I am doing well, recovering slowly, but well.

It is a Red Motorcycle.  Yea I know wrong color.  LOL

No, sorry to disappoint you, but no video of me is going on youtube... unless someone would have gotten the accident.  Now that would have been cool.  LOL

And Last and certainly least.  LOL The big Question.... What are my feelings towards Rubber Duckies.... Well i have some friends who are real Rubber Duckie fanatics.  And Yet others do not like them and think that they are for babies.... Personally I stand with my friends on the issue.  LOL

How did you achieve the elevated status of rooster after having been labeled a chicken for so long?  Was it when my *cough* friends started admiring you and you started crowing?

Nope, not often at all.

So how did you break your leg?
Title: Re: Ask a Rooster!!
Post by: 1legRooster on May 25, 2008, 01:23:29 AM
Well since I am sure it would come out in an Investigation if I did not fess up anyway, I will give you the run down.

I purchased my First Motorcycle on Thursday night, and picked it up Friday moring.  Now this was my first day ridding a motorcycle, and after a few hours ridding in the country.  A friend and I decided to take our motorcycles and ride up to the Church's annual Men's retreat.

It was a fantastic very fun ride until the final turn, when I turned onto the private road off the main road, I was going to slow for how steap the road was, and my motorcycle started rolling back on me, so I accelerated, and unfortunatly I over accelerated, and shot accross the road and up the side of the mountain.  I ended up standing in the ditch right off the road, holding my motorcycle up on just the back wheel.  ANd as I twisted to lay the motorcycle down, my foot remained planted.  And I broke my leg in several places, and my ankle.

That was one month ago yesterday.

I now have a metal cage around the leg bone, two screws that come up through the ankle into the leg bones, and two screws holding the leg bones in place.

In about 7 more weeks I get the two screws in the leg bone removed... then I get to start working on walking again.

It gets rather boring laying around, even working from home is not... the best distraction.  LOL

So as I slowly recuperate, I look forward to fun times... in about 6 months when I am 100%

And just for kicks.
Things you do not want your doctor to tell you.

We put the leg bone together like a puzzle, needing to tap the final piece into place.

HA, but on the other hand, I was described as VERY alert in my admitting paperwork.  LOL

:beret:

Yea it was no fun.  Once I had my motorcycle on the ground, I picked up my leg, saw my boot just sort of dangling at the end of the leg, So I looked back and called to the friend who was safely still on his motorcycle, I broke my leg, call 911.  Then layed down on the side rode, and waited.

No Blood at the accident, so that made things easier.  LOL

Once I got settled down, I called my friend over, and we started praying and worshiping God.  Then would chat for a bit, and more guys would arrive, and we would have another prayer session.  It was great.

An off duty sheriff stopped as he was driving by because he saw my bike and me down on the ground, and came over to see if everything was alright and make sure an ambulance was called.  Then he stood off to the side, sort of uncomfortable about all these crazy men, praying and worshiping.  LOL I would have so loved if my leg would have just popped back together, but I guess maybe God wanted me to slow down for a bit.  Some rest has been nice.

Post by: Ashlee on May 25, 2008, 04:32:18 AM
haha.  I love how you in your description of the accident you added "it was great!"  When taken out of context, as it will be since this is GP and that is how things are done around here, that statement alone would make an interesting investigation.

Wow, and here I figured Newsman would have wanted to break the story.

I got the Holy Gost at about 11 years of age.  In Ontario CA.  Bro Buxton was my pastor at the time.  A great man of God.  I am a 5th Generation Pentecostal, and have had to live to see most of my generation backslide, but will also, by faith, see them back.

What traits do I most admire about my parents.... Patience, and Love.  I am staying with my parents well I recover from this broken leg, so they have me to deal with, who right now can do little for myself, but I guess they still take the time.  Plus since my brother and I moved away, have opened there house to Foster kids.  and so far have adopted on girl, and have two other foster girls (all pre teen (talk aut drama)) LOL and also have two baby boys, one 10 days and one 3 days old.

