

Eggs can keep at room temp for quite some time. Some of the green, hippy, health nut type people do that. If you leave them unwashed they supposedly keep better.....
We put them in the fridge, not always immediately, but within a couple days.
So they say there's a bunch of things need done to the car...gonna let em do the 2 that they said need it worst....*shrug*

When I was gathering eggs with Kimber on Sunday, I noticed that when we brought the bucket in, she didn't put them in the fridge. I didn't ask her then, so I'm asking you now...
eggs stay better longer, refigerated.. but I wouldnt keep them longer than a week or so that way.. (actually, i always refigerate my eggs because im creeped out.. lol) but, as an egg loses its freshness, it actually has an air pocket inside the egg that expands, the older the egg is! You can submerge an egg in a bowl of water, if it lays on its side its fresh, if it stand on end it is not.
The next few days at work are going to be a battlefield, looks like. They're really cracking down hard on procedure. Procedure = how they want you to do things, and you would not believe how pig-pathed it is. There is a procedure for how you put meat on the grill (8 at a time, and you have to put them down in a certain order) how you take it off (4 at a time, and heaven help you if you scrape up the wrong one first - you have to take them off the grill in a certain order) and when someone calls for a tray of meat you have to acknowledge by saying "thank you." Not "yeah," "okay," "roger," "10-4," "wilco"... it has to be "thank you."
Problem is, night shift doesn't know how to say procedure. There's gonna be some real unhappy people over the next week or so. Either that or some day shift people are going to be crying "Double standard" and a few other things.
On the upside when I got home there was a big box waiting for me. My computer has arrived! Now let's see what an i5 processor can do.
Oh yeah, that reminds me... I'm going to be torturing a new laptop so I won't be here as much as usual tonight. The operating system might stay on for an hour, or maybe not... when I got my Gateway it had five OS installs in the first 24 hours, and that was with normal sleep and work shift in that time. :D

I hate, I hate, I HATE it when my own computer, that I paid my money for, tries to tell me what it thinks is best for me. AAARGH!
When I installed Linux, any version I ever installed, it was SIMPLE! Answer seven questions or so, like what time zone do you live in, where do you want this installed, etc. It installs itself without any more fuss, then asks permission to reboot. And presto! You have a full, complete computer operating system, ready to go.
This Windows was already installed when I got the computer, and already I've had to spend more time messing with it than with any sane Linux distro. And it keeps asking me if I'm sure I want to do what I'm trying to do.

Moral of the story: Windows stinks most because it keeps trying to tell you what IT wants you to do.
One more day of work...then 9 glorious days off!! :clap:

Or to put it another way, I feel like I am not the owner of the computer, using the computer I bought. I feel like I'm just being allowed to enjoy the Windows experience, and if I actually get some work done that's fine, but not really important.

Tonight was fun! The boys had a law meeting thing so we got started later than expected. We ate at O'Charley's and my soup was YUM! Chicken Harvest is delicious! Then bowling.. I stink at it! I got beat by all 5 guys both games hahaha. Oh well! I'm proud of myself for being a better sport than I used to be!!

Bowling is awesome! We usually play 3 games. My first game is always ok...my second is a LOT better, really good even, and the third is usually the worst. Every time.

And then I find when I get up that Japan got hit with an earthquake and tsunami. Well that puts my being short on sleep in some perspective, doesn't it?

Thanks for the prayers, everyone! Trenton did have to go to work for a few hours in the middle of the night (to evacuate the resort he works on), but he was home sleeping in bed when I called to check on him a bit ago. *lol* One news article I was reading this morning said that airlines to Hawaii were "significantly disrupted". Uhh... ya think? :roll: :lol: Considering that the Kona airport is right down ON the ocean... uh, yeah. I would say flight times have been "significantly disrupted".
From a (hawaii-living) friend's FB about an hour ago: "The Big Island experienced 12' waves w/ a 100' surge inland on the south side"
Taco - Yes, a fair number of friends in Oregon have been evacuated, too. Haven't heard much about CA and WA yet, but I'm assuming they probably got evacuated as well, because a friend just this side of the OR/CA border was evacuated early this morning.

