Well.....so much for the trip to Lou's mama's house. It had just started sleeting when we left....six miles later, we were sliding sideways. It is pure dee slick as snot out there in a space of about thirty minutes. Had the Caddy all over the road. Told Lou and chey we were going back home, and did so. And as far as the tornados and snow- well, we had loud thundering and sleet/snow a few ago, and I've never heard of that.....

Good thing it WAS a Caddy.  Them things are built like a brick.  If you had run into anything, the Caddy would probably have won the argument.

Which is one of the main reasons we chose it a few years ago. One of the main selling points for me (rear wheel drive)  is a liability in slick icy weather though....
My nephew wanted me to come get him 40 miles away in the mountains. He'd rode his motorcycle there and said it was too slick to ride any farther. Hate to be him and hate seeming cold hearted but I don't have anything that will make it there.... :(

Glad you're getting a white Christmas Jenn. My Aunt and Uncle live in FLower Mound.

My hubby's nickname is shep and that would make me ladyshep. :)

The Purple Fuzzy

I can hardly believe we're getting snow. We NEVER get snow, especially this time of year and it's actually trying to stick.

mini

It is blowing 100 miles a hour here, but the snow stopped.  *sigh*

I wish we would get several feet of snow.

I'm dreaming of a white christmas
With tons of snow piled all around
When the family's here for dinner
It would sure be a winner
For them to be stuck here, and safe, and sound! :)

You must be dumber than you look.

I didn't think that was possible.  :smirk2:

Just because you hate snow, weather, people and everything else in the world does not mean everyone shares all or any of your opinions.

Has anyone heard from Roscoe since after that storm went through?  It was spitting tornadoes in Arkansas.

He's too heavy and low-to-the-ground to be bothered by a tornado.

Lynx

Yes, of course, and you could just get your chickens to fly you to safety.

Seriously, has anyone heard from him?

We are fine. Just being blessed with an overabundance of snow. I've not heard of any tornados around here, just alot of wind, snow and ice.

Well it's too late to send it over here, the family left for their respective homes.  No snowing them in here tonight.

And if it snows us in too bad for me to get to Wal-Mart tomorrow morning I am going to be very, extremely ticked. :demand:

I have had the best day ever!

It was so nice to have Christmas without all the usual junk that I'm accustomed to being christmas for us. It was great being away.

Headed to bed now. :D
Have you slapped that one dude from Indiana with a pie in the face today?

Newsman

Howdy! Worked the winter storm practically by mysef at the radio stations, and now I'll need to be polite for the next week or two while people ask me if I had a good Christmas.

I have a little canker sore, or something, at the base of my uvula.

:sadbounce:

It's thunder snowing.

Unlike Roscoe, I have heard that before.

So much going on around here! I went to mom's for the holidays. Got to watch our classic Christmas movie :)

My nephews are soooo ungrateful! They looked at their presents and said "why's there only 2?" lol Little brats.

Part 1 of my diet is done  Just 1 part left then maintain a healthy lifestyle. Gonna try to make some pumpkin muffins next week with coconut flour. Hopefully they turn out ok

I do too. Mom's getting 3-12 inches today. We're supposed to have a little but more windy than anything.

MsJennJenn

We got it! And I love it!

The only thing I hate about it is Texan's are so DUMB when it comes to driving in it.
They don't know how to drive in it....like today on the way in. There is NO snow on the roads, or about 90% of them are snow/ice free. Some of them, there is literally NO condensation at all on them. Yet people are still putt putting along....