Well the reason the Slinkys does not move down the stairs as advertised, In theory is due to the width of the stairs.  But that is only a theory.

I prefer to avoid the Peeve Peting zoo.  But the things that can anoy me the most.  People who are always late... and I do not mean by a few minutes.  People who abuse their spouse or children.  Democrats.   :laughhard:

Yes, when I have the speed in flexability back in my ankle and foot, then yes.  I plan to Ride again.

I was born and raised in church... so 30 years, almost 31

No, I am not called to preach, I am more of a teacher, but not sure where all that is going to go.  Currently I work as a servant at my church (that is outside the job that pays the bills) so I do as my pastor and the pastoral staff request.

No, it is just wisdom... young women statistically are safer drivers then young men.... Now that is statistically...  and probably stems from the fact that most young women do not have someone telling them where to turn and when to stop for directions....  :waving:

I guess Green, although if you saw me at CLC most of the time you would think it is Black, because that is the color Media and Sound must wear... something about being able to blend in more.

I really do not have a favorite singer.  I currently prefer Choirs to single voice singing... and There are a lot of singers I enjoy.  Sorry to disappoint.

LOL, I think the question is more do others enjoy my singing... besides God that is.  LOL  And I will answer that this way.  Well I enjoy singing.... I am not in the Choir, yet I am a Sound Minister.

The thing I most miss about being mobile is the Independence Relying on others for so much is a challange for me.

No, not yet, still working on it.  But at the very least I will be able to watch morning service online.

Yes, I think it was close to 5 years ago, mine is a 97 I think.  I got to see it for the first time since the accident the other day.  it still looks good.  a few dings, and need to replace the mirrors, and she will be puring once again.  I cannot wait to get out and ride again.

They do still make the Nighthawk, but only in the 250 CC class now.

My favorite car.... well it is not a car, but the next vehicle I purchase, I want a nice truck with about an 8 inch lift kit on it.  LOL

I am sorry RJ for not answering your Family Reunion Question.  I guess I would have to ask how much family is required for a reunion.  since our family has not had a formal family reunion since I was a young child.  They had brought over a family member from Germany, the idea being we need to settle the argument among the branches of the family here in the US, on the spelling of the last name.  Between the SEIBOLD, the SIEBOLD, and the SAYBOLD or SEYBOLD factions.  Depending on what port the family member came in, determined the spelling of the "english" last name spelling.  Otherwise a service at CLC, could almost count.  Since in some way shape or form about 75% of the church is related to me.  So it all depends on your definition of a family reunion.  LOL

Nope.... well occasionally.  But less then once a month, not sure if that would be considered drinking coffee.

My preferred hot drink would be either Hot Apple Cider or Hot Tea but alas no milk in the tea

I would have to say one of the times God has intervened into some struggles in the family.  Like the time I fell out of a tree and split my hand open.  And God healed it.

LOL

ouch sounds painful

WHAT!!!!!

LOL  Jk.  That was funny.  But they probably would end up accusing me of cheating, since I would have the use of crutches and then probably a cane... Of course I would be jealous of them since they would not have to go through Physical Therapy.

I hope they the doc will ok me taking this trip to Chicago in July.  It is set for about a week after the estimated next surgery date... talk about cutting things close.

Oh well... God will work it out.  I keep looking forward to the Sunday I can get out and dance again....

This weekend.... I am going to see Phantom of the Opera with some friends and family.  Hope we got good seats, since I have to be in a Wheel Chair accessible one.

I went with a friend who was in a wheelchair to a performance one time.  The seats were pretty decent, actually.  Hopefully you won't find that only one or two of the people who go with you are allowed to sit with you in that area, though.

Well that could be alright... but I had the person who got the tickets make sure they knew that I was in a wheel chair.  so hopefully all will go well.  But we will see.  I will probably post something about it on Sat.

Phantom of the Opera was really good.

Had a person in the row in front of me, trying out to be a bobble head, but all in all, it was really great.  I enjoyed the play and the evening.  I was getting really tired of sitting around, but it was good, I will have to go to more plays/operas.