I've got this song It's Gonna Be Wonderful from Youtube stuck in my head...and I can't tell or haven't figured out all the words, so just parts of it play on my brain's turntable... And there's some part that I think says something about "no weeping for ones that's gone" or something to those effects, but part of the time when that part plays in my head, it comes out as something about "one night stands."

I told him he SHOULD be going to a singles conference. A Mens conference won't help him in the relationship area much.
Tonight at work is going to be one of those nights. I'm probably going to end up getting rude with a coworker for passing off what they could be doing themselves. It shouldn't just be me and the manager who can do something that they also can do. I spent like 8 hours in a meeting yesterday hearing about everything that is expected of my position, but what keeps happening today is why I never can get it all accomplished. Just drives me up the wall.
I applied for another job today and plan to apply for another tonight or tomorrow.
I also went to McDs earlier for a caramel mocha and the lady gave me coffee instead. :( I guess I'll try again at dinner. Hopefully it'll be right. I love those things!

Trust me, the original coffee is better. The caramel mocha is made with a syrup and somewhat blase espresso beans, but the regular McDonald's coffee beat Starbucks in a national double blind taste test.
And (strongest point, so insert drum roll here) my grandmother likes McD's coffee. She's a MAJOR coffee drinker, and a majorly picky coffee drinker - won't so much as sniff at Maxwell House. If she likes it, it has to be good.
I agree that this coffee I'm drinking from mcdonalds is better than regular coffee from starbucks. I only drink hot chocolate (and maybe some caramel drinks) from sbucks! But the caramel mocha was yum from mcds yesterday other than the burning incident! Haha.. Which in still reeling from when salt touches my tongue hahaha.
It's already 7! Wow!!
McDs has the best regular coffee. Hands down.
That's the only reason my group goes to McDs.

Howdy y'all. Seth, what's going on today that is so dreadful? Five-oh I still don't know what that Crabb family album is like because apparently it is the one single part of my order that got lost in transit.

I intend to go to the flea market and try to find a good, cheap flat panel monitor, run the sound booth for Melanie's wedding, set up a computer in the sound booth (won't be much, a laptop and a monitor because the laptop screen is bad,) set up some wireless handheld mics in the children's church audio setup, type the church bulletin, get this new laptop of mine set up with all the programs I want (would be much easier in Linux, just select all the programs from a list and hit Apply... but noooo, in Windows you have to install them all manually, one at a time) and make a backup image of the whole computer system so that if something goes wrong I can install from the backup image instead of doing the whole thing manually again.
Sure beats being bored! :D

I hate that for ya, Isaac. My wife likes the album more than I do, I actually prefer their older stuff, but it's a good album nonetheless. Not that you would know yet. :lol: Looks like a busy day for you. I intend to do next to nothing. :lol:

Too bad. A few months back, our It department liquidated a bunch of excess moniters they had. I scarfed one up- at $35 I felt it was a great deal. I wish I'd bought a couple of them.

I don't know. I'm sure the replcements didn't come from Walmart, though- state bid and all. All I know is we got an e-mail from the IT department telling us that they had several (I think around 130) for sale for $35 each. Nice big screens too- 17 inch, anyway. I figured I'd buy one and relace the CRT I had on my shop computer. Glad I did- two months later, I knocked my laptop off the table and destroyed its moniter. It would cost half of what I paid for it 3 years ago to fix it. I thought that 3 years is an eternity in computers, and I'd be better off buying a new laptop when I need it, so I just use the moniter I bought for it.
Good call on the old laptop. You can get a Thinkpad that is more computer than you will ever need for $300. Replacing a whole screen is only worth it if you've paid $2000 for a new top-of-the-line one.
Wish you'd picked up some more of those monitors though... ;)
