Bro Papa said he got over a foot....we got around 6 to 8 inches just north of him. I'm listening to the police radio and just heard a trooper friend tell dispatch he'd been rearended while parked on the side of the road with another stranded motorist. a few minutes later- "Dispatch, someone just rearended the car that hit me, it hit me again and now my car has rolled down into the ditch."  :P
Glad I'm not out there in that mess...

Kinda the same here - only in reverse. People think they know how to drive on snowy/icy roads so they just drive however they want. No wrecks this morning on my way though.

The Purple Fuzzy

Here they usually drive either too fast or too slow.  I think I'd rather them go slow than think they can fly and then slide into you.

Ah, I hope you all are enjoying your white Christmas!  lol

Ours is nearly gone in KC.

Nathan is off till the 3rd and I'm enjoying every minute of it.  Yesterday's Christmas dinner went great.  The new gouda corn casserole turned out well and so did the lamb roast.  My SIL got me a large jar of cold pressed organic coconut oil.   :thumbsup2:

We had a friend over yesterday and she was feeling the same way.  She said she wanted to try and read a Shakespeare piece this coming year so we got her a comedic one that has the modern translation on the facing page.  She got teary eyed that we listen to her random ramblings... lol

God is good, I'm so thankful for sweet sweet people.

We got a Furby for Hannah.  It may not live long...  It changes personality based on how much attention it receives.  Little attention= rude bratty Furby.  Hmmmm....

Lynx

Grandma got one of those jars, and has no idea what to do with it.  All we can figure out is the Ice Cube chocolates I like, the first ingredient is coconut oil.  Hmm...

OH my goodness. Cold pressed? It's practically liquid gold, Isaac. Which is why it's so expensive. Health wise it helps your digestion, it helps you burn bad fat.

It's antiviral, antifungal, and antibacterial.  So you can use it on cuts, rashes, etc. It's the only? oil that doesn't clog your pores but is absorbed right into your skin with direct nutrients.  Which makes it an absolutely amazing lotion.   A little goes a looong way.  It stays fresh as long as the lid is on tight, for a long time.

It heals your hair ends w/o making hair greasy.

It helps balance your mouth flora which toothpaste and mouthwash destroy causing cavaties, bad breath and discoloration.

You can fry with it, you can replace any oil/butter with it.  It's packed of vitamins.   You can whip into a whipped cream.

The Purple Fuzzy

My mom spreads it on toast instead of butter.

Here is one photo of our snow.

Melody

so pretty!   Has Talia been building snowmen and making angels?

kkay

Mmmm...coconut oil! I use it with just about everything. I make a pretty mean chocolate treat with it :) It's good for cooking meat too.

3 more hours to go! Then grocery shopping (yay).

So... the more of these Ice Cube chocolates I eat, the better it is for me?  :D :D :D

Whoever wants snow, come and get all you want.  Bring a freight train and load er up.  Somewhere around a foot to spare.

kkay

Same here. Looks like it's supposed to snow all day :smirk2: Even BEFORE I get off work. Thought it was supposed to start after :sadbounce:

Oh well, still going to the grocery store. Anyone know of a really good digital camera that doesn't cost too much? (Like..under $40)

Lynx

Um... "really good" and "under $40" are mutually contradictory for cameras.  But basic consumer cameras are going out of style now - everyone uses smartphones for pics.

My best bet would be go to amazon, cameras, sort by lowest price first, then look through until you find one with good customer reviews.

Talia & family is in Mississippi with Ben's family.  I don't know if they got snow.  They won't be back here until the 1st and I'm sure it will all be gone by then.  I do wish she could see it.  :(

Heather

All we've gotten is lots and lots and lots of rain thus far. Our snow is supposed to start tonight and go into tomorrow. I hope it's up to my bum!

Paige gave me her cold for Christmas. She's such a sweet sister  I'm going to medicate and lay down. Won't be for long though. I have to blow my nose about every 30 seconds...

Chseeads

It was 9 inches or so here.  Puke.

It's such a pain.

But it was humorous to see a goose slide down a hill on it's belly like a sled though.

Heather

I'm interested to see how my dog does in the snow. She's only a year and half old and hasn't really seen any.

I potentially see an upside to the snow. I didn't have to have a sermon prepared for the night, as we cancelled services due to the mess. Just like a blanket of forgiveness, it covered my slothfulness. :laughhard:
I've spent all day lounging around, mainly in my recliner. It started with a good book, but according to the drool marks on the pages, I only got about three pages in....

No snow here still, so we're still having church.  Fortunately God gave me a sermon days ago.

Roscoe I've found when a sermon or lesson just won't jell, it usually means you won't get to preach it anyway, you just haven't found out about the cancellation yet.  It has happened many times with Children's Church, usually because nobody told me we wouldn't be having Children's Church that night.

This is the second day in a row that I have spent the entire day inside and not set one foot outside all day long!

It's cold and wet, we have a TON of food, and the family and friends have been pouring in and out of the house...there is no reason to leave the house!

I'm on vacation!! And it is GREAT!
Have you slapped that one dude from Indiana with a pie in the face today?

SippinTea

We had a lovely white Christmas here, too. :) And I am TOTALLY with Mini... I absolutely love it when we have more than a foot of snow. :bigcheese: Hasn't been that deep in quite a while though.

We had a wet Christmas, but it wasn't a white one.  We're still having our Christmas family celebration at New Year's though, so maybe it'll be white by then.