Ummm...  Jonathan?

That is NOT "details"!

Dost thou need a dictionary?!

What was your favorite part?

Who was the best actor/actress?

What were the props, scenery and costuming like?

What did you talk about at intermission?  (that's generally a good indicator of what you enjoyed about the performance)

What in particular made you come away saying that it was "really good"?

Are you going to answer the POtO questions that RJ asked you?

Where have you been?

Did you know that we missed you?

Are you walking yet?

What are you gonna do for you Birthday?

What kind of cake do you like?

Do you like the buttercream or the cool whip icing?

What are you going to wish for when you blow out your candles?

Are you going to spit on your cake when you blow them out?

Are you going to make everyone eat it anyway, after you spit on there?

Am I annoying you yet?

Dost thou need a dictionary?!
Nope. Thanks for the offer.

What was your favorite part?
The End.  LOL  Jk.  I really enjoyed the whole thing.  The singers were quite skilled.

Who was the best actor/actress?
The Phantom and the leading lady were the best.

What were the props, scenery and costuming like?
Nice

What did you talk about at intermission?  (that's generally a good indicator of what you enjoyed about the performance)
Called a friend and told them it was intermission.  some others were in line for some water.

What in particular made you come away saying that it was "really good"?
Ummmm..... The whole thing.

I just did.... sorry they are not more.... detailed.... again... GUY excuse.   :laughhard:

Where have you been?
Skimming the pages, without much to say.  and we have been having a revival

Did you know that we missed you?
Nope

Are you walking yet?
Nope, hopefully about the fourth of July.  I should know more after Monday's doc appt

What are you gonna do for you Birthday?
Lay in bed.  LOL  Actually not sure yet, maybe go to a friends house and play games.

What kind of cake do you like?
Not a big cake fan.

Do you like the buttercream or the cool whip icing?
Cool whip over buttercream.  Buttercream is way too sweet.

What are you going to wish for when you blow out your candles?
If I were to blow out candles (would require prior fire department approval) Not sure.  Maybe a safe 41st b-day.  I will explain in another post.

Are you going to spit on your cake when you blow them out?
If I had a cake.... it would depend on who was there eating it after.  LOL

Are you going to make everyone eat it anyway, after you spit on there?
again, same answer as before.

Am I annoying you yet?
No Comment.    :laughhard:

A situation that has me slightly worried.....

1. on my 22 nd birthday, I put a florescent light bulb about an inch into my leg, and had to have my first set of stitches.
2. shortly before my 31 st Birthday, I have my first motorcycle, surgery, bone graph, and broken leg.
3. What is going to happen at 41.................  ???

I am starting to wonder about the seeming bad luck right after a "significant" birthday.  21, and 30

My hero.... well I do not really have one.  there are people I look up to, but the only one I worship is Jesus.
I have one Brother by Blood, one Sister by Adoption, and two foster sisters plus two foster brothers.
when I was a child, there was Johnny, the Gentle Giant, and in the Christian School I was called Preacher Boy.
Songs... well it would depend on the mood, but one of the songs I have enjoyed the longest is the Presance of the Lord is here.
Verse.... it depeneds on the time, but the one that is almost always on my mind.  If my people which are called by my name, will humble themselves and Pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will heal their land.
Bible.... Acts
Kids Song... Most of the new ones are too crazy for my taste... and I do not remember my favorite as a kid.

No Therapy and may not need any.  My Bone Doctor said that we will see how things are towards the end of July.  Yes, I am supposed to start walking on the 4th of July, which is good with going to Chicago on the 8th of July.  I have notified the Ministries that I am involved in, that I will be back to work in Aug.  It will be nice to be able to help out some.

Ha, if i could find some in the area that were worth the time and effort to flirt with, then maybe.  but alas, now is not the time I guess.   Oh well, Bible college starts up in about 3 weeks, maybe there will be some in the new group.  HA, yea odds of that are not very high.  Oh well.  Life goes on.... and on.... and on.....

:biglaugh:

The main thing that has taken my time is trying to get some problems at work straightened out, and dealing with the lack of energy the rest of the time.  Oh well.  I will be up and running soon.

Before the Emergency workers arrived, there was a group of men form the church there by the side of the road just praying and praising God.  He is so good.  When the picture was taken above, they had just gotten done cutting the boot off, and I was trying to tell them that I did not need my Leather Jacket cut off.  God is good, I did not loose my Leather Jacket.  Just a Tee shirt, Pair of Jeans, and a Left boot.  LOL

I am up and getting back into the groove of things.  I have gone from a Wheel Chair and being bed bound, to being able to start putting weight on the leg on the 4th of July.  At that time I was using two crutches, and I am now down to a cane, and I can do a little with just the boot on, with really short distances without the boot.  So all is moving along.  I cannot wait to be back on my motorcycle.  LOL  God is So very good.   :great:

The joy of the open road, the freedom of just you and the road.  The wind blowing as you ride along the road.  It is a lot of fun, not to mention the thrill, the adrenaline rush.  It is a lot of fun.  It is hard to explain, it is just a thrill.

Yea, as a recomendation, do not ride a motorcyle into the mountains until you have ridden for a while, and I would recomend you always where your safety gear, and I would recomend a full head helmet the bugs can be nasty.  LOL  Of course I have a full face shield, so I do not eat the buts.  LOL

Scooters I am sure would be fun, but I like the more powerful motorcycles.  It is nice to be able to zoom along.... well as long as you do not try to ride off the paved rode and up the hill.  LOL

So Chel, were the pictures detailed enough for you?

Well personally... I know you are bigger than i am, so its great for you! I'm not as tall as you are on the other hand... and i think 600 or so lbs of bike is more than enough for me to try to handle... and small enough for my feet to reach the ground  even if it is well balanced...

Now... I'd go for a ride on one of those for sure though! as long as i wasnt the one driving it, and i trusted the driver enough to know they wouldnt do anything stupid with me on it... thats for sure!

I quite agree with the melting Ice Princess.  LOL

Yes you can miss something you have done only once.   And Yes, you can miss something that you have never done.  It is actually quite easy to miss things you have never done.  Don't any of you miss sitting at the feet of Jesus?  Yet in the flesh it is something we have never done.  But something we all want to do.

Didn't HAVE to ask, really.  Just wanted to hear your answer.  lol  You know how it is.  Sometimes people ask questions just to see how creative the answers may be.

I think I started as Jonathan, and it got changed to 1legRooster.  But it has been a long time.  LOL

It may have been in another thread, but I do not remember which one.

Nooooooooooo!  Now I'm remembering a bit more.  Your original GP nick was based on a YM conversation with me and Chel and Mel.  I remember seeing the newest member that had been approved and laughing hysterically.  I'm pretty sure it WAS 1legrooster.  But that stemmed from a yahoo nickname or some other part of the conversation, I think.  *shaking my head*

Chel:  I can't remember either.  I think it took a couple hundred posts.

I think Jonathan found his around the 300 mark, but he hit 300 pretty quickly.  Not sure if it was determined by how many posts he got per day or the overall post count, or the sheer addiction level that he achieved.

p.s. LOVE the new smileys!!!  rofl

Dear Rooster,
What are you most looking forward to about your cruise?
What is a country you've wished to visit, but haven't yet?
Where do you go when you want some quiet time with God without any interruptions?
When was the last time you climbed a tree?

:beret:

Wow, it has been a long time since I got some questions... YAY

I am most looking forward to seeing the islands, and the break from work.  Spending time with a bunch of single ladies is a nice bonus.
I would really like to visit Germany, so far I have only seen the airport.  LOL
When I want quiet time with God, there are a number of places I can go, but if the church is not right, then a drive to a lake works.
The last time I climbed a tree was at about 10 and I fell out of the tree and split my hand open.

If the 7-11 is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, why does it have locks on the door?
Title: Re: Ask a Rooster!!

It has locks on the door in case it is robbed, that way the evidence can be locked up.  LOL
